Took 2 friends there for dinner. Everything was excellent. My only issue was that the check was presented to the table as one check, we were not asked how to split it. Our cost was much higher than our friends and it is embarrassing to expect them to just cover our portion. We squared up later.
Very friendly owners and staff. The food was magnificent. The sauces exquisite. Good choices, even a vegetarian delight. The service was fine. The waitress and host checked in us as well as the owners. The French bread was perfect. We had the duck (casserole) cassoulet. So tasty and different with sausage and white beans. A mushroom appetizer was so satisfying. And the wagyu beef bourguignon delicious. And, of course, dessert. The Napoleon was the best. Layers of Flaky pastry and rich whipped Chantilly creme with fresh berries. Good cappuccino as would be expected.
We had the pleasure of dining at Chez Boet last night and it was an absolute delight! This very special restaurant is renowned for its exquisite home cooked French cuisine, and our experience did not disappoint. We were delighted to find live music playing during the evening by a very talented young pianist and singer. For starters, we ordered their delicious escargot in parsley, garlic, Ricard butter, and duck liver pate. The flavors were out of this world – a perfect combination of savory, creamy, salty goodness! And for the main course… wow. We opted for the rack of lamb with Dijon, herbes, which was cooked to perfection with a lovely port wine sauce; plus the duck in a fresh orange and orange liqueur sauce that melted in your mouth with each bite. Not only was every dish presented beautifully but they tasted divine as well! Last but certainly not least, dessert. We shared the Napoléon, the puff pastry was so light and fluffy with home made creme Chantilly, fresh seasonal berries. And the Apple Tarte Tatin was out of this world. Their desserts are made fresh daily on site. It truly was heavenly – light yet decadent with just the right amount of sweetness to end our meal perfectly. If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience then look no further than Chez Boet! We cannot wait to go back.
If there were more stars to give, I would. Ten of them in fact. What makes this cozy eatery so awesome is a complex formula. Chill vibe, comfy seating, great wine list, stunning foods (and presentations) and attententive (but not overly so) staff. Truly like a taste of France.
Amazing restaurant! Delicious meals. We ordered a duck and lamb. Deserts were fabulous. Especially crème brûlée.
What an amazing experience! The owner Lisa Boet greeted us at the door and created a warm, cozy and phenomenal overall dining event. Our waitress was incredibly helpful, insightful and pro-reactive for us. This restaurant is a 10 all the way around from the vibe, food and people! Amazing lamb!
Food was absolutely amazing. I had the lamb, hubby had the special of the day which was also amazing and dessert was an upside down apple cake. Would definitely recommend!!
Chez Boet is pure and absolute comfort. From the amazing service that is always present, but unobtrusive. To the presentation of the food, which looks photo ready. To the taste, which I just can't find a good comparable to out there. Order the orange duck, extra crispy. The foie gras just melts in your mouth with perfectly crispy caramelized edges. And the escargot, traditional, could be desert.
Quaint atmosphere with a welcome feeling, particularly because Phillipe and Lisa were greeting all at the door. All menu offerings were enticing, however, the evening specials were even better for our entrees. French onion soup, chickens livers and pan seared foie gras made delicious appetizers. A must when in Naples.
Charming and friendly, wonderfully prepared and perfectly proportioned french cuisine. I thoroughly enjoyed the beef wellington on a busy Valentine's evening where everyone in my party was treated like a VIP. Our waiter Adrian was passionate about the food and went out of his way to accommodate us. Don't miss this delicious fine dining experience!
Amazing food and wine! Great service. Get the special(s) of the day. Highly recommend.
4.8 Great service wonderful wine. Beautiful Naples the lamb was excellent.
Highly recommend! Outstanding food, wonderful service, awesome experience!
Nicely presented food and cozy restaurant. We had lamb racks and snapper.
Not only did my friend Barb and I have a devine dinner of Lamb Tangine & Berkshire Pork chop with wonderful atmosphere & great service, & they even tried to help jump start my car when it would not start & gave Barb a ride home while I waited for the tow. I would not hesitate to go back to this lovely restaurant for the wonderful French food, they serve, and the kind people that they are.
Wonderful French dining experience on a summer Saturday night. Be sure to start with the Escargot (with wonderful French baguette to dip in the "juice"}. And don't forget the wonderful Boeuf Bourguignon. Gimlet and Martini cocktails are prepared with care and are plentiful and cold. Service is friendly and efficient. Enthusiastically recommended! BLC
Wow! Just ate dinner here, celebrating my husband’s birthday. What an amazing experience. The food was fantastic...escargot, salade boet, roasted duck, beef bourginone...everything was absolutely delicious! Besides the wonderful food, the service was excellent. We look forward to returning again soon.
A joyful find! Delicious food, smart yet casual atmosphere, visible and involved owner, attentive staff. High quality ingredients, well-prepared. No evidence of shortcuts in food prep, no soup 'bases' with MSG...all seemed natural and fresh. An exception among Naples restaurants and well worth seeking them out.
One of our favorite French restaurants. Fine cuisine. Great wine list. Our favorite waiter, Thierry. Often have excellent live music. Best Napoleon for dessert. Charming owner.
Maybe the best French restaurant in Naples. Everything is good. A small but very good wine list. There is nothing not to like.
Menu unique and timing of items saved was perfect. Drinks were awesome.
Wonderful little French restaurant with a strong menu and fantastic cocktails. Everything from appetizers to salads to entrees were delicious and presented well.
We had a spectacular meal and good service—but what made the experience even better is that I especially felt welcomed with my little, well behaved dog. We ate on the patio despite the hear as that is the only place that will accommodate dogs, but we were truly treated with warmth. The food was delicious and the creme brûlé just perfect! If we were to come back to Naples, we would come back!
This place is fantastic. We spoke with the owner and she gave us a perfect outdoor table. Every menu item is fresh, perfectly cooked and in its original form. There is absolutely nothing processed about their food, it's straight from earth or sea. And everything is made from scratch, in house. The Belgian endive salad with blue cheese and walnuts was simply delicious. So incredibly fresh! The rack of lamb was perfectly cooked, along with 4 perfectly prepared seasonal vegetables. Everything was cooked to perfection and beautifully portioned and plated. The scalloped potatoes were especially good, complemented by carrots, sweet potatoes, and a thick stalk of delicious asparagus. The French onion soup was sublime, with a thick layer of gruyere and dissolved bread, with beautiful large chunks of onion underneath. There are many amazing restaurants in Naples but we're so glad we stumbled upon Chez Boet. Our deepest compliments to the owner, staff, servers, and chefs. Everyone was so gracious and professional. This place is five stars all the way! And so romantic too! Highly recommended when in Naples. Right next to the pier in Crayton Cove.
We will definitely be back to Chez Boet. The food was delicious, our waitress, Kathleen was a hoot, she was great at filling us in on what was good, and periodically would come by and ask, "Well, was I right or what?" She was spot on. And she kept us laughing and smiling. And Lisa, the owner, was very personable and the sweetest, most down to earth business owner I ever met. She was the host who sat us at our table, and she was so real and enchanting, we'd never dream she was the owner. We'll never forget our first experience at Chez Boet, and are already looking forward to our next time. Another thing that was top notch was the piano player and the ambiance, my wife and I were celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary and it was awesome to be able to hear "background" music and still have nice conversation and be able to hear each other without screaming. Back to the food....... Exquisite!! Thanks again for the greatest time. 👍👏❤️
My wife and I ate here for the 4th of July and the experience from top to bottom was amazing. When she called in to make the reservation she was greeted by an extremely friendly person who was more than happy to book a reservation for us and acknowledged that she could handle my wife's food intolerance well. The atmosphere was very romantic and the meal was one of the best that we have had in many months. I highly recommend this dining experience to anyone who wants a nice night out.
A really well deserved 5 stars for "Chez Boet"!!!...and even a 1 star bonus for their owners Lisa and Philippe. I had a great experience from the beginning when I came in the restaurant and Philippe welcomed me with a warming "Bonsoir" to the end of my diner and this delicious dessert after a really nice conversation with Lisa. The restaurant is charming, cozy and relaxing. The food is excellent and I was so close to take a second pieces of this delicious chocolate cake. My waitress was nice, professional and smiling. The owners are really nice and friendly. They created a family atmosphere and make you feel comfortable. I usually do not write review but this French restaurant really deserved it. I wish we had a French restaurant like that in Miami. I highly recommend it to everyone visiting Naples!!!!!
Awesome French food presented masterfully. This fine establishment is run by a wonderful couple that also conducts regular tours to France with their regulars at the top of the priority list! Old school country dining that is sure to please anyone loving great food! We are regulars here and I an very critical of poorly prepared cuisine!
We were looking for an authentic French restaurant in Naples. I found this one on Google, called in and happened to talk to the nice lady-I think she is the owner. It’s a nice atmosphere with the piano music in a corner. Delicious food. Just our lady server was a little strange. We came in with the baby. I understand that we always create noise and mess… we are sorry we broke a bread plate too. I don’t know why the lady was giving us such looks like she was doing us a favor. She wasn’t happy that we didn’t order main courses ( only my husband did ), she mixed up the order for desserts… When another guests arrived she told them to move further from us since we are loud… I don’t complain. I tried to apologize and be nice to her all the time… but we definitely want to try it again another time we are back in Naples.
This is kind of an old school French restaurant. Not sure how long it's been around, but it seems like it's been there a while. Food was good, but there were some issues. I had the red snapper special, which was pan seared with seasonal vegetables, rice and garden salad. The fish was delicious, so tender, the veggies and rice were fine, but I didn't get my salad. Also, something went wrong with our order....after our appetizers, it took over an hour for our entrees to come out, my food was served at a good temperature, while everyone else's was not warm enough (although they said it tasted good).
Visiting Naples from Ottawa Canada. First experience at Chez Boet, not the last. Food was fantastic. Great service. quiet and comfortable setting. The owners are on hand to greet you and make sure you are taken care of.
Great food. Really pretty inside. Friendly owners and the best part for us is how kind our waiter has been to our 3 yo. When her raspberry fell, he automatically brought her 3 more.
Really nice somewhat out-of-the-way neighborhood french restaurant. Service and food are really quite well prepared and presented.
This was our 3rd time here. This time for New Years eve. We were seated promptly at 6pm and after we ordered the items on the price fix menu, the food came out in rapid fire and were out of there 65 minutes later. Hostess/owner is fantastic and food and service is usually A+ but I need to mention one big negative. Unlike most restaurants that post on line if there is a special menu for holiday events we booked on open table for new years eve. Three was no special menu notification nor was there anything posted upon entering the restaurant. We were shocked that the fixed dinner menu was $168 per person NOT including tip and tax. Ended up costing $429.00 and that was without drinks. Service was ok and food adequate on this evening. My wife loves the mussels and this place so we will probably be back, but certainly not on any holiday. We do not mind spending this type of money but this was a disappointing experience.
The owner greeted us at the door and was very warm and welcoming. The food was absolutely amazing. Between our table we got les moules (which were the best dish of the night) and escargot. We also got lamb, poultry normand, beef bourguignon and the pork chop. This is the best French restaurant I’ve been to in Naples. I would love to give it 5 stars but due to our waiter (grey haired gentleman) I cannot. It was very obvious that he was upset with someone else working. As he passed by our table we could hear him make remarks to other team members about his displeasure. The other waiter even told him “be a team player” and we heard him talking about how he was upset he had to spilt his money with someone. This made our experience uncomfortable and we felt that we had to “walk on eggshells” when he was at our table.
Decent meal at a nice location. Potatoes were fantastic. Beef Wellington was under seasoned and the pastry was soggy, but the duxelles tasty. Duck was also under seasoned, and skin could have been crispier. Additionally, I prefer my creme brûlée thicker and served cooled.
Lovely quaint French restaurant near the Naples pier. Nice décor and an entertainer playing guitar and singing (he also takes requests)…Our server STEVEN was very good and the owner LISA was very friendly socialzing with all the tables! That personalized attention from an owner is such a special touch at a restaurant! My friend had the French onion soup which neither of us liked…it was sub-par (based on my many trips eating in France), another friend had the Escargot which he said was good. One friend had as an entrée the Mussels which he said were disappointing. Another friend and I both had the Coquilles St. Jacque scallops which was beautifully presented with a delicious sauce and we both enjoyed our entrée. We split an apple tart dessert which was the most disappointing. This being said, based on the attentiveness of the owner, the ambiance of the restaurant especially with entertainment and the enticing menu, I would give this restaurant another try next time I am in Naples.
Although this restaurants backstory focuses on French food authenticity they must have been away from France for too long. The soupe du poisson only had a faint resemblance to the real French dish of the same name, it lacked depth of flavour, the rouille was a poor imitation and lacked bite and the cheese was tasteless. If you served this in France you would soon go broke! Perhaps its been dumbed down for the American market? Staff were good and service good.
We have eaten at Chez Boet for several years. Recently, we ate at the restaurant and were disappointed. We go there because we like their food. We ordered escargot, endive salad and the duck. The escargot and duck were excellent but the salad was bland. We like their lentil salad better. However, we were very disappointed in their staff. When we arrived we were escorted to our table by the window. Several minutes later our server came by to tell us we had to leave by a certain time for another reservation. Why didn't the maitre d tell us this when we arrived. The server said we could move to another table. We stayed at our table. While we were eating dinner a staff member kept going behind our table to retrieve candles from a tray on the floor. Once or twice, but don't do this four or five times. Take the tray and move it somewhere else. Also, while we were eating the staff moved a table and chairs behind our table. Then they moved a large table outside on the patio. Do this before patrons arrive at the restaurant. Lastly, we overheard some staff discussing why a bottle of wine wasn't ordered, a problem with a reservation, etc. The food may have been good but the evening was ruined by the disorganized staff. We will think twice about eating at Chez Boet again.
Nice atmosphere, especially if you are sitting outside. Lovely piano music. Really wanted to like the place. Unfortunately, food was very disappointing- maybe we got unlucky and chef had a bad night. Escargot was too salty and did not taste fresh. Muscles were blah- the best thing about muscles is the broth- here it was flavourless water, not even broth- literally water. Snapper was overcooked and sides dishes reminded me of airplane food. Burger was adequate. There was zero love in that food. Even bread was just ok. Service was good - no complaints. Won’t be back.
Overpriced and not worth it! Snapper and vegetable were without taste and overcooked. Starter was the wrong one and needed to be changed. Cocktail was diluted. In this price category one can expect friendlier Service. Everything seems to be optimized to get as much as possible out of it. We will not return as there are better restaurants in Naples.
HATE TOWARD CHILDREN! We spend around 300$ for dinner for 2 adults and 1 child. Food was amazing, but we received a comment from employee regarding our kid playing with plastic candle. They said that it is very expensive candle that he was quietly playing with, while it is the same candle you can buy in dollar tree 10 for 1 dollar. While we handle this candle to the employer we did not receive the warm attitude from her. While I enjoyed every bite of food here, last 10 min of being in this restaurant were not the best for our family. The staff should work on their attitude towards children, because our son did not do anything wrong to the candle, he just turned it on and off. While I feel we spent a good amount of money on this place I would not return for a better experience for my child
Our party of four had dinner last night at Chez Boet. Poorly prepared food compounded by bad service. It took nearly two hours for our entrees to come out. Two of the entrees, fish, were cold - not at temperature. The vegetables were bland and uninspiring. The pork entree was small at best. Just a bad experience. And the snippy owner couldn't have cared less. And the restaurant is very loud considering it was half empty.
I always consider this my favorite French restaurant, however last night was awful from the moment we received our appetizers. Our French onion soup was brought cold, though the onions were burnt! Our waitress actually ignored us when we requested bread to eat with our cold escargot. Our entrees were also served cold. The worst part of the evening occurred 20 minutes after we left! We both suffered from food poisoning for the next 24 hours. With so many wonderful restaurants in our beautiful Naples’s area Chez Boet will no longer be on our list.
NOT a French Restaurant This was probably the worst restaurant in Naples, we dined Friday night, starting with horrible uncomfortable chairs, to cold "French Bread" butter that comes in a packet ????? Never seen this is a "French Restaurant" NO NO good wines to pick from, the worst selection ever, I had a petite filet- 6 oz and they had to butterfly it !!!! Service terrible, waiter was good but overwhelmed.... I was wondering why in season there were many tables open, now we know.... I have never been to a "French" restaurant so bad -
Overrated, overpriced and rude staff. Strike 1: Waiter delivered drinks that we DID NOT ASK FOR multiple times then proceeded to charge us for them. Strike 2: Waited 2 hours for our dinner when the restaurant was half empty. Strike 3: They charge $25 for 50 cents worth of pasta. Strike 4: If you don’t tip over 20% your waiter will chase you out of the restaurant asking why you didn’t give them more $$
Not a fancy meal . I went out for a nice fancy meal to celebrate our vacation. They served my food like I could eat at home the same way. Half chicken not much of an effort to make it look great. I can demolish this chicken in the minutes at home but since I was out and in the restaurant I could not. They served with bone which was hard for me to eat with knife and folk.
Drove 4 hour round trip to dine here. From Englewood down to Naples. We each ordered the beef Wellington off the very limited Valentine’s Day menu. We were told it was MR. One was so well done it was like chewing a tire and the other had the mash potato caked in blood with blood all over the plate. We were more inclined to eat the soggy vegetables. Well over $150 per person.
We were extremely shocked and upset by our experience. Horrible service and attitude. It took 50 minutes for the waiter to take our order after asking another waiter and the owner to have our order taken because we couldn't find our waiter. When we spoke to the owner she said it was because we didn't order appetizers so it takes longer for the food to come. We explained we've been in the restaurant industry and how this isn't a factor in backing up the kitchen. We let them know we were waiting a long time. We suggested they offer a free glass of wine or a coffee for the time we waited and were frustrated and she was extremely defensive and rude. She said we were wrong and left. The table next to us asked if we had any luck because they were waiting as long as us for the food. Food and drinks were very small portions and not worth the cost. The owner's husband came and tried sweet talking in his tacky checkered suit and boots. He then brings up our wait time and we explained calmly our experience and he repeated what his wife said. He reacted in a very defensive and hostile way and said we shouldn't ask for a gesture for our time because it costs him money and he doesn't need our business. We almost felt like they were going to fight us. We said we wouldn't come back and he told us never to come back and told us we weren't classy and stormed off. Very rude and should have thicker skin and a more commercial attitude if you're in this business.
I’ve never felt compelled to write a negative review before, but this experience changed that. The food was excellent, as was the customer service. We visited for a family dinner with our 2-year-old, and initially, everything was delightful. We even considered returning. However, the restaurant’s owner or manager approached our table and admonished us not to play with a candle, citing its $20 cost. This interaction felt rude and overly concerned about a replaceable item, especially after we had spent $300 there. Typically, dining out is as much about the experience as the food, but this experience has deterred us from returning. It was disappointing to witness such an unwelcoming attitude towards my child. I wish the business well, but we won’t be returning.
