An incredible find. Flavorful food. Reasonable prices. Helpful and friendly staff. Trust them when they call a dish spicy!!! Lots of vegetarian options.
Great place for delicious Indian food! This is our go to for Indian takeout.
One of the best Indian restaurants I have ever had. Great food, great service.
Great Indian place. Lunch buffet all you can eat reasonably priced. The place was packed with the lunch crowd. Buffets sometimes miss the mark but Muna had a great selection of foods and staff made sure choices were always there. Friendly staff. Highly recommended if you are looking for a good Indian buffet for lunch.
Great Indian food especially for Manhattan. I ordered spicy and as it definitely burned my mouth, the flavor was incredible. The curry was very flavorful and rich, not watery compared to some Indian restaurants in the city. Highly recommend their samosas and garlic naan.
Amazing food, the service was great! Interesting (and good) cocktails as well. We got a thali for our group, and the lamb was excellent. The restaurant is located within walking distance of Grand Central and the city’s main attractions. Try it out! You won’t regret it.
Service was flawless and attentive. Amazing food! Everything we had was top notch.
It's rare to walk into a restaurant in any price point, and be greeted by staff who seem genuinely happy to be there, truly lovely. But as good as the front of house staff are, the food is still the star. Fresh, generous and absolutely delicious.
Food was verrry good! Such flavor bursting in your mouth! The service was wonderful as well!
Muna was such a good find. The service was impeccable where every server and staff had a smile and knew exactly when to come over. Waters refilled when low, a look at any staff meant they knew what you would need. Food was wonderful as well. Larger portions than other Indian restaurants I’ve been to. Overall a great experience at a small mom and pop restaurant.
We stopped here while on our way to London. And on behalf of my family I can safely say that it was some really good food that we haven’t had in a long time. When we ordered ten minutes later the food came with more quality than quantity. An to finish it off the dessert left you with a nice taste that will stick in your mouth for la lot of time. All in all made some good memories with some good food. Reyah!
We had authentic Indian taste food in New york with reasonable price. Staff were really helpful and welcoming. I would highly recommend.
Excellent food and great service- I had a couple of changes to my group dinner reservation and management was so friendly and accommodating at the last second (and they even gave us free dessert with our meal!). This is a great spot for large groups, and the food was very good for the price point.
Incredible service, the food was delicious and well-priced, and there was plenty of vegan choice too! Will definitely visit again if ever in NYC
Pani Puri was good. Saag was one of the best. I liked vegetable filled Momo , thankfully it was spicy to my level only. We will go there again.
When we went to see Times Square, we had dinner at this hotel. It was a great experience. If you want to eat Indian food in New York, then definitely go to this place..
Excellent meal and attentive staff. Just arrived in New York and took a friend here, who’d never had Indian food. He was speechless at every dish, and I was impressed, too. This is a hidden gem, and loved the set dinner menu with an app, dinner, side and dessert all for $30 USD.
The food and service here was absolutely incredible! The flavors are full bodied, robust and flavorful! This is the best Indian food in the state of New York. If you have a chance to eat here, please do! My tikka masala, lentil soup, rasmali, Mango lassi and garlic naan were incredible! Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, and got every order for our party correct. They were very attentive, and the whole evening our entire party enjoyed every single item we ordered from the menu!! I will eat here again next time I am in New York!
Our server's timing complemented the pacing of our meal perfectly. Personnel work with both speed and friendliness. Yelp users steered me toward this excellent spot. My friend and I split this dish. The restaurant exceeds what I expected.
Coming to NY with friend from around the United States, to be so lucky to find such a place like Muna. Service, Food, Personal, Drinks out of this world, Amazing! I work in the Kitchen Industry for many years and had never ever taste something so heart warming! Thank you 🙏 I will definitely catch another plane to come eat here.
We visit often, and the experience is always consistent. The food never disappoints — fresh, flavorful, and served just right every single time. Their Negroni cocktail is a standout: perfectly balanced, smooth, and exactly how it should taste. It’s rare to find a place where both the kitchen and bar maintain such great quality visit after visit. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a spot that delivers every time.
Excellent food! Great service. We tried Tikka Masala and Biryani. There were both great.
The food was very good, full of flavor and authentic taste. On top of that, having such a delicious buffet for just $20 felt like a great deal! Definitely worth it.
The food was delicious, the service was quick and very friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy. Highly recommend this place!
I can count on having a good time whenever I eat here. We were welcomed by attentive personnel. Muna is very cool and service is great. We split one plate and both left completely satisfied. This finishes my comments.
Muna Restaurant: My Go-To in Midtown East Having experienced it firsthand, Muna Restaurant truly stands out as a gem in Midtown East. What always strikes me is the authentic, home-style Indian and Nepalese/Himalayan cuisine, it’s clear they put a lot of care into every dish. From my visits, I can personally vouch for their Chicken biriyani and it is absolute must-try that never disappoint. Beyond the delicious food, the warm and inviting atmosphere always makes me feel right at home, and the friendly, attentive staff really elevates the whole dining experience. It's truly a spot I love returning to for a consistently great meal.
A Hidden Gem in NYC – Muna is a Must-Try! While traveling from New Jersey to Times Square, I wanted to find a great restaurant in Manhattan, and after some searching, I found Muna. Let me just say, it was one of the best decisions I’ve made! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The service was impeccable, with the staff making me feel welcome and ensuring a top-tier dining experience. And the food? Absolutely phenomenal! Every dish was packed with rich flavors, fresh ingredients, and perfect seasoning. You can tell that a lot of heart goes into their cooking. If you’re ever in NYC and looking for an unforgettable meal, Muna should be at the top of your list. It’s a true hidden gem, and I’ll definitely be coming back!
This is the second time that me and my girlfriend eat at this restaurant, and I can tell you from the staff, servers, chef and owner every single one of them has excelled in every aspect of their job. The food is amazing. The drinks are perfect. The flavor is unmatched and the experience and respect they give you is truly something to enjoy. If you are debating on eating here or not I promise you you will not be disappointed!
The food is very good. The green sauce was very bland. I would probably order again. The only thing I don't like is that if I want delivery I have to order $50.00 worth of food.
Muna has a great Indian lunch special. You get two entries and a choice of rice or naan for $16. The only catch is that to get the lunch special, you have to get takeout only. The service was nice while we waited. They let us inside and gave us water to drink. I got the tikka masala and the butter paneer with rice. Everything was pretty good for the value. Tip, ask for the napkins if you get the takeout because they are not in the bag.
Went there for lunch and had a buffet without knowing it had that option. Service was very good and taste of food was also very good served with freshly cooked Naan bread with unlimited refill. Had a good indian style nepalese food in a while. Highly recommend this place to enjoy good food at a very affordable price
Although I am a bit tardy in writing this review, I just had to give my 5 Star review of our visit to Muna's on November 13, 2024. I keep thinking about how fabulous this place is! I use a scooter and when we arrived the waiters were there for our every need, putting my scooter inside out of harms way, knowing the exact table they wanted to seat us at, waiting just a few moments for other patrons to finish up, and then...the FOOD!!! Oh my goodness! We both had the butter chicken and I have to say it was the best I have ever had! I must say the same about the basmati rice, it's crazy I know, but it was so light and fluffy, it was amazing. We did order the garlic naan that was delicious with the dipping sauce provided and our butter chicken sauce, so smooth and creamy. I will be dreaming about this restaurant for years to come and if I ever make it to Manhattan again, this place will be on my definite restaurants to visit. The service and food was beyond the best I have ever had. We did speak to the chef, letting him know how much we appreciated his fine, fabulous fare!
We ordered takeout. It was ready right on time, piping hot and delicious! I would definitely go here again.
So glad we came. From the moment we stepped in we were greeted with a smile 😃 The food was incredible. We had shrimp tandoori, lamb biryani, garlic Naan, and of course the delicious vegetable samosas. Only had N/A drinks available but the Mango lassi was yummy and mum said the NA mojoito was alright. The food was Incredibly delicious 😋 not expensive at all for the huge portions. We will definitely be back in 3 mnths when I come back for treatment :) Ps- hope you get your liquor license back soon. My mum was sad about that! I enjoyed every bit of our dinner. Thank you 😊 🙏
This is a very authentic indian restaurant in new York city that has good ambience and many people come over here to visit and have their delicious food. The rate of the food might be expensive, but the quality and the quantity is good and even locals also enjoy their meal too. The place has a bar as well for occasional drinkers. This is a must visit place, if you are coming to new york
I was at a work function next door and was craving Indian food. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The resturant is also beautifully decorated. I love it when resturants give you complimentary items like papadum, it's a great way to start. A perfect spot for dinner. I had the special which includes an entrée, main and dessert for approx $28. Well worth it, the food was really delicious and a large portion. I'll definitely be returning. Part of a Travel Guru Life Expedition
Recently tried this Muna Indian restaurant in Manhattan, and it was fantastic! The food was flavorful and fresh—especially the butter chicken, which was rich and creamy, and the biryani, which was perfectly spiced. The naan was soft and delicious, too. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they made great recommendations. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, perfect for a nice meal out. Will visit again!
Delicious food. About a 10 minute walk from Summit One Vanderbilt. We were served complimentary fried papad with delicious green chutney as starters. We ordered steamed chicken momos, saag paneer (came with rice), dal fry, lamb curry (also came with rice) and garlic / chili garlic naans. The food was hot and cooked to perfection. The serving size was just right. Later, we were also served complimentary ras malai. We didn't need reservation, we just walked in. The staff was very friendly and kind. Overall, a very pleasant experience.
The dishes here are wonderful and this is my very first time eating here. This spot provides a good evening option. Delightful dishes with attentive waitstaff in a nice environment. The team shows natural hospitality. Good food & good environment.
A place that surprised my family. We searched for close to an hour before we found Muna. We were greeted at the door with warmth and sincerity. Something my family always looks for on our journeys. We had no trouble deciding on our meals as we were guided by the waitress through the wide selection of entrees. We all chose to have a make your own meal with an appetizer, main course, pan and options for even more. I had the Chicken Curry and it was served with rice. Delicious and was presented perfectly. The kids each had a different fish and we all shared. I highly recommend Muna for the perfect lunch that we have had in some time.
If you're on the hunt for an epic culinary adventure that won't break the bank, look no further than Muna. Their all-day prix fixe menu for $28.95 is like hitting the jackpot of Indian cuisine. Stepping into the restaurant you are hit with aromas that will make your taste buds dance with excitement. The atmosphere is buzzing with energy, making it the perfect spot for a fun night out with friends or a cozy date night. Now, let's get to the good stuff - the food! Oh boy, where do I even begin? Each dish on the prix fixe menu is a culinary masterpiece, packed with bold flavors and exotic spices that will transport you straight to the streets of Mumbai. From the chicken samosa to the creamy chicken tikka masala, every bite is a flavor explosion that will leave you craving more. And don't even get me started on the naan - pillowy soft with just the right amount of char, it's perfect for scooping up all that delicious curry goodness. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. So, what are you waiting for? Grab your friends, bring your appetite, and get ready for a flavor-packed adventure at Muna. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
The food at Munanyc is simply outstanding. Each dish is a masterpiece! From the delicious food to the impeccable service, every aspect exceeded my expectations. Kamal, Lokhinda, Ragini, and the entire staff were very catering, attentive, and sweet. Can't wait to return for another amazing dining experience! I would definitely recommend this place!
Incredible food, couldn’t recommend enough. Service fantastic, atmosphere fantastic. One of the best Indian meals I’ve ever had!
My friend I haven’t seen in 30 years and I visited Mina for the first time. It was a cold, rainy November evening and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Our server was so polite and attentive and had such a great sense of humor! . We ordered a sweet Lassi, Naan, chicken korma, samosas and chicken tikka masala. So de-lish! ! Even the popadum appetizer and chutney was so good! Thank you Muna! UPDATE: Came back and got the vegetable Tikka Masala. Also delish! Creamy and yum Sweet Lassy again.
The staff is very attentive and kind. We had the Tandoori Chicken Tikka which did not look like the photo in their online menu but was still very tasty, Butter Chicken, and the Chicken Korma. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We'd definitely go back.
Had a great experience here! The food was absolutely delicious especially the momos! We tried both the steamed veg momos and the fried chili momos, and they were bursting with flavor. I highly recommend them. The cocktails were also on point we had the Karak Jaljira and the Curry Mojito, both unique and refreshing. They also offered us complimentary Kheer which was delicious. Amazing staff, will definitely come back here!
What a find! The service was excellent and the food was delicious. They warned me about the spicy level of the lamb Vindaloo and they were right. But that's why you order it! The garlic naan was soft and tasty, and the veggie samosa was delicious. And they brought complimentary pappadum. All in all, a great meal. I would definitely go back again.
Our son took my husband and I to dinner here tonight. The restaurant is small and cozy. Felt very clean. We were seated immediately after arriving, given a perfect amount of time to look over the menu and our water was poured right off the bat. Our waitress was knowledgeable and helpful in answering questions and the service from our waitress and 2 other males was impeccable throughout the meal. Honestly the most kind, attentive staff I think I’ve ever experienced! AND the food was delicious! Our favorites were the Vegetable Samosas, Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan and the Mango Lassi. A couple of items ended up being “on the house” for NO reason. It was amazing! A little kindness, just because, is so rare these days. We’re going to spread the word and hope this review helps. They run a top notch business and we’re already looking forward to returning the next time we’re in town!
Had a great meal here. Ordered the butter chicken and rice, chicken biryani, a mango lassi, mango chutney, and naan. All of the entrees were hot and flavorful. The chicken biryani was delicious and came with raita. The staff was very kind and attentive and brought a complimentary rice pudding at the end! Would absolutely return and I can’t recommend this restaurant enough to anyone who wants delicious and affordable Indian food.
Great place to come for luncheon. Chicken tikka masala is always tasty and never spicy. Muna does have spicy dishes but lots of all the mild ones for everyone of every taste tolerance. I would love to see Muna feature Gulab Jamun everyday for buffet The rice pudding they have is also delicious. We work in the building next door and often go it's always a very satisfying lunch.
My wife visited with our two young kids, and the staff could not have been kinder. They helped her bring the stroller in and out and were so thoughtful in packing our food afterward as well. Everyone was very friendly, and the food was delicious too. We truly appreciate the wonderful service—thank you!
The care they put into their food shows in every bite. These workers include friendliness in their approach. Despite any variables, the dishes here remain exceptional. Their meals showcase cultural authenticity. I consider this place the quality leader.
I’ve ordered takeout from Muna countless times for lunch and it never disappoints! I usually go for the lunch special, which lets you choose two curries served with either rice or naan. My go to’s are the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Chicken Vindaloo —both are rich and creamy. PSA: The Vindaloo is actually really spicy, so be warned—but it’s absolutely worth it, if you can’t handle it… The naan is OK, though not my favorite. I tried the cheese naan, it was meh… probably wouldn’t order it again. I also tried the chili chicken momo; while it wasn’t particularly spicy, the filling was tasty and well seasoned. Overall, Muna is a solid spot for a decent lunch. I definitely recommend it and I’m planning to dine in eventually.
food was really good. we tried dal, garlic naan, tandoori roti, paneer butter masala, malai kofta. Deducting one star mainly because the sitting area was really hot.
This restaurant's dining hall is immediately a few steps down from the street. The food is excellent. We had an afternoon meal.
After a visit to Vanderbilt in New York, we decided to dine at this restaurant. The location is ideal and easily accessible, with a diverse mix of patrons. The atmosphere was both charming and cozy. We ordered pakora, chicken momo, mutton momo, and thali. Unfortunately, the pakora was dry and tasteless, so we wouldn’t recommend it. The chicken momo was just average—nothing special and could have been juicier. However, the mutton momo was juicy and delicious, and the thali was decent. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was incredibly friendly and even treated us to complimentary mango kulfi ice cream, which was honestly the highlight of the meal. We’re considering coming back during the day to try their buffet.
I went on a first date here for an early dinner on a Friday night. The food was delicious but the atmosphere left a lot to be desired is not one for a date. The vegetarian samosas were better than the chicken version. The butter chicken was excellent. I could go without the garlic naan.
Visited Muna for the 2nd time earlier this week. First and foremost, the food is excellent - all of the dishes hit the mark, starting with the veggie samosas and rounding it off with 3 different curries (my favorite being the chicken korma). Very happy with the different flavors and spices. However, the service and general atmosphere left a lot to be desired. Even though we were one of only a few groups dining, the food took a long time to come out and we had an item wrongly ordered. Muna was gracious enough to comp us for that item, but overall the service detracted from the experience. This could be an amazing dining experience if they can iron out service issues.
I’m from out of town and was waiting by when I saw the ayce lunch buffet sign so I checked the selection which was good and ate there. The pice was reasonable at $20 considering their lunch specials are $16. It has an elegant atmosphere with white tablecloths and soft music in the background. The food was very flavorful just not as spicy as I prefer it. They have an attentive and friendly staff. I will be happy to come back next time I’m in town.
A large two level Indian restaurant by same owners as Sathi in Gramercy park. Gotta shout out to the extra spicy Lamb Vindaloo, good thing we only ordered one for the table. Pakoras were nice and crispy not oily. Loved the yellow dal, wish they were larger. Butter chicken and lamb biryani were excellent, same for garlic naan. Would love to try again.
Customer service was great, no complaints there. Food on the other hand was ok. It was a buffet and even though that's not my preference, it was priced perfectly during the lunch hour ($19.99) and I wanted options. There were several options and all were standard, but nothing truly overwhelming--I believe the lamb curry was the best as the chicken in the other dishes were dry white meat. The biggest thing I noticed were several people taking their used plates back to the buffet to replenish their food (yuck)! Now, I will say I didn't see anyone use the spoon from the buffet dish to touch their used plate, but still--I think there needs to be some oversight about this. Decent though and maybe I'd try something off the menu next time.
The food was not flavorful at all I would expect from Indian food and was missing salt as well, i was very disappointed, the service was poor as if the lady did not want us even to be there and had some attitude. The place on the other hand is very nice and you could easily find a place on a weekend night
Dined at this establishment on February 3rd for dinner. The onion fritters were fried in over used oil as the color is dark brown. The saag paneer dish is nothing what a saag paneer dish would taste like at an Indian restaurant. The dish was flavorless and dry. The staff was unfriendly and kept on breaking glass. I do NOT recommend this establishment to potential diners.
Had some drinks and momo. I ordered a regular margarita and its tasted straight water and lime nothing on it . They gave us some papad as complementary dish it was old and soggyyy. My bf drinks was terrible too. And when we got our MoMo it was bad tasted old. The first time we came we were so happy finding a place like this but this time its disappointing is really bad so we didn’t wanted to eat and we left.
