Walked in at 2am after seeing their FOOD TIL 3 sign. Was busy but not overwhelming. I was craving a lamb burger and the bartender’s response to my “what’s good here?” was “get the lamb burger” - kismet. Ordered it with a side of onion rings to go and everything was delicious and held up well on the walk home. Very very happy to have this place in the neighborhood and will be back!

I finally had a chance to patronize Westland Roe and I was pleasantly surprised enjoyed the visit. I popped in around 5 PM on a weeknight to catch up with a friend. This is an Irish style pub that’s clean and roomy. Best of all it is missing the normal pub smells of stale beer and urine. We had a few pints and flatbread appetizers. Cold beer, good food and reasonable prices. I’ll be back.

I visited this quaint establishment yesterday with my family for the first time and we were pleasantly surpirsed. The atmosphere was relaxing yet the place being busy. Music volume was dead-on, providing nice background nice whilst allowing us to have easy conversation. We were able to watch the College Football Playoffs from anywhere at the table thanks for their TV's size, placement and amount of them! Our cocktails were tasty, nice presentation and we even went for a 2nd round. Food was fantastic - and the Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. Honestly we couldn't have asked for a nicer family meal. Modern - Clean - Effective Service with Great Food. Westland Roe - 5 Stars

I dropped in yesterday for a quick drink to check out the new atmosphere and to say the least it was amazing. I ended up staying for more drinks, and the bartender Johanny was amazing! Very joyful energy. Happy to have you guys in the area. Can’t wait to try the food!!!

Popped in opening night to checkout the vibe then coincidentally ended up here the next day which was marathon Sunday so everywhere was packed include here! Have to commend the staff on being so new and handling the crowd. Very impressed! No stars docked bc I’m glad to have this spot in the neighborhood but if someone asks for a call drink, clarify that instead of using house you’re going more top shelf and ask if it’s ok. Our group is used to NY prices but a few were caught off guard and the price difference was considerable. Other than that staff is great, vibes are getting dialed, and a nice place to watch sports! I did not ask if food was offered but didn’t see any menus.

I love this place! I’m hesitant to leave a glowing review for fear of everyone finding this gem and crowding us out! Food is excellent, service is excellent. I have brought two of my children to have dinner here while the third child was in a nearby art class and they ask me if it’s the day we get to go to the new place they love. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

As the weather gets colder there is only one spot to be in the UWS; Westland Roe. Steps from the 1/2/3 subway, it consistently provides warm Irish hospitality , great food, and the best pint of Guinness this side of Dublin.

The transformation of this historic space is stunning, the Art Deco touches on the ceiling and the stone-fronted exterior give it so much character.

Westland Roe’s location was shuttered for about 10 years -- until late 2024. Great that Westland Roe is now occupying the space. It has a highly attractive and large bar area. Very friendly bar staff. Good and long happy hour with large crowds. Great selection of booze. Very near the Beacon Theater and 72nd St. subways.

Our whole group of friends lives on the Upper West and we are SO happy that this bar opened up. We've needed a great place like this to watch sports and spend the day with friends. We've already been 3 times- last time was the first time we had the food. The menu could use a few more warm bar classics like tenders, wraps, nachos, quesadillas, etc. - more finger foods for groups/sports games...it feels like the menu is still being figured out. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Large space - our favorite place to hang is the high tops, but you could enjoy table seating with family and friends away from the bar space as well. Looking forward to more fun times here!

What a great place! The staff, the food and the vibe/decor ticks all the boxes. I’ve been here for drinks on an evening to catch up with the girlies and on another occasion with my family for dinner. It is so versatile and has a chill and friendly vibe that served both purposes of my visits perfectly. Just recently being there with my two small children the staff were super accommodating which made getting out for an evening meal so enjoyable for myself for my husband, especially when the food is so delish.

This is truly a West Side neighborhood restaurant and bar. The staff went out of their way to help our family member who thought she left a personal item behind (we found it!). We enjoyed delicious burgers, the lamb burger was exceptionally delicious. Wonderful people, they truly care about the food and their customers’ experiences. Thank you!

We came across this new spot randomly on a snowy night after a show at the Met. What a great find! The atmosphere was fantastic—comfortable, beautiful, and welcoming. The service was from the get-go super attentive. It’s a bit surprising this place is so new because it seems like such a well-oiled machine. The steak frites and macaroni & cheese we ordered were absolutely delicious. What a gem of a spot to have in the neighborhood. I look forward to going back!

I randomly walked into this neighborhood spot and was wowed by the service. The classic cocktails are on point and the food is straightforward and very good. I’ve been to Westland Roe a few times now. Sometimes 2-3 of us other times larger groups. I was there Wednesday night for drinks with a group and again tonight for dinner with a friend. It was her first time, so she checked the reviews online. I was floored when she told me about all these bad reviews from Wednesday night. I couldn’t believe what I was reading. I was there that evening when a large group of tourists came in, French I think. When they came in they threw all of their belongings (jackets, coats shopping bags etc) across 4 large tables and sat at another table. Who does that!?!?! The manager politely asked them to place their belongings beside them on the wall shelf, and hooks underneath so other patrons could use the tables. They didn’t take this simple request well and proceeded to be very rude to staff and other patrons. I don’t really post reviews but what these people are saying and doing is simply wrong and completely untrue. Don’t let a few bad apples spoil your good time. This place is great!

Cute new place in the neighborhood. We all flocked to check it out and while it was neat and clean and shiny, it was so loud we couldn’t hear each other. For reference, It was a Saturday night, and Our group was aged 25-35..so not old! Place was only 25% full so the music reverberated the open spaces. It was insane. Staff was young but nice enough, not necessarily attentive. We had to ask for basics like water, menus. Didn’t eat but hear the food is good. Menu is varied and something for everyone. We ended up leaving to go to the local staple where we could mingle, eat and talk. Will give it another try since they’re right in the area.

I wiuld give this a 3.5. This place a fancy Irish bar. I like the ambiance but man is it expensive. Everything. The food was good. The service was a little spotty. I did see one of the bartenders leave the restroom without washing his hands and walk directly back to the bar. So, there's that. Hence the lower rating. It's not a terrible place its just really really overpriced and loud.

Baked Brie rocked but I was charged $15 for a $8 happy hour drink. When I brought it up they said their Whisky Sour is a “specialty cocktail” which is absolutely absurd. I explicitly said well whisky, and they refused to do anything about it.

After being there about 30 minutes, several of us with drinks already in hand, who we assume is the General Manager came to our tables telling us we need to order more drinks or she would forfeit our table as we were wasting space taking up too tables and not ordering enough. Mind you, was there a line at the door of people waiting to be seated? No. We also looked around the room at several tables who either hadn’t started drinking, weren’t drinking at all, or were drinking modestly. We pointed out that six of us had drinks in our hands, and she combatively pointed to my boyfriend, stating, “He has a soda.” We assured her, we would be drinking more, we simply just arrived and were getting settled in. She left the table, restating her point that we weren’t drinking enough. We had a good night; drinks were decent and DJ was subpar, but bar staff and service otherwise was great. We split several tabs across the tables, and I know that the tab between my boyfriend, our friend, and I alone was over $300 so fingers crossed we met her requirements that were not stated or communicated anywhere! Funny thing is we were planning to spend that much, if not more, from the beginning, regardless of if she told us off or not. Although we had a fun night after all of that, her comments and defensiveness really did irk me, as we had a couple sober people in the group who weren’t planning to drink and it’s not lovely to hear that we’re not drinking enough, even though a drink minimum was not listed anywhere in the reservation and was not communicated otherwise. I as well as several people in our group work in customer service and retail/food service managerial roles and we were appalled at the way we were spoken to, being that we would never allow our teams to treat our customers this way. Unfortunately, I don’t see any of us returning in the foreseeable future. What a disappointment.

We split several tabs across the tables, and I know that the tab between my boyfriend, our friend, and I alone was over $300 so fingers crossed we met her requirements that were not stated or communicated anywhere! Funny thing is we were planning to spend that much, if not more, from the beginning, regardless of if she told us off or not. Although we had a fun night after all of that, her comments and defensiveness really did irk me, as we had a couple sober people in the group who weren’t planning to drink and it’s not lovely to hear that we’re not drinking enough, even though a drink minimum was not listed anywhere in the reservation and was not communicated otherwise. I as well as several people in our group work in customer service and retail/food service managerial roles and we were appalled at the way we were spoken to, being that we would never allow our teams to treat our customers this way. Unfortunately, I don’t see any of us returning in the foreseeable future. What a disappointment.

Deplorable service, two waitresses who make fun of us out of the corner of their eye, and who impose tips on us because we are supposedly a big table while our friends who were more than us we choose their tips. I don't recommend it at all

Stopped for brunch. Ordered a Bloody Mary and eggs Benedict. Bloody Mary had a mouth numbing amount of horseradish. Maybe not a bad thing since the eggs Benedict consisted of an English muffin and 2 poached eggs — no Canadian bacon or ham and no hollandaise. Waitress supplied them when I asked but what the ????

Place sucks. Over half the TVs on horse racing and rugby on a college football Saturday. Staff were wholly unhelpful. Guess the inmates run the asylum. Don't go if you are a sports fan

My partner and I have been regulars here for a few months and only recently noticed that a 20% gratuity was being added to our checks. Because it wasn’t clearly pointed out, we had unknowingly been tipping on top of it and leaving close to 40% multiple times. On our most recent visit, the automatic gratuity was suddenly not included — the only difference being that we only had two beers. The inconsistency feels uncomfortable and makes it seem like gratuity is applied selectively. If there’s a policy, it should be transparent and consistent.
