I came here for my birthday and had such an amazing experience. The Chef also came out to greet me and my friend he is soooooo kind and even took some shots with us !!!!! The hospitality and atmosphere was through the roof. I will be coming here more often. For starters, we got the Cauliflower and mussels these were two separate orders, but they were so good. The cauliflower was super crispy and the muscles had a delicious coconut curry sauce paired with some Naan 🫓 The Biryani is also very delicious.
KC is a great bartender! Drinks were fabulous and vibes immaculate. We came for drinks but would love to come back for dinner! Cozy good vibes and good music 💯
Everything was absolutely wonderful, from the cute bicycles on the walls down to the delicious chicken biryani with the fresh naan dome. Would so recommend this incredible Indian spot to locals and tourists alike!
I have been to a lot of Indian restaurants in my life, but Bombay Bistro is at the top of the heap. The atmosphere is amazing and the food is so good. The pakoras, the sagwalla, the masala, all of these dishes have complex, surprising and delicious flavors. The staff is very friendly here. Chef Chetan is working at the top of his game. The food is incredible here. Bombay Bistro is it!
Bombay Bistro is what I would consider a perfect restaurant. It is my favorite restaurant in maybe the entire world. The ambience, lighting, decor, atmosphere, food, service, drinks, everything about this restaurant is perfect. I come often, I have no notes. There is always music, but it is easy to talk, never so loud I can't have an easy conversation. The lighting is just low enough to set a great atmosphere but not so dark you cannot see. The decor is fun, eclectic, engaging, inviting. The food is priced just fine, not the cheapest meal you will have, but not overcharged either, and worth every penny. The food is always amazing. I love the panni puri and the butter muttar paneer. My friends always enjoy the chicken tikka masala. The drinks are always enjoyable and there is a full bar with classic and specialty cocktails. I love Bombay Bistro so much. It is perfect.
Had a wonderful experience at Bombay Bistro today. The food was absolutely delicious and truly lip-smacking. The décor was cozy, comfortable, and perfect for an intimate evening with friends. From the fresh flowers on the table to the attentive service and personal touch by Chef Chetan Patil, everything felt thoughtfully curated. An incredible dining experience—highly recommended!
Bombay Bistro is an amazing place that truly makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure we had a great experience, which made the customer service stand out!!! The food was absolutely delicious, full of rich flavor and cooked perfectly, especially the biryani—it was aromatic, flavorful, and easily one of the best I’ve had. Overall, Bombay Bistro offers great food, excellent service, and a warm atmosphere that makes you want to come back again and again.
Mind. Absolutely. Blown. As an Indian, I’m constantly in search of authentic Indian food wherever I travel—and this place has truly set the benchmark globally. Having tried Indian cuisine across cities in US, Dubai, London, Amsterdam, Barcelona and beyond but I can confidently say that the dishes prepared here—by a standby chef, no less were truly exceptional. It’s the kind of flavour you find only in a home kitchen or from a top-tier 5-star executive chef in India. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Apologies for keeping you waiting until closing time-we were simply enjoying every moment. World-class experience. Will return definitely!!
Visiting New York from India, I returned to Bombay Bistro for the second time—and this time I wasn’t going to forget to write a review. Reuniting with my school friend, Chef Chetan Patil, after 25 years made the experience even more special, but it was the food that truly transported me home. Every dish was packed with authentic Indian flavors: the pani puri tasted just like the best street-style stalls back home, the humble aloo baigan was beautifully done, the fries were unforgettable, and the lamb biryani was rich and aromatic. At such reasonable prices, I honestly didn’t miss India while dining in Manhattan. The restaurant itself is chic and thoughtfully designed, and the bar is a highlight—Oscar, the bartender, crafts incredible cocktails with real flair. The staff, especially Alberto (Steven), is warm, friendly, and make you feel like you’ve known them forever. I’ve also attended a private party here before, and it was a hit—this place is perfect for gatherings. Highly recommend Bombay Bistro for its amazing Anglo-Indian delicacies, hospitality, and truly artistic food crafted by Chef Chetan.
Food and vibe were great! Went here on a date night. Enjoyed the pani puri, lamb biryani, butter chicken, and seekh kebab as well as the cocktails. The decor is giving an old school Indian colonial vibe, and even had old amitab bhajan movie playing in a corner. Service was very attentive. Would come back!
Bombay Bistros in the West Village is a great spot if you're craving flavorful Indian food. Every dish I tried was packed with rich spices and bold flavors, and the portions were just right. The service was also impressively fast — perfect for a quick lunch or casual dinner. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to when I’m in the area.
Wonderful experience dining at Bombay Bistros in West Village midweek for a date night - the food was quality, delicious, authentic & generous in portions. We had the dinner prix fixe - and was pleased with the options of entree, side, naan & included an alcoholic beverage that was very reasonably priced. The prix fixe didn’t skimp on portion size as some often do - and the value of wine/cocktail choices was great. AJ was a welcoming manager and we had She serve us with smiles, warmth and excellent hospitality. Great Indian restaurant in West Village!
My family and I made reservations and enjoyed dinner at this charming restaurant. Loved the decor and ambiance was amazing, lots of small but classic touches on detail to the interior. Restroom door knob, wall lamps, paintings on the wall to the charming bar...all done with a lot of thought. We tried multiple appetizers and main dishes, all of them had tons of flavor. Impressive and friendly service. We will definitely be going back with more friends to experience this hidden gem.
This is a nice place to go on a date or meet up with friends or family. The ambiance and decor are a bit unique and that is the main attraction here. The service is very good. Staff are attentive and friendly. The food is pretty good. It's not the best Indian I have had. However, it is tasty. They make biriani authentic style with atta sealed on top. It's definitely worth a try!
Food was great. Lots of flavor. We tried the Lady Luck and Aperol Spritz drinks, my coworkers didn’t seem to love theirs. Staff was nice, service was average, they didn’t check on us much, forgot to give us a dessert menu, and at one point, stopped refilling our water glasses. But again, the staff was nice. Tried a few appetizers, they gave us Indian milk donuts on the house, and were out of rose ice cream so gave us delicious chocolate cake. The booth seating was a bit uncomfortable in that it sort of felt like you were forced to sit super upright. It’s a small place with fun decor. A great spot for a meal! The food is actually tasty. Which is why it is sad that they are racist towards Indians/Sub-continent people. Read through the comments and see that most negative comments are from Indian/Subcontinent people. We made a reservation and arrived exactly on the dot. Same number of Caucasians as us entered just in front of us without reservations. The Asian lady manager, very calmly but firmly, told us they will be seated first because "they arrived first". I also observed people coming in after us. Indian people were seated at corners/stools/etc. White people were sitting on Sofas. We were first seated on the Sofa by the Asian waiter. The manager came to us, very aggressively, and asked us to move to another seat, moving our cutlery. We didn't choose the seat. Your staff seated us...The sofa we were seated on remained empty throughout the time we were eating. The capacity of the seat we were sitting on and moved to was the same. It's not a big deal. It's just a weird experience. After that, I noticed that the Asian waiter was all smiles with white people. Extremely transactional with the Indian people. Almost angry. Again, nothing extreme towards my table. Just the general vibe. It was a bizarre experience. I have only felt blatant racism towards myself 2 times in my life. Once in Singapore during an argument and this was the second time. Most racists have the grace to hide it, especially towards their customers. Bizarre thing is that I don't fully understand why in this case. It's an Indian restaurant. The staff is Asian. Why are they racist towards Indian/Sub-continent people? No clue. Either way. Food is good. Monkey theme is nice. Staff needs anti-racism training. Note: If the owners read this, please feel free to contact me. It was my first (and probably last time) visiting your restaurant. The racism wasn't directed just at me but ALL Indian patrons I saw (3 tables). I don't know if other people are complaining but you need to talk to your staff and find out the source.
