Hubs and I stopped in here for a drink around 11:10 PM. The service was AMAZING! Lorenzo is an AWESOME bartender! I used to work as a bartender, so he understood my pickiness with drinks & made me a custom Lorenzo drink! Haha it was so good! My husband and I then had a drink with whiskey in it (on their menu) and it was delish! The views are gorgeous too and it’s very spacious for a rooftop bar. Visit Lorenzo at the bar! And thank you sir for giving us top tier service!

Love this place everyone who works here is super friendly and there’s a real camaraderie amongst them which I appreciate. The food was delicious. I’m a huge fan of breads & cheeses… the house made ricotta was out of this world best ricotta I ever had and the naan bread was perfect! I had a regular espresso martini they have their own espresso martini w brandy but I kept it simple (not big on brandy) Dylan is an amazing bartender! Thanks to all of you at Castell rooftop! I will be back again!

Decor of the place is top notch and pretty solid views on the patio deck. Prices are naturally what you’d expect but drinks were good quality. Happy hour is significantly cheaper. Main disappointment was the relatively small selection (and in particular variety) of house cocktails in the menu considering its a rooftop bar establishment

Overall rating: 4.8 What a beautiful rooftop in Times Square. I know I’m surprised myself too 😅 you know these rooftop bars, you really never know what you’re going to get. But I really liked it! I believe I went on a happy hour & they had a great deal. Available Monday to Friday from 4-6 & it’s worth it. $12 old fashioned, come on!! Wow oh wow. And it was good, not watered down. This is a very rare statement, but I recommend for tourists & locals. 😅 but do lower your expectations for a good view. It is Times Square lol

Best deal right now is their seasonal Passion Fruit Sangria. Without a doubt, you would not be disappointed. Best value for your money. Storm was our host and he was excellent. We had a lovely experience here. The place is beautiful— inside and out. We dined outdoors, and I was very impressed that the brought a blanket for each of us. They also had a heat lamp directly next to our table, shining on us the whole time. It was probably 40 degrees but I had my coat off the whole time and was nice and warm. Wait staff were very friendly and food was good. Ambiance was amazing. A little pricey, but given its location, within reason. They let us stay talking as late as we wanted without rushing us. I’ll definitely be back!

Cool bar roughly 20 stories high with decent views and outdoor covered and heated area. They did ask for a minimum spend for a group reservation but it was reasonable for the number of people and pretty standard ordering. Overall thought it was just ok. For starters the “oven” was broken so our menu was limited to only a handful of cold plates (and somehow the al pastor tacos too). They were all good but portions were a little small and tough for sharing. Drinks menu was great and I thought prices reasonable. If they had more menu items available I’d give a 4th star but was a little disappointed with limited offerings due to the oven issue.

I believe this place is one of the fancy bars in the downtown. It is at the top of the hotel, and I could see the cities night sightseeing because it has the rooftop. The drinks were not that cheap, but they were not that expensive. It was a good place to chill, and I think it will be good if you have not been here once.

Made a reservation for a 4 pm slot for drinks and small bites before a Broadway show. It was not crowded at all since it was so early. We were prompted to show our vaccination cards right after we got off the elevator. Got the eggplant dip which came with some pita. I definitely thought it was going to be like babaganoush, but it was not as smoky. The dip was definitely on the more salty side. The staff gave us some extra pita to finish mopping up the dip after we ran out of our initial batch. Drinks were sufficiently strong. Great spot to drop by close to the theater district. I can only imagine how crowded it gets closer to dinner time, especially with such nice views of the empire state. I hope to come back in the summer to sit out in the outdoor area!

The Brothers Buoy

Really great somewhat hidden gem in an otherwise wasteland of an area for good spots. The view from the roof is awesome, the decor inside is beautiful (that terrazzo! That leather!) and the cocktails are really something special. Bring a date here or some out of town guests and get ready to get some serious praise.

I had reserved a specific area for an overdue group outing. We were looking forward to meeting up as a group as it had been so long and wanted it to be special. I had been to Castell before and saw this beautiful fireplace with a large u-shaped sofa and stools around. I emailed the event person and asked to reserve this spot. After back on forth on her wanting me to book a corporate event (which it wasn’t) for 11 people, she said we would be able to reserve the space in front of the fire place but only with a minimum spend of $750. I said that’s fine and asked if she needed a card, she said no and that we would just pay on the night. I had booked over a month in advance. When we get to the bar which was around 10mins after our reservation, we were escorted to the back area on the terrace where it was cold and uninviting. When i asked the host that I had emailed a month ago and had reserved the fireplace area which had been confirmed, she said oh yeah, another party ended up booking after you and it was a corporate event so we gave it to them. I asked why no one had contacted me to tell me why the reservation had gone, she just said oh, I don’t know. This was one of the main reasons for making the reservation so had I had known they gave up our reservation, I would have made other plans. So we’re seated in this freezing cold terrace (it’s the end of Jan) away from music and people. There are two heaters above our heads which one of them is partly working as one heat bar had gone out. Then the server who saw us sat there with coats on put two more heaters out. It was mildly better so we made do and sat drinking and eating with our coats on. 10mins later, the heaters go out. We asked if they can be switched on and they said they couldn’t. The other tables further down the terrace had left, possibly because it was so cold out on the terrace. We asked to be moved inside (and by the way, I had noticed that two people had occupied the fireplace section, still hadn’t seen a corporate party come through and it was after work hours at this point). They decided to move us to the host table area away from the bar and people but we took it as it was soooo much warmer inside than out. Aside from our server who was really nice and attentive, the event and management service was not good, lacked communication and customer service. It’s a shame as the drinks are pretty decent and the chicken lettuce wrap is quite nice. This one experience showed the unprofessionalism of this place and how customers are treated. Little ironic. Used to work across the road from this place years ago. In fact, there was an empty lot and we would watch this hotel being constructed and would wonder how it would turn out. Now I know.
