Nice spot for a cup of coffee, snack or light meal. Pastries are very good - had a filo koulouri stuffed with tomato etc which was very tasty. Enough to evoke a review...
I was looking for a place were to study and I found this cafe, loved the cappuccino I had, loved the atmosphere, unluckily it’s quite far from where I live but I can’t wait to be back.
Great addition. This area was in need of a good, warm, coffee shop. The ambiance is what makes this place desirable. The owners are very nice and friendly. Hopefully they start a punchcard rewards program.
The owner is extremely nice along with the rest of the staff. I have never had a bad experience here and I can really tell they care about their customers. It genuinely feels like a European experience in New York city. I highly recommend!
Very friendly staff and amazing products
Great place! Wonderful food and drinks, reasonable price, lovely atmosphere and music and people!! I got an iced latte, banana loaf and yogurt (but I wanted to try everything). Love this spot
Clean, well lighted place to drink coffee, read for a bit and meet a friend. Donut was delicious as well. Nice spot + you can people watch out front window onto 2nd. You'll come for the coffee and return for the 🍩! PS. NYC WiFi spot right out front but please don't ruin this wonderful cafe by camping out with your laptop.
Tumeric latte was lovely and gingery. Lots of tables and although not super quiet, I was possible to have a normal decibel level conversation without any issues. Lots of croissant and other sandwich options as well as baked goods.
This is such a lovely place for hot, cold drinks and awesome fresh sandwiches… Owner and staff so polite and accommodating. And!! If you are a dog parent - well, welcome to doggie heaven! They have dog treats all day every day! Highly recommend 😀⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Best coffee i had in 12 days in NYC.
Our drinks were delicious, coffee was great! I got the hazelnut iced latte and I really enjoyed it! The service was efficient! Ordered and shortly after we paid, we had our drinks.
Best coffee in town. They have amazing matcha!! And their food is great for a quick bite.
Came here hungry and tired from boston. And I left fed and energized. The people here look genuinely happy to work here. The food is delicious and I wish my stomach was big enough to try everything. The owners are amazing people great story.
Friendly staff, lots of seating, great coffee and food! I’ve gotten the cheese/spinach pies and salads- all yummy! This is my go to coffee spot when I’m in the area!
Love that place! Great latte! And the food is really good as well! The team is wonderful super friendly! And my dog brings me back every day to have some treats! ;)
So thankful they landed in this neighborhood. The sweetest staff that recognize customers and pay attention to detail. Great for coffee but also a sandwich on the run, much better than the premade processed junk at Starbucks next door.
Great coffee and friendly staff
The service was very good! Definitely recommend
Muffin and chai latte were perfect, both fresh and right amount of sweetness Space is super cute and well lit Staff was kind and accommodating. Would definitely come back.
Nice addition to the neighborhood. I had one of their almond croissants this morning and really liked it. I'll be back to try some of their other offerings. Seems like a lot of unique choices!
I stumbled upon this charming coffee shop downtown, and it’s been a game-changer ever since! The coffee is top-notch, brewed to perfection with a rich, bold flavor that keeps me coming back for more. And let’s talk about the food and pastries – absolutely delicious! But what truly makes this place special is the owners. They’re not just running a business; they’re creating a community. Their passion for coffee is infectious, and they treat every customer like family. Whether you’re a regular or a first-timer, you’ll feel right at home here. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. You won’t be disappointed!
I love this cafe - it’s one of the best ones I’ve worked in in new york. The ambiance is so relaxing and I got the freshly squeezed orange juice which is such a refreshing addition to the menu. The cafe is so clean and just a great place to sit and work with a friend or just chat - huge bonus is that cute dogs are always coming in and out :)
We got a greek frappe and a freddo cappuccino, with excellent. Nikos was so warm and helpful--we will definitely be back!
staff is always so lovely here, great place to grab a cup to go or sit and chat or do work for a bit. dirty chai is my favorite from here, and all the pastries are excellent. if i’m nearby this shop for breakfast, i love to grab a croissant sandwhich
The baristas were so sweet and helpful with choosing which pastry to try out. I had an iced matcha latte which was delicious and also a double chocolate chip muffin which was just as good.
This is a great neighborhood coffee shop! They know how to pull a proper shot of espresso and the food offerings are delicious. They also have many gluten free options which is a huge plus!
Just stopped by today and am so excited about this new spot! The staff is super friendly and welcoming. There’s plenty of seating and it was a great setting for me and my friends to catch up. I had an amazing iced coffee and will definitely be back to try out some of the baked goods that caught my eye!
Great new addition to the neighborhood. Went on a Sunday afternoon and was able to find a place to work- tons of seating and outlets. Iced oat milk latte was good but the real stunner was the Spinach pie! A bit expensive but no more than other non-chain coffee places in the Neighborhood. Will come back!
Wow! This beautiful cafe just opened in my neighborhood. Came in to get a latte ☕️ and one almond croissant 🥐 and it was phenomenal! Coffee was super tasty and almond croissant was super delicious and fresh. Super super clean and the staff was so friendly and very welcoming. Definitely recommended this cafe. You have to visit and give it a try.
what an amazing addition to our neighborhood, the cappuccino is delicious and so is the olive cake! the place is super clean and the staff couldn't be nicer. our little dog Hercules also loves the new spot which has outdoors seating!
The new favorite blissful coziest cafe in town has arrived! Love the energy of positivity and livelihood surrounding the greeting staff and owners of this little local gem. Come to your new getaway paradise where sunshine is always lit on smiles of the staff greeting you as you come in to experience a different type of service where you are treated as a family ❤️ The freshest variety of coffee options with Greek specialties and breakfast and lunch bites will make you feel what Mama Mia story is all about 😊 So glad we have such a pet friendly environment there too so I could bring Mr Lance aka wolfpack leader along for a heavenly best Greek yogurt treat taste for him too 🐶 Come and indulge in the element of comfort where the warmth of the soul of the staff is poured into every cup and bite!
Big recommendation from us! The food and drinks are so delicious and the service is awesome. We came here everyday during our New York Trip. So if your are looking for great coffee or snacks this is the place to be. Best wishes from your german friends Nico and Nele.
Very happy to have CupSoul in the neighborhood! I was skeptical when they first opened but was quickly won over by their attentive service, delicious pastries and the communal atmosphere inside the cafe. There is always wonderful ambient music playing and the owners and staff go above and beyond to deliver excellent customer service.
This is place is absolute perfection when it comes to local cafes. Fantastic customer service. Good quality baked goods and pasties (try the carrot cake). Great music. Comfortable seating. I would not change a thing. Shoutout to Niko and Froso for blessing the neighborhood with this little gem 🙏
Get the cappuccino made with espresso fromThunderhead. Devine. Drip coffee from Onyx was also lovely. For the non coffee drinkers, the London Fog is truly worth the trip. The owners are a sweet soft speaking couple that welcome locals and newbies alike. Totally worth a trip off the highway!
What a lovely addition to the neighborhood. Run by a charming Greek family who takes pride in serving quality, fresh sandwiches, salads, coffee and sweets. The cafe is tastefully and sustainably designed and has made a positive impact on the locals since they opened their doors Monday morning.
A charming neighborhood gem with consistently smooth coffee, a cozy atmosphere, and a friendly team that makes every visit a highlight of the day.
Terrific spot for quick breakfast or to park and work. Owner and staff are amazing, incredibly welcoming and friendly. Croissants and Greek pastries jot to be missed. A neighborhood gem!
i come in every day for my coffee, and the staff never fail to make me feel welcome. excellent service every time!
Rarely am I impressed with cafes in NYC. The bar is high with the number— there are some really good and much more mediocre. The coffee is great, the service is efficient, there’s tons of seating and outlets to work. I had the mortadella and pesto sandwich and it stopped me in my tracks. Great spot. Worth it to stop if you’re in the area for lunch or if you need to work quietly for awhile.
This is my favorite iced oat milk latte not only in all of nyc but also the best one I’ve ever had. And the team that works here is incredibly friendly. So wholesome with dogs and kids visiting too
I really love this café! My friend and I came here after school to grab some sweets and study, and we enjoyed every bit of it. The atmosphere was great—the plants and décor created such a cozy vibe. The doughnuts were delicious, and the prices were quite reasonable, around $3.50 each, with a wide variety of flavors to choose from. I haven’t tried the drinks yet, but I’m excited to, and I’ll have more to say once I do. The WiFi is a bit slow, but it’s nice that they offer it.
Very cozy café! It was clean and comfortable. The donuts were absolutely delicious — fresh and soft. I definitely recommend this place and will come back again!😊
Aside from the fact that they serve the best Americano and sandwiches I’ve had in this neighborhood, the atmosphere of this place is immaculate! Always greeted by friendly and genuine people who I look forward to seeing as I get my order. There’s a touch of their Greek culture in the menu and ambience, with a fun and modern twist. This is the perfect spot to add to a routine and I’m happy to support such lovely people too!
Yannis and Johanna (I’m definitely spelling both of their names wrong 🙃) were so kind, fun, and friendly! I come here regularly with friends, it’s a great place to sit and chat. Their bombolone is delicious!
This is an excellent and cozy coffee shop. Me and my girlfriend sat and did work enjoying an iced matcha and iced mocha and Giannis, our barista, was so kind and personable. I highly recommend thing. The drinks and desserts are superb and the atmosphere is so nice and welcoming.
Beautiful interior, calming music, and coffee made with real care. Every detail here is thoughtful — from the latte art to the fresh pastries. You can truly taste the quality in every sip. A hidden gem that deserves to be known by all true coffee lovers.
CupSoul Cafe is a true haven, offering a comfortable, spacious, and airy environment perfect for enjoying your favorite coffee. Indulge in a vibrant array, but not overwhelming, selection of delicious donuts, or savor a perfectly sized and wholly delicious sandwich. With ample seating and calming background music, it's an excellent spot to relax or get some work done.
Ah I love this cafe, I went here with my friend to get some sweets and study after school and enjoyed everything about it. They had such a nice environment the plants and everything made it look so nice. The doughnuts were really good and for a nice price. I can’t wait to try their drinks but I’ll have more to add when I’m finished. WiFi is very slow though but it’s nice they offer it. Doughnuts cost about $3.50 and I say it’s a good price cause they have a lot of different flavors.
service was outstanding! i typically like a more laid back spot to read and chill while i dose myself with caffeine, however, if you like a clean, positive and high energy coffee source, this is your place!
One of my fav cafe shop! Amazing spot for studying or working with a great cup of coffee and a variety of delicious pastries. The seats are comfortable and clean. The workers are friendly and there is free Wi-Fi. I took one star off because I wish they could provide more gluten free options of pastries.
Excellent new coffee shop. Tons of indoor and outdoor seating with fresh squeezed orange juice. Good selection of pastries but didn’t try any. Matcha latte was fresh and authentic. Extremely clean!
This cafe is gorgeous, with great food and lovely ambience. My only recommendation would be to dim the lights a bit for more atmosphere. It's just a bit too bright for a cafe. Good luck with your new business.
Really clean space with enough seating area to be able to find a space. Good atmosphere. Food is a bit overpriced, but $0.50-$1 more is ok for me for a good environment to work in. There was WiFi, but taking 1 star off because you need to ask the folks for a password. After ordering they should just be able to hand you a piece of paper or something. Asking for the password feels awkward - as if I’m asking for a favor, as opposed to something that’s part of the service.
I purchased a Freddo cappuccino, the feta and spinach pie (basically Spanakopita), and a cookie. Though it was pricey, I was satisfied with the taste of everything. I didn’t stay so I can’t comment on the vibe, but it appeared to be a cozy and modern cafe.
Super nice staff, excellent coffee. Only criticism, which is quite important in my view is the total absence of use of mugs / cutlery and thus systematic use of disposable plastic. This is often the case in NY and is very unfortunate, in a time where we should all give some thought to the world that surrounds us.
Efficient service, inviting ambience and lovely menu. Everything about this place was almost perfect. Lovvvvved the tomato olive spiral (forget what it was called on the menu, but was part of the vegan option) it was absolutely 💯 and the red velvet muffin was perfect. The cronut, not so much. The coffees were good too and the prices are just right. There is just the right amount of seating for a cafe and the overall vibe is welcoming. We are certainly gona be coming back again.
First time having iced coffee and it was okay. The olive oil Bundt cake was really yummy. Fast service. What killed it for me where the lack of outlets and the Wi-Fi is sooo slow. I couldn’t load websites so I had to leave to find another place to get work done
Honestly I really enjoy the items they have to offer, the lattes and yogurt being some of the options-- but some employees just come off as rude 🥲 some (usually early morning) are very kind ! But when I come in the afternoon, some of the staff are not that kind. When I try to put in my number for points they skip it and go straight to the tip screen. What's the point of rewards if I can't redeem em, yknow? And I'm all for tipping, but at least be nice 🥲 they just come off as dismissive and rude. And while I totally get it, customer service jobs aren't the best, it also isn't nice to make someone else feel bad for it. In all, idk if I'll return.
just alright. has pretty good seating and an accessible location right next to the park. tried to take a meeting here and it was so loud between other people and the music. the wifi is also not the best, so i definitely recommend coming here to causally meet up with friends but anything work related is challenging.
The lemon blueberry bar was completely tasteless. Needs about 4x more lemon flavor. It was also very dry to the point were your whole mouth would dry up. The coffee was ok… I feel like they need to completely redo their pastries judging by what I had
The food was expensive for the quality. I paid 6.25 for a pain au chocolat that was honestly kind of stale and not flaky at all. However, the atmosphere is very warm and welcoming and would highly recommend coming here just as a place to work or study.
It used to be very difficult, almost impossible, to find an espresso in NYC, let alone a good one. Now you can have one in any coffeshop. But it’s very expensive… actually coffee in general in NYC is very expensive. That’s a fact but it’s a standard so there’s not much to do about it, I guess. Another standard is that clerks always assume we will leave with our coffee and they serve it in a paper cup without asking. Paper cups are good when you want to walk with you coffee but when you want to sit and relax having a coffee, you should be able to get a real cup: it’s nicer and that means less waste. Cupsoul is no exception, they serve good coffee but they serve it in a paper cup, unfortunately… and it’s expensive, about $15 for 3 coffees… I didn’t have any pastry but I saw that pastries are expensive too… but again that’s a standard. Pretty chill atmosphere inside, at least. Quality & taste: 8/10 Quantities: 7/10 Atmosphere: 7/10 Originality: 5/10 Ratio price / quality: 6/10 Service: 6/10 How I felt afterwards: 6/10 More on IG @runnerandfoodie
Nice staff, work fast. Got a Cronut and an iced oat matcha latte with vanilla. For the approximate $14 I spent, it was all kind of average. Nothing really special. Matcha was a bit darker than what I usually drink and had a bitterness (barely tasted the vanilla I paid for), though I would argue drinkable and not as bad as some other reviews have stated. Cronut tasted under baked. Overall, would just stick to my usual cafe or try another place.
Modern and casual cafe. Large amount of seating. Bar stool seating includes lots of natural lighting, albeit there’s lots of scaffolding outside right now. Upbeat beat “unts unts unts” music drove me a bit crazy. They offer 2 options for drip coffee: house blend, and single origin. I asked where the single origin was from: the barista said Colombia and Ethiopia. Sounds like not single origin! After some clarification, the coworker clarified the single origin was only from Ethiopia. The drip coffee was fine. Clearly the beans were over roasted, and the coffee over extracted: it drank like a medium/dark roast, tasted bitter, and smelled like diner coffee. Seems like a disservice to the Ethiopian beans! Sammy L Coffee is a much better choice if you’re in the area! Additional amenities: bathroom, large pastry selection. Drip coffee score: 2/5. Everything else score: 4/5. Overall score: 3/5.
I was really in the mood for a matcha latte, being a huge matcha lover and having tried countless versions across the city. The ambiance when I entered this place was great, but oh boy, the matcha latte here was a major disappointment. It was a water-like drink with barely any flavor. I'd honestly prefer Starbucks because at least they have consistent recipes. I ended up tossing out the latte after just a few sips, wondering how on earth it cost me $8. To add to the disappointment, I noticed an employee cleaning by spraying Windex directly on the open glass where food was sitting. It's common sense that chemical particles are going to end up on the food! And to top it off, the clerk handling muffins with bare hands—did she even wash them? I highly doubt it. Am I planning to return? Absolutely not. This experience was a letdown on multiple levels, and I'll be sticking to places that prioritize both taste and hygiene in the future.
The food can be good, as can the drinks. However, the prices are comedically high and the owner obviously favors those he thinks he can extract money from. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I don't plan to return.
Service was unwelcoming/curt, got a pastry with sour feta cheese in it, and the WiFi was slow and nearly unusable. Planned to just pop in to use my laptop for an hour, but after several disappointments within a span of 15 minutes I had to leave.
i have one star is not because it deserves it, it’s because the lowest is one
I got a scone that was old and dry and after telling the management about it, no apology or replacement was offered and simply blamed on my ‘perception’. Rude and no customer service, very odd for NYC.
Stupid expensive prices for mediocre drinks. I paid $8.44 for an iced chai latte with oatmilk but it tasted like a heavily watered down horchata. They charge extra for iced drinks and alternative milks. Why am I paying more for less drink and frozen water??? The cashiers were curt.
The matcha is low quality. Very nasty. They also charge for ever minor thing and won’t adjust your drink if you’re unhappy.
Terrible customer service. I ordered an iced matcha latte, and went to my seat. I saw they called out an iced Americano, a drink I have never ordered in my life. When they said it was for me, I told them what I had ordered, but they maintained I had ordered an Americano. I had paid the price of an Americano, and asked if they would charge me the difference, but they wanted me to pay for a whole new drink. I left the Americano and walked out. I practically live out of cafes and have never experienced such a thing. A masterclass in customer retention.
The staff here are extremely nasty and rude. They are playing old European music and imagining themselves to be better than everyone. Very disgusting, the food is old, stale and has no flavor.
Customer service. Here every morning for the past month visiting.. and never greeted with a hello or have a good day from the owner. But see other locals they know or like are greeted. Why can’t everyone get the same customer service experience, only locals do?
They gave us the WiFi but it was not showing up on the list. And the matcha latte I got was disgusting and I wanted to remake the drink but they said the best they can do is trash it and have me pay for a new drink. The cookie was good but stay away if you’re looking for a place to work.
I used to love this place and would stop by everyday before going to work. Today I bought one of their spinach and feta pies, I took a bite and all of the crust was hard to the point I couldnt chew it. I went back to ask for a fresher one and who I guess to be the manager not only said I couldn’t get it changed but grabbed the pie and squeezed it with her hands and said it was soft in the middle. I left embarrassed to be honest and got to work and tried to eat it and it is so obvious that this pie has been sitting there for a while. I can understand that some things might not be freshly made but what upsets me the most is the attitude from this woman. Not my first time having a bad experience with her. Never coming back.
I have been going to CupSoul Cafe at 165 Third Ave a few times a month, past year or so. On Sunday, November 3rd, at about 1130am, I walked in and asked if I could use the rest room. The gentleman behind the counter said I needed to purchase something and the combo for the rest room would be on the receipt. I let the person know that I was a regular customer and I just wanted to use the rest room for a minute. He said it didn't matter I had to purchase something. I then went over to the other gentleman behind the counter and was told the same thing. I asked if it was worth loosing a customer over this and his actions told me that he didn't care. I am a 71 year old, well dressed (at least I think so) individual who simply wanted to use the rest room for a minute. Not only was my request refused, but the negative, non caring attitude of both people behind the counter was the opposite of good customer service. I understand and difficult situation retail establishments grapple with about the use of their facilities. I get it, but the attitude that both coworkers displayed left me with such a bad feeling - I felt bullied. They just didn't care, weren't empathetic, and questioned my honesty about being a customer - I will never go to CupSoul again and I urge others, of all ages, follow my lead. There are plenty of alternatives for coffee within a few blocks.
Staff is obnoxious and works at their pace, not that of the customers. And prices are outrageous. Seems to be a coffee clatch for the Moms from an exclusive private school nearby. It's a nice space; shame thatn it is run by such arrogant, detestable, people. AVOID.
This is constructive feedback for the establishment: I was forced to make a purchase exactly when the owner decided, just to be allowed to stay seated. I found the way I was approached quite disrespectful, as I had just finished lunch and was waiting a bit before ordering a coffee while sending some emails. I ended up buying the coffee but didn’t feel comfortable staying. This attitude makes it seem like the establishment only cares about taking the customer’s money, instead of building a genuine connection and relationship that would make people want to come back. That’s not what good entrepreneurship looks like.
