Kismat is an exquisite dining experience. They have the best Indian food I've ever had. Their prices are very competitive, and the staff is among the nicest and most attentive I have experienced in this sector of the service industry. A welcome addition is their new Sunday buffet complete with everyone's favorites. The food is fresh, delicious, and it is extremely obvious the chef and owners take pride in what they serve to their customers. The spice level is mild which can be elevated if you like to live dangerously, making this a safe place to try the cuisine for the first time. I eat here regularly and will continue to do so.

Having been to this restaurant before, it was the spot I chose to celebrate my wife's 50th Birthday party. I used their online service to make reservations and that was a cinch to do. I called the restaurant a few days before the party to make sure that the reservation had in fact been placed, even though I did receive a confirmation email. Street parking can be tricky but there is a parking garage around the corner and it only cost $25 for 4 hours. Once inside, the table for our party was all setup and awaiting the guests. I did bring a cake which the waiter carried off until it was time. Drinks, appetizers, and entrees were all placed and after getting lost in conversation, the appetizers began showing up which was rather quick! The entrees came out about 30 minutes later and everything, I mean EVERYTHING, was amazing! There were a few leftovers which were packed up to go. The cake was brought out and we celebrated. After having the cake, we just kicked back and enjoyed the atmosphere and had a great time. We weren't rushed to leave, which was really nice. Kudo's to the waiter who sat at an empty table and entertained my wife's 3 year old niece, showing her how to use a calculator. Amazing food, amazing staff! Do yourself a favor and give them a try. You will not be disappointed! Sidenote: The green sauce they serve is amazing and as one of our guests put it..."The green sauce is LIFE!"

Best Indian food uptown hands down. Large portions (and I mean laaarge!) and they'll do the spice level you prefer. Menu can be intimidating, but everything I've had there has been great. The appetizer platter in particular is my fave, I always get that. Ordering out is fast and simple though they always seem to forget silverware. Oh, and the green sauce is like heaven, I want a whole vat of it at my house so I can just put it on everything.

Amazing! Excellent, high quality Indian restaurant. The gluten-free vegan Naan is so good and tastes just like normal. Samosas were great too. Don't skip the traditional Indian desserts on the menu!

Went here for the Washington Heights Jazz festival. What a delight! The food was excellent (I ordered the lamb vindaloo), and the service was beyond my expectations. Of course it was also all enhanced by live jazz music at the time!

First time in today for lunch and had the mushroom saag. For $12.95 ($14.25 total) you get the saag, rice, naan, cute baby samosas and chai iced tea. I came in to fuel up before walking on the George Washington Bridge and I’m so glad I did! Looks like they have live music and karaoke, too. I’ll have to come back! Really lovely experience!! Dude… The tamarind sauce they have? Its soo good, the frozen margaritas hit the spot and I had the Salmon Tandoori for lunch..10/10 it was a big piece of fresh salmon in a killer marinade and some of the softest naan I’ve ever had. I was the first customer there and was surprised how peaceful the atmosphere was. The owner Sam was really nice and inviting, and my waiter was quick and friendly. I would definitely recommend this spot to all my friends and family!

Lovely place, friendly staff. I’ve dined in, gotten take out and deliveries and always had great food either way. Fair prices, and they sometimes have a live band. Haven’t tried the alcoholic drinks so can’t comment on that but the food is wonderful.

We've been here many times and it's always been lovely and delicious. This time though we hosted my father-in-law's memorial here and they were so kind and wonderful. They had a great projector set up for us for displaying photos and a PA system so people could give remembrances. The food was wonderful and they were all so very kind to us. I highly recommend Kismat and Sammie (and all the other lovely folks working there) whether for lunch, dinner or special events.

We've been semi-regulars and huge fans for more than a year, but I finally had to post a review when I saw the one-stars—are you kidding? This is our go-to spot in the neighborhood for both delivery and dine-in. The food is great, the staff is so kind and friendly, and we always have the best experience. We appreciate a well-labeled menu too as people with dietary restrictions. Everything is labeled for vegetarians, vegans, and those who are gluten-free. There's even vegan/gluten-free naan, and we are obsessed with the piazi. 100% recommend, tip well, support local restaurants!

Best Indian food in Washington Heights. Anytime I am in Northern Manhattan, I try to enjoy Indian food at Kismat. I like the Samosa and Tandoori. They make great Biryanis as well.

My wife and I had our wedding reception this last weekend at Kismat. Our guests and ourselves were completely satisfied with Kismat's food, service, and atmosphere. Our reception was scheduled from 3 to 5 on Saturday. Kismat was graceful enough to allow for the 30-minutes early arrival of our guests. The eight reserved tables were beautifully dressed and ready to receive our guests. Kismat separated our section from the rest of the restaurant which made for intimacy and privacy. They also set aside a long table to place the cake and gifts. A large contingent, including the chef and owner, at least three servers, and two bus persons worked diligently to make sure we had all we needed. Our party included thirty guests who were offered a five-course meal with meat, vegetarian, and vegan menu options. We are glad to have chosen Kismat for our wedding reception.

Kismat is phenomenal! Great food and great service. update in 2025: still a phenomenal and flavorful experience. we went with a party of 10 and were able to get enough food to satisfy everyone. we followed a lot of recommendations and really enjoyed our choices.

10 of us celebrated two of our friends birthday on a Friday night where we enjoyed the Jazz music while having dinner and drinks. OMG!!! Each and every dish we had was different from any we’ve ever eaten at other Indian restaurants. They were all simply delicious. The waiters were very polite and friendly. We will definitely be visiting Kismat again.❤️❤️

One of my first times eating Indian food but certainly not my last! The chicken Tikka masala was amazing as well as the shrimp. The garlic Naan bread with a variety of sauces from Tamarindo to cilantro were out of this world. 5 out of 5 for Indian food would definitely recommend to anyone!

This place has been one of my favorites since I was a kid. Love their tandoori chicken, mulligatawny soup, garlic naan, and curries. I often head back up to the area just to have a bite of my favorites.

I love Indian food and this is my favorite place in the whole city. It's crazy to me how divided the reviews are. We've been going here for years and would eat at Kismat everyday if we lived closer.

Celebrated a milestone birthday for my sister this weekend where they sectioned off private area for 25 of us. Everything was exceptional! The food, atmosphere, and most of all, the warm and welcoming hospitality…out of this world! Sammy and his staff truly made us feel like family! I can’t wait to return! LOVE this hidden Gem. Great Food..Great Service....Love the area. I have been for Dinner and Lunch….the Lunch specials are very filling. The waiters are very helpful making suggestions. I don’t drink much but they have Mocktails. They also have some great LIVE JAZZ a couple of nights during the week. A great spot before or after visiting the Cloisters!

I’m a regular at Clove, the wonderful restaurant run by this amazing family in Harlem—it’s always a great experience. I often go there with my colleagues and have never been disappointed. But this review is for Kismat, their equally fantastic spot in Washington Heights. What a lovely place! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, especially on nights when local bands are playing—it really adds to the charm. One of the things I appreciate most is how accommodating they are to my dietary needs—I’m vegan and gluten-free, and they always go out of their way to make sure I have delicious options. And of course, the service is top-notch. My dear Narinie and Sammy are truly the best—hardworking, kind, and always making you feel at home. The Chicken Tikka Masala is a standout—perfectly cooked every time, rich in flavor, and customizable to satisfy even the most dedicated spice lovers. The cheese poori pairs beautifully with the crispy vegetable samosas, and the tandoori chicken is always served hot and freshly made, with clear attention to detail and quality. I’ve been coming here for years, and the experience has remained reliably excellent. While the prices are slightly higher than what you’d typically expect from an Indian restaurant, the quality of the food and the fact that it’s the only option of its kind in the area make the cost reasonable. There were past concerns around kitchen cleanliness, but the team has clearly made improvements. They currently hold a solid B from the health department, and based on recent visits, I’m confident that will soon improve to an A.

Kismat had been a favorite in the Washington Heights neighborhood for as long as I can remember, back when they were half the size they are today. I just had a wonderful dinner experience there with my mom and my dog. It is a wonderful family owned business that offers delicious food and a great happy hour. Although they always had a popular outdoor seating option, during covid they expanded the outdoor seating area and it is comfortable, family and dog friendly. My favorite entree is the salmon and spinach special, it is delicious and generous with their servings of salmon and creamy spinach. Of course an Indian meal isn't complete without an assortment of breads such as my favorite garlic naan. I also highly recommend the mango lassi, but I like to order it to-go and have it separately because otherwise it can fill you up quickly. Overall, such a fantastic restaurant that is perfect whether on a date, with family and friends, or enjoying a drink quietly alone.

The atmosphere is nice the service is ok. They were attentive and didn't keep us waiting, but i wouldn't say it was friendly. The food is northern Indian style. Don't come here looking for heat, there's more of a sweetness to it. The spiced tea was perfect and the food was very good.

The food is delicious although their size portions have diminished throughout the years. The price is also affordable for most household budgets. The staff and service can use some polishing, but it's a nice place to go and add a little variety any day of the week.

I've been ordering from here regularly for well over 10 years, and quite often order the Chicken Makhani. Tonight's version was NOT the same as it has been for over a decade, and I was quite disappointed. It is tangy & fruity & the "medium" spice level is higher than usual (possibly just seems spicier because there was very little "creaminess" to the sauce?) I wish I could describe it better. I am yet giving 4 stars, because I absolutely love this place! Perhaps there's a new chef tonight? Or it's a fluke? I dearly hope they have not officially changed the recipe, as this version was NOT good. I will definitely call & discuss it before choosing what to order next time.

This is the kind of place that has developed a following of regulars, and you can feel it in the place. Very, everybody knows your name. If that's what you are looking for and you like Indian food, this is the place for you. The crowd seems to typically be 30+. They have a long happy hour 1p to 8p week days. They also have a $20 brunch 11:30a to 3p on Sundays. Live jazz on Friday evenings.

I've been here before and after the renovation for my Grandma's birthday (she loves Indian food). I enjoyed my visit both times. The food is always very good and I like the buffet style setup they now have. I wish there were more spicy options though...I like my food hot! Still the service is always great and the food always delicious. Plus, they are always so welcoming and good to us even though we can be a large, loud group.

If you like northern Indian food then you should visit this place. The best Indian food I've had in a long time. The service was ok ok. Food quality was amazing here. But food was not spicey. I had visited this place with my friends. Everyone liked the food. They serve you rice and pulse as complementary and that was very tasty. But food was so costly I think may be because of New York as cost of living in New York is high. They have an ample number of vegetarian food. I would recommend this place without a doubt to anyone.

A local favorite that has been around for a long time. Food is very good but there is better Indian food available if you are willing to travel. Very friendly staff. Reliable take-out service. Can't wait for the dining room and (small) bar to be reopened once the Covid crisis is over. Extra credit for supporting local jazz musicians.

The food is pretty good, the service is lacking in barely decent manners. It's a very comfortable and my usual place to meet with friends. I like that the business was able to expand. The place looks great. Not that comfortable interacting with the waiters though. Edit: my leftovers were not handled properly. Bringing this place down to a three for mediocre service. The location named Clove is far better in every way.

Food was... not great. Got the chicken masala lunch special for delivery. It came with a samosa and some naan as well. The chicken masala was just so lacking in flavor, and the naan was pretty soggy and unappealing. I understand that delivery will make naan soggier and that it is unavoidable, but it just lacked so much flavor and was way too doughy. Tasted like the chef may have either given up, or as if he was way too busy to put effort into the food. However, delivery was ordered around noon on a weekday, so I'm not sure how they could have been THAT busy. My daughter and husband also agreed with these sentiments. The only saving grace was their samosa. It was delicious and well-spiced. Cannot speak on the service and atmosphere since it was delivery.

Meh... I preferred their sister restaurant, Clove, which is smaller, warmer, and feels more intimate. Kismat felt like an Indian sports bar. We went there for lunch on a Friday and were initially the only patrons in their giant dining area, a few folks sitting outside, and some excessively loud customers sitting at the bar (who we couldn't see because of the wall partition, but who we could hear very clearly). The service we received was so so, but the food was still tasty. And the front door conveniently situated right on the street corner where customers are most likely to walk up---that is not really an entrance, but rather is kept locked while directing bar customers to the left and dining customers to the right---throws people off and feels oddly segregating.

Average, bland, overpriced Northern Indian food. Nothing interesting and not very fresh, but typical for New York. I took my Dad here a few times. They are the only Indian place that I know of in this area, so they have a monopoly. Why I stopped going, was A) I didn't feel like I was getting good value for the price, and B) They didn't treat me all that well when I had a table by myself. If I go down to 2nd Avenue, the Indian restaurants treat you like they are happy you're there. I guess this place is just doing well enough that they don't have to care. Well I guess the feeling is mutual at this point, I don't really see myself going there again.

Hit and miss Friendly neighbourhood restaurant, nice atmosphere. The food quality is varied. We enjoyed our eggplant curry, and were told it’s “because it’s fresh”. Lots of other food including the rice and some vegetables were clearly microwaved, and the frozen items they used (like the peas) were not properly cooked. Come if in the neighbourhood, ask for what’s fresh. I wouldn’t travel here.

Our food choice is Chicken Tikka Marsala, Chicken Seafood Marsala and the Seafood Biryani. It has changed a lot, maybe even more. Marsala taste to salty. Can't taste the tomato sauce and the Biryani use to have spinach in it. Not anymore. Its probably the Chefs have change a few times and have their methods or they are cutting down on ingredients. I think it's the Chefs. I gone here many times to give it a chance. Our food choices do not taste as great as it use to be.

A restaurant with potential but offers very few choices in high priced "all you can eat" buffet. Buffet included small reheated samosas, burnt out naans, two veg sides, two chicken sides, one egg masala and basmati. I am a vegetarian and all I could eat were one appetizer and two sides with some basmati rice. #fail

This is Bangladeshi cuisine not a Indian cuisine. See the picture of Aloo parantha ( according to them) . I like the taste of the food as it was good compare to other Bangladeshi restaurants but nothing like a Indian restaurant. I liked everything except when I confronted the guy that this is not Aloo parantha from india , He insisted that this is way it’s been made instead of saying this is the way it’s made in Bangladesh. If you making food Bangladeshi way then why can’t you put Kismet A Bangladeshi cuisine instead of naming indian cuisine.

The quantity of food was decent for two people to share. Samosa was a bit oily. In Malai kofta, I am not sure what were the Kofta made of but they tasted uncooked. Naan bread was hard. Roti was delicious and freshly-made. We went for dinner and they had live music on a Tuesday evening. The music was loud for that space. I preferred a peaceful dinner after a work day. Overall, a fairly decent experience!!!

I went there two years ago and liked it very much. But when I went this time, I found that, the quality of food is not as great as it was. They served me a Lamb Biryani with half boiled rice! Other dishes ordered by my family members were not liked. Vindaloo was not as hot as it supposed to be. They included service charge which was not mentioned in the menu. I am not going to suggest anybody to go there to spoil their time, money and appetite.

I have eaten at more than 20 different Indian restaurants on the East Coast and this was by far one of the most disappointing. The food was average at best... it was just bland, plain and simple... bland... I ended up having to use the chutney given for the appetizers just to get my taste buds going. As per the service... Meh... the gentleman at the front of the house was nice and pleasant but it was clear that he had not been trained properly. It is standard practice to bring out serving spoons for the multiple dishes I ordered but I was left asking for more spoons and when I asked... I was handed one (I ordered THREE entrees). I understand this restaurant is going through some physical renovations and I am very appreciative of that but it should not impact the quality of the food/service. I wish them the best of luck in the future.

We had a take away from this place. The food was not delicious at all. We will not recommend to go back to this place. The service the quick but the food taste was no where close to even average. Naan were below our least expectations. Curries were also the same. Malai kofta didn’t have a usual kofta but something very strange tasting ball of some potatoes and veggies . Palak paneer we ordered, we had to hunt for piece of paneer in that.

2 stars due to lack of consistency. Came here a few wks ago and ordered chicken makhani and aloo gobi and it was excellent. Ordered the same thing today for lunch and it was too hot (I always order medium), chicken makhani had no sweetness and was swimming in oil. Unlikely, I will be a regular patron here.

By far one of the most inconsistent restaurants I've ever regrettably been a patron of. I had to stop trying in hopes that it'd get better just because I was craving Indian. There really isn't many options in this neighborhood for it. Sometimes you'll get a fairly flavorful, properly spiced dish, and others you'll get the most offensively bland and flavorless monstrosity. Even if you request more spices, there's a chance they won't bother. Their naan is actually inedible at times. How do you mess up naan?! Underdone. Like Wonderbread dunked in a glass of water. Entirely tasteless. The last time we ate from here, my wife contracted Norovirus. We haven't been back since. If you personally want to chance it, I recommend eating in because they're ever-so-slightly more reliable (likely because they have to look you in the face while you eat instead of using a delivery guy as a buffer), but for the record there is ZERO effort put in on delivery/to-go orders. Not even worth the gamble. If you walk by, you'll see from outside that it gets busy at times. Just know that this is only because of live jazz music and their happy hour specials, not their food. Be aware that the local geriatrics who've likely never experienced real and flavorful Indian food are just looking for cheap drinks, free entertainment, and unsalted food, so please take that into consideration before you choose to dine here.

Horrible experience. The waiter was utterly rude and I am absolutely sure that they would not have dared treat anyone horribly had it been any non Indian that they were serving. The waiter took my order and brought the wrong bread. His explanation was that they did not serve the type that I had ordered so he decided to give me the regular one. How come the customer here does not get to decide what food he wants to eat? When it comes to billing, they just gave me this hand scribbled page that does not even have the restaurant name on it! So I don't even have the right to get a properly printed bill? On pointing this out, the manager told me that they have been in business for 30 years and they treat all customers the same way. Deplorable. I came here to have Indian food got the taste of India of India in return, figuratively. And food is not great either. The taste has no resemblance to what a similar dish in India would taste like. Nothing authentic about this restaurant.

I would give it zero if I could. The food, although they said they don’t add sugar in the curry, was sweet. The spice and sweet taste don’t go well for curries. I would not recommend it for someone who has had and love authentic Indian food.

I’m so sorry but I ordered the chicken biryani and it was so tasteless…the chicken was rubbery with barely any flavor. The red sauce they gave me saved it a little but there was quite literally no seasoning and they added peas (some of them were hard) 😭 The garlic naan was okay, tasted a little too sweet for me

The green sauce was overly powered by the cilantro but the one thing I can say the onion sauce was very good. I was highly disappointed

They say it's an Indian Restaurant but it's a Bangladeshi Restaurant. The food is very very cheap quality. They put sugar in every meal to make the American customers happy and show that it's not "spicy." It's not the Indian way of cooking. Also, if you order for delivery, the delivery man leave the food at your door without even knock your door. It's not Indian food. It's a kind of "making money food." Sorry,

Never imagined the food could be this bad. Went for dinner , ordered paneer chilly and tandoori mixed grill. Paneer chilly was served in a chutney bowl. Never ever imagined appetizer portions could be so small. It was so spicy that you could barely eat it. Mix grill had 6 pieces of chicken. Again a very small portion for $23 appetizer. Ordered Dal makhni (black lentils) which came Out to be super sweet. Chicken curry was ok. Changed dal to Gobi mutter (cauliflower and peas), peas were all frozen and cold. It was bland. Had tandoori naan, again on the sweeter side along with garlic naan. Overall, would avoid this restaurant for Indian food.

I have enjoyed going this restaurant for over a year now. I was there yesterday (3/14/21) during happy hour and ordered several cocktails, including a whiskey coke. Before ordering that I asked the waiter if it was happy hour, to which he said yes. I ordered the drink and was later charged the listed price of $5. Today (3/15/21) I went back during happy hour and had two whiskey and cokes and an order of samosas which cost 4.25. When I went to pay I had been charged $31 dollars. When I brought to his attention he simply claimed whiskey was not a house liquor. As a restaurant employee I know that whiskey is always a house liquor. I asked to speak with a manager and there was, according to the waiter, no in charge there. This a great place to eat if you want to spend whatever the staff there feels like charging you at that moment in time

The most mediocre Indian food. Samosa was greasy, seemed like it had been fried twice. Chicken Saag - not much chicken and very little flavor. Lamb Kori Kebab was decent but the Garlic Naan we ordered had no garlic and it was stale on the corners. Definitely seemed like it had been baked a while ago and reheated. The rice was well cooked but I feel like if I'm complementing the rice then things must be bad. So disappointing and for $60? Never again!

Rude bar staff. Food is subpar as well. I’m a local, been going here for years, but ducked in during a rainstorm with my 9 year old and immediately told that kids weren’t allowed at a bar table. Not the bar obviously. Won’t be back. Embarrassed that is what a local staple has devolved to. Not for nothing, there were three people in the restaurant. I get it, if that’s the rule but the bar tender was rude. Could have been managed better. Jeremy should get rid of this guy — Pablo. Also, as long as kids don’t consume alcohol they can sit at a table in a restaurant in NYC per the current laws and regulations as I understand them. Obviously, the establishment owners can set their own rules, which they are free to do and can only assume they’ve done in this case.

Placed an order, food was on a decent time. But let me tell you I will never buy Indian food from this place. I order the chicken Mas. Just disgusting, it was like a soup with Yellow coloring, No taste at all. On top of food being horrible, it was 25 dollars so over prize with no utensils or napkins.

Ordered to go because I'd heard good things about this place. It was disappointing. The bread (cheese poori and naan ) tasted like they'd been made a week ago. The Eggplant Bahartha was unseasoned and might as well have been oatmeal. The basmati rice and the lemon and mango pickles were great, but both of those I can do well myself. Lamb was full of chunks of tomato, may well as been called tomato curry (I know lamb's expensive, but seriously...) Almost $70 for stale bread and a mostly vegetarian meal is unacceptable. Oh, and the raita. You do know what raita is? Because I got melted ice cream with grated cucumber. Never again. A waste of money. It would be better for me to fly to the UK where there is a higher class Indian restaurant in every small town than eat here again.

Was excited to come back to Kismat after a few years, but sad to see how it's changed. Food tasted like it was at least a few days old and was over $50 for two entrees. They have a C health rating. Ended up being unable to eat more than a few bites. Won't be returning, sadly.

Day of visit - July 8, '23 - Around noon. Never had SWEET SUGARY Samosas in my life and SUGARY SWEET Chicken Biryani as a native Indian man. This is what I received when I ordered a plate of samosas and a chicken tikka biryani at Kismat. Recently, I moved to Washington Heights and have been contemplating ordering food from this place. I decided to eat out at this restaurant with a visiting Indian friend from Boston. We both were disgusted by the food taste. More details below — 1/ Veg. Samosa was sweet AF and we had to ask for the chutneys to the server a minute after they were brought to the table. So he got back with chutneys from a common chutney utensil ONLY AFTER we asked for it. 2/ Chicken Biryani was disastrously sweet with coconut shavings on top of it!!(wait, what!!?? 😳). From the look and taste of it, we felt that it was basically a vegetable peas pulao with some chicken curry mixed into it (plus sugar). At the time of payment, we notified the guy that the food is extremely sweet and why, to which he responded stating that we didn't ask for it to be spicy when placing the order, otherwise the base taste is supposed to be sweet. We were like - what? Are we supposed to ask for it to be NOT SWEET (let alone ask for spicy)? I mean neither of us even look white for our appearance for them to assume we would eat SWEET INDIAN BIRYANI and would have to notify them to not make it sweet if we want it spicy.

The most unauthentic Indian food I ever had. Probably McDonald's will do better. Biryani tasted like over fried rice. Their naan was undercooked and tasted like savory doughnuts. My partner found a hair inside her samosa and when we notified the owner, they shrugged saying it must have come from the window. Very hesitantly replaced the meal and the new meal was even worse and partially uncooked. Overall l... Bad food, bad service. I am 50$ out with the bad taste of under and overcooked food in my mouth.

Awful customer service. I went in just for a drink on karaoke night and it was a disappointing night. So glad I wasn’t there for food. I’m definitely never going back to this place.

This is hands-down the worst Indian food I've ever eaten in my life. I've had better Indian food in an airport. The daal tasted like baked beans from a can, like barbecue sauce. The naan was soggy and bland. The paneer tasted old. The cocktails tasted like a mix of bottom shelf well and red #40. I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to cheap food, but for two entrees and two cocktails we paid nearly $90 - not including tax or tip! The server's attitude seemed to suggest that he was both aware of and unapologetic about the poor quality food and drink. I'd have had a better experience eating microwaved tasty bite curry from food town and drinking Georgi vodka with Kool aid at home for a quarter of the cost. Wow.

Messed up my order. Did not receive brown rice or chicken samosa (empandad). Gave me white and a beef samosa. Naan was bland too. Bombay kholcha was also not really good and bland. Thanks,

Food got here much earlier than expected and was still warm. Unfortunately that's pretty much the only good thing I can say about it. If I had been in a small town in the Midwest it could have been adequate but for NYC the quality was abysmal. Tasted like it had been cooked by decent chefs who had only heard about how Indian food should taste. Cost for one greasy naan was practically highway robbery.

Absolutely disgusting, I love indian food but this is not it. The kurma had no spice or flavor it tasted like someone just dumped some yogurt in a bowl and called it a day. This place needs help!

I've been eating here for the past couple years and their food is pretty good but recently they raise the prices and lowered the amount of food that they give. The dish here is salmon Tandoori. I don't understand how you can give two pieces of fish in charge 19.99. I understand things are tough so raise prices but why make the amount less? I'm not eating here ever again.

Worst food I have tried in NY City. Its not indian. The chicken tikka masala tastes like anything but it, the dhal has more beans than lentils.

WORST Indian food in New York. They don't know how to cook chat, Rogan josh or Aloo paratha. The sauce seemed very stale. The chef needs to learn first. Whatever he cooked, is not Indian food. All the dishes were sweet, not spicy. The plates and utensils looked very dirty. I told them to wash again but they still looked like those were made in the 1980s. The server was very unprofessional and acted like he is working in a Dhaba, no manners. The bill was hand written like a local desi hotel. I've never seen these bills in NY. It looked like they made up a number to adjust the tax and bills. Very weird experience. Please stay away with a 10 feet limbo pole from this place.

Want to eat Indian food? Don’t go to Kismat! Unless you want stale condiments, salads, roti loaded with flour on top of pathetic service. We ordered matar paneer but could only swim in a sea of matar, lol. Not worth the price.
