Probably the best deli I’ve been to. Staff was super friendly and accommodating- asked me how my day was, gave me exactly what I asked for, and a free drink. Food was great value- 13 bucks including tax for the chicken/rice bowl. Flavor was excellent. Definitely coming back here.
I’ve always walked past this place but wish I had tried their sandwiches out sooner!!!! I ordered the chipotle chicken + avocado sandwich and it was AMAZING!! It’s a pretty hefty sized sandwich - I ate in one go but you could probably split this into two for a light lunch. Fillings were fresh and piled up high. The bread was also pillowy soft and crusty on the outside. Sandwiches are made to order and the staff are so friendly! This place will definitely be on rotation going forward 🥰🥰 It’s takeout only but fine as it’s a grab and go place!
Got a fruit smoothie and the gentleman who made it couldn’t be kinder and more helpful. He suggested how people normally order the smoothie and I’m glad for the recommendation because it was delicious.
Our first 2 hours in NYC EVER...wanted a snack and hubs wanted a wrap. They recommended the chicken Caesar wrap and he's beyond impressed. For $10 you get a perfect Caesar Salad in every bite because the sammich guy chops the SH*T out of the innerds before he wraps it for you. The young man checking us out was so kind and reassured me everything was made fresh everyday and they're 24hrs. We will be back multiple times this week.
Oh my God. One of the best deli in Manhattan. I had fish sandwich from this deli. Delicious and perfectly made. Never had before like that. I would say, Must try once.
Open 24 hrs. They speak spanish. A lot of options of cold and hot food, also beverages, fruit, snacks.
The best thing they open 24hrs, I went there around 4 a.m and It was opened. I got some stuff, the guy the employees were so kind and so nice. Fast at the same time 👍🏻.
Working in NYC for a week, I was still operating on UK time. I was looking for somewhere open at this time. Based on not having many 24 hour places, I was a little bit worried, however, I walked in and the 2 guys working there were super pleasant and helpful and we spoke and football (soccer!) I got the sausage, egg, cheese roll and it was delicious! A great balance of flavours. I think that is an independent place, and if it is, those employees deserve the love, they are great workers and I may just go there each morning for breakfast!
I just reviewed in Grubhub but wanted to give some praise here. Great delivery deli that actually listens to custom instructions. Not to mention great food!
A great deli located in an area of high priced eateries. Friendly staff centered around grill master Moe, who serves up the best egg-ham-cheese-croissant sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. His burgers aren’t bad either. Love the quantity and quality for the money.
What an excellent customer service and excellent breakfast 👌 😀 ... I am a breakfast type of girl and I been going to this deli every morning for over 3 months now! They listen to what exactly you want and even though i'm extra particular about how I want my bagel toasted , scooped out and 1 slice of cheese and lite on the butter ... I have never felt like a bother... Mo is def the top Chef and Jenny it's always on point with the coffee and service! Thankful for an affordable deli around this pricey area 🙌 🙏
I have only been in the neighborhood for 3 weeks but even on my first visit the staff was friendly, accommodating and helpful and because of them I COME BACK. I now get my bi weekly burgers from them. They are juicy and prepared the way I request them. I by mistake went to SHAKE SHACK...omg...burnt burger, not the condiments I requested and churlish reception upon receiving. It's just nice coming to a place where you are treated with respect and concern. While waiting I noticed they treat everyone kindly....one would think u were in the south....pure southern hospitality. THANKS.
This place is awesome. Fantastic fresh breakfast sandwiches. The staff are really nice, and fun to interact with. They are very proud of their product. Prices are great too. They have great healthy products for sale and tasty stuff to for snacks too. Bacon and Egg on a Bagel was awesome.
Stayed nearby for 4 nights and ended up eating here 3 times. Great Pastrami grilled right to order right in front of you - try a Reuben or a Venice burger for under $10. Google says they close at 10, but the shopfront says 24 hours except Sunday morning.
I love this place. Get lunch here almost every day. Delicious deli sandwiches, hot or cold, incredibly quick service, efficient and friendly staff. Prices are very fair given the area, quality, and quantity of food you're getting. 6/5 stars
We did the family style prepaid meal and it was the greatest value out of a meal I’ve ever gotten in NYC or perhaps anywhere ever! Every dish we had was so well executed and tasted delicious. Especially at this price point, this has to be one of the best meals you can get in the city. Staff were so welcoming, kind, and thoughtful throughout the entire meal. Very unique experience as well as we haven’t seen korean-cajun food anywhere else. 10/10 recommend and it’s byob! Doesn’t get better than this for a meal out with family or friends!
Came here on a Wednesday night and highly recommend a reservation because it was booked! People know this place is the place to go for amazing fried chicken and warm comfort food. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy and the go honey was such a good sauce pairing. The kimchi okra is tangy and not spicy. The gumbo was such a star dish. Comfort food and warming on such a cold day. Definitely hit the spot. We met David who was incredibly kind, attentive, and honestly a huge reason why we would go back. Highly recommend and definitely will be back soon!
We had a lovely time and the food divine! Its a cozy little spot and can get pretty packed with how narrow the restaurant is, but I heard they're expanding down the street in a month! We got the fried chicken (soooo incredibly moist) and seafood jjajangmyeon (I think it had squid ink in it and the noodles they used were super bouncy almost like glass noodles- so good!) with sides of tomato kimchi (think tangy refreshing mul kimchi with unripe tomatoes) and korean pear salad (a great palate cleanser to cut through anything savory and greasy). And shout out to David for being so welcoming and friendly at our first visit! 맛있게 먹었습니다-- 감사합니다~!
I finally got to experience the K-fusion dining of the famous chef Jae. Soy marinated egg and japchae boudin ball were truly unique and wonderful. Galbi brisket grits have a fantastic combination of well-seasoned ribs and cherry tomato kimchi. Okra kimchi has a unique texture and savory side menu. I highly recommend you experience a clean open kitchen and friendly service. I'm looking forward to it as it expands to a wider area near soon.
I've been wanting to try this place for a bit. Highly recommend making reservations, I never made reservations but I'd try my luck whenever I was in the area and l'a see a line and the waitlist would be 45 minutes. Finally made reservations and went, I did same day reservations on resy but it was dying opening time so there were a few reservations open. It's a BYOB spot and they charge a $15 corkage, it's listed on the beverage section of the menu. Free corkage included with set menus! We did the set menu combo for two people. I wanted to try a little bit of everything and was eyeing the tasting menu but the server was quite transparent and said that it might be too much food for us. They were very kind and recommended the combo set for two but said they would do smaller portions for the snacks/ sides so we could try a few more things from the menu. They also recommended adding a piece of the fried chicken which ended up being my favorite- it was just decadent and perfectly marinated and cooked. Juicy and tender on the inside, and hot and crispy on the outside. I loved everything but the stand outs were the gal I brisket and grits, pickled vegetables green tomato and okra kimchi), soy marinated egg with cracklin( on the house), and of course, their fried chicken. One thing to note is that seating is very limited. It is not a place you order food and sit and chat for 3 hours. There are six two-seater tables and a bar that seats 4 inside. They have a few tables outside as well. Not sure they could seat a big group together due to how limited the space is but I think groups of 4 or 6 are manageable by putting the tables together. The staff is very efficient, regularly checking in and cleaning up to keep the table from being too cluttered.
By far the best dining experience we have had during our 5 day trip to NYC. The food was the phenomenal! Very intimate and cozy setting. Service was very efficient and all of the staff were very friendly. Food was priced fairly for the quality they deliver. Highly recommend trying this place out!
I’ve been here multiple times and it just does not disappoint! The food is a delicious blend of Korean and Cajun flavors in a cozy space, and everything really explodes with flavor. The jambalaya is seasoned well with a nice kick, while the Louisiana crawfish bibimbap mixes buttery crawfish with crisp rice and heat in a way that feels pretty magical. The team is also incredibly friendly, which elevates the whole experience
KJUN is, all things considered, the best restaurant in new york city. chef jae's food is distinctive beyond belief. the innate compatibility she brings out between cajun and korean ingredients and flavors feels so unexpected, yet also somehow inevitable, as though they have been paired for generations (even though this is maybe the only place in the world where they are). between the homemade kimchi that brightens up jambalaya, a rice noodle jajeonmyeon with new orleans fixin's that adds squid ink to black bean for even more mouth-staining sauciness, and boudin balls that use japchae noodles (a brilliant textural innovation that i still shake my head at after a year and a half), jae's food at KJUN is both delicious and enlightening. it is at once straightforward and remarkable, and it showcases the chef's humble mastery of (and her life straddling) two culinary traditions. i think KJUN has the best gumbo, and possibly the best fried chicken, anywhere in the city. chef jae also regularly drops seasonal specials which are usually so high-effort or so full of special ingredients that they are the best items on the menu while they last. and her team nails the basics too: the bbq ribs fall right off the bone and melt in the mouth. that's something that can't be said even for most places that mainly serve ribs. i've been to michelin-starred establishments in new york that cost twice as much, aren't half as good, and have less than a tenth of the character and uniqueness of KJUN's food. i would highly recommend it.
Wow this place left us speechless. First off they were able to squeeze us in last minute even though it was super busy. Second, the food was just phenomenal. We ordered the galbi gritz (our fav), japchae boudini, kimchi jumbalaya. The flavors were incredible and cooked so well. The staff is so sweet and the owner gave us complementary fried chicken, which was amazing by the way. You can really tell that everyone who works there is passionate about the restaurant and the food is made with love. Highly recommend this restaurant and super cute vibes inside as well. 10/10
I had never heard of fusing Korean food with southern soul food. However, I was beyond impressed by KJUN's flavors and presentation and I know I'll be back to try more of their menu. Their dishes were so creative-- I laughed at the unexpected flavor and texture combinations! And there was so much food!? My friend and I got the honey butter chips and Dinner For Two--catfish nuggets, collard greens, green tomato kimchi, BBQ pork ribs, seafood jjajangmyun, and goguma pecan pie. And let me tell you, they went above and beyond with customer service. ABOVE AND BEYOND! It was my first time there and they were amazing with checking in on us, packing the *tons* of leftovers, and even assisting me with returning my purse! Somehow, I forgot my purse in my excitement to take home all the leftovers lol. Run, don't walk to try KJUN!!!
It’s pretty “cozy” spot - only seats about 20 in a comfortable and fairly sedate environment We did the family style meal, which was really ideal. They ask you at the beginning if you want any preferences and of course, I piped up about the. “ fried chicken.”! They started out with a small squash amuse bouche, then we had some fritters, followed by a meatball “boudin ball”. We also had cooked okra and a really unique potato salad. They followed with a delicious gumbo with homemade sausage. Then we had the fried chicken! Wow. Came with hot honey and one other sauce. The squid in pasta and mushroom with radish on top was last before dessert. The person waiting tables knew the food backwards and forwards and was a real treat to work with. (Eli!) They finished the meal with a very small dessert which was kind of a strawberry and cake and whipped cream specialty. We really love the meal. I found the flavors on every course just exploding in our mouth. Really enjoyed this experience and it’s a must do!
Can’t rave enough about this place. We came at prime time and the host tried their best to get us seated and we went for the family set because we were 4 people. The chef was careful to accommodate particular eaters. So everyone was absolutely pleased with what came out. The Kimchee tomato and soy marinated egg amazing to start with. The main dishes were the perfect portion to fill us up. It was our first time here and we are neighborhood folks and the service made us feel like we are part of them so that warmth hospitality is definitely bringing us back in the future. FYI it’s BYOB with a small corkage fee (u less you go for the set) so stop by a local spot grab a bottle and have it with your delicious meal. It such a unique menu for a neighborhood that is getting diverse.
We were warmly welcomed by everyone — such a nice and friendly atmosphere! We were lucky to get a table since we didn’t have a reservation, so I highly recommend making one in advance. It was our first visit, and they kindly explained the fusion-style dishes to us. We shared one appetizer and two mains, and everything was absolutely delicious!! Next time, I’m excited to try something new!
My wife and I always have a fun dining experience whenever we eat at KJUN. They do an amazing job combining different cultures to make an incredible menu. The dishes have evolved over the years and it never disappoints! We had the honey butter chips, hush puppies, tomato kimchi, k-pear salad, fried chicken, galbi brisket & grits, and goguma pecan pie. Each dish was tasty in its own way, but don't sleep on the honey butter chips!!! Such a delicious way to start the meal. Also the staff here are always so friendly & welcoming. They really provide such warm hospitality and make the dining experience so enjoyable. Great food & great staff is a recipe for a memorable meal!

No coffee shop! There is no seating anywhere in this establishment or ambience.... although the server is very hospitable and eager to assist you at any moment.
we did prix fix and my friends really liked this meal, but I highly doubt that I personally would want to come here again. the ambience and service is really good. the dishes are interesting and tasty but it’s been a couple weeks and the only thing I remember are the potato chips. interesting concept to try once bc you might really like it (my friends did just not me 🥲)
Decent food. The NOLA-style bbq shrimp was delicious, but the pork ribs and fried chicken didn't blow me away. Vibe is alright. Overall, not sure it's worth the price tag, at least not for us.

I just needed a plastic fork since I’ve been starving for hours and my blood sugar was already low enough, I rushed and went inside to this store and asked for one single plastic fork, they literally asked for 5 cents🤦🏻♀️ and since I didn’t have any cents, they didn’t give me any fork. That is the most stupid thing that’s ever happened to me in the city! thank god “just salad”, which was just a few blocks away, gave me whatever I needed! You should be aware of that how small acts will effect your business. I will never think this place is a nice and kind environment whenever I pass through it anymore, while I always remember and keep purchasing things from the stores that have nicer employees and managers. yes, all because of a single fork, tells enough.
Skimpy sandwiches rude service over priced not welcoming to customers this place needs Boot Camp 101 for customer service you walk in they’re not warm. There’s no reception then they will destroy your food or flat out make it wrong then It’s made very poorly and very skimpy Deli guy has no clue what he’s doing properly does not work the grill or knows food properly they guarantee will mess up your order and overcharge you for a bacon egg and cheese price 5.99 to $15 within the price range and every day you can guarantee you will get a different price when there’s a special for 5.99 and a free coffee. They guarantee will mess up your order or roll your sandwich smashed or do something dumb intentionally if you do so much as to even think to add ketchup and mayo to your sandwich they would overcharge you. disgusting
Took about 5-6 min for someone to even acknowledge me waiting to order. When she finally did, I ordered a fresh celery juice. After waiting another 10 min with only one person ahead of me she rang me up and told me it would be $16 when on the menu it says $10. When I asked her, she said because celery is not on the menu?! She should have told me that before making it!! I would never have continued with the order and paid $16 for a cup of fresh celery juice when it’s almost double just cause it’s NOT on the menu?! Honestly that’s ridiculous. Maybe tell your employees to communicate to your customers the price if it’s different than what’s posted on your menu.
While we had been to the restaurant many times over the years. The new ownership is quite rude, food is subpar, and yesterday will be our last time. If you have another choice of restaurants I would strongly suggest picking one of them over Cafe Venice.
