Motel No Tell is a popular spot, especially for celebrations like birthdays, thanks to the attentive staff (especially Clara and Miguel) and fun atmosphere. Happy hour deals and bottomless brunch are highlights. Pizza is well-regarded, but some found other food items mediocre.

Incredible coffee shop where the food is great and the company is even better! I brought my dog to the dog friendly area and it was just a $5 fee. Must have vaccines and it is such a cozy vibe to do work or hang out! Must come for all dog lovers!!!
Amazing coffee shop! Carol and team have the best customer service and coffee. They serve Devocion! They go the extra mile: I cut myself and needed a bandaid, and they found me one. Plus the dogs are super cute and brighten any day!
Heaven on earth! Devocion coffee, extensive food menu, and pups all around. It’s a $5 experience fee for “groups” - so solo, pair, party of 6 will all pay the same. Service is slightly slow, but the dogs make up for it. Coffee was a bit watery (needed less milk, more coffee), but the dogs make up for it. Wifi was good. Plenty of seating. Great place to work!! Will say, the food was pretty greesy / oily. Makes me nervous to fully explore the food menu… (we ordered chicken farro bowl)
Great service. Went to a Lady & the tramp event and was well taken care of with my pup. The setup was lovely. Along with the pup menu, dog menu and table setups. My pup loved the squash and meatballs. Tiramisu was great as well. Loved the photo op. Always liked coming here. They've always been good to my pup and very accommodating.
Genuinely heaven on earth. I love love love dogs even though I’m not able to have one (yet) so coming here and playing with random dogs is so fun and awesome. It’s such a nice idea
Recently under a new ownership and have a lot of new offerings. Got a small dog and it's fun to bring him over and hangout here to get some drinks and early cocktails. They also get the new yappy hours with 2 dollars off cocktail and brunch specials like croissant french toast.
Love this place! I don’t even have a dog, but love it here. The food is delish, iced coffee amazing, and the pups are the cutest to watch. Will be back here often.
They have great hospitality and my almondmilk cappuccino was great. It's a good working environment if you don't mind some music (on low volume). I also loved watching the dogs in the other room.
Best dog friendly spot in the city! As a dog "uncle" i love being able to pop in for a little doggie time, stay cool or warm up, and have some tasty treats. Service and staff is friendly, efficient, and easy. Dogs can be off leash in half the area, and there's lots of regulars. I really liked the iced teas, cocktail options, and the pesto mozzarella was delicious! Looking forward to my next visit!
This place is heaven on earth. Finally a place where my fur baby and I can go and enjoy a beer or coffee. Staff was overly accommodating and location was clean. Only wished they had a location in Park Slope !!
Devociõn coffee is incredible. Breakfast burrito is mouth-watering with a subtle kick. Service is super friendly and accommodating. And what's better than dining with well-behaved pups??? Boris & Horton is an uplifting way to start the day!
What an amazing place to eat and drink while playing with doggies. Great selection of coffee, food, beer and doggie treats. B&H also hosts events to adopt rescue dogs. This is such an amazing place for coffee and dog lovers.
This cafe is suuuuper cute! The owner is so nice! She has great energy and says hi to every guest! I like that there is a dog only area where dogs can roam freely and you can hang out with them just for $5 extra! But if you just want to be on your own, there’s a nice quiet spot for that as well. I love the music is subtle in the background, not too loud but enough for the vibe while you can still read or get in your zone.
What an absolutely incredible place to hang out if you love dogs. I brought my well behaved pup and my computer and spent the afternoon working from here. They were so welcoming and everyone hanging there was very nice. I started the morning with a coffee and then in the afternoon, I had the gluten-free toast with hummus and roasted tomatoes. Incredibly fresh and flavorful! Looking forward to bringing my dog back!
I’m so glad that Boris & Horton reopened. I stopped by with my dogs, and I gotta say… it was SO GOOD. The food and pastries are AMAZING. I got a cheese chocolate croissant, which I finished in seconds. I didn’t even know that I had chocolate on the sides of my mouth until my partner pointed them out. Also, their farro bowl is a must get. It came out very quickly after ordering. I got it for myself, but my partner asked if he could have some after seeing/smelling it. The dogs at the cafe were all well-mannered, and the owners were definitely very attentive to their dog, making sure that they’re not creating chaos. There is a small add on fee now, which is $5 service fee on the order. Honestly, I don’t mind as I find it reasonable. Don’t forget to tip! Go Boris & Horton 👏🎊
This café is pet-friendly with reliable WiFi, so you can get work done while petting the dogs with their silky fur. The coffee is delicious. The overall environment is clean, despite being pet-friendly, making it one of my favorite cafes in New York. The only thing to watch out for is that the dog clothes and toys they sell are just too cute, which might lead to accidentally overspending.
This place is the best — one of the few spots in the city where you can truly unwind indoors with your pup. Relieved that it stayed open under new management. I would miss it dearly if it closed for good.
Had the best birthday party at Motel No Tell!! 🎉 Clara was super responsive and incredibly helpful throughout the whole process, communication was seamless from start to finish. Our server, Miguel, was amazing and made sure everything ran smoothly all night. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience to celebrate! Highly recommend!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent experience thanks to the service The food and drinks were very good, but what truly made the difference was the servers Miguel Shout out for him .. From the moment we arrived, he was attentive, friendly, and very professional, always with a smile and paying close attention to every detail without being intrusive. He made excellent recommendations, ensured we had everything we needed, and truly made the experience special and enjoyable. You can really tell when someone loves their job and goes the extra mile to provide outstanding service. He definitely deserves recognition or an award, as people like him elevate the entire experience of the place. We will definitely be back!
Thank you so much! Our party of 27 people for our daughter’s 30th birthday was a huge success- my daughter and her friends had an amazing time. Clara and the waiter and other staff did everything perfectly. They paid close attention to us and kept us updated as we requested. The roped off space for the two hours was perfect with couches and tables as well as room to mingle. Also we were really surprised by the quality and quantity of food provided! We will highly recommend your place to our friends and family!!
I hosted a semi-private milestone birthday celebration on a Saturday night for a group of 35 at Motel No Tell, and it couldn’t have gone better. Their party tray menu was fantastic - generous portions, great flavors, and a perfect mix of big bites, including thoughtful vegetarian options to keep everyone happy. The food paired perfectly with their extensive drink menu. The service was excellent from start to finish, the music set the perfect tone, and the overall vibe made the night feel truly special. The team even helped us pull off a full surprise for the celebrant from the moment we walked in to setting up the balloons and presenting the custom cake we brought with sparklers and candles. Huge thank-you to Meera, Clara, Colin, and the entire team for making the night unforgettable. Highly recommend Motel No Tell for any celebration or night out in the East Village!
I celebrated my birthday at Motel No Tell last weekend, and everything was fantastic! From the start, Colin was incredibly helpful and responsive over email while I was organizing the party, and the team was wonderful on the day of the event. They took great care of us. The décor was amazing, the vibes were perfect, and everyone had an amazing time!
I went here for the $25 bottomless brunch and I had a great time. Definitely one of the best deals around for bottomless, and you can choose which drink you want, it’s not just mimosas. I really liked the aesthetic inside and the menu had some great options that were rather unique. I got the eggs Benedict (basic I know) but it was delicious. I highly recommend it with the salmon. Also, our waitress was practically serving the whole restaurant herself, she was very hard working and the service was still great.
We were positively surprised about this place. We had (bottomless) brunch to celebrate a birthday. The food was good and fresh - especially compared to many other bottomless brunches in town. The service was excellent - usually in these kind of brunch places you feel the hectic environment but not here. They also brought a bday surprise without asking and it was precious.
Motel No Tell was the PERFECT spot to host my 30th birthday this past weekend!! I reached out and locked in my date well in advance because I just had a good feeling that Motel No Tell would check off all the boxes for my milestone birthday. Not only did my party of 24 people have a fantastic time, but the staff truly went above and beyond every step of the way. From my initial contact with the events manager Colin, I knew we were in good hands. Our waitress Clara was truly the best!!! We chose an open bar package and Clara was ON TOP OF IT! No one waited more than a couple minutes for a drink. The bar was decently packed but I felt as if our party was the priority the entire time. One of the owners even came out to introduce himself and let us know he’s there if we needed anything. Just truly amazing service all around. My guests ranged from ages 22-40 and EVERYONE raved about how great of a time they had. The coolest vibes, great music and genuinely kind people. I would recommend Motel No Tell to anyone looking to host a fun event at a very reasonable cost! We had an absolute blast.
Ordered Piña Coladas for the Happy Hour and it did NOT disappoint. Got a great buzz off of two. I went on a Wednesday and honestly the vibe was immaculate and the bar had a healthy amount of folks coming in and out. Audrey and Dillion were amazing as hell bartenders and great company. Great experience overall and will def come back on the weekend.
BEST BAR IN EV! If you haven’t been to Motel No Tell, then you are truly missing out!!! I come here by myself and as well as with friends and have never felt alone. The staff are immaculate and make you feel at home. The food, cocktails, and atmosphere knock any East Village bar out of the water, and I’m continually impressed how Motel has captured the hearts of many. Whether you need a good laugh and some Guinness or to turn up with some Brat Punch, Motel has your back for every occasion. This bar truly gets to know its locals and welcomes new ones daily. Oh, and don’t forget to snag a hug from the 6’7” Irish owner…they are simply the best:)
Boris & Horton – A Dog-Friendly Café Experience in NYC I recently visited Boris & Horton in the East Village with my daughter and our Yorkiepoo, Missy. I love the idea of a café where you can bring your dog and enjoy a meal in a fun, pet-friendly atmosphere—it’s such a unique experience in the city. I had the chicken patty with black rice and lamb with vegetables, along with a refreshing apple juice. My daughter ordered a bowl with chicken, and she really liked it. We also treated Missy to a dog-friendly cupcake, which was a sweet touch. The space was clean and had a relaxed, community feel. You can tell it's a place made for dog lovers. Now, while I appreciated the freedom for dogs to roam, that part came with some challenges. A few larger dogs walked up to our table while we were eating and tried to get at our food. Unfortunately, not all owners were mindful of their pets, which made things a bit uncomfortable. Missy, who isn’t used to being around a lot of dogs, stayed quietly in her bag next to me the whole time. Overall, I’d definitely visit again—just maybe during a quieter time of day. If you have a social dog and want a chill place to grab a bite, Boris & Horton is a great option. I just wish more dog owners would keep an eye on their pups so everyone can enjoy their meals in peace.
We finally checked out the reopening of Boris & Horton. There’s two separate rooms and entrances, one for humans and one for dogs. I liked how they have a controlled door where you can enter one at a time for the safety of dogs. When we entered, tbh, it was a bit chaotic. It was filled with both people and dogs, but more people than dogs. It was super loud in there and not a lot of space for dogs to roam around. There were a couple of people without dogs dining and felt a bit uncomfortable because my pup likes to jump up on the table and smell/eat the food, so I felt a bit uneasy because I didn’t want my pup to disturb them. There was also a big group that was celebrating a birthday, which was not the dog’s birthday but the owner’s (I just don’t think it’s the right place to have one, tbh). However, I did really enjoy the cold brew and cheese danish, but dogs aren’t allowed in the other room where you have to pick up the order. I felt uncomfortable leaving my pup alone in the other room, so you’ll want to have someone else with you at the time to watch your dog. My pup loved eating the pup cake, which they had a variety of along with pupper cups. On the other hand, it was cool to see my pup’s picture being selected to be hung on the bathroom wall. We’ll definitely be back, but at a time when it’s not too busy.
Really fun experience! Only strange thing was how the dogs do their needs just about anywhere and the workers had to warn us about our bags on the floor. Workers are pretty attentive and try to tidy up. Overall nice for a cup of coffee and a fuzzy friend to pet.
Come for the drinks and vibes, get your pizza elsewhere. Came here for an impromptu dinner and a drink on a weekday. The service was very friendly and efficient, and the place itself was clean, air conditioned and the music wasn’t too loud. Our drinks were on the cheap side ($15 per drink) and tasted good. The design is unique and, well designed. Someone definitely put thought into it, but I can’t say it’s tasteful. It is playful and fun though. The food however was mediocre. Serving mediocre pizza in NYC is unacceptable, especially when you can get better pizza for half price across the street. I still gave this place 4 stars because it’s a new place and it might change and improve over time. But they really need to step up their pizza game.
It's hard to summarize on this. We were asked to move 2 different times because other parties were "really upset about their spots" so it felt like we were being punished for not complaining about our table. Drinks were okay, food was cold, I understand that this is a spot you go to for the unlimited brunch drinks but even on that scale this was disappointing. Food served was cold waiting for other plates and we were basically begging for service the whole time. We had one server who was doing her best but overall this was a completely miserable experience where we got sporadic service, cold food and bad drinks.
