My family and I decided to try Pappardella after seeing great reviews online, and it's safe to say it exceeded our expectations! They have an entire separate menu with gluten-free options. The flourless chocolate cake was the best GF dessert I've ever had! My family members, who aren't celiac, all raved about their meals too. Everyone cleared their plate. The service was incredible and very personable. We will definitely be coming back!
Fabulous Italian restaurant walking distance from the natural history museum. They have a giant gluten free menu that my gf guest adored. Good gf bruschetta, the seafood pasta was great. My glutenous mushroom truffle pasta was delightful. The raviolo was one giant very meaty ravioli piece. The maremma drink was orange-forward. The falso spritz was good, not too sweet, and somewhat herby. I wish their mocktail menu was more extensive.
We completely enjoyed the experience of dining here. The food was delicious. We enjoyed , as the appetizer , the beef carpaccio . Perfect in all ways . Definitely enough to share. As entrees, we ordered were chicken francaise and eggplant parmesan. The chicken was prepared beautifully. One cutlet , seasoned perfectly , served lightly coated and a very nice white wine butter sauce . Also a side of mashed potato to rival mom's. The eggplant was so good . Probably the best we've ever tasted. The sauce , the cheese, the nicely breaded eggplant was brought together so well . Very high compliments to the chef and kitchen staff on that and of course the whole dinner. The wait staff/ servers were very attentive . We did not feel rushed and definitely gave us some excellent recommendations. The meal concluded with an after dinner cognac and a lemon sorbet , both very nice. Also a very nice chat with one of the owners who brought to our table a lemon cello , gratis. Our recommendation would be definitely go and enjoy this gem of a place. P.S. We were enjoying the dinner so much, we never thought to take photos of the food. I'm thinking that says more than a photo could.
The food is outstanding. I had pappardele buttera and recommend it. My friend had spaghetti with meatballs and they loved it. The service (usually good) was mixed. The busser was excellent, fast and friendly. The server was having a bad day, though. Unfriendly, only came to check on us after we flagged him down from across the room to get a drink that had been ordered twice.
Looking for a great meal before your show at the Beacon Theatre? This restaurant is for you! We made a reservation through OpenTable with no problem and they had it waiting for us. Side salads as appetizers house vinaigrette was quite good but the Caesar was also elevated. Salmon was ordered medium rare and came out perfect. The sauce on the Bolognese was outstanding. Tiramisu was very light - and very good. Service was on point even though we sat outside. Highly recommend!
Great eggplant parm and chicken parm. Zabaglione for desert was refreshing and light. Overall a great experience which will definitely be repeated! The only suggestion would be to update the ambiance music to some selections that don’t include over-played Sinatra. Other than that everything was great!
We visited for the first time and had a great experience. Since we had our furry friend with us, we opted to sit outside, which was a pleasant choice. The inside had a cozy ambiance with a charming old-fashioned vibe, making it feel warm and inviting. We ordered the veal cutlet, which was incredibly tasty—perfectly marinated and full of flavor. Whether you're looking for a relaxed outdoor dining experience or a cozy indoor atmosphere, this spot is definitely worth checking out!
I visited Pappardelle restaurant to celebrate my daughter's birthday, and we had a truly delightful experience. The restaurant has a charming ambiance, with tasteful decor that exudes warmth and elegance, making it a perfect spot for special occasions. Although it’s a small establishment, it is exceptionally well-organized and comfortable, allowing for a cozy dining experience. The service was outstanding; we arrived 30 minutes early for our reservation, and to our pleasant surprise, we were seated immediately without any hassle. Our waitress was not only friendly but also knowledgeable about the menu, providing excellent recommendations that enhanced our meal. The food was a highlight of the evening—each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. We particularly enjoyed the homemade pasta and the rich sauces that accompanied our entrees. Overall, I would definitely return to Pappardelle restaurant for future celebrations or simply to enjoy a great meal. I highly recommend it to anyone searching for a wonderful dining experience.

Our first night ever in NYC and this was where we had dinner. Spaghetti with tomato sauce, spaghetti with meatballs and asparagus. It was all so delicious and felt very authentic. Highly recommend!

So our experience at Pappardella started out a bit bumpy. Two hours before our reservation we received a Google notification that our reservation had been cancelled. We scrambled to find alternative arrangements at another restaurant but, last minute I figured it couldn't hurt to call and double check. Turns out our reservation had accidentally been duplicated, and we still had a reservation, the hostess was just clearing the duplicate from their reservation system. We dutifully headed over, unsure if we would make our original reservation slot. Here is where things recovered for me. 1. The service. We were just a few minutes tardy, and the hostess, who was very kind, checked our coats for us. Luckily, our table had just been set. Our waiter was professional and helpful. We let him know we had a hard stop (we were heading to a show at the Beacon after) and he checked in to make sure everything was coming out in a timely manner, which was very attentive of him. 2. The vibe was immaculate. There was not a single unhappy face in the whole restaurant. The mood lighting and the packed tables really created this vibrant atmosphere. The decor was typically Upper West Side Tuscan-inspired, but very classic and bistro-like. I love restaurants that have a more eclectic feel usually, but this one knows what it is about. And it is about great FOOD. 3. The food was stunning. I had the vodka pasta, the chicken parmigiana and the chocolate flourless tort. I just about died and went to heaven. Every bite was absolutely beautiful. The vodka sauce was as rich as it gets without too much spice or alcohol. The chicken was nicely crisped on the edges with just the right amount of sauce and spaghetti on the side. And the portions were generous for Manhattan. Sometimes you feel you need an appetizer to go with the entree; this was not really the case. I do agree with the assessment that the bread is not good, but it's free bread at a Manhattan joint, you can't really complain. The drinks are overpriced, but its Manhattan, you also can't really get wine for cheap at a restaurant here anymore. We also had tea after, and the water they gave us was too cold, so it didn't really steep well, but they did use Harney and Sons which was a plus. My overall assessment was that I would go back, and I don't live anywhere near here, so that's saying something!
What a wonderful place to eat .. The service which is a general term for everyone inside this amazing place to eat. I loved every moment I spent inside this place. The bartender who served us almost immediately even though the bar so busy. The very lovely young woman who sat us at a very lovely and festive table. Everyone from the person who brought us water almost as soon as we sat to the waiter who served us was helpful and kind ( sorry, our experience was before X-mas and I forgot his name ) .. Regardless, the experience was amazing from the appetizers to the amazingly and delicately prepared fish entree I had for dinner .. I can't remember what my very special dinner companion had ( probably but I can definitely assure you that she was quite pleased as well. We enjoyed ourselves immensely right down to the coffee and the very decadent desert we shared. Don't miss this place as you'll certainly enjoy it.
Food was great! Highly recommend: ricotta di bufala, pan fried Burrata, and the pizza. All the deserts i tried were good. Caesar dressing on the salad was not overpowering either and tasted fresh. I ordered a Coca Cola and it was flat. Host noticed right away and got me another one but that seemed kind of flat too. Server wasn’t really enthusiastic about the wine selection but whatever we ended up with was good. Recommend to check this out before a show at the Beacon.
As others have said, for the price there are better and much worse places in the area. This is a local family restaurant it seemed to me, this was the charm. Great place for a family dinner, date, business meet up. Very nice atmosphere and the food is very good. You won't regret dinner here.
Just a short walk from the museum, Pappardella is a charming Italian spot with both indoor and outdoor seating. The space is warm and inviting, but what truly made our visit special was the hostess. She was incredibly kind and attentive, even when my little nephew became cranky - She brought over crayons to help keep him entertained — a small gesture that made a big difference. We split a Margherita Pizza as an appetizer. it was a delicious start to the meal, light and flavorful. For the main course we ordered two dishes that we split between 3 people; Pappardelle Buttera – Rich and comforting with sweet and spicy sausage, sweet green peas, and a sage-infused vodka sauce. And the Gnocchi Pomodoro o Pesto – served with basil pesto sauce green beans. Both desserts we ordered were excellent! The Torta di Cioccolato – A warm, flourless chocolate cake served with hazelnut gelato and caramel sauce. And my favorite, the Tiramisu della Casa – Classic and well-executed, with layers of espresso-soaked ladyfingers and airy mascarpone. Not overly sweet, just right. The food was fresh and full of flavor, and the service was thoughtful and warm. Whether you're with family or just looking for a quiet corner to enjoy good Italian food, Pappardella is worth the stop.
The atmosphere is homey and very cozy. The food was good, but the garlic bread we got was not to my liking. The garlic flavor was very mild and the bread was cold, so it would not be an appetizer that we would recommend! I liked my pasta, I got the vegan pasta with mushrooms, it was sensational and I highly recommend it!
