The Cooper Still is a lively pub with a great atmosphere, attentive staff (especially Ross and Janaya), and delicious food and drinks. Happy hour deals are a big draw. Some found the noise level high. Automatic gratuity was an issue for some.

Me and my friends were looking for a brunch spot in the city and decided to come here! It was $25 per person for bottomless which was such a great deal! Our server was so friendly and welcoming. The service was fast and our drinks were always full through our bottomless. The food didn’t disappoint as well. Overall it was a 10/10, perfect for a calm or boozy brunch!
A very pleasant place to gather after work. The food is delicious, the cocktails are amazing, and the service is impeccable. Great music and atmosphere. Highly recommended!🫶🏻
Hello, I’ve been coming to this place for over two years, and it never disappoints. Great atmosphere, amazing American food, and a vibe that always makes you want to come back. The food is excellent—my favorites are the chicken quesadillas and the peppers, always delicious and well prepared. The music is incredible and really sets the perfect mood. Special shoutout to David, the bartender. He’s friendly, attentive, and someone I always enjoy connecting with. He truly makes the experience even better. Highly recommend this spot for great food, drinks, music, and overall vibes. 🍔🍹
Had a wonderful time. Our server was amazing she recommended us a couple plates to share that hit the spot! Great food, great vibe and service was 10/10 def coming back!
I loved this Bar. I didn't try the food so I can't rate it. The place is very spacious. They have televisions. The bartender, Ross, was great. The happy hour deals are very good. The Cocktails are great and there's a great Beer 🍺 selection. The atmosphere is laid back and friendly. I will definitely have to come back and try the food.
My wife and I stopped here on a rainy evening with a few hours to kill before going to a movie and enjoyed our drinks here. The aviation tonic and dragon rider, which was thankfully not overly sweet, were excellent and prices were reasonable. Ditto for the seasonal pumpkin mule cocktail. Overall, the laidback vibe was what we wanted and the staff checked on us without being in our faces every 5mins. Only food we’d had were the fries (no complaints there).
The staff was attentive contrary to reviews. The team performed admirably during our entire meal. Quality cooking with fresh ingredients that won't empty your wallet. The meal was perfect! The whole experience exceeded expectations.
The Copper Still bar is an altar for connoisseurs of fine drinks. Here every sip is a journey into the world of flavours and aromas. Master bartenders, with the talent of alchemists, create cocktails that will not leave indifferent even the most sophisticated gourmet. The bar menu reflects the aspiration to perfection. The best sorts of whiskey, rum, cognac, liqueurs - everything is collected to satisfy the most demanding taste. Perfect serving and impeccable service complete the picture.
Great food, great service & great atmosphere. Came here during Christmas time so it’s hard to get into a lot of places but we were seated within 10 mins. The music was great & the bar was lively. Got the chips and dip and they were the perfect amount of saltiness. Our mains were deceivingly big, lots of fries as the side and our drinks were also perfect. 10/10 would come back!!
Easily one of the best happy hour spots in the city. The deals are phenomenal and the cocktails are delicious. We ended up going here with some work buddies and tried just about everything on the happy hour menu. It was was great but I think the pork sliders were my favorite. The Brussels sprouts were top notch as well. They have a decent beer selection with a few on the happy hour menu. I’ll be back for sure.
Slow service, but a great location with creative cocktails and quality ingredients. Good place to stop for a drink if you’re not in a hurry.
Me an my guest hand the pear salads! Mine with shrimp her,s with chicken! Both were fresh an had flavor! Our server was attentive ! So that was a plus. Nice laid back decor !
Late lunch/early dinner on a Saturday. Excellent service and very good food/drinks. Steak sandwich a definite 👍👍👍 Only negative was the insane sound levels. I know the kids love it, but Good Lord--crazy loud.
We went to The Copper Still in early September we loved this pub. We had been walking from the financial district and heading back to our hotel in time square. Feeling a need for a drink we caught an eye on this gem. Brilliant bar service, a good selection of beers and spirits and a food menu. We didn’t have food or seen anyone eating at the time but the menu looked good. We found that our evening venue at the Gotham Comedy Club (🙁) was nearby and our intention was to return later for beer and food. Would definitely recommend and return to this establishment when we come back to New York City - a class venue 😻❤️👍
I recently visited The Copper Still during happy hour, and I had a fantastic experience! The vibe of the bar is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot to unwind after a long day. I enjoyed two drinks, both of which were delicious and fairly priced. The affordability of the drinks was a pleasant surprise! What truly stood out was the friendly staff, who made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. Overall, I highly recommend The Copper Still for a great evening out. I’ll definitely be returning!
6/25/23 It was a nice evening so we sat outside. We had the big pretzel, that was really good! Brussels sprouts, they were very good. Also split the fish tacos, they were good but STILL not double wrapped. They held together a little bit better this time because they were not so wet. The beer was cold and the service was good. Really easy to split the check with the new Toast device. I like that the sinks to wash up are not in the bathroom. 4/3/21 Back for dinner. We sat outside and split the fish tacos and a burger. The tacos are soft corn tortillas and SHOULD be Double wrapped. They were not and fell apart :( really? Are you telling me the chef doesn't eat them or know that a single corn tortilla does not hold up to anything wet? They did taste good, I would get them again but ask for double wrap. The Burger was fine. The Tater-Tots were good but at $8 it was a bit steep for my GF who was under the impression that they were homemade. I informed her there are no homemade Tater-Tots ;) The Service was 50/50. We had a new waitress that is still learning and didn't check on us. The waiter that helped us with beer was great. The guy who brought our food never came back with the steak knife and extra plate we asked for. Certainly not all that bad and we will come back. 9/28/19 update: back for brunch, sat inside. I had the Eggs Benedict, really good with a thick piece of ham (~¼") see photo. Gf had the breakfast burrito- she said it was the best one she's ever had (her words, not mine). I'll have to try it next time. Coffee still great & server was really nice. We had brunch here, sat outside. Service was good. *No Sweet N Low*. Coffee was good. We had the Eggs Florentine, very good and a good amount of food with the potatoes and salad. Coffee+free refill was included in the price, so we liked that we didn't end up with a huge brunch bill. Friendly staff- we'll be back!
We came here for the bottomless special (1.5 hr) for brunch. Our server was nice, mimosas were good, sparkling and cold. But food.. wasn't seasoned, I ordered a burger and I didn't taste any pepper, garlic or onions. My friends ordered waffles and chicken (server recommended them), well waffles were saggy. They couldn't finish them. Nice bar but food is not the best.
We were here for a quick dinner, and I really wanted to like this place a bit more. Lots of street side seating and quick service were promising, and it definitely has its highlights. The tater tot poutine is exactly as you’d hope for - saucy, messy and absolutely delicious. If you’re here for one thing only, make sure it’s this. We were not disappointed. The other dishes we ordered, however, were unfortunately lacking in flavour or just plain boring. Not bad, mind you, but for these prices in this area, the competition is too strong not to try harder. The drinks were acceptable, though also unexceptional. Overall we had a fine experience, and the service was great, but there are too many better options around NYC.
Food was decent, service was terrible. We had a brunch reservation here for a large group after the half marathon. We go in and the hostess tells us the have this standing room with bar seating BACK TO BACK and that’s where we should eat brunch. We said that’s odd and asked if we could sit at a normal table but weren’t offered one until 15 minutes later when we talked to someone else. Very odd. Food however was surprisingly good so if you don’t mind the bar vibes and bar service then it’s a decent brunch option.
I’m a former New Yorker, so I know the tipping culture here perfectly well, but what happened tonight was unacceptable. We were a party of 2, and the establishment forced a 20% automatic gratuity on our bill without any prior notice. It felt like blatant profiling—as if they decided to lock in the tip just because my friend has a French accent. To make matters worse, the service didn't even justify it. Our designated waitress completely ignored our table at some point because she was too busy chatting with her colleagues, to the point where another waitress had to step in and take our order. Forcing a tip for mediocre, inattentive service is a total tourist trap practice. It’s a shame to see such a lack of transparency and professional pride. If you’re a local or a traveler who values honest service, avoid this place. There are plenty of other spots in the neighborhood that still respect their customers.
