Thankful today for Harold 🌞! Got there right before closing and he really brightened my day. He was attentive, kind and still smiling after a long sticky NYC summer day.😎 Even though the ran out of my favourite Brooklyn Blackout they had other great flavors! Thanks Harold for going above and beyond today! I love Doughnut Plant... can't wait for then to expand globally starting with Jersey City! #PresidentOfTheDPFanClub 🍩🍩🍩
Best doughnuts anywhere ever. And some of the best house-made chai anywhere….!!! Seasonal specials are so fun! The creme brûlée dough seeds are divine! They always have the nicest staff!! I never ever miss an opportunity to go!
Had breakfast at Doughnut plant in grand central this morning! I was served by Marina and she should excellent customer service! The booth was clean and organized! Tres Leches cold brew was amazing!! I definitely recommend eating here for all you doughnut lovers!
This is located in Grand Central Station level 3 off the escalator. We had some trouble locating but the maps in the station ultimately directed us with success. Creme Brulee, Square Filled, Carrot Cake, Chocolate and more. This is not a full store so be mindful the selection may be limited.
Gabby, Luis and Harold, along with the rest of the team. I really like speaking with them just as much as eating my fav Tres Leches Doughnut.
Carrot cake donut is elite, so is Elijah! So much love to him and whatever he plans to do in life! The donuts are fantastic, highly suggest the one he chose for me bc i was having a meltdown. Kindness goes a long way for people like me (autistic and trying my best). Thank you for seeing me Elijah and being so helpful/ kind. The atmosphere sucks because grand central stinks.
The manager, Marina, and her staff are always friendly. When I stop by, I am always greeted with a smile. They also know what I am going to order before I place my order. The service is excellent. I would recommend Doughnut Plant to anyone. I love their peanut butter/jam doughnut. It is delicious.
Great doughnuts and friendly, helpful, and quick service. Fun and tasty seasonal varieties!
My son and I have eaten so many types of donuts in our lives. These were by far the tastiest and fluffiest donuts I’ve ever had. I’m a typical glazed girl and holy cow! That glazed donut was pure heaven. I wish I could’ve brought some home with me. The blueberry cake donut was also pretty good. My son LOVED the pb and j donut. Tasted just like a pb and j. I really enjoyed this place.
This was my first time visiting Doughnut Plant and I must say they are delicious! I'm not really a doughnut/donut type of person. I mean dont get me wrong I like them but I dont crave them. Well my cravings might have been a little different today after trying one of these. They are definitely the perfect combination of everything you could want and the only thought I have now is when am I going back and what am I having next???
Great spot for when I’m craving something sweet. I don’t consume any dairy, and I love that they have plentiful vegan options that are always available. One staff member, Marina, is always very attentive and kind. She has consistently provided professional, high-quality service.
I stop by at least once a week to have their delicious doughnuts. But the real reason I keep coming back is Yusuf, always brings a smile to my face and starts my morning great. The combination of great customer service and doughnuts are the perfect way to start a hectic NY morning commute.
Shout out to Elijah for the great recommendations, I got the best donuts EVER! I stopped by earlier today just having a look, not sure if I needed the sugar & he convinced me to just try a mini to see how I liked it. I ended up leaving with 3 flavors (Mexican wedding cake, strawberry crumble & tres leches donut.) Chef’s kiss, will def be back to try his other recommendations.
Would give 6 stars if I could for service. The person behind the counter gave me an extra creme Brulee donut for free when I bought a single one.
I love their sourdough strawberry vegan donut. Tasty, fluffy, sugar glazed. Perfect, plain and cruelty free! :)
Opted to try something new on a trip and Alissa was SO BEYOND HELPFUL! Recommend the strawberry vegan donut and I was skeptical at first but gave it a shot and I gotta say it was the best vegan donut I ever had!!
Great flavors and service. Doughnut Plant is a staple for family events. Allergy friendly with gluten free and vegan options.
Passed by this downstairs in the dining concourse of #GrandCentralTerminal on 42nd st. I was drawn to the cute and colorful donut display. But of course I had to try some😝. The pistachio and wild blueberry were delightful. I am going back for the others. There are other #DoughnutPlant locations in NYC like in Chelsea, Long Island City, Brooklyn, Grand St downtown, so if you are hankering for flavorful donuts, you should definitely try them out.
I use to tell people there were no good donuts in manhattan… and then I came here! The normal selection of donuts is so great, and the rotating ones are always exceptional (Mother’s Day jasmine donuts were next level). Shout out to Luis who noted my hesitation about a coconut donut, and just threw one in for free! Seriously made my day and opened my mind to the genius of a coconut donut. I now try all the obscure flavors. Happy to be a customer for life, you should definitely give them a go!
First of all, I love doughnut plant. I think they are the best doughnuts ever, and what’s cooler is that they are egg free! You can never feel they are missing something! This branch is always nice every time I pass by. Elijah helped me with my order. I came by for my birthday, and Elijah eagerly helped me even with the app snafu. He made my birthday special. Really great customer service that matches the love and care and yumminess of their doughnuts!
11/30/24 update. Coming here for several months since I first tried their horchata, Marina suggested I should tried it with espresso. I decided to give it a shot with a “cappuccino” AMAZING staff finally a spot in Grand central that serves great coffee . Their products are amazing, you can taste the freshness. Tried tres leches, and their seasonal strawberries short cake, with an horchata and chai masala I wasn’t disappointed at all. Ladies @ counter were AMAZING!
My main man Elijah here at Doughnut Plant is incredible. First timers, he gives us two incredible recommendations! I can only recommend the donuts and service, delicious and awesome people!
Great tasting donuts! I had MARZIPAN STAR and CHRISTMAS TREE. Many items will be sold out by end of the day. Both good. I usually don't like mint but barely tasted or wasn't too strong not to like Christmas Tree. CHRISTMAS TREE $5.45 Fresh mint glaze on the outside. Chocolate pudding on the inside MARZIPAN STAR $4.95 We make our own marzipan with real almonds. You'd need to go down the cafeteria inside Grand Central to access. No where to really sit down and eat.
BEST Donut Shop in NYC! I visited this spot on 05/03/2025 after being let down by that overhyped viral donut place called “I’m Donut” (1 hour wait for favor less overpriced donuts. don’t even get me started major disappointment). Thankfully, this gem completely turned my night around. No crazy lines, super friendly staff, and actual delicious donuts that don’t cost a fortune—yes, even on a Saturday night! I got 5 donuts and a drink without breaking the bank. Elijah, in particular, was an absolute star and so kind. I told him how disappointed I was with the other place, and he went above and beyond to make sure I left happy. You can really tell he cares about the customers and values loyalty. So glad I stopped by! Please support this place. Their donuts are the real deal—soft, flavorful, and just perfect. Eat now, count calories tomorrow! Xo, A New Yorker
I love Doughnut Plant! They always have unique and exciting flavors, and I like their rewards system. I appreciate that their doughnuts are all vegetarian and made with natural flavors. I eagerly look forward to going to Doughnut Plant each week. Highly recommend!
Let's start with the location! If you are looking for the doughnut plant, it's located within the dining concourse. I got the peanut butter and banana cream and a coconut cream doughnut. Some of the best in the city. They are so light, yet pretty airy and filling. The flavors as well are not overpowering and it's not just covered in sugar. You can taste the dough as it rips apart on each bite. Great doughnuts and a great snack to walk around Grand Central or New York City. You gotta put this place on your list.
Some of the best donuts I have ever had - and I have tried many places in NYC and beyond! The gluten free donuts are delicious and you cannot tell no wheat was used.
There are few establishments in the City that define Five Star quality, the best of the best, with no competition and no rivals, Doughnut Plant is one of a very few that everyone knows is the absolute top Doughnut shop in NYC
First trip to NYC and imagine my delight when I found you guys at Grand Central Terminal! I had to buy several donuts after Alissa and Gabriella kept pointing out favorites! What a fabulous surprise!!
I’ve tried a few famous donut shops in NYC and Doughnut plant is by far the BEST ever. PB&J and creme brulee are the best! I don’t eat extremely sweet and these 2 are just the decent sweet level for me. The plain glazed one is too sweet but the dough is super good. I also tried Brooklyn blackout cake one and it was ok for me, not too sweet, dark, cakey and a bit wet :/ If you’re getting the one will filling inside then I recommend to eat right away after you get them from the shop because the sauce will sink in and make it less doughy.
Just tried their vegan doughnuts and they were SO good. Couldn't tell they were vegan, fluffy and delicious just like regular ones!
One of the less crowded places in the terminal, I came for a vegan donut and they have 4 sourdough options which have such a soft airy but slightly dense crumb and not too sweet it was one of my favorite desserts! 6$ for a single doughnut was steep but considering the location and variety it isn't so bad
One of the best coffees on grand central, not burn and with amazing flavor and definitely you have to try the doughnut, they have, gluten frees and veggies its incredible the menú that they have, If you passing around grand central you have yo try it, good service and perfect if you are in a rush😄🥰
The grand central location has fresh doughnuts, delicious coffee, and excellent service. Specifically Luis who recommend the tres leches cold brew. Absolutely incredible!
Over the years, Doughnut Plant has been making delicious, vegan donuts for everyone, and they have many flavors! The location is in the Dining Concourse inside the Grand Central Terminal, and it is located below the terminal. I highly recommend them on your visit to the Grand Central Terminal! Enjoy!!!
Great donuts, great service, very good coffee! I gave atmosphere 3 stars only because of the GCT location. Crowded and noisy. Other than that, awesome!
This is my favorite coffee/matcha place. The fact that they have fermented oat milk is a huge plus. I love Gabriella, by far the best customer service and the best tasting coffee and matcha lattes. I also always get my doughnut plant points—that’s not the case with everyone who works there.
I grab my coffee every morning here, the Pecan Glaze and the Tres Leches cold brew is amazing!!! The donuts are unique and my faved are PB Jelly, Coconut Cream!! Gabby and Marina are the sweetest!!! Sometimes customers will place large orders and they do a great job keeping the line moving!! Really sweet girl and customers always have a smile.
Very tasty and delicious fresh donuts. Staff was friendly, attentive and handled the line traffic well. It can easily get overwhelming in such a busy and popular public transportation space but they do an excellent job maintaining their delightful little shop. Always a special treat to pick up a unique donut on the way home. 🍩 ✨
I came on a whim to wait for a late train. I tried the Brooklyn blackout doughnut and it felt exactly like having a donut at dunkin felt when I was a kid. Definitely way better and the chocolate is better balanced than I expected. I'm thankful I had Elijah there to give me that experience. Will be coming back for my transfers again.
What a lovely experience. My sister and I were grabbing a snack after a day of shopping and the man at the counter was so sweet and helped us choose the right mix of donuts. We love the Grand Central donuts! I hope you read this and it makes your day as much as it did ours - on Sunday January 11 at 3:30pm.
Hands down, the best doughnuts I’ve ever had—to die for. Doughnut Plant absolutely lives up to the hype and then some. Every bite was incredibly fresh, perfectly balanced, and bursting with flavor. These aren’t just doughnuts—they’re a full experience. The texture was flawless: soft, light, and never greasy. You can taste the quality in every detail, from the dough to the glazes and fillings. It’s clear why this place is legendary in NYC—once you try them, nothing else compares. If you’re in New York City and don’t stop by Doughnut Plant, you’re seriously missing out. Worth every calorie and every minute of the wait. I’ll be dreaming about these doughnuts for a long time. 🍩🔥
Surprisingly good donuts! Every time I've gone here whilst at Grand Central, the staff are very friendly and the donuts are always great. A little pricey, at $5+ per donut usually, but a lot of food in Grand Central and Manhattan can be pricey, good for if you're in a rush though!
My sister really wanted to try a Crème Brulee doughnut. We came to the location in Grand Central Station one evening, but they had run out. So we went the next day, earlier in the day, and we were able to get one! They have a case at the front that shows what they have available, so we were able to see if they had them in stock before we went up to the register. We ordered one doughnut, and it was $5. The person who took our order was very nice. It was a very interesting and unique doughnut. It was very sticky and there was not as much cream filling on the inside as I would have hoped- but the flavor was really good, and the texture was nice. They have a special Grand Central Station doughnut that is made to look like the ceiling, which is super cute! I would definitely come back to try a different flavor.
I really love hot apple cider—it’s my go-to winter drink, especially when I don’t want anything with dairy or caffeine. One day, I noticed the store only had cold apple cider, so I asked if it could be heated. The staff—always different each time, and I regret not catching their names—were so kind and happy to help. Their attitude and service really left an impression on me. Today I learned it’s the last day you’ll be selling apple cider, and I was honestly so sad to hear that. Most coffee shops don’t offer apple cider anymore, and this has been the only place in the area with such a delicious one. I truly hope it can stay on the menu. I also want to give a shout-out to the team, especially Luis (and Sam), for their kindness and great service during today’s visit and all the previous ones.
OMG!!! Gluten Free Donuts, Say What!!! Sam and Walter took really good care of me at the Donut Plant in Central Station. Walter let me know that they not only feature the two GF donuts but that they take their Specialty Donuts and rotate them out making them GF. Love this! I was so excited to be even able to eat donuts again that I bought both of this months Specials! A Marcona Almond Cake Donut and an Apple Cinnamon Glaze. So freaking good! I’m going to have to make a trip next month just to try the next two they decide to do!
Update (3 years later): I don’t know what changed. Sourdough Vegan Chocolate donuts do not taste the same since this past year. I definitely don’t like it. Might have to make a trip to their original spot but who knows when I’ll be back there. Never thought this place would be back. I was able to enjoy this angelic chocolate vegan sourdough piece of heaven. Picked up a whole box with a few coconut cream and pumpkin sourdough. Life is good.
I was extremely happy to find a doughnut plant in GCS. I've been going to the Soho location for years and was all but too excited to see this location open. The doughnuts are incredible which is to be expected. Happy to know I can pop into Grand Central for a delicious test when coming home after a long day.
The vanilla bean with strawberry jam doughnut tasted good and relatively fresh as I got it early in the morning. They have a lot of options to choose from. I also tried their seasonal pistachio sourdough doughnut. Chewy but you can't taste any pistachio and too sweet. The strawberry sourdough yeast doughnut was good. The glaze is pretty sweet.
Grand Central is a unique setting so that's the atmosphere, but the service was poor. The skinny guy looked so grumpy and told me there was no jam donuts when their holiday special has jam! The Grand Central mini donut was a little stale or it had been soaked in something. The crème brûlée donut was tasty. The custard filling was nice and the texture was good.
When we got to this donut shop there were sold out of a lot of donuts. We ordered three donuts and they were all good. The mini grand central donut was by favorite. We also got the Brooklyn blackout and black and white donut. I was surprised that the black and white was a half chocolate donut dipped in chocolate.
Staff is great, super friendly But! The donuts we tried were really just kind of meh. The coffee my husband and I got was terrible. I definitely wouldn’t go back. Although, like I said, the service was really nice.
I got a vegan doughnut and cold brew with oat milk and vanilla syrup to share with my boyfriend with a dairy allergy, he immediately had an allergic reaction after sipping the cold brew, they are not careful about allergies. When I informed the girl working there of the incident, she did not care. We ended up having to go to the hospital after administering an epipen, this kind of carelessness is unacceptable.
I’ll never order from this business again. We placed an order for delivery and purchased gluten free donuts along with standard donuts. They combined all into one package. Any business providing gluten free food should know that is the first thing you don’t do, this cross contaminated the food can get people sick. Do better.
