Great food from multiple cuisines with good portions and decent prices. Good amount of seating, friendly staff and good selection of options including breakfast food in the morning and sweet pastries/cookies. Great place to check out if watching a movie at the AMC nearby. We had the lamb and mushroom, spinach cheese empanadas, the half roasted chicken bowl and the pistachio croissant and loved them all. The hot sauce is very spicy.
I’ve got the lamb torta. It was like heaven ☁️. 10 out of 5. Amazing taste, can’t describe with words but tried to film 😂 100% will advise to try it to all my friends
Came in to eat dinner before watching a movie. And I was pleasantly surprised by the recommendation for the lamb torta. The price was a little much for me but still decide to try it and it was very good. The meat was very flavorful and was basically a torta. My only critique was the bread was a toasted a little too much so it got flakey. That's really it and the place was very clean and the gentleman at the counter was great and provided grade A costumer service and told me to have a great day after I left which is always a plus! Hope the owners and managers take note of that man's work ethic! Will definitely come back to try the other yummy things on this menu!
Feb ‘23 update: the management made it right and I had a very enjoyable visit. Rating adjusted. Unfortunately very disappointed with the size and quality of the empanadas, considering how overpriced it is. The crust was soggy (meaning it was microwaved), while the meat was dry and lacking flavors. I also didn’t like that the server was looking intently at the tipping screen during the payment. Giving two stars since he was otherwise friendly.
Awesome place to grab a quick bite to eat! The employees are incredibly friendly and it’s a newer, clean-feeling shop. I got the carnitas shawarma and a sausage, egg and cheese empanada. Highly recommend the carnitas shawarma! The pork was so tender, no gristly or fatty pieces at all. It had strong flavor with a freshness added by the lettuce and tomato. The empanada was fairly average, a bit cold in parts. I’d come back for the carnitas shawarma.
this is a great spot. I had the lamb torta and it was excellent! Some of the best lamb I’ve had in a sandwich in the city. It was real and slow roasted. Not pressed meat. I grew up in Egypt and love lamb FWIW 😁.
Delicious food! We had empanadas and the roasted street corn, and all of it was so good that I kept doing a little happy dance in my seat! Can't wait to go back.
I think everything sounds good on the menu, it took me long to choose one dish 😂 Tried the salmon za’atar and it was nice. Nicely seasoned with za’atar rub and balanced with some kind of chimichurri on top. The mac & cheese side tasted clean, creamy, and cheesy. Fair-portion, good portion, all love 🫶🏼

The right place for a lighter meal and one with an appetizer vibe...my favorite! Excellent empanada and the humus was delicious and generously served and presented. Look forward to exploring more next week!!! Mil Gracias! Okay, 3rd time in and still so impressed! They were out of humus so I mixed it up with the lamb empanada and the tortilla soup. Everything was so fresh and the lamb empanada so unique and flavorful!!! As the last two tmes, the staff were quite attentive despite it getting late. To my surprise, one of the woman came around and handed me a small bag with a portion of humus and accompanying chips; I guess she heard the disappointment in my voice when I double-checked the menu indicating they were out of humus!!! So, I will likely return in a couple of weeks because businesses like this are what makes NYC special...just the best!
Food is delicious and yummy I love the hummus and salad combo and the turmic rice was amazing
I love this place so much! The food is really great, and affordable. Plus, I love that the supporting migrants and migrant causes. It feels like a win-win all around. I love their crispy cauliflower wrap, which never disappoints. The sweet potatoes are amazing. The spiced lemonade is unlike anything I’ve ever had and I can’t stop ordering it. If I had one complaint it would be that the space is a little tiny, and feels a little more like a fast food environment, but it’s always clean, and the staff are so nice, it totally makes up for it. Plus, the operated the Ballfields Cafe in Central Park, which is casual and outdoors, so if you’re looking for ambience you can’t get better than that. I’ve been coming back and back and back! I love it!
The Migrant Kitchen is a true gem on the Upper West Side! The food is absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish feels inspired, blending Middle Eastern and Latin American flavors in a way that’s both creative and comforting. The staff are warm, welcoming, and attentive, making you feel right at home the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is relaxed yet stylish — perfect for a casual lunch, brunch, or dinner with friends. I especially loved the chicken shawarma bowl — juicy, perfectly seasoned, and served with vibrant sides that made the whole plate come alive. Their hummus and sauces are also fantastic! Overall, The Migrant Kitchen is more than just a restaurant — it’s a celebration of culture, community, and great food. Highly recommended for anyone looking for something fresh and flavorful on the Upper West Side.
I stopped in looking for something healthy and hopefully affordable which was a success! The fattoush salad with salmon was super delicious, it's definitely going to become a regular go-to of mine. The lamb sorta sounds amazing and will need to try that too. Friendly and hospitable service! All around, a great neighborhood spot.

So I got a chicken sandwich (spicy to be specific) and the presentation was good but overall the sandwich was so dry, the chicken was over cooked and hard as a puck, the fries that came with it were good texture was but the flavor was very very bland and off putting, I got a 15 dollar burger and opted to just eat the bread because the chicken was inedible, was extremely disappointed with everything I got and left hungry and dissatisfied, I came because of the reviews and the buy a meal give a meal but I cant see myself coming back here at all. Extremely dissatisfied the only thing I enjoyed was the bread, even my hibiscus tea tasted like water and always still $4.50 for 12 oz. Honestly I’d go somewhere else if you want a good bite, it was mid day with not dinner rush so I didn’t understand it was so bad, safe yourself some money

Got the chicken burrito. The filling was salty. The chicken pieces were too huge to be eaten properly. The cheese quality was very sub par. The whole combination was not worth at all.

the first time i went here it was fantastic. i got the chicken schwarma wrap. this time it was awful. the wrap was basically all lettuce. no tomato included & after asking for it (it’s on the menu included with the wrap) i was met with attitude & them trying to convince me that tomato was not included in the wrap. luckily they made another one for me after much convincing but i was still disappointed in the second one & the contents ratio.

I ordered a Chicken Mole Burrito. Through class pass and it was completely inedible. It was so salty. I had to throw it away. Please do better. Especially if most of your customers go on their lunch break and I took a 15 minute walk to this place, and it was very disappointing
We bought 2 of their cucumber mint lemonade. One is large and one is small then my friend argued that it’s the same size and it is. They use a taller and a shorter cup but they have the same exact volume so you pay more for the same size. See video attached
The food is too dry and flavorless. Chicken pieces were too big, beans too dry, more salt and less flavor.

At approximately 4:10 pm,on November 15,I enter the restaurant and observed an employee prepping tomato’s and eating them with the same hand, and continued prepping and eating the tomatoes with the same hand. There’s a surveillance camera overlooking the employees, please review the footage.Yes,there was someone prepping food and eating in front of the customers, and I ended up walking away.I witnessed two Hispanic female employees at the time. You can see me and my girlfriend if you bothered to check your surveillance footage. You should be able to identify us,I’ll ask the owner if he can identify the clothing we were wearing.Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I came to this place happy, because I was so starving and wanted some empanadas. I order 3 spinach, mushrooms and cheese empanadas, 3 lamb empanadas and a pork wrap with no jalapeño. The mushrooms empanadas were not even cooked enough! The dough still was raw, and the taste was disgusting! Terrible bad! After 2 little bites, we didn't eat it! When I looked to the other empanadas, to see if looked uncooked like the others, for my surprise, there is no lamb empanadas in my bag! Instead it, they gave me a bowl with pork and some rice and beans. And the wrap was soooo spicy! All the jalapeño I asked to not add, I think they add double! The music was sooooo loud, I think they couldn't even understand what I was ordering. At the end, I spent $67 in a disgusting food! I'm latin, grow up in the kitchen with my grandma, this food is far from being latin food.
