Bewertungen von Wolfgang’s Steakhouse New York
We went on Christmas Day and the place was packed. Everything about this restaurant is perfect. From the moment we stepped inside. The service was impeccable. The food was delicious and plentiful. The gorgeous ceilings and decor were stunning. Would recommend if you love steak. Plus it is wheelchair accessible.
Nick was our server and he was wonderful! Very personable and helpful on the menu. My brother and I had a wonderful time. As a former New Yorker I twas nice to come to a place that treates you like a local. Food was delicious as expected. We had ribeye and una tartare and veggie platter. Drinks were solid as well.
My most favorite restaurant! Steak!!! Tuna is unbelievable! Excellent chopped salad, good bread. Chocolate mousse cake is to die for. But steak is the number 1 reason to come! Excellent professional service, nice pleasant atmosphere. Of course you pay a lot for this experience, but it is worth it! Highly highly recommend this outstanding restaurant!
Ordered the porterhouse and the ribeye with some sides. Total came about a bit under $100 per person, party of 4. Got steaks medium rare. Steaks were good, nice crust, beefy flavor, not tough or chewy. Steak sauce was also really good, a bit sweet, oniony, and tangy. Did not taste much dry aged flavor, just good tasting steaks. Overall a 8.5/10. Vibe is loud and slightly crowded, old school tables, white tablecloth.
Celebrated my brother’s birthday but accidentally booked another Wolfgang’s location. It was a busy night and restaurant was full but we got seated pretty quickly. Food was great, we ordered a few appetizers, tomahawk steak and my favorite meal was lamb chops. Great service too, will definitely be back
Surprisingly we were able to get reservations on Friday night last minute. Our local foodie friend said for steaks this is the place and the only location that is still good. Our server recommended the porterhouse and guaranteed we will love it. He was absolutely right. This was top 3 steaks I’ve had and I’ve had thousands of steaks in many cities and countries.
Everything was great, especially the sides and appetizers, as well as the dessert platter. I really liked the tuna and the onion rings with sauce, however we asked for a medium steak but it came out medium rare almost too rare (which I do like but did not want this time) and the medium part was the best it melted so well, wish it was medium. Still a good experience. Would recommend lobster Mac and cheese, potato’s
This is a very nice Steak House. Very compatible with Peter Luger’s. But with table cloth, an extensive menu, and credit card 💳 options. Food is good. Servers are nice. The tables are close together and space is tight. Moderately clean facilities. NYC prices so bring your credit cards 💳. Several locations around NYC. Go here for a celebratory meal 🥘. There are many negative comments here for the food and service. So I would say be careful. We will definitely be going back.
The porterhouse steak was excellent. The very first bite was outstanding—rich and flavorful. However, as the steak cooled, it became noticeably tougher rather quickly, which was a bit disappointing. Service was mixed. One staff member was genuinely kind and attentive, but there were moments that felt careless and unprofessional. When I asked for a replacement fork after it fell, it was placed on the table rather abruptly. I also noticed a clear difference in how guests were greeted—some diners were welcomed very warmly with casual conversation, while others were treated more reservedly. This may not have been intentional, but it was noticeable. Not all staff behaved this way, and I want to be fair about that. Still, the overall experience felt less welcoming than expected. Interestingly, this stood in contrast to my visit to Keens Steakhouse the following day, where the hospitality felt consistently warm and respectful. Great steak, but service consistency could be improved.
This classic New York steakhouse is a classic New York steakhouse. If you enjoy that you will enjoy this. Steak was cooked to temperature, services was fast and efficient. Its everything you want a classic New York steakhouse to be. The picture is a bottle we got, it was good. It's here because Google is making me upload a picture but this is the only one I have because you know exactly what the food should look like and I say that in the most complementary way possible.
One of the best steaks I’ve had in NYC, ordered the rib eye mid rare and it just melted in your mouth. Perfectly seasoned and the crust was incredible. Other than the food, the wait staff were not very nice or didn’t seem like they wanted to be there. The place was packed to the brim and incredibly loud. Other than that, really enjoyed the experience.
4 stars for food because I’ve had better steak and fish, but the steak was cooked well (not too rare like Quality Bistro likes to do it), and the crème brûlée and accompanying homemade whipped cream were incredible. Their creamed spinach was also delicious, although it certainly leans less creamy than other places. Bread service, however, was not good. Stale bread and small squares of average butter. Wolfgang’s was VERY generous with the alcohol though! 5 stars for service because although the waiters were busy and not chatty, they were truly fast and they’re always checking each other’s tables to see if the diners needed anything. Pretty much every waiter that walked past us would glance at us to see if we needed water or if we needed plates taken away or anything. 5 stars for atmosphere because come on. It’s undeniably very cute and chic. Minus the creepy baby heads on the ceiling but hey. Do I think this place was worth $350 for 2 (including apps, dessert, one drink each). Absolutely not. But it’s a good place to take someone you want to impress. They won’t be disappointed.
Not what we expected. We’ve been to the branch in the Times building and the one downtown. Those restaurants are grand with huge ceilings and are filled with light while the noise easily floats upwards and disappears…this one is nothing like that though the barrel ceilings are nice. The tables are close but not on top of each other at the other branches but the park avenue site seems to have added too many tables and if you have claustrophobia maybe you should avoid. The waiters station was next to our table and a waiter dropped the giant metal peppermill on one of our party. Accidents happen but upon being informed there were no apologies or any change of behavior or environment…it didnt happen again but very nearly did multiple times. The rudeness was prevalent, the bartender serving us drinks while we waited for our table was a piece of work. Upset that we werent going to eat at the bar and provide him with a fatter tip mocked us for asking to see a menu and not using it. The rudeness at Lugers in Brooklyn or the old Durgin Park in Boston was part of the experience and charm…sadly here it was just poor customer service. Our waiters at the table and the hostesses were more than pleasant but the rest probably should not work in the service industry. The food was why we came and the tuna and bacon and bread and sides were all as expected. The steaks however felt more tough and unaged then they should have been. We thought we were eating much cheaper steaks. The presentation was exactly as expected but the quality of all of our steaks felt more Outback than Manhattan steak house. I would love to revisit this review but after spending over $250 per person for this very average meal with less than average service it is unlikely.
Not very friendly for a solo traveler. Although I had made a reservation for a table, they sat me at the bar. The bar menu was still full price. The bartender was friendly and inviting, but it wasn’t the holiday meal I had envisioned. The bread was cold. My steak was cooked perfectly. No dessert menu was offered. The value was questionable.
