Tasting the authentic "roujiamo" (Chinese hamburger) in a foreign land brings rare joy, making me feel as if I've returned to my hometown, savoring the delight of indulging in delicious cuisine.

10/10 Everything here was excellent. The fruit tea was my favorite. It was refreshing and flavorful. I got the Beef noodle soup, the beef was so tender and the noodles were nice and chewy. The customer service was great. I would definitely be back here again.👍 Pictures: Rose Lychee Tea, Specialty Fruit Tea, Beef Noodle Soup, Spicy Pan fried Lamb Noodles

Love love love this restaurant. Below is D11, freshly made noodles simmered with potato and pork rib, the added vinegar is just enough to bring out the fragrance of meat and potato.

Wonderful Chinese cuisine. Really enjoyed their spicy beef noodle soup and Chinese burger. One of the best Asian flavour I experienced in the US.

Best authentic Chinese food in the area. This is not your cheap Americanized General Tso's Chicken, but flavorful authentic chili oil works of art. Pretty much every noodle dish is a winner. The coveted Liangpi sells out on a daily basis. The Yangji Style Cold Broth Noodle is a close second. If you want to try real Chinese food, come here

Real deal Chinese food at a great price. Fresh noodles, savory sauces, and an extensive menu. This place did not disappoint. If you're in College Park and haven't been here, you need to go check it out. But don't expect to figure out what's in these dishes. You probably don't want to know, and it's delicious, so don't wreck it! 😋

Since moving to America from China, my wife has not been able to eat Chinese food in America. Also as a northerner, she doesn't enjoy southern cuisine like Cantonese food. We found this gem of a restaurant via the internet and she got really excited to see Northwestern food, which she loves. Liang Pi is exactly what she's been craving, and we were pleased to see that they have it. She liked it so much that she ordered two bowls of it. I got the Xin Jiang Pan Fried Noodles, Pork Burger, lamb and beef skewers, and one potato burger for my wife. I enjoyed them very much. My wife was very happy that she could finally eat real Chinese food in America. The place is small, so I'm guessing it fills up quick when school is in session. I like the artwork on the walls. Nice casual place to dine.

Not your average "Chinese" restaurant. Fantastic food, reasonable prices, good service. Don't go there expecting the same foods you'd find at a random carryout place, or Panda Express. Northwest Chinese serves a wide array of noodles, and soups mixed with a cornucopia of vegetable and meat options. My only complaint, is the entrée I ordered had a 🌶 icon next to it. I was expecting it to be spicy, and it really wasn't even mildly spicy. That being said, I still loved the dish. One of the best food options in CP hands down.

I've read about this place for years, and after finally going there, I have to say, the hype is justified. It ticks all the right boxes: efficient service and great food. Unique menu with wide range of interesting noodle dishes. Definitely not your run-of-the-mill American Chinese. Also, interesting selection of spicy "skewer" dishes: lamb, chicken, "fish ball," tofu, and potato. The spicy pork dumplings (in a Szechuan type oil sauce) were amazing. Washed it all down with a very refreshing cucumber-pineapple drink, kinda like a mocktail (think Mojito without the alcohol). The menu also features many vegetarian options, for those so inclined. I'm definitely going to be a repeat customer!

Oh my gosh. Last night in DC area we were tired and just wanted to head back to the hotel. It was raining and we walked here. We were expecting Chinese. We were not expecting some of the best Chinese food either of us had ever had. I got a braised pork on some sort of homemade bread as an appetizer. Really tasty. But the two entrees were beyond compare. My travel partner got a cold noodle dish. Truly unique and amazing per them. I got D1b Hot Oil Seared Noodles with knife cut noodles. It was the best Chinese dish I have ever had. Never had anything that tasted like this.

Really enjoyed the meal! Authentic and delicious Shaanxi food. Spicy tofu noodles is a must for vegetarian/vegan. Really tasty drinks too (like hot fruit tea)! Close knit cafe feel in College Park right off Baltimore Avenue.

Freezing out there? Hot and spicy food's the perfect cure! We grabbed a quick lunch – service was super fast. I got the lamb skewers, a spicy shredded beef burger, and a rose lychee drink. The lamb was crispy and spicy on its own, but I added chili oil (they have it on every table!), which was *really* spicy but so good. The lychee drink was the perfect cool-down. My beef burger wasn't too spicy, which made it more enjoyable. My bf liked his tofu and daikon burger, but not the potato one – the potatoes were cold, and the sauce wasn't great, though the chili oil helped. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the CP area –the food is cheap and delicious! I even bought a jar of that chili oil they had on every table

NW has been my favorite lunch spot in College Park for a while. The food is rich in flavor and they have a nice seasonal options. However, they recently implemented some changes that left me deprived of my favorite options. NW in general is not super vegetarian friendly, but I used to manage. Triple tofu noodles were great, and now they are GONE. I used to order a salad with spicy tofu on top. Now it can be added only to noodles. We the people need more vegetarian options!

This was the most authentic, delicious, Chinese food I've had since visiting China back in 2007. It brought back so many memories, I could have cried. I had the black vinegar peanuts, red chili sesame dumplings, and the minced pork noodles. I can't wait to go back. This is food I'll dream about.

Northwest Chinese Food is a reliable spot for hearty, flavorful Chinese dishes. Noodles, dumplings, and stir-fries are all solid, and the portions are generous. The vibe is casual and no-frills, and the staff is friendly—perfect for a satisfying, straightforward meal.

There is no restaurant on this Earth that will ever ascend to the height of delicacy like Northwest Chinese has. Sometimes I wish I'd been born in another age. Earlier and slower; a time when I could have spent entire lifetimes returning to their tables, letting centuries pass as I reveled in those savory flavors. Every time I have the honor of eating here, I feel something well up in me, so deep, so ancient, that I have to blink the tears back before they fall into my bowl. I savor every bite with almost reverent stillness, thinking to myself, "How did I get this lucky? What benevolent force led me to this place?" The moment the dishes arrive, the world hushes. Conversations soften. The clatter of the street dissolves. Even time itself seems to lean in, holding its breath as I lift my chopsticks. Each taste is a universe, each aroma a memory I never lived but somehow remember. Northwest Chinese is not just my favorite restaurant- it is the gold standard by which all food, all joy, all comfort should be measured. Nothing will ever come close. Not in this lifetime, nor in any parallel one. To the hands that craft these dishes: God bless you. You turn humble ingredients into poetry, into something that feels like home even for souls who have wandered far. Thank you for your work, your devotion, your artistry. I love you all, and your astounding work. More than you could ever know. Northwest Chinese, I give you 5 stars.

This was my favorite restaurant in college, my comfort food, my everything. I've moved away and was planning on coming to eat here in January for the first time in 3 years. I am so sad to hear that it is closing due to redevelopment. I only wish nw chinese food will stay, I need to eat here again. I bought a flight home just to eat here one more time. PLEASE STAY OPEN I NEED TO EAT HERE ONE MORE TIME 😭😭😭😭😭🙏🙏. No other restaurant compares.

As someone with Northwest Chinese roots, I can say with confidence that this restaurant is one of the most authentic Chinese restaurants I've ever tried. The tang yuan with seasome seeds tastes like the ones I had for breakfast as a child, and the noodles' texture is impeccable as well as the meat sauce. Definitely the best hotspot in College Park!

NW Chinese is hands down my favorite restaurant in College Park. Their Spicy Beef Noodle Soup is my go-to dish — rich, comforting, and full of bold flavor. I’ve tried it with both the traditional knife-cut noodles and the rice noodles, and in my opinion, the knife-cut noodles are the way to go. The soup arrives piping hot, making it perfect for chilly days. The sandwich appetizers are fantastic — flavorful, crispy, and perfect for sharing. If you’re dining with friends, I highly recommend ordering a few to split! One of the true standouts on the menu is the sesame hot oil dumplings. They are a 10/10 every time — perfectly cooked, generously filled, and drenched in a savory, nutty, and spicy sauce that hits all the right notes. Insider tip: take the leftover sesame sauce from the dumplings and pour it into your Spicy Beef Noodle Soup. Trust me — it takes the flavor to a whole new level. I’ve also tried their hot pasta dishes, and they’re consistently delicious and full of authentic flavor. You can tell the kitchen knows their craft and cares about quality. If you’re sensitive to spice, don’t worry — you can ask for your dishes mild, and they’ll gladly accommodate. My only wish? That they expand or move into a bigger space. It gets busy, and while the service is always kind and attentive, you might have to wait a bit for a table. But honestly, it’s worth the wait. NW Chinese is a gem in College Park and a must-visit if you’re in the area.

Second visit in one year and I can safely say this place is the real deal. It is as authentic as it gets and just incredibly delicious. The place has limited seating space, so expect to wait if you come at peak times. Their Chinese burgers are amazing, the skewers are too. Also, the knife cut noodles and their dumpling pancakes are something we haven't found anywhere else. The service is always friendly and the food comes out very quickly and at the right temperature. Cannot wait to come back and please consider opening a location in Bethesda.

Cute little restaurant near campus. So many menu options to choose from! We ended up getting the spicy cumin chicken mo, lamb soup, sesame sauce rolled noodles, eggplant potato noodles, and hot oil minced pork noodles. Everything was delicious, but for me the standout was the chicken mo. Absolutely delicious! All the dishes were flavorful and unique and tasted like nothing I have ever had before. Good prices too

i didnt come in here with the expectation of liking the food but the dishes we got were so good. we got the hot oil-seared knife cut noodles with spicy tofu and the sesame sauce rolled noodles. when i tell you the spicy tofu was amazing, i mean i was laying prostrate on the floor like i had just seen an angel.

The food at Northwest is so good! I love the chewy noodles. Any dish with chili oil may be a bit spicy. I went for my birthday and they gave me free sesame balls which were so yummy! This is one of the few places that I frequent, with the drive from DC. I enjoy all the flavors and the spices. I got the vegetarian option which I thought was amazing and hearty for being just vegetables and noodles. I look forward to trying all of the menu. D 12, the item, is one of my favorites. The vinegar peanuts and the Dan Dan noodles are phenomenal and you should definitely try them. The plum juice was the new thing for me to try and I highly recommend it. The servers were casual and young so you may have to wave them down but the food experience it’s just amazing and I look forward to continuing to dine often.

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in DMV. We always find time to come here regularly. We love love their cold noodle dish with beef and pickled cabbage. I recently visited Northwest Chinese Food, and wow, I was absolutely blown away! I had the Signature Fruit Tea and Red Oil Sesame Dumplings, and let me tell you — this meal was pure magic. The fruit tea was a refreshing burst of sweetness, balancing the flavors perfectly. But the Red Oil Sesame Dumplings? They were something else! The moment I bit into them, my heart was literally filled and warmed. It was like I had just entered an anime scene, where the food is so good it makes everything feel brighter. These dumplings were that bomb! If you’re looking for food that makes you feel like you’re in a culinary dream, definitely check out this place. Highly recommend!

Easily the best Chinese food in the college park area. The spicy beef noodle soup is absolutely to die for and my new comfort meal. The mo are stupendous (if a bit smaller than I hope they were) and every friend I've ever brought here can't wait to visit me just so we can come back here. Be aware that seating here is a hair's width from communal, its a and can get a bit cramped when busy Definitely worth a stop in and it's cool to see a Chinese restaurant that isn't just the classic hits but, rather, something more authentic in feel, and taste.

This small restaurant specializes in Northwest and Northeast Chinese cuisine. It’s a clean and tidy spot, perfect for office workers looking for an affordable and quick lunch. The menu focuses on noodle dishes, with juicy and flavorful Roujiamo (肉夹馍,Chinese burgers) and a variety of Northwest-style noodles. The toppings on the noodles are delicious, and the lamb skewers, made from sliced lamb grilled to perfection, have a wonderful smoky flavor. One downside is the lack of parking in front of the restaurant. You'll need to park at a paid lot across the street, which costs around $1.5 per hour.

Outstanding food, amazing service. I'm short on time so I'll echo what everyone else has said: NW Chinese Food is a perfect blend of traditional, quality food, and a casual College town environment. They don't sacrifice originality or flavor, for the conventional cookie cutter design of a vast majority of American-Chinese Restaurants. You won't find a lot of places like it, and I personally haven't had any better Chinese food in the State of Maryland.

I ate here for the first (and hopefully not last) time this past weekend. We ordered the Knife cut noodles with lamb, rice noodles with pork, and a spicy chicken mo. We didn't ask for any particular spiciness and everything came out at the perfect heat level. We were saddened to hear that the landlord is trying to kick them out of the building in order to knock it down and redevelop. I hope they stay open even if it means moving. The news had just been announced a couple days prior and they were slammed with takeout orders when they opened but it was more than worth the wait for the food. We were disappointed we hadn't ordered more dishes to try additional menu items!

Pretty good, authentic northern Chinese food. Beware, it’s spicy for most Americans..! The “burgers” are small, pita sized

Hot oil seared noodles are chewy, spicy, just about perfect. Dan dan noodles were a bit underwhelming. Spice was right, noodles were a bit limp. Service was great. Fast. Hot. Easy in and out.

The sour soup dumplings are amazing. So are the hand cut noodles. The burgers are okay. The service is friendly but slow and it takes time for the food to come out. It’s not pricey. Park in the garage behind Cornerstone Bar.

It was ok. The noodle was thick and chewy which was very good but the soup base was just ok. The skewers were not very good but not bad either. I really appreciate them packing the noodle and the soup separately though when I ordered take out.

Authentic Northwest Chinese indeed! Walking in at busy lunch hour, we were properly lined up by a welcoming hostess. Fast service on orders- “Liang Pi” cold skin noodles(pre-mixed chewy texture noodles, featuring heavy dark vinegar dressing w.light chili oil~酸爽),& Cumin lamb skewers(Fried chunky lamb bites, Super juicy w.layers of spice powers) satisfied our taste buds in a hot summer day! City parking garage behind the block is free during summer break.

I been trying to try this place for years finally made it. spicy beef mo: 10 I dont care for cumin but im a believer now. the beef cooked perfectly. the right amount of spice just a nice kick so u can still enjoy the flavors of the onion, pepper and cumin. I ate 3. red oil sesame dumpling 8. a little too spicy for me. I felt the kick in my throat a little too long. but noodle soft and flavorful. Spicy potato noodle soup with beef. my friend gave it a 8.5 very spicy he was sweating but he said it had tender noodles, tender beef that was season well. pan fried rolled noodle. 8.5 noodles well cooked not too spicy for me where i could still taste the blend of the onions and spices.

If you love noodles, you’ll probably want to check this place out. I really liked the atmosphere, and the service was great. That said, I wish they offered more than just noodle dishes. I ordered the beef noodle soup and was disappointed to find only two pieces of broccoli—was hoping for a few more veggies. The place was packed during our visit, so clearly a lot of people enjoy the food. Personally, it wasn’t for me.

The food is mostly noodles and different type of minced meat. They all pack some heat. I prefer my food to be more delicately seasoned so these are not really my favorite. But I can see a lot of folks would love these. The service was great for a low cost eatery.

If you want fragrant, bursting with flavor Chinese food, come here. The Mo burger and the spicy beef noodles were just delicious. The portion is also a lot. I plan to come here again.

The food is mostly noodles and different type of minced meat. They all pack some heat. I prefer my food to be more delicately seasoned so these are not really my favorite. But I can see a lot of folks would love these. The service was great for a low cost eatery.

Limited menu and zero varieties. Spicy n szechuan peppercorns pretty much are the mainstay. Not sure why WP gave this restaurant high marks.
