I had an amazing experience at Twisted Meats in Thousand Oaks! The taste was absolutely incredible — honestly, I’ve never had Mediterranean food this good in LA before. Every bite was flavorful and fresh. The sauces were especially delicious and really elevated the whole meal. You can tell they put effort into quality and taste. If they could reduce the price by $1–2, it would be perfect — but apart from that, everything was excellent. Definitely recommend this place and will be coming back again! 😊
My friends and I came across this restaurant while searching for something that was still open late but wasn’t the usual heavy fast food 😭 Thankfully, we found Twisted Meats! We were so relieved to find a spot that offered food that wasn’t overly greasy or heavy. Everything we ordered was phenomenal. I ordered the lamb and beef wrap and added rice and falafel chunks inside. I love that they give you the option to have your meat and veggies over rice, fries, salad, in a sandwich, or in a wrap. Having those choices really helps depending on how hungry you are. It can get a little pricey if you add a lot of extras like I did, but the generous portions and incredibly tender meat make it completely worth it. I ordered two wraps, and they lasted me two days(half for lunch and the other half for dinner). I definitely recommend coming here if you’re looking for something open late that isn’t McDonald’s 😅 Also, a huge thank you to Miguel for preparing my wrap with so much care. He handled all of my add-ons perfectly and was very personable and kind. He’s a great addition to the staff!
We've been here about 10 times now, and the food is always tasty. We always order the doner sandwich combo and the doner wrap combo, both with beef and lamb. The combo includes fries and a drink. The regular fries are always so crunchy, fresh, and well-seasoned. Their spicy sauce is delicious; it's the kind of spicy that isn't just straight heat—it's flavorful and spicy. Also, if you drink and like sangria, you should try it.
I had an amazing experience at Twisted Meats in Thousand Oaks, and I can honestly say this place is now one of my favorite spots for Mediterranean-style food in the area. I ordered the doner kebab sandwich, and it was absolutely outstanding. The meat was perfectly cooked — tender, juicy, and packed with deep, rich flavor. You can immediately tell the doner is prepared with care and quality ingredients. Every bite had a great balance of seasoning, char, and freshness, without being greasy or heavy. It was flavorful in that authentic, comforting way that keeps you wanting more. The bread was soft and warm, holding everything together beautifully without falling apart. The sauces and toppings were incredibly well balanced — nothing overpowering, just enhancing the flavor of the meat. You could taste how fresh everything was, from the vegetables to the herbs and spices. This wasn’t a fast-food style kebab — this was a crafted, restaurant-quality doner that rivals what you’d get in Europe or the Middle East. Portion size was generous too. I left satisfied but not weighed down, which is always a great sign. It’s the kind of meal that makes you think, “Yeah… I chose the right place today.” The atmosphere at Twisted Meats was clean, relaxed, and welcoming. The staff were friendly and efficient, and you could tell they take pride in what they serve. My order came out quickly and looked just as good as it tasted — fresh, hot, and beautifully put together. If you’re anywhere near Thousand Oaks and craving real, high-quality doner kebab, this place is a must-visit. Whether you’re new to Mediterranean food or already a fan, Twisted Meats delivers on flavor, quality, and consistency. I will absolutely be coming back — and next time I’m already thinking about trying more from the menu. But that doner kebab sandwich? It’s already a winner in my book. Highly recommended!
I’m from Germany, Munich, and I usually eat Döner two to three times a week back home. I was really curious to see if this Döner in Thousand Oaks could compare to the ones in Germany. I was very surprised — it tastes exactly like a really good Döner in Germany! The meat is seasoned just the same, the bread and sauces give you that real feeling of home. This Döner would easily be among the top 5 in Munich, I can 100% recommend it to everyone. The staff is also very friendly and fast. Prices are totally fair.
Twisted Meats is one of those places that instantly earns your loyalty. From the moment you walk in, you can feel that this isn’t just another BBQ spot — it’s a place run by people who actually care about what they’re serving and who they’re serving it to. The meats are insanely good: perfectly smoked, juicy, deeply flavorful, and clearly handled by people who know exactly what they’re doing. Every bite tastes intentional. But what really sets Twisted Meats apart is the people. Lars and Ruben are absolute standouts. Warm, welcoming, genuine — the kind of guys who make you feel like a regular even if it’s your first visit. You can tell they take pride in their craft and in creating a place where customers feel appreciated, not rushed or treated like a number. This is comfort food done right, with soul, skill, and hospitality that’s honestly rare these days. Twisted Meats has become a must stop for me in Thousand Oaks, and I’ll be sending everyone I know their way. If you haven’t been yet, fix that. You’ll leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit. 🔥🥩
Did the Wrap!! Listen when I say it’s fresh… it’s fresh! The seasoned and crisp veggies, the beef/lamb is beyond flavorful, hit it with the spicy and Tzatziki sauce! … PS, if you’re a feta cheese fan add that too! Sweet potatoes with a dash of the Twisted Meat rub brings the spice!! The patio with fresh herbs, spices and tomatoes boxes makes even the kids stop and say, “look mommy a tomato!” Enjoy, you won’t regret it!
Great place with some awesome food. Unique selection of beers and sodas. Middle Eastern and German fusion with flare. The people working here were super polite.
This place is a hidden Gem. Owned by two friends from Germany. The staff is u er friendly, service is great. Food is delicious and plentiful. The sandwich bread is very unique and flavourful. A must go. Best part is they offer halal meat.
My kids and I enjoy coming here fairly often because we consider it, “ food that’s fast but not fast food”. Our favorite things to get are the beef/lamb doner wrap, the salad, and the kids meal. The meat is very tasty and flavorful and the wrap is made from flour imported from Germany. It’s very thin so it holds the sandwich together, but not bulky. The baklava comes in just the right size 3 small pieces to an order that’s perfect for our family of 3. On top of the great food, the service is good. People are friendly and to top it all off they have fun music playing in the background. Oh and lastly, they are open pretty late at night like midnight as well so there have been times when i’m having a late night and want to eat something healthy. This is my go to place.

Looking for something better than the typical fast-food joint? This is the spot. As an L.A. transplant, I was excited to finally see something different in Ventura County. Their food is on point and staff is very friendly. I come here for the lamb and beef wrap and always leave satisfied. They have German beers on tap too!
A totally amazing find! Cannot recommend enough. Their meats are very high quality, do not miss out on the Lavash bread. They even have cute water bowls for the pups (says my fiance).
One of the best places to eat in the county full stop. If you like good food check it out. They import their flour from Germany and you can tell. Get the Donner Sandwich, add some of their chilli pepper seasoning if you likes little spice, and order one of there German beers and woooey!!
This was my first time visiting Twisted Meats, and it was a great experience from start to finish. I decided to try their wraps, and it was really good fresh, flavorful, and very satisfying. You can tell they put care into the food, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. I also want to give a big shoutout to Miguel for the excellent customer service. He was very nice, friendly, and made me feel welcome right away. He took the time to make sure everything was good and that I was enjoying my meal, which really made a difference. Overall, the food and service were both amazing. I’m very glad I stopped by, and I’ll definitely be coming back again soon. Highly recommend Twisted Meats to anyone looking for great food and great service!
Really interesting place and the food was very good. Very friendly service too. And a nice place to have a lunch or an informal dinner. I describe it as Turkish German fusion. I think that's a good description that they would agree with. Definitely give it a try.

This is one of the best Mediterranean restaurants. EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS. They have delicious beef, chicken, and lamb selections and the bread is also to die for. When I'm not eating meat the falafel is some of the best I've had. I'm working here out of town and eat here 3 dinners a week
Twisted Meats is the best fast fresh option you can find in Ventura County. Delicious food and filling portions of healthy German street food made with fresh ingredients. The service is impeccable too. I highly recommend you stop in for a beef lamb wrap. So good.
A great place for an impromptu dining with friends. Good healthy food & reasonable pricing. Maren, the owner, she's awesome. Very friendly staff.
I had a kebab sandwich and it was delicious. I had the lamb with garlic sauce and tzatziki and all the vegetables. I had a beer which I thought was a little pricey. My family of four cost about 110. Food is good. Worth a visit.
I first tried the food from Twisted Meats at a birthday party and really enjoyed it. So when we were passing by we decided to give it another try and we really liked it. The staff was really friendly and attentive. The place was clean and parking was easy. The dressing were very nice.

Tried it because they have high reviews. The food was average. We ordered one Doner Fries Box and one kid’s option (with falafel). My husband said they were okay, not too bad. My opinion: the meat was dry and too bland. They have a generous of sauce but it was still too bland.

Never buy anything here! I bought a doner sandwich, and the meat was so stale that I couldn’t even finish it. I got food poisoning from it — I was vomiting half the evening yesterday. This morning, yellow discoloration appeared under my eyes, and so on. I definitely do not recommend it. If you don’t want to end up in the hospital, don’t order anything here

9/5/25 I would warn anyone to not waste their time or money here because management here is not the best has a very condescending haha attitude when you're complaining when you're upset and they tell you there is no mint in something twice. Then after I insisted that it just tastes only of mint then did the manager decide that they were going to go double-check the recipe and go oh there is mint in it while I'm on speaker and other people can hear the conversation of her telling me she did not say that and corrected themselves saying well I went to double-check after they told me something was not an ingredient twice. To turn around and tell me that I was being rude and argumentative after I did not become rude and argumentative until she told me no there's no mint in the tzatziki sauce twice and then turned around goes well do you want to come get more sauce. I informed her my food is ruined because there's a mint all over it and she's like well you don't want to come again you sauce I said okay well I asked you what does having a new sauce going to change that my food is ruined. Instead of just offering me a replacement let me fix it I had to go well what are you going to do for me well you didn't ask me that if I ask you how is a new sauce going to change my ruined food don't you think that's a chance to be like hey my bad let us fix that for you. I didn't like that my food as plated instead of Togo. Then when the mistake was noticed, It was just dumped into the container. When you pay $22+ with tax for food. As a visual eater That really made it so I don't want it. And to put my sauce containers in my food box when they were put in the bag last time has grossed me out more. Original review WHAT WERE YOU WAITING FOR? That's I'm saying to myself! I finally stopped in and this will be a regular spot. The atmosphere A++ Music A+++ The Food is beyond Amazing! Rice beautifully seasoned, gyro meat tender and seasoned to perfect! The sauces are delectable! You need to eat here immediately!!
I was really excited to try this spot after seeing its solid 4.7/5 rating online. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype for me. The food was just okay—nothing special in terms of flavor or quality. It didn’t feel authentic at all; it tasted more like Mexican-influenced or “Mexicanized” Mediterranean food rather than the real deal. The place itself wasn’t clean, which was a big turn-off, and the staff came across as pretty rude and unwelcoming. The one bright spot was the bread they use for the sandwiches—it was fresh, soft, and actually really good. That’s about the only thing I’d recommend. Overall, I for sure won’t be back. If you’re looking for genuine Mediterranean flavors, I’d check out some of the other highly rated options in the area instead.
