Food was fantastic. I was surprisedthe place wasn't busier. The brisket taquitos were excellent. The rice was amazing as well, I hope I can get my rice to taste that good.
Have a weekly appt that takes me down to Dallas and I found this close to hotel. Wasn't needing or expecting much but received some fantastic Mexican food. Food came out fast and hot and everything we ordered tasted great. Was midday and there was hardly anyone there so if your looking for Mexican food and in this area dont hesitate, it's good.
We do not live in the area, and someone recommended we try Gabriela & Sofia's. We are glad we did! The staff worked together like an excellent team. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic! It was easy to tell they care about great food and attentive service!
Looking for Tex-Mex comfort food that delivers on flavor and freshness? Gabriela & Sofia’s Tex-Mex is a must-visit. Their guacamole, queso, and quesadillas are standout dishes that showcase the heart of their kitchen. The guacamole, made fresh to order, balances creamy avocado, tangy lime, cilantro, and a hint of spice—perfect with their warm, salted tortilla chips. The queso is rich, velvety, and unforgettable, especially when topped with taco meat or pico de gallo. Their quesadillas, with golden, crispy tortillas and gooey cheese, offer a choice of flavorful fillings like grilled chicken or tender beef, paired with tangy salsa or sour cream. Gabriela & Sofia’s delivers a welcoming dining experience with dishes crafted from simple, high-quality ingredients. A true Tex-Mex treasure!
I visited Gabriela and Sofia’s Tex-Mex for the first time, and it was an amazing experience! For our entrees, we ordered the Flauta Dinner and Beef Fajita Quesadillas—both were absolutely delicious! The meal started off with complimentary chips served with the freshest red salsa (with a nice spicy kick) and a flavorful black bean dip. Everything we tried was excellent, and the portions were huge! We ended up taking most of our food home to enjoy later. Our server, Pedro, was friendly and super helpful, making the entire dining experience even better. Overall, a great spot for Tex-Mex, and I can’t wait to come back 😊
Last Wednesday, my brother, my close friend, and I visited this restaurant. The food was delightful, especially the tacos meal and Mexican soft drink. The mutton dish was exceptionally tasty. Gabriela & Sofia's Tex-Mex in Dallas is a popular spot known for its delicious Tex-Mex cuisine. The restaurant offers a variety of flavorful dishes that blend traditional Texan and Mexican flavors. From sizzling fajitas to cheesy enchiladas, Gabriela & Sofia's is a go-to place for a satisfying Tex-Mex meal. The vibrant atmosphere and friendly service make dining there a memorable experience. If you're in Dallas and craving some Tex-Mex goodness, Gabriela & Sofia's is definitely worth a visit!
First time here. We ordered the table side guacamole which was amazing! The chips come with the freshest red salsa and black bean dip. For our entrees, we ordered beef and shrimp fajitas and flautas with tortilla soup. Everything was excellent! We ate so many chips, salsa, bean dip, and guacamole that we were pretty full by the time our entrees appeared. Large portions of food were given. We ended up taking home most of our food to eat later. Great experience! Our server, Guadalupe was very friendly and helpful.
This was our first visit to this location and we will be back! We were seated and served promptly! I enjoy the Lupe dinner with tortilla soup and a brisket taco and DH had the chef’s dinner with included a pork tamale, brisket taco and a brisket enchilada with rice and pico! The lime mojito was so good but I could only have one!!
Went on a Friday evening at 7pm and was seated right away. Atmosphere is nice and clean. The food was excellent, enjoyed everything but must tries are the tableside guac and homemade flan. My waiter Geraldo was absolutely above and beyond...very attentive, pleasant and fun! I randomly found it on google and decided to just try them but it was totally worth it!! Food was great!! Will definately go back again.
I could see myself being a regular here when I am older. The food is delicious and good prices; doesn't seem like a date night restaurant for the younger crowd. The sour cream and mole sauce are amazing! The Danny's dinner says it's chicken and spinach enchiladas but they are chicken enchiladas with spinach on top, delicious none the less. Attentive service and ample parking spots.
My new favorite lunch spot! Every single thing I've eaten here has been delicious. Their ingredients are fresh, service is on point, and I enjoy the quiet and quaint atmosphere. Brisket enchiladas, bean soup, margaritas.... all very tasty!!! Wish they had a location near the Allen/McKinney area (hint hint)
Love the bean dip and brisket queso -- both were flavorful and satisfying appetizers. The server was friendly and accommodating, and made sure our special requests (eg, corn tortillas for quesadillas, veggie sides to replace beans and rice, frequent drink refills) were taken care of. The food was yummy, but a little overpriced.
Staying at the Hilton across the road, I was going to stay in and just get hotel food but then I seen this across the street and decided to go and get some take away and I'm glad I did everything was perfect. I got the brisket tacos, The meat is cooked perfectly, whatever sauce they give you is amazing, The beans cooked perfectly, The avocado salad was great and the chips and salsa were good the salsa is very spicy. But very good. I would definitely come here again
⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5) First time trying this place and… yikes.😳 Service: ✅ Solid Presentation: ✅ Looks great Quality: ❌ Big miss Price: ❌❌ Painful Let’s talk about the $33 ribeye fajitas. How do you take a good cut of steak and make it taste like absolutely nothing? LITERALLY tasted like there’s NO seasoning on the steak, no seasoning on the veggies, just vibes and a hot plate. For that price, bland is unacceptable. Very disappointed and definitely not worth it. Not even adding salt helped me. And I’m not exaggerating and I try to be respectful and considerate but this was beyond terrible for $33 — sure did look pretty though. The mole? Way too sweet for us—especially for the kids. Mole is one of those love-it-or-hate-it things, and if you love it, you either like it sweet or traditional. We’re firmly not team sweet mole. Now the price… whew. $167 for 5 people, and that’s before tip. Insane. The name says Tex-Mex, and trust me—they lean hard into that. Heavy on the Tex, light on the flavor. Will I be back? For the food—probably not. For the drinks—maybe. 🍹
Do you love a good Tex-Mex spot with mouthwatering fresh guacamole? If you do, you should check out Gabriela & Sofia’s Tex-Mex. First of all, the family vibe is really cool in the restaurant. I had an attentive server that knew the menu. I started with the freshly made tableside guacamole. Hands down it was some of the BEST that I’ve ever had. I’m talking from Uncle Julio’s, MiCocina etc. IT WAS full of flavor and just right! I moved on to the Camarones Al Mojo for my entree. The shrimp were big. I appreciated that in this economy. 🥴The fish didn’t blow me away, but I did enjoy it. I washed everything down with one of the CREAMIEST, smoothest frozen Pina Colada’s that I have ever had! I didn’t even drink them prior. It was so good, that I had two. 😉The portion sizes were good, and the pricing was affordable. I can’t wait to go back and see what else they have to offer.
……. READ THIS REVIEW …… Very reasonable prices!!! That makes up for a few shortcomings - and the staff is awesome… even by my standards. While my review is always direct, I like this place. Great energy. But undecided as to coming back. Hummm. Chips = 6/10 On the thicker side as restaurant chips go, but I did ok with them. (I would not buy them in a store.) Salsa = 8/10 Well made, tasty and a gentle warming on the back end. Nice flavor but did not “wow me”. Black Bean Dip = 3/10 Shocker… it’s puréed as expected but was cold?!? I asked if was supposed to be cold. Evidently it was an error - and they immediately brought me a hot replacement - double portion!! AWESOME! That’s the absolutely perfect way to fix a mistake - and a new 1st for me. (They earned many respect points from me on that move!) Well hummm, it’s extremely bland. Nothing but bean flavor. Needs salt and some seasoning to make it wake up. But it’s free so I can’t complain… just sad. I had higher hopes when I saw it… and I’ve had much better. Frozen Strawberry Margarita = 6/10 - First impressions.. a bit on the small side. The flavor is enjoyable, but it’s not handmade syrup. Very silky, creamy and light texture. I prefer a more dense texture (more icy). It’s fresh and not melted… but the texture is as if you were drinking the last 1/4 of your margarita. Undecided on this point. Sour Cream Chicken Enchilada = - Moist chicken which is the #1 thing I grade on. Yes, it’s moist! However, not a strong seasoning profile, more in the hard to find flavors side. I like the sour cream sauce. Not over powering and has the correct texture. 7/10 Beef Enchilada with Chili Con Carne Sauce = 3/10 - Ok, but a again definitely on the bland side. The sauce is just that - only a sauce… no meat included. Not all memorable. Table Side Handmade Guacamole 8.5/10 - Be sure to tell them you want it made “at the table”, otherwise they make it in back. Very good. Extremely creamy with small chunks of avocado (I don’t like big chunks - too much). I skipped the jalapeños, and it’s definitely a repeat item for me. Beautiful flavor and enjoyable. Service = 10/10 Excellent in every way. 2-3 other waiters always check on me as they pass by. Obviously, the customer comes first here!!! Very attentive and fast service at 7:30pm. Environment = 7/10 Welcoming as you enter and hosted is quick to acknowledge you. Very nice original art on the wall - not stereotypical, enjoyable to look at. (Good move!) Lots of open space allowing you to have privacy but it’s still has good energy with all the customer buzz. Over All: 3/5 Although this review is a bit direct (that’s my style) I was happy I came by. The people here are so good hearted and you can tell they will move mountains to ensure you are happy!! That was a highlight for me. As for the food, maybe I ordered the wrong stuff… but everything was about 30% seasoned to what I expect Tex-Mex to be. Unfortunately, bland in general. Hard to get much flavor, too gentle and mild. But please note - I do not like “heat or overpowering seasoning to the point you can’t identify what you are eating!” I do require more than a minimal seasoning approach. That’s because I’m an old and native Texan from Big D.
My family ordered a Sophia’s platter, the mamas dinner, and a beef fajita chimichanga. We figured because of the prices the food would be high quality but we were sorely mistaken. First of all my dad immediately sent back his Fajita Chimi because the meat was NOT cooked enough. Mind you he’s a redneck, he likes a bloody steak, but this “fajita” meat was practically raw, chewy and inedible. He was so grossed out he didn’t even order a different item, he just opted not to eat. My mamas dinner enchiladas were okay. I ate them all, the touch of spinach in the sour cream sauce was nice but overall the chicken inside was dry and had very little flavor. Edible but nothing to write home about. My mom’s “Sophia” platter had a good variety of everything the menu offers yet the only thing we can compliment is the flautas and green sauce. Again, just nothing amazing, especially for the price. Now, bad food isn’t the end of the world. We’ve often given places a second chance, but what sealed the deal on us NEVER coming back was the absolute lack of service. We saw our waiter a total of 4 times. To take our order, drop our food, take back the raw meat, and bring us our check. We never got a drink refill, he never checked to see if we needed anything, and overall treated us more like a burden than a customer. There was around 5 other tables sat and at least two other servers I saw, there was no reason he was an inattentive as he was. Don’t waste your money here.
I went through natter saving another persons life in front of the restaurant and stayed with here until the ambulance came and took her away so I needed a drink and some food to h op calm myself down. Restaurant was completely empty and so I went to bar asked for drink no was y given any chips or anything even when they threw a menu at me and then asked me 10 minutes later if I was ready to order. Still no chips. When you see an empty restaurant on a Saturday night just kno urs because SERVICE IS HORRIBLE
Food was very tasty! The only reason I gave it a 2 Star is because what did I actually eat?? the fajita is not a typical fajita you will see in my pictures below. Other than that the taste profiles were delicious and even though it wasn’t the standard fajita it was still very tasty. Shrimp enchilada 9/10 best shrimp enchiladas I have ever had. Filled with shrimp and the sauce is slightly spicy and so delicious Combo Fajitas 5/10 I think they should let customers know what to expect the flavor was delicious but the plating seemed poorly done maybe use a smaller plate for the rice and the guacamole I would have felt it wasn’t so empty. No block cheese or any Beans no sour cream it was disappointing. Like how did this dish make it out of the kitchen like this?? No hot sizzling dish nothing The flavor was a spicy sauce and it was really good it did have a random potatoe on the dish have never seen that before but it was still delicious. I just wonder what did they actually serve me?
