I had an amazing experience at this Indian restaurant with my family. The food was absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavours, and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The staff were very friendly and provided excellent service, which made our visit even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a perfect place for a family meal. Very beautiful place. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys great Indian food, and we will definitely be coming back again! 😊🍛
One of my favourite restaurants! So many vegan options on the menu. I always order the vegan Chick’n Butter Masala which I would really recommend. My partner has had a different dish each time we have visited and enjoyed them all, you can’t go wrong! Good size portions and we always leave feeling full. Beautiful building and amazing service!
Second time visiting Namaste. The place is entirely vegetarian so don't be misled by the "chicken" and "prawn" on the menu. They're plant based alternatives. The chicken is really nice and the prawns are king prawn shaped and have the same texture although they don't have a lot of taste. That doesn't matter though 'cos all the flavours come from the curry they're in which is great. If you like a bit of spice, choose a dish that's one down from the "Indian hot" (I haven't been brave enough to go for one of those yet 😁). The milder dishes were just too mild for me. The menu clearly states any allergens and the servers ask about any specific dietary requirements. Decent portions, very friendly staff. No parking on site but there's the Queen's road pay and display car park directly opposite. I didn't see a wheelchair accessible entrance, there are a couple of steps into the building. Will definitely go again. They also do takeaway.
Tried the Indian breakfast with the family, one word from everyone “Amazing”. Norwich needed something like this, pure vegetarian, superb flavours, really good portion size, excellent customer service are not words to be used lightly, but this breakfast had them all in abundance. All members who ate said it was simply fantastic. I would highly encourage people to try their breakfast offering, so much choice and it really brings an indian twist to the most important meal of the day. Very well done Team Namaste, we will be back to taste the items we could not fit in today and the Hinglish is calling my name ;-) Jai Hind Team Namaste
We had an excellent time. The staff couldn’t be nicer and more friendly. We were served by a new waitress in training and she was very sweet. We also had great chats with another waitress (sorry I should have asked your name) , she was brilliant. The food was exceptional of course. This place is special!
We ate at Namaste village again yesterday and had their Sunday Lunch Buffet. Food was of outstanding quality yet again! Service and Staff were fantastic and the atmosphere is super chilled and makes a real change from day to day life. The 3 Curries on offer were incredible and so flavoursome, and the value for money is second to none! We didn't miss the meat at all (despite both of us normally being meat eaters) and we both commented it actually made a nice change to not feel too full and heavy after eating such a big meal. Namaste, we will certainly be back again!
My favourite restaurant of all time, hands down, and very reasonably priced. The staff are so friendly and helpful, with extensive knowledge of everything served and always give good recommendations. The food is excellent, incredible flavours, and entirely vegetarian too! There are lots of options for gluten free diets or other allergies and everything is clearly labelled on the menu. The interior is beautiful and cosy and every customer is treated like a VIP guest. Recommend to book if going for dinner as is often very busy.
We decided on a last minute meal out on Saturday night, only booking the table for 20.00 forty minutes in advance, and I'm glad we did as the food and service was fantastic. Papadums with what was clearly home made pickles and Mirchi Pakoda (chilli fritters) were a great start to the night. For mains we went for Mushroom Kadai with rice, Masala dosa, with a sambar and coconut chutney and two nan breads. We both opted for non alcoholic drinks, including Blood Orange and Ginger soda (bloody marvellous!) and a cucumber and mint mocktail. As a fan of chai I decided to finish with a vegan masala chai that was to die for. The best thing about Namaste is not having to ask 'is this dish vegan' or 'do you have vegan/vegetarian options'. The staff were so friendly and we even had a free bonus side dish to try between courses. Our meal worked out roughly £35 per person but it was worth every penny and we'll be back soon and won't leave it as long between visits. Thank you Craig and Becky x
Visited Namaste Village today and absolutely loved it! We started with khaman dhokla and samosa chaat, which were amazing. I had the Surti matka undhiyu, my husband ordered paneer angara with garlic naan, and we finished with beetroot halwa — everything was incredibly authentic and delicious. The staff were very friendly and polite, and the beautiful decor truly made me feel like I was back in India. Highly recommend!
I recently discovered this place on Deliveroo. It appears to be entirely vegetarian, which suits me cuz I mostly like vegetable curries. I've twice had the lentil salad and it's fantastic. far too good to have just one portion. Very hearty, filling and delicious. second time I also ordered Bombay potato which was very nice too their food is far less oily and mushy and is made with better ingredients, as far as I can tell I'm not much into dining out, but I might make an exception and visit their table service restaurant
Had a really great experience at this restaurant. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff was polite and attentive, and the service was quick without feeling rushed. The ambience was clean, cozy, and perfect for a relaxed meal. Definitely a place I’d love to visit again and recommend to others.
We had a wonderful experience at Namaste Village. The North Indian food was delicious and authentic, with beautifully balanced flavors. The customer service was excellent, especially from Hetvi, who was friendly, attentive, and made our visit truly memorable. The ambiance is lovely warm, inviting, and well suited for everyone. Whether you’re visiting with family, friends, couples, or larger groups, it’s a great choice for any occasion. Highly recommended! 🙌
After the third time of eating here and saying ive really got to leave them a review, im finally getting around to it. We found this restaurant really lovely. The decor is beautifully done, with music to add to the atmosphere, but it isnt intrusively loud or anything. The waiters and waitresses are lovely and make sure everything is ok but not in an overbearing way. Then there's the food, which is just absolutely phenomenal. From dosas to jalfrezies and everything in between that we've tried has been bursting with flavour and wonderfully presented. Will definitely keep coming back. Thank you to everyone of the team who make it a lovely dining experience.
It was our 1st time having a vegetarian Indian, as meat eaters. The sauces were lovely and interesting. Specialty cocktails were difficult to choose from, everything sounded great! Fake lamb still isn't lamb but the texture was ok and the sauce made up for any lack of meaty flavor. We will be back, just moved into town, and appreciated the relaxing and pretty decor. We understand why it gets great reviews!😀
The best curry in Norwich, amazing flavours, big portions and great service. Love the free tasters they give out when you order delivery, you can tell these guys are really passionate about their food and the quality of it. 💖
Great place and ambiance. I would highly recommend for people who love India food to try this place. The team was very welcoming and Kind. Hetvi was amazing and guided me with the options on menu and recommended me chef’s special. Amazing experience!
Long-time takeaway-er, first-time diner-in...er (that works, right?) This was by far, one of the best meals my partner and I have had in Norwich. The food has always been amazing when we've ordered for delivery - it's mainly through apparent laziness that we haven't made our way to the restaurant - what fools we are?! The food was fantastic. We ordered all vegan (as we do when we order online) but aside from the deliciousness, the service was next-level. Friendly, attentive and full of suggestions of their favourite dishes - it was genuinely perfect. Whether you are vegan, vegetarian or a meat eater, you'll find it hard to be disappointed by quality of food, service and friendly atmosphere. Will we dine in again? Yes. Will we order in so we can enjoy a curry in our pants? Yes, most definitely. 10/10, will eat again.
Lovely lunchtime meal, great flavours and excellent vegan selection. Friendly service, with knowledgeable staff who are happy to explain the menu and offer suggestions. The decor is bright and colourful without being overwhelming, and there’s a genuine sense of hospitality throughout the experience.
Came here for my 10 year anniversary, after coming once many years ago. Lovely atmosphere with the pretty overhanging lights. The staff were very attentive and welcoming. The food was amazing and I left feeling super full. Will definitely be coming back.
You have got to come to the Namaste Village for breakfast. They have just started this service and your taste buds will love you for it. Such an amazing venue and kind service. Thank you.
Delicious veggie Indian food, with friendly service and unique ambiance (we were told all furniture came directly from India when they refurbished it!). All menu is vegetarian, with vegan and gluten-free options (many items can be made so too), as well as a spicy level sign. Not cheap, but definitely worth the price! We'll be coming back soon!
Great food as usually and very swift service. A little disappointed though as my favourite dish (black beans daal) is no longer vegan though
the food was mind blowing. Hard to read the mene as they are in plastic sheets and low light but my pot luck worked well.
Just took our mum for their lovely afternoon tea! 😋Nice variety, delicious tea options (go for the Marsala chai!) and friendly staff as always. Highly recommend - I hope they keep the afternoon tea as a regular event!
We had a great time at Namaste. Very clear menu, with lots of nut free, gluten free and vegan options. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful too. We had a selection of dishes and all were very well done, plus it was a bonus to have a vegan naan! Would recommend.
We had a wonderful meal, lots of helpful service from our waiter Jatin he was so attentive and polite. Very good and speedy service and recommendations for pairing dishes to share. I will definitely recommend Namaste Village to friends and family and will come again!
Our favourite restaurant in Norwich - we've never had a bad experience. Despite only coming maybe once every 6 months or so, the staff remember us and are so friendly. The food is incredible, we particularly love the "love to share" appetiser. We will be back soon I'm sure 😊
Remains my absolute favourite place in all of Norwich! Brought my friend for his birthday, introduced him to the mogo chips & Gobi Manchurian and seeing his face light up as he bit into it for the first time was a joy to behold! Thanks to Hetvi for such warm and welcoming service as well, we were very well looked after!
Visited Namaste Village Norwich today and was truly delightful — not just with the food but also the amazing decoration! The hanging lanterns, fairy lights, and festive decor create such a warm and magical atmosphere. The place feels vibrant yet peaceful, perfect for enjoying authentic Indian vegetarian food. The staff were friendly and attentive specially Jatin bhai and Yagnik bhai and every dish was full of flavour. Definitely one of the most beautifully decorated restaurants in Norwich — can’t wait to visit again!
I can’t recommend Namaste enough! The food is incredible and the staff are always so friendly. Nahima was so lovely today - thank you! :) Genuinely one of the best restaurants in Norwich - super unrated and have never had a bad meal or experience in this place. The meat substitutes are some of the best my partner and I have ever had! A must visit for vegans and vegetarians.
Absolutely beautiful food and such a relaxing atmosphere with wonderful and attentive staff. We had a large selection of starters, curries, dosa and rice. Followed by a delicious, light dessert. Well worth a visit and will definitely be going back again!!
Second time visited Namaste Village , good food . Rates are on higher end could be more economical for students May be you could start dhabba service like Manchester city has for Indian students .
Popped in for lunch, we were the only people in, but its midweek in January so not massively unexpected. The food was great! Really really tasty, hot, fragrant and fresh, if I'm honest, I felt it was a touch on the pricey side, but I understand the rising food and utilities costs are starting to trickle down to the customer now, they're definitely not over priced, but it's not a cheap lunch. We had a curry, a rice, a selection of breads and a Dosa, the Dosa wasn't very hot, temperature wise, not sure if this is how it's meant to be served or not. My only gripe about the meal is that they add a 12.5% service charge on to the bill, I feel this is a bit of a liberty, especially when it's a party of 2 and we were the only guests, I was happy to tip as the service was fine, but to automatically add it to a bill leaves a bit of a sour taste.
Very nice place Looks like you are in a Indian restaurant Good food Maybe prices too high
Came here New Years Eve, it was very busy, but our table was ready on time. There table location left a little to be desired, as it was stuck away, around a corner, in a shabby little room off of the main restaurant. Everything on the menu is either vegan or vegetarian. That isn't an issue as all of the food is really flavoursome, with a spiciness guide. I think the only problem is that., as with all Indian restaurants/takeaways , that hey are quite expensive.
Great way to spend a morning. Really interesting learning about the spices and watching the dishes be cooked. Only negative is we thought we would have a go at cooking but you watch the chef cook and then taste it. Otherwise it was excellent. Plus you get to eat the meal at the end.
We came here for a Valentine’s dinner this year which me and my girlfriend were very excited for, as we’ve eaten here before and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were really looking forward to it and expected a nice, special meal. However, the experience we had this time was really disappointing. First of all, we were only allowed one poppadom each unless we paid extra, which felt a bit stingy. Both of the hot starters seemed tiny. Three siracha chicken balls which were around the size of KFC popcorn chicken nugget just didn’t seem worth it for what we were paying. It also felt like everything we ate had beetroot in it, which got a bit repetitive. When our main curries came out they were quite hot, so we asked for some water. What we were given was not cold or refreshing, just slightly warm, which didn't really do the job. Not to mention the desserts were absolutely tiny. My girlfriend’s crumble looked like it had been chewed up and spat out onto the plate and my red velvet mousse looked like something you could get in a 4 pack worth £1 in B&M, see first picture for reference. For a Valentine’s set menu this level of quality and portion size is not acceptable. A mcdonalds mcflurry would have done a better job than this dessert did for a fraction of the cost. The photo on the booking looked much better, and the portion sizes seemed at least double what we were actually served. We ended up paying £105 in total, and the added service charge felt a bit cheeky considering the service and food wouldn't have even been worth just the £38 pp on its own. We could have got the same amount of food from our local Indian for £50 max and probably had a better experience. Really disappointing, especially for what was meant to be a special occasion. Would not recommend.
We had lunch and really enjoyed it apart from mango lassi, asked the staff to check as it was tasting bitter, he said he will go inside and check with the chef and he never got back. This thing happened with the curry as well as I ordered paneer curry and the curry I was served paneer was nowhere to be seen. I genuinely wish they have had given us good experience so we would have thought to go back but never mind. If you are reading this review I wish you will improve on customer service.
What a terrible dinner. Truly shambolic from start to finish. Let's start with the arrival, the tables are filthy, sticky and disgusting. Doesn't look like hygiene is top of their agenda. Then let's get down to the service. Shocking. Despite mentioning we didn't want any salad as a side of the paneer tikka, we got it served to our table. The waiter did take a note of it, another person served it up. When mentioned to the new person, they said yes they knew as they saw it on the ticket but despite this decided that it was wise to bring it along... Seriously - read your own colleagues notes ! The food was tasteless, drenched in oil and disappointing . There was nothing that hit the mark. Truly abysmal! There was nothing noteworthy and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It's been a few years since I've been here and yes they have redecorated the venue but beyond that if it is good food you're after , don't bother....! Such a shame !
I don't understand how this place is so highly rated. The food was very mediocre. Certainly there are far better Indian restaurants in Norwich. The naans were chewy and bland. The papadams we're thick and oily The chutneys were so bland, I swear that one was just a lime pickle you can buy in a jar. The main curries we tried were mostly just gloopy and flavourless. I've eaten at many Indian restaurants and this was perhaps the worst I've ever been to. They also apply an automatic 12.5% tip that, if you don't want to pay, you have to ask to have removed. A pushy practice I don't like. If you're in Norwich and want an Indian, go to Dabah on Magdalen Street and try some real Indian food. Or even a cheap takeaway, it would still be better.
