Ike's may have the best sandwiches in the whole bay area. I would most definitely give them the best sandwiches in downtown Oakland. The pricing is very reasonable. I think I may have been there twice in one week. I loved it, my friends loved it as well. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes a good meal. I liked the fun names they have for their subs. Got a "Barry Z" last time I went, that's short for a Turkey and Avocado. It's a good idea to call ahead, because they l they're pretty popular. Gets busy really fast in there and there's no where to sit. Everything is to go. Check this place out or you'll be missing out. Enjoy.

Yes, this is the best sandwich spot in the Bay Area, dare I say in California, dare I say in the U.S. I love Ike's and I love this location. I always bring my dog and tie him up outside. Love the friendly service, the music playing, the freshness of the ingredients. My top faves are on the amazing dutch crunch: The Bakesale -American cheese, chicken fried chicken, choice of sauce (red pesto is great) Pizzle -Bacon, Cheddar, Halal Chicken (Substitute for fried chicken), Ranch Menage A Trois-BBQ, Cheddar, Halal Chicken (substitute for fried chicken), Honey Mustard, Pepper Jack, Real Honey, Swiss Yes, anything with fried chicken! ha Don't forget the in store menus only show a limited amount of sandwiches. Look online for those hidden gem sandwiches. These sandwiches are huge, I can only finish half, so it ends up being a great second lunch. Make sure you get some Zappos chips, the Voodoo ones are my fav, salty and sweet. Oh yes, and a free caramel apple with your sandwich.

Love Ikes. Their vegetarian sandwiches are the bomb-- so many options and so many flavors. Just visited for Ikes birthday and got a free drink & chips on the house. Thanks Ike! Favorite sandwich: handsome owl with pickles.

the cashier was awesome and we all loved our sandwiches. the vegan handsome owl, dirty reuben and the paul reuben. 2nd visit: it seems some of the workers dont really know what vegan means. so if youre vegan you have to double check everything. they were nice though. i also wasnt a big fan of the dutch crunch sandwich bread.

We got the Paul Reuben on sourdough with the works. OH MY LANTA that sandwich was to die for. You know how sometimes you eat a sandwich and the first couple bites are good but then you're over it? They have some many good sandwiches it amazing. I love the Marshawn Lynch, Al Davis and Matt Cain. The are busy at lunch but it usually only a 10 minute wait. Don’t forget to add onions, pickles, peppers or jalapeños free.

After a few mins an employee noticed someone else waiting and checks up on them, then me. My order was ready but no one let me know while I was waiting in the almost empty place. I’m not the type to nag so I guess it’s on me. Real issue though - the sandwich. Chicken was a minimum, sauce was helllla sweet and way too large of a serving. Dutch crunch bread was gummy and thick. Can’t believe I’m sayin it but a Subway sandwich would’ve been more satisfying in the moment. 100% :/

Their sandwiches are kinda okay ... But unimpressive. They had so many choices, maybe I've been making the wrong ones there. They sell a lot of sandwiches so at least the ingredients are usually fresh. The best part for me is the free lollipop they give with your orders. Caramel apple is probably my favorite sucker.

I asked if they do half sandwiches and, no, so I ordered two. The photo shows one half of each sandwich I got, BTW supposedly the same sandwich. I ordered 5 sandwiches online - 3 BLT's and 2 others. The 2 other sandwiches were ok, however my BLT was terrible. The sandwich was very dry. I omitted the avocado and requested mayo. The bacon was like crumbled bacon bites. I expected thick strips of bacon. I asked for mayo, no mayo. There was a small slice of provolone cheese when I asked for extra cheese. Every bite consisted of the "bacon bites" falling out of the sandwich. I didn't care for the shredded lettuce. Most BLT's has leaf lettuce and for the life of me, I don't recall tasting any tomato.

I received the sandwich I ordered in 45 minutes. Even though I talked four times in the middle, I never cared about it even though I was busy. I just waited for you. So I thought it was delicious. And then he threw it away. I won't go again.

Today I called 30 minutes before coding it took 10 minutes for someone to answer by time I got to so done they said there closing even when I explained they ignored my call for 10 minutes to order. The lady hung up on me when trying to explain
