Hiro 88 West Maple

This has become our favorite restaurant for sushi in Omaha, food is delicious, price is reasonable, and service is excellent, happy hour and reverse happy hour menu are fantastic. We have come here several times already and has become pretty much a mandatory stop for us on weekends, we haven't tried anything else besides makis and appetizers but so far everything has been delicious. Quite recommended if you are around and want to eat a great maki roll. P.D. Gyoza and crab rangoon are amazing as well.

Always spot on with sushi, high quality Asian food, sake and other great drinks. Reverse Happy Hour on the weekend is, by far, the best sushi deal in the area. This location was recently renovated, even though it was really nice before. Awesome staff, they are top notch servers!

I loved the food! I got the garlic edamame which was amazing, miso soup was delish. I also got the California Roll with Eel and it was amaze as well! I also got the bento box with Chicken and Salmon teriyaki, I could only fit the salmon in my belly. I will be going back for sure for the sushi! My mom and godmother got similar bento boxes and they got the beef teriyaki which tasted a little like burnt charcoal however management took good care of us and did not charge for the uneaten food. 👍🏽

Great atmosphere! Excellent food! Everything tasted fresh and the special rolls were well worth the price. Under 150.00 after tip filled up three hard working tower climbers. Really nice server, classy environment. Very glad we were told about this place.

Ph my goodness....if you want some top notch sushi, this is the place. Visit during their Happy Hours and treat yourself! We had a group of 8, a huge ship of sushi and we all loved it!

Favorite spot for sushi in Omaha. Service is always outstanding, and the menu is quite diverse. Atmosphere is Midwestern modern, and the vibe is whatever you need it to be. Happy hour menu is like stealing—same food with a 30 percent discount, but you gotta dine in.

We hit their happy hour and really enjoyed it! The HH meme is pretty extensive, we found lots to enjoy, and our server was excellent. Wife and I ate in, and grabbed a carryout roll for another person which was nicely boxed and bagged.

Went there for the first time. My wife had the Thai Chicken Curry with a salad and I had the Braised Shrimp with Miso Soup. The food was amazing. It was the best Miso Soup I've ever had. Everything was delicious. Also, the service couldn't have been better.

Not only was the sushi within the top tier of sushi I've had before, but the waiter and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful and kind to me and my family! The aesthetics of the restaurant really brought in the flavor of food to life as well.

Everything single thing we got from here we would get again! I am still thinking about that Mongolian steak! We got spicy tuna roll as an appetizer and its the best we've had in Omaha so far! Also our service was 10/10!

I have never been disappointed by Hiro 88. The food is cosistently great and has a great variety. Sushi and shashimi great variety. Staff friendly and attentive. The only issue I have is the service staff using the "royal we" when talking to customers. Things such as "have we decided on what we want?" or "are we ready for the check?" It really can put a person off. Please use the correct pronoun "you" which can be singular or plural. Thanks.

We went Sunday with our family of six and met my father there. With seven of us we ended up with a boat of sushi, a few dishes, and three appetizers. Everything came out quick, looked amazing, and tasted great. I ordered a lemon drop martini, and this is one of my favorite places to have them because they never disappoint. My boyfriend ordered a Moscow mule, and my father had wine, all delicious. We will be back!

Been going here for YEARS and have say even with staff changes everyone has been beyond amazing and the ambience is perfect for a date rather solo or with a guest. I have to take a moment to shout out Sammy! He has been there since long before me and when you spend 5 seconds with him you can see why! He brings such joy to everyone around and his energy is the best. He is professional, kind, knowledgeable, patient and the highlight of my Hiro experience every time. Hiro 88 on West Maple is one of our favorites. The food is always amazing and Sammy is awesome. He’s always so joyful and kind and makes the whole experience better. My kids actually request to come here which says a lot. Always a great meal and great service.

We ordered 3 apps. The garlic edamame was incredible! The sweet potato fries were a pleasant surprise that were slightly sweet. The Rangoons were a solid choice as well! The sushi was also well executed, lots of good flavor combinations. Couple of them could have used some texture as it was just all the same feel, but regardless solid flavors.

We visited Hiro 88 for a birthday dinner recently. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. We had a plate of crab rangoon to share and it was hot, crispy and the mustard & sweet red sauce were spot on. I ordered the yakisoba with chicken and enjoyed every bit (it was 2 meals worth for me. The chicken was tender, broccoli crisp and it was a 5 star dish! I took home a delicious slice of lemon blueberry cake (birthday girl) that was to die for! My husband had orange chicken which is technically not on the menu and the chicken was nicely prepared. It had a LOT of water chestnuts plus peas. The sauce was slightly bitter on this dish; he'll order something else next time. Our son had yin's chicken and said that it was crisp and slightly spicy - just what he likes!

Loved this place. Everything about it feels fantastic. We were there for a colleague's birthday lunch and the food was so delicious. I ordered the Yaki Soba stir fried noodles and customized the spice level to my liking and it is exactly like I ordered. Service is top notch. Ambience is excellent. A bit pricey but well worth though. The portions could be a bit more. I will go back and try more options.

It has been a while since I ate at Hiro 88. Today I went back again after a friend’s invite. I was surprised to find a remodeled restaurant! It looked very modern and clean. I absolutely love it! Our server was very courteous. Both my meal and my friend’s looked delicious and tasted yummy. I will definitely come back again for more. Update: I change my five stars to four because I was disappointed with the food I had today. We ordered two bento boxes. One of the box had teriyaki beef. The beef was way over cooked. They tasted bitter. Then they gave us a new one. This time was way under cooked.

Phenomenal all day happy hour on Sundays. Fried assortment appetizer left much to be desired. Rolls were great.

The food was very good. I will definitely be back again.The only bad thing was we got set in the bartender section, and she was busy in the bar, so service was lacking on her table's

Went on a Sunday around 7:30pm and there was no wait. We enjoyed the all day happy hour deals on appetizers and sushi rolls. The food was delicious and the sticky rice was sweet. Our waiter Ben was great. The tempura shrimp and vegetables were cooked perfectly but the dipping sauce has no taste. It was so bland.

I had the bento box with teriyaki salmon. The salmon was kind of dry. My friend also had a bento and she wanted to pay extra to trade out steamed rice for fried rice, but they wouldn't do it. Overall food was good, the service was great and we enjoyed ourselves. I will definitely go back.

Hmmn, rating this a 3 cos food wasn't as expected. Ordered the beef fried rice yet it seemed like white rice mixed with some colored sauce. Could see chunks of white rice not mixed.. the taste too was bland. Good atmosphere and service never the less, maybe just an off day in the kitchen. I MAY try it again and up this review. MAY...

Service was a little off. We ordered a lot of different dishes. Some orders didn't get filled until we asked. The fatty fish cuts were just ok. Don't bother ordering them. The deep fried rolls were tasteless/ bland. The sushi was just ok. The hand rolls were the best tasting items.

Food was great and our waitress was nice. I rated 3 stars because it did take them an hour and a half to get our sushi out to us. To be fair, restaurants did just open up dining service after the covid quarantine and its fathers day.

Always good to go here. Good atmosphere, good food, good drinks. But today I'm removing a star. Sadly for the second time in a row here in a week I ordered asparagus beef. It's like all the asparagus I got was from the part you throw in the garbage. So either the chef doesn't like asparagus or is doing it on purpose. Either way... You know what it's worth 2 stars. For two times. Picture attached. Majority of it was inedible.

My review is strictly on the food as I didnt get the experience of dining in. For over two years I have heard I needed to try Hiro 88 cuisine. Now I have and for me, it doesnt even make the list to return which was repeated by 3 others in my group. I have never come across a piece of sushi I didnt want to finish until today. I ordered 3 different rolls, all low scores in flavor and presentation. Breading on the sesame chicken separated leaving me with cubed meat and sauce, unfortunately the flavor didnt carry the rest of the dish for me. Crab rangoons are good but lacked crunch. The lo mein was decent, good consistency fresh vegetables but heavily salted. The chicken in the fried rice reminded me of the precooked chicken patties warmed and sliced. Salad was just a spring mix, and the dressing was good. Miso soup was standard fare. High points for bagging, warmth, expeditited cooking and portions. Adequate utensils and sauces. To me, its another Sysco one stop shop where nothing stands out.

My girlfriend and I frequent this Hiro 88 often, usually at least once a month. I had a long day at work today and we decided to treat ourselves by having dinner at Hiro. We are immediately greeted by the manager and hostess, and are sat promptly. After being sat, we had waters on our table from one of the servers assistants within seconds - just like normal. But after that, we didn't get a single word from anyone. We were sat at a high top in the bar area, though it was not busy. There were 5 other tables in the bar area, most of whom already had their food at their table. We waited at least 10 minutes before we left without anyone stopping by. I don't know the exact amount of time we waited since I did not expect to have to wait so long for a server. Maybe there was confusion on who was supposed to be our server, but someone should have noticed we were not being served. Granted, I should have flagged down one of the staff members or said something to the manager before it got to that point, but by then my girlfriend and I were both hangry and we were over it. Besides, it is not our job to tell the restaurant to serve us. Like I said, this was unusual for this restaurant which is why I did not give it anything lower than 3 stars. We love Hiro and we're very disappointed in this experience. I worked in the food service industry as a server for many years, so I know I have high standards, but I also know that there are off-days too. We will definitely be back, but wanted to warn others of our experience in the off-chance it happens to someone else.

Food was good but the service was off. The waitress was nice but very forgetful. She didn’t give us napkins or silverware. She got us the salad first , also the chicken drumsticks that were dipped in sauce. she put down the forks on the table n no napkins still(paper/cloth) nothing. When she got entrées she dug in the spoon in the bowl. We couldn’t wipe our hands anyway nor our mouth. But the adjacent table got everything in place. We had to politely request for napkins, she grabbed a bunch of them and handed out to us. We had to distribute them between ourselves. By this time we were already disappointed. I have ordered chicken Lo Mein n she got me a combo Lo Mein (beef etc). I’m glad I figured the meat before eating. Anyway, food was good, service was petty. I don’t think I will come back.

I love HIRO 88 but just had a terrible experience. I ordered take out, I drove and picked it up. Went home and my teriyaki beef was raw! I called and didn’t make a big deal but asked if I could just order something else and pick it up again. Not a single apology or anything by them. But, I still drove all the way back, picked up my broccoli shrimp and it was spilled in the to go bag and got all over. Not a good experience at all.

Fried rice as soft & they charge the same price a blue sushi when it doesn't take nearly half as good

I went to this restaurant with my sister last night. While the atmosphere was wonderful my $35 14 piece sashmi was inedible. It was dusgusting and nade me gag, sadly. I had to spit out the octopus into my napkin because I never would have been able to chew it. All of the fish was not chilled, was room temp warm, that was the worst. Three of the 5 varieties were so fishy tasting they were inedible. Like out of a lake fishy, not sushi grade. I got this plate that I ordered after 1st receiving the wrong plate. The waiter said oh you pointed at something else. No, I did not and I also spoke the words small plate 14 piece sashimi. Later my sister said I heard you say that too. So maybe they gave me a bad plate because of that? Our visit was at 530-615 pm. I have had sushi and sashimi all over the country and this was not good, only the 2nd place of so many where I left it uneaten. I did like my salad with 2 dressings, the avacado egg rolls and whatever it was my sister ordered-not raw fish. I have loved other Hiro's; disappointed in this experience in Omaha off of Maple St.

this may have been the soggiest rice and stale sushi i’ve ever had. my wife and i each couldn’t eat more than one piece and was hoping edamame is good but it was cold like it was in fridge and hard. called to see if they wanted to try to fix it as we saved it for them to see. the tuna looked like canned dog food. not going back

Food was mediocre to gross. We got bento boxes so had a variety. Sushi was mushy and so cold ibhalf expected to ceunch into an ice crystal. Beef was tough. 50 bucks for 2 adults, so at best we overpaid. Will not repeat.
