We chose to celebrate my daughter's birthday here. They have some similar dishes as Chaak, but to be honest, I myself like Chaak better. They helped us to store the cake and served it at the end of the meal which was very considerate. I will definitely come back during the day to try other food. Hopefully the parking won't be that hard.
Gabbi’s Mexican Kitchen is the kind of place that reminds you why dining out can feel like travel. A 2021 and 2025 Michelin Star recipient, this cozy, intimate space feels worlds away the moment you step inside—warm, charming, and quietly transportive. We started with freshly fried chips, vibrant house salsa, and an impossibly creamy guacamole that set a high bar from the first bite. The camarones en mole verde were the standout: perfectly cooked shrimp coated in a lush, herbaceous mole, served over fragrant garlic white rice and vegetables so well executed they could be a dish of their own. Paired with the sangria roja, the flavors came together beautifully—bright, balanced, and indulgent without being heavy. The pez del día, a delicately cooked barramundi (Asian sea bass), arrived nestled in a vivid green tomatillo sauce that was both fresh and deeply flavorful. Clean, elegant, and thoughtfully plated, it paired seamlessly with their house Cabernet and showcased the kitchen’s precision and restraint. Gabbi’s isn’t just a meal—it’s a thoughtfully curated experience where every dish, pairing, and detail feels intentional. A true local favorite and a destination-worthy dining experience.
came here since my parents were in town visiting & my dad saw this place while researching different restaurants. safe to say that we were blown away! everything was SOO fresh & piping hot. We’re all vegetarians & they had amazing options to choose from. The chips & salsa is outstanding as well as the service. I can’t believe i’ve never tried this spot— as it was amazing!! 10/10 and will definitely be back <3
Excellent food and service. The salsa, something that should be so simple, elevated the experience and showed how much thought goes into each dish. Only complaint is that it is super busy and crowded. That is for good reason.
It was a little hard to locate this place at night because there wasn't a big sign or anything- but my girl and I just followed the vibes and we knew right where to go!! From our arrival all the way to the table and our servers, everything was great. The atmosphere was beautiful, we sat inside at a little table and enjoyed the energy. The service we received from everyone was so wonderful. We ordered some vegan options and some drinks and I couldn't have been more pleased! Thank you guys for making my little birthday dinner special and memorable
Such delicious food!! We ordered shrimp enchiladas, Pueblo tacos and the mole, plus the queso fundido con chorizo app and margaritas. Service was great and fast, everything hot and flavorful. Absolutely delicious and worth the price.
If you’re looking for a spot to enjoy some tasty Mexican food, Gabbi’s Mexican Kitchen in Orange is a solid choice. They’ve got a good variety of cocktails that are not only delicious but also pretty to look at. The place has a cool vibe—rustic and authentic, but still trendy. We tried three different dishes, and all of them were delicious. Gabbi’s is known for its vibrant, authentic dining experience, offering upscale dishes that blend modern gastronomy with traditional Mexican recipes. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with backlit shelves lined with tequila bottles adding to the atmosphere.
The chicken enchiladas were absolutely delicious. The waiter was very nice and attentive. The complimentary chips and salsa were also extremely delicious. I would highly recommend going here! 5-stars out of 5-stars for sure!
I thought the salsa Verde was fantastic. The roasted tomatillo gives it a slight smokiness that makes it so unique. Everything else tasted really good including my passion fruit margarita. I like the unique design of the restaurant, with glass decor Thanks for the hospitality.
Gabbie’s is one of my favorite places! I love their homemade tortillas and salsa. You can count on getting great service, margaritas and food. The Old Town Orange vibe in this hip restaurant is right for any day of the week.
My Dear Gabbi , you truly hit the right flavor and sazón with the Mexican gastronomy ... I was impressed with every bite of how close I was to my dear Mexico lindo. Señorita Alicia offered the most amazing customer service she's a true beauty she reminded me of Maria Felix she made my experience of Gabbi's memorable it exceeded my expectations the food was 10/10 the cook had great sazón my love you brought Mexico to heart of orange thank you again for serving authentic Mexican dishes the huitlacoche blew me away that's such a difficult ingredient to find, the quesadilla de flor de calabacita and quesito was an explosion of flavors with the habanero sauce, the tlacoyo such a unique dish with wonderful texture of the masa filled with frijolitos , and the arroz blanco with the epazote essence uff that was executed phenomenally but I saved the best for last the pastel de tres leches out of this world !! Moist and yet refreshing with the berry campote I can taste your passion with every bite keep inspiring cooks like me one day I want to be like you -love Stephanie

This was a great place, and as a Mexican born I can genuinely say that this is authentic Mexican taste. I love this place 100% . Highly recommended. Shout out to Carlos the manager he has his team well organized in a none stressful environment. Thank you for your service. From the host to the tortillas ladies n cooks.
Dining with friends, we ordered the guacamole appetizer followed by carnitas tacos, beef cheek quesadilla, and shrimp enchiladas for our main meal. Each item was absolutely delicious! Full of flavor! The shrimp enchiladas were particularly unique in their flavor, and a memorable dish for sure! Our server was Kyra and she was full of recommendations and very attentive! Thank you Gabbi’s!
Gabbi’s is an outstanding restaurant with beautiful décor and an amazing atmosphere — the kind of place you want to stay all day. The food is exceptional, honestly some of the best Mexican cuisine my wife and I have had anywhere. We’ve visited three times now, always dining at the bar, and every time we've been served by Rodolfo Ortega. He’s an incredibly talented bartender who makes every drink with precision. What sets him apart is his attention to detail and genuine care — after serving a drink, he always checks in to see what we think and whether there’s anything he can adjust or improve. Perfection is clearly his standard, and kindness is simply who he is. If management sees this: giving him a raise would be well worth it. Don’t let him get away.
If you’re looking for the best Mexican restaurant in Orange County, Gabbi’s Mexican Kitchen is it. The service is truly impeccable. They are attentive, warm, and consistently thoughtful. The drinks are delicious and beautifully crafted, especially the margaritas. And the tacos? My absolute favorite in all of Orange County. The tacos de camarones are a must-order... perfectly cooked shrimp, spicy flavor, and fresh ingredients wrapped in warm tortillas. ALSO THEIR CHIPS AND SALSA is INCREDIBLE! After having Gabbi's salsa, you'll never want another salsa again. The ambiance is perfect, the people are incredible, and the food and drinks are my favorite in all of OC. Best fine dining Mexican in town!
Good spot for Mexican food in Orange. We had the guac and salsa with chips, the Caesar salad and the carnitas platter, and all were really solid. Maybe a little more upscale for Mexican than my taste, but definitely good. Easy to make reservations on OpenTable before you roll up.

The service and food were very good. It was a very busy place and the appetizers are pretty big so when ordering considered the size they can fill you up, otherwise really nice area very popular as well. Highly recommend.
Gaby’s Kitchen has been one of my favorite Mexican food spots in downtown Orange for over 12 years. The food is always amazing everything on the menu is delicious. The servers are so attentive, always checking on you making sure you have whatever you need. It’s consistent, welcoming, and the kind of place you look forward to coming back to again and again. Thank you!
We had a lovely time here, they were extremely busy, but found space for us in the bar area. Really made an effort to accommodate us. The food was delicious and drinks were yummy, but the bar tenders were busy pouring up table drinks and it did take a while for us to get an additional drink order in. It was a Friday night so plan ahead if possible.
The vibrant decor and warm ambiance set the stage for a delightful meal. Appetizer was so good, the desserts were a delicious finish to the meal, particularly the tres leches cake, which was moist and indulgent. However, the steak was somewhat underwhelming—acceptable but not particularly memorable. Overall, Gabby Mexican Kitchen is a great spot for comfort food and satisfying desserts, making it worth a visit.

Nice spot in old town orange with good food and friendly service. The Gorditas Al pastor appetizer was especially hood, highly recommend. The braised beef quesadilla were good, as was the pozole. The strawberry tres leches dessert was just okay. It’s in a nice location to go for a walk around before or after eating.
That freaking salsa is amazing! The one experience I could've done without was having drinks and then being told the plumbing was broken when I went to the restrooms. I had fresh shrimp empanadas with the chorizo on the side. I was very please they were able to make them to my request. Drinks were made right. We just had to go across the street and wait in a line to use another restaurants facilities.
Gabbi's Mexican Kitchen offers a cozy atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. The ambiance is inviting, and I appreciated the comfortable setting. However, my experience was a bit mixed. On the positive side, the food was decent, although it's worth noting that every dish contains garlic, which was a challenge for me due to my garlic allergy. The churros, though, were a standout and absolutely delicious. Additionally, the pricing was reasonable, which is always a plus. Unfortunately, there were some downsides. The server seemed uncertain about the ingredients in the dishes and didn't handle different food restrictions well. As someone with allergies, this was disappointing and made me feel a bit uneasy about what I could order. Furthermore, my michelada arrived warm and lacked the flavor I expected. Additionally, the service was not as prompt as I would have liked. As a restaurant critic, I would suggest Gabbi's Mexican Kitchen work on being more accommodating to people with food restrictions and allergies. Improving customer service, particularly by training servers to be more knowledgeable about the menu and attentive to customer needs, is essential. Speeding up service and focusing on the quality of drinks would also enhance the overall dining experience. Despite these issues, I see potential in Gabbi's Mexican Kitchen and would be willing to give them another chance. With some adjustments, they could truly shine in Orange's dining scene.

I visited Gabbi's Mexican Kitchen last weekend and left disappointed. While the appetizers and the Pescado del Dia were enjoyable, the Enchiladas Suizas were far too sweet and lacked authentic spice. The real issue, however, was the service. Our server made several rude and patronizing comments, including judging us for finishing our appetizers ("Wow, great job guys") and insinuating we shouldn't order mains. She also made an awkward "joke" about refusing to refill my Agua de Jamaica. The food was okay, but the uncomfortable service ensures I won't return or recommend this place.
I recently dined at Gabbi's for the first time this Valentine's Day. With high expectations stemming from positive reviews, I found myself quite disappointed by my experience. Unfortunately, my fiancé suffered from food poisoning after eating her chicken enchiladas. To make matters worse, when I reached out to the restaurant to notify them, the manager responded in a rude, confrontational, and dismissive manner. I was neither angry nor seeking a refund, so I was taken aback by the manager's unpleasant attitude during our phone conversation. This is certainly not the response one would anticipate from a manager. As a result, I will not be returning to this restaurant, and if you prioritize excellent customer service, you definitely won't find it here!
The food here sucks, salty and worst of all it came out cold. Burrito came with 6 suger cube size meat, meat was rock hard and over salted and I like salt...yes small suger cubes size meat..sad for a almost $30 dollar Burrito. It was nothing but a rice Burrito for $30 dollars, what a ripped off! Ordered a $5 dollar agua fresca and the small cup came half full and worst of all it was the powder stuff agua fresca like the the stuff that comes from the coolaid packets! Wife carnitas tacos came out cold and meat was super dry like the meat was sitting out. Shame on who ever gave this place a michilien rating. Don't waste your hard earned money on salty cold food!
Unfortunately, our experience at Gabbi’s was very disappointing. The service was poor, and the manager was extremely unprofessional. When we attempted to pay with a gift card that clearly had “Gabbi’s” name on it (a birthday gift from a friend), the manager told us they do not accept it and said they “don’t deal with that online company where the gift card was bought.” When I asked why Gabbi’s would be listed on the gift card company’s site if they don’t accept it, I was told that it was our problem to resolve. No accountability, and lots of attitude! I found it unfair that the responsibility was placed entirely on the customer instead of the restaurant addressing the issue and at least removing their name from the site. After hearing other negative reviews, this experience confirmed them and would not have come if it weren’t for the gift card. In the end, we were able to exchange the card online for a Visa gift card or deposit the funds into our bank account. Honestly, I’m glad it worked out that way — I’d much rather have the money than return here.
