Best Bengali food that I had in a while! I lived in Bangladesh for couple of months, this restaurant reminded me the great time that I had there! Very authentic flavors! Staff also friendly and polite made a great experience. Samosas, chicken tandoor and the beef tehri rice were my favorites! Place very cozy! Thanks for the experience! I recommend a try!
If you’re looking for authentic Bangladeshi cuisine, this restaurant is an absolute gem! The food is bursting with flavor and authenticity, from the tender and perfectly spiced beef curry to the aromatic fried rice. The naan was fresh, warm, and delightfully buttery, complementing the dishes wonderfully. The sautéed vegetables with meat were cooked to perfection, with just the right balance of spices and freshness. The presentation of the dishes was impressive, and the portions were generous. The ambiance of the restaurant felt cozy and welcoming, perfect for a hearty meal with friends or family. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving a genuine Bangladeshi culinary experience! I will definitely be coming back to try more of their offerings. Excellent food and overall a memorable dining experience!
We had goat rezala with garlic nun and a weekend special Hilsha curry. It was simply amazing! Also we got the beef samosa as an appetizer, the best appetizer we have eaten in a while 🙌
Stopped by while traveling and had a wonderful experience. I ordered the grass-fed beef, which was absolutely delicious, paired perfectly with naan and the Bangla Salad. My daughter chose the chicken tandoori, which arrived sizzling on a stone plate—she was absolutely thrilled with it. Our server, Nomi, was incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. The food is very reasonably priced too. Highly recommend!
Everything was so good - Flavor, portion, price, and service. I will definitely be coming back!
Love this place - wonder around in Orinda looking for a take out My 4 years old loved the lollipop chicken Bangla salad was a hit Chicken Roast was out of the world Small cozy place with friendly staff We will be back
Authentic and scrumptious Bangladeshi food. Loved the dudh cha (milk tea) and the goat rezala was to die for. I will definitely be a regular here. Also, shout out to Namrata, she was an amazing host.
The food and service were amazing!! I also tried the lychee mimosa and is was 10/10!
Excellent food with amazing flavors, must try tandoori kababs and goat

Fantastic food, friendly service every time we went. We had beef lentil, Bangla chicken curry, saag paneer ... all full of new flavors. We dined there a few times and also had take out, both great. Will definitely be back.
Just checked out this new Bangladeshi spot that just opened up. The staff said it used to be an Indian restaurant, but honestly, I was really impressed with the service — super friendly and quick. The food was really good too, maybe even some of the best Bangladeshi dishes I’ve had, better than a lot of other places I’ve tried, including some Indian spots. They have many options for meat, vegetarian, or vegan on the menu. The prices are also very fair for the quality and portions. Definitely will be coming back!
Delicious food with a lot of variety on the menu. Many different options for vegetarians, pescatarians, and meat lovers. I look forward to trying more on the menu.

It was too hot too spicy even for my very authentic Bangladeshi taste bud. Not sure if the spice really interprets Bangladeshi beyond chef’s own preferences. Most of us travel with kids and needs at least medium spicy food. I also think the spice came from unnatural amount of ginger and blended green chili which is a whole different spice than just red chili itself. I desperately want Atithi to leave a stable mark on the map as a Bangladeshi restaurant. We need that in the map. Here’s some of my humble 2 cents. Please cut down the menu, serve fresh food, cut down the spice level. It was obvious the same spice blend you had for egg korma is the same in goat curry and same in raita in all different proportions. Egg had become tough on the exterior , obviously quite cold, refrigerated and heavily microwaved. The korma curry was inedible. Tehari was not tehari at all :( no flavor. NONE Goat curry , Polao was redeemable!!!! But goat curry was very spicy. You want returning Atithi. Not one and done. Please change some of the things and stay shining on the map. Your staff was great.

I ordered the dish with rice and goat meat and potato that the server suggested - I never knew the name, as it was not on the printed menu. I specifically asked the server if it was (spicy) hot and he said no. It was so hot I could not eat it. . The server never came to check if we were happy with our food. I took it home for someone else. The items ordered by the other people in the party were also spicier than anticipated but OK. It was a very pleasant, quiet place to sit.
To be honest I am so much disappointed. This is not Authentic Bangladeshi cuisine. My friend and me went there memorial day weekend for Bangladeshi food. We was so much excited for Bangladeshi Food. We ordered beef tehari, Kacchi biriyani, Hilsha fish and Rui fish curry. Tehari was not tehari. Old food it’s turn black Kacchi was not authentic very less flavor and very spicy. Fish curry is horrible. They didn’t clean and wash fish properly also gravy is like uncooked onion too much. Please hire a good chef you guys do better. Next day we visit to another bangladeshi restaurant in Sacramento and it was worth for authentic bangladeshi food.
Ordered beef tehari and tandoori plate. Definitely not authentic taste not even close to that!
Ordered ilish tail vorta and beef curry. The ilish vorta barely had any fish in it, heated in a microwave. And the beef curry was overly sweet and clearly not fresh, it tasted like leftover food reheated in a microwave too. The flavors were terrible, and we honestly felt sick after a few bites. As Bangladeshis, this was embarrassing and disappointing. Wanted to try more dishes, but after this, we just stopped. Total waste of money.
I've ordered food through the restaurant website, got an email with a confirmation, drove to pick up the food only to find out that the restaurant was closed. Called the restaurant, a lady said that she doesn't know why the order was taken, her husband is handling the system and she'll let him know. "Don't worry, you'll get your money back." It's been 3 days, there was no call, no email, no one picks up the phone, the money is taken without service ever provided. That is not a way to conduct a business, sorry. UPD: Another day later there is still no refund and no attempt to contact me. UPD 2: And one more day later - still no refund, no attempts to contact me, and no one picks up the phone.
I was really looking forward to trying this place, but unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. The Bengali Kacchi was quite underwhelming — lacking in both flavor and aroma. The Kacchi rice is also below average. The onion beresta on top of Kacchi was unusually hard and difficult to chew, which took away from the dish even more. The vorta seemed rushed, tasting like it was just boiled and mixed with salt and onions, without the balance or depth usually expected. On a more positive note, the chicken dishes were noticeably better and had more flavor. However, my friend did find a hair in the Kacchi, which raised concerns about kitchen hygiene. Additionally, the Loitta fish had a strange soapy taste, which was quite off-putting. In the end the owner gave us free curd which shows their effort to do better in future and retain customers. However, given the quality and the portion of the food, the prices felt a bit too steep — almost double what one would expect for this level of food and service. I genuinely hope the restaurant takes steps to improve both the food quality and hygiene. If they do, I’d be open to giving them another try in the future.
One item from the ordered food was not available, did not get any refund which was paid already and the manager in the restaurant has no way to compensate for the unavailable item, kept the phone number to return a call to send the refund, call was never made. Tried beef burger which was juicy and well made, beef tehari was not tehari rather it was prepared by mixing polao rice with cooked beef, quite unsatisfying experience overall.
This was one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. Here's a breakdown of what we ordered and our honest ratings: Kacchi Biryani (1/10): This was not traditional Kacchi biryani at all. The quality was well below average (No flavor, nothing), yet we were charged $24 per plate. That price is simply unreasonable, $13–15 would’ve made far more sense. The rice was overly soft and mushy (ঝাউ ভাত), and we were given only two small pieces of goat meat, one of which was mostly bone. Definitely not worth the price. Hilsha Vorta (1/10): Almost made me vomit. It was overwhelmingly filled with onions (roughly 80%), heavily salted, and had a barely noticeable amount of fish. Highly unpleasant. Avoid at all costs. Lotia Vorta (1/10): Shockingly, it smelled like soup—yes, actual soup. Very strange and off-putting. Lentils (0/10): The worst of all. It tasted sour and spoiled—like leftover or night-old food (বাসি). It was so bad that it triggered vomiting. We paid $17 for this, which is not acceptable for such poor quality. Traditional Chicken Curry (6/10): This was the only item that was somewhat acceptable, though still average. The owner provided us with two tangy yogurts (tok doi) as compensation on the house, which were just okay, nothing special. A 10% discount was applied (will add the receipt if needed), but that’s the standard first-time online order discount anyway, so it doesn’t feel like any compensation for the poor food and experience.
We would like to point out a few issues with our experience. You gave us a 10% discount and 2 desserts for a group of 8. While we appreciated the gesture and said thank you, it’s worth noting that the 10% discount is already offered to anyone ordering through your app — so this was not really a special favor to us. However, the overall experience was disappointing. The price and the quality of the food did not match. We found a hair in the food, which is unacceptable and does not meet proper food safety standards. Everyone in our group ordered the same dish, yet the portion sizes were inconsistent. The taste of the food was also underwhelming and did not feel authentic. When we raised these concerns, you responded by saying that since we consumed the food, what did we expect — should we have said the food was bad and walked away? That is not how good customer service works. We informed you of the issues in good faith, and despite the poor experience, we still paid for everything we ordered. We hope you take this feedback seriously and work on improving your food quality, hygiene, and customer service Update: We did mention to your staff that we found a hair in the food — so please stop lying. Whatever god you believe in is watching how dishonestly you’re treating your customers. If you want to run a restaurant, you need to welcome your customers and serve quality food — and be able to accept honest, negative feedback when things go wrong. If you can’t take that, you shouldn’t be in business. It’s people like you — who spoil the name of Bangladeshi food with poor service and bad attitude — who make the cuisine look bad. We said the truth, and we stand by it. Please reflect on how you treat your customers.
