Was the best way to start off the day hanging out with friends. The food was amazing, nostalgic and new all in the same bite. The menu does have a great variety of items to choose from. From simple to a little more refined. Whatever you choose you will enjoy it. Fresh flavorful and tasty. The atmosphere was inviting and was a great place to hang out and talk for a while. Can't stay enough about the staff. Great customer service. Stop in and enjoy a wonderful meal with friends, family, or even that special someone.
Normally do not like going downtown or to mills avenue because of all the idiotic drivers and drunk people but this place is GOOD! So much so I've been four times already and I dont even like mills and down town area. Food is tapas style and is actually super good. My only complaint is it is way too loud in this place and the tables are very close to each other. People constantly bumping into each other. Not very well set up but definitely recommend as the food is good.
From the moment we walked in we were greeted with warmth and smiles. We sat in a cozy booth which overlooked the restaurant and the Great Vibe! Our Beautiful Carolina cared for our table with such love, grace and kindness; she handled our choices perfectly and we just can’t say enough as she made our experience perfect! When it was time for her to turn the table over she introduced us to Nelson who ended our experience with a delicious desert selection, made sure we had everything we needed and helped us take Fun photographs too! The Food (Delicious!!!), Drinks so Creative, the Atmosphere and Service was Fabulous! We left happy and truly felt we had celebrated our Birthdays in the Best way! Our hearts are Full and we will be back! Thank you so much! With much Gratitude…Ana, Liz & Maritza ❤️
The food was fantastic, I love a place that is creative and unique and this place does it well! There is a little Asian twist to the dishes that someone who isn’t familiar can enjoy a little introduction. We did the 7 course tasting menu for $85pp. Drinks were great. Ambiance is a nice homage, to the lamp store that used to occupy the space. And our server Abe was attentive, but not solicitous; gave good recommendations. The chef came out to serve desert which was a nice touch. Valet parking was a reasonable 5 bucks.
This place was such a great surprise! My girlfriends took me there for my birthday. Our server Catalina was AMAZING! She wanted to make sure our visit was special. Her attentiveness and engagement with us was phenomenal. The vibes of this place was awesome from the wall murals to the photo op with their lamp shade props. The cocktails and tapas style food were so delicious! We absolutely enjoyed everything we ordered. This is must do restaurant day or night! Now get out there and “throw some shade”!
Some restaurants lean into a theme, but Lamp & Shade lives it. From the quirky lampshade décor to the gorgeous mural on the wall, the atmosphere feels both stylish and playful, like stepping into a space designed for good times. I came here on a mission: their Negroni. As a true Negroni lover, I had high expectations, and wow, it easily slid into my personal Top 5. Perfectly balanced, bittersweet, and bold enough to earn its spot. That alone would have made my day. But Lamp & Shade isn’t shy when it comes to cocktails. The Melon Dollar Baby (watermelon, cucumber, mint, gin, and a cheeky Red Bull Watermelon kick) was fun and refreshing, but the second round stole the show. The White Kimono, delicate, herbal, and lightly floral with Thai basil and elderflower, was dreamy. And the Zen & Tonic with shiso and Aviation gin felt like a polished, elevated twist on a classic. Since it was “brunch,” we dove into food. The chicken and waffles hit every note: perfectly seasoned, crispy chicken on fluffy waffles that made the sweet-and-savory combo shine. I also had the sliders, fried egg, applewood bacon, lettuce, tomato, and chipotle aioli, messy in the best way and absolutely delicious. Service sealed the deal. Our server was warm, welcoming, and genuinely enthusiastic. She walked us through specials and even invited us back for their Thursday all-night happy hour (4 p.m. to close). She wore a necklace with her name on it, which I noticed, but I still can’t remember her name, and I wish I did, because she truly made the visit unforgettable.
100/100 Service was spectacular and the food was even better! I had the pleasure of dining here on a business dinner and our table almost ordered one of everything off the menu. I was able to try a little bit of every menu item and each item was filled with a flavor punch. The spicy rigatoni was my favorite if I had to pick only one plate to recommend but they were all top notch. You can't go wrong with anything from the menu. I am very excited to visit again soon. Thank you for such an outstanding meal!! I will be telling everyone I know that they MUST come here!!
I normally go here just for drinks but recently I tried their food and this place truly is a 10/10. The atmosphere is amazing, the dim lighting makes it feel cozy and intimate. The drinks are incredible and so is the food! The only thing I would change is the portion sizes of the food because everything was just so good! My favorites included the duck dumplings, the potatoes and burrata.
Paulina was an incredible server with great hair and great recommendations. Great spot for cocktails on mills. First time trying the brunch menu and I was not disappointed. Caesar salad bites are a must any time of day.
I just dined here for the first time and had an excellent experience. Carolina was my server and she did an excellent job of explaining the menu both food and drinks. I look forward to returning.
Visited here during our honeymoon, our waitress Carolina was exceptional! She walked us through the menus and provided excellent service through the entire night. If we are in this area again we will definitely stop by again!
First time at Lamp and Shade — walked in and it was completely packed, but they got us seated right away. Tried the White Kimono and the Forbidden Bloom, both were excellent. Really cute place with a great vibe and awesome service. Definitely coming back.
I've been here twice now and it's definitely added to my favorite places. Not only is the atmosphere beautiful, every dish is delicious. Definitely make a reservation but there's also bar seating available, with comfortable chairs. Cute date night spot or a fun place to go with friends.
Great ambiance, spectacular service, upbeat, and modern. Splurge for the experience, was worth it. Saw some local celebrities and news anchors enjoying the night there too.
High quality service. Incredible ingredients with unique flavor combinations. Perfect for small date night, or big group meet up. Drinks are outstanding and pair perfectly with the chefs menu.
Delicious food. (Portions are quite large). Carolina, our waitress was super sweet and attentive. Impressed by the layout and composition of the dishes! Can recommend this place to anyone that appreciates a more exclusive dining experience.
We had so much fun! Chef Ryan Stewart and our server Alvin were an absolute pleasure. The decor was phenomenal. Definitely felt like we were transported into the whimsical but classy world of Lamp and Shade. So the food, wow! I am vegetarian and my friends are not but we all enjoyed every single dish! Literally not a bite was left. Chef Ryan Stewart is a culinary genius. The details from the crispy garnishes to the indulgent sauces complimented the dishes so well. The pacing at which Alvin and his team brought out the dishes was perfect because we got to enjoy everything without feeling overbearing. I had a lychee cocktail that I am still salivating over. Super fragrant and smooth. Kudos to the bartender! 10/10 recommend for a very pleasant and delicious night out or early date. Thank you Lamp & Shade team for an awesome birthday!
From the industrial-art deco chic decor to the beautiful dishes to the antique book check holders, every moment at Lamp & Shade Kitchen is punctuated by comfort and style. Our experience here edges out several other Michelin rated restaurants in terms of service, ambiance, and food—both quality and creativity. Every dish we tried was perfectly executed and generously portioned. We started with mocktails, two hot plates, and two cold plates. Everything came out pretty quickly, and finished plates were also cleared away without sitting long. We had mushroom risotto and skirt steak for entrees, and the portions were so big that we had leftovers (we almost never have leftovers, especially not from small plates-style places). The flavors, preparation, temperature, and plating were all perfect. We finished with two desserts that were just as good as the rest of the food, which is pretty impressive as many places with fantastic food have mediocre dessert. All of the staff we interacted with, including our waiter, were very kind and made sure we had everything we needed. They pointed out the 20% gratuity and starred it on our check, which was appreciated. We went early in the evening and were able to get parking spots close by, but it would be definitely worth arriving early if you have a later reservation to make sure you find somewhere to park. All in all, this restaurant instantly became a top 3 favorite in all of Orlando for us. Can’t wait to go back again soon!

Lamp & Shade is the perfect spot to grab bites and drinks with friends! The décor is beautiful, the concept is fantastic, service excellent great servers and the music is just right—ambient enough that you can actually have a conversation. Another gem in Orlando for those who love good food, great drinks, and a unique night out.

Octavia and Abnel were amazing!! Awesome atmosphere and delicious food and drinks. Will definitely be back!
Perfect spot for Sunday Brunch. Carolina and Phoenix made sure we had great food and drinks flowing. The music and vibe was so comfortable and fun, we lingered for 3 hours. Highly recommend the Plantain Pancakes and Cold Brew

Avery was our waitress and she is a gem! She made our experience wonderful so definitely keep her around. The food was excellent and the vibe of the place was great! Will definitely be back!! Thanks Avery for taking care of us on our girls night out!!
We had a great time at Lamp & Shade just recently. The dishes were quite ingenious, delicious and well portioned. The cocktails were also very tasty, although not as quite memorable as the food. The ambience was lively and even though it wasn’t a busy night, the vibe was very pleasant. The staff were friendly and took very good care of us. The only disappointment is the “service charge 20% applied to all checks” which, even though it was disclosed, it’s nothing but a money grab. Considering the great experience we had, I would have happily conceded a 20% gratuity anyways but, why force all customers to do it?
I visited Lamp & Shade Craft Kitchen and Cocktails for happy hour with two friends and, unfortunately, the service experience overshadowed what could have been a great evening. We asked Ian, the bartender, about the happy hour menu as it was clear that’s what we were there for. Instead, we were upsold on liquor without any mention that it wasn’t included in happy hour pricing. The cocktail itself was noticeably small, which added to the frustration when the bill arrived. When we asked about the charges, the bartender responded with an unnecessary attitude and became argumentative rather than helpful. To make matters worse, the check included an automatic 20% gratuity for a party of three sitting at the bar. While it was technically noted in the fine print, it was not mentioned verbally and wasn’t something we expected for a small bar group. To their credit, the food was excellent—well-prepared and genuinely enjoyable. However, the overall service experience left a strong negative impression. Unfortunately, despite the great food, the combination of undisclosed upselling, poor communication, and confrontational service will keep me from returning.
