Jag Cantina is such a beautiful addition to the Windermere area. The fact that the aroma of well prepared meats hits you at the door 10/10 (something lots of restaurants overlook). The staff was friendly, attentive, and seemed to really enjoy the work environment. Justin came and greeted us promptly after being sat by our friendly hostess. I had a virgin frozen margarita and it was good. A great way to start our meal. Our server Gus was friendly and enthusiastic. He made some excellent menu recommendations per my request and made our impromptu date night quite enjoyable. I had the Birria ramen and my boyfriend had the cantina chicken. We loved that we were served warm chips and salsa and the queso was so good warm perfectly seasoned and creamy. As far as the entree the consommé on the birria ramen was perfection it went straight to my bones and just felt like it was done right. My boyfriend also really enjoyed his cantina chicken it was a light dish that he completely devoured. We will definitely be back.
We went out this past Friday night and ended up staying for hours because the atmosphere was so fun and relaxing. Unlike the downtown bar scene, this felt perfect to sit with good drinks and listen to the DJ that night (8pm on), and while some people were up dancing, we were perfectly happy hanging out with our margaritas and enjoying the evening. We started with the sampler platter of queso, ceviche, and street corn, and the street corn is definitely a must-try! I ordered the Birria ramen, which I had to try since I’ve never seen it anywhere else, and it was incredible. My wife had the snapper, which was such a unique find at a Mexican restaurant, and she said it was delicious. Our friend ordered the fajitas, and we all ended up sharing because we wanted to try all the dishes. We finished with the fried ice cream for dessert, which I haven't seen at many places, and I have been absolutely craving it. Get it if they have it! All in all, excellent food, great drinks, and a fun, laid-back atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back.
Delicious food, authentic dishes. The tacos made with grilled meat in flour tortillas, northern Mexican style, are delicious, and the barbecue is exquisite. Sauces with the true Mexican flavor. The seafood towel is fresh on everything. The service is a 100, all clean and elegant, special to share with friends, family, or to celebrate something special. The area is the best, Windermere.
New Mexican restaurant in town that isn’t you average Mexican Restaurant. The dishes definitely feel elevated while still having some Mexican favorites. The Molcajete is the start on the menu, shrimp, steak, chorizo and chicken! Served in a stone bowl with warm tortillas. Craft Cocktails, DJ night and a delicious dessert made it for a great date night.
A Hidden Gem Bursting with Flavor and Flair! JAG Cantina is hands-down one of the best Mexican restaurants around. From the moment you walk in, the vibrant atmosphere and upbeat energy set the tone for an incredible experience. Every dish bursts with authentic flavor you can taste! The food is perfectly seasoned, the cocktails are dangerously good, and the presentation has that extra flair that makes it feel special. The staff is warm, attentive, and clearly love what they do and it shows in every interaction. Whether you're coming for a casual night out or a fun group dinner, JAG Cantina nails it every time. If you’re looking for a spot that combines bold flavors, great vibes, and top-tier service, JAG Cantina is it. 🌮🔥
GET THE BIRRIA SKILLET!! Went for brunch and had the birria empanadas 10/10 and that birria skillet was 20/10. Sooooo good and filling, the best brunch item I’ve had all year! Got some drinks too: espresso martinis and some cantina margs
We had the most amazing date night at Jag Cantina! Everything from the service to the food was spot on. We started with the chips and salsa — fresh, flavorful, and a perfect way to kick off the meal. The Birria Empanadas were next, and wow… golden, crispy, filled with tender birria beef and melty Oaxaca cheese, served with chipotle mayo for dipping. You know it’s good when you do a happy dance after the first bite! It was me... I was doing the happy dance! Cocktails were next-level. The Jungle Punch, served in a sleek black tiki glass, was refreshing with mint, pineapple, lime, and a perfect mix of rums. The El Chisme Margarita with a Tajín rim balanced hibiscus syrup, lime, and Blanco tequila beautifully, so smooth and flavorful. For dinner, I had the Carne Asada with rice and black beans from their Lighter Fare section, while my husband enjoyed the Steak Fajitas. Every bite was pure perfection. And dessert… the Sopapillas! Warm, pillowy pastries dusted with powdered sugar and served with hazelnut jalapeño sauce. We literally fought over the last bite — and yes, I won! Our server, Jessie, was amazing — attentive, friendly, and he really went above and beyond to make our night special. Jag Cantina is a must-visit. Delicious food, incredible cocktails, outstanding service, and an atmosphere that makes date night feel extra special. We’ll definitely be back!
Last night we had a great experience at Jag Cantina...One of our friends is departing Orlando so we chose Jag Cantina due to its proximity to our homes, its semi-private dining room, and the happy hour options, which now extends to 7:00pm. Justin, our server, did a great job with the 15-20 of us. Happy Hour consisted of discounted drinks and appetizers. At the end of the evening, everyone had a great time; the experience, food, and drinks were fantastic. While my wife and I visited in the first week of opening, Jag Cantina has made great strides/improvements since then, and we look forward to returning soon! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This used to be the location for the old Perkins and Black Rock. They have Tastefully retrofitted the restaurant into an upscale Mexican destination. Soon they will have a DJ to enjoy. A little dancing. The food was very fresh and delightful.
Amazing restaurant! The service is amazing Heather is one of the porch servers she served us in the front while we sat there waiting for some more of our group to show up! She was so nice and even came into the restaurant to check on us throughout our dinner. Justin was our server in the restaurant and he was super friendly and attentive! The food is SO good! The guacamole is amazing, so is the cilantro rice as the side dish! SO SO GOOD! And the fried ice cream 💗 so good! Inside the restaurant is beautiful, I love the colors!! Bathrooms are clean and smell so fresh 🫶
This restaurant opened a week and a half ago. A lot of these one star reviews are from the day they open and that’s not fair. I went today a week and a half after they opened and I had an amazing experience. The staff had their ducks in order and were running the restaurant very well and it got packed. Everybody was extremely nice. I sat at the bar and was waited on by Carlos and Matt and they were very personable, accommodating, and punctual. The food was very good, the drinks were very good. I really enjoyed it! Considering they just opened, I feel like they did an amazing job. By the time I left, the parking lot was full and there was a wait at the door. Give people a break sometimes and let them work out the kinks of a brand new restaurant before you give a negative review. My only feedback would be that the drinks are very small, so I’m not sure if I would pay $12 for a margarita if it was not on happy hour, and the chairs at the bar were extremely close together, maybe removing two chairs would give people a little bit more space. But all in all the staff was amazing. The food was amazing. I’ve already told my friends about this restaurant and I will definitely be back.
Recently had a wonderful dinner at Jag Cantina! The restaurant has only been open for a little over a month and they are definitely feeling a lot of growing pains. It was very busy when we arrived, but we were seated right away. After we were seated it took 15 minutes for someone to come over and greet us and bring us water. We figured it best to order drinks and an appetizer right then as we didn’t know how long it would be before a server returned. The server that came over was only helping our server since it was so busy. It took another 15 minutes for our appetizer to come and another 10 minutes after that to receive our drinks. We had the Chicharron guacamole and it was wonderful! our drinks were all delicious as well, highly recommend the death by Tiki. The old-fashioned came out in a wooden box that was opened table-side to reveal a beautiful smoky presentation. Dinner came out faster than everything else. Every entree was absolutely delicious! The chicken and pork enchiladas were extremely flavorful and not dry at all. The Birria tacos were some of the cheesiest I have ever had. The street tacos were excellent and a great size. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant, you will not be disappointed in the food! Just be prepared to give grace as they work through the challenges of being new and getting their footing. I can’t wait to go back!
Great addition to our area !!! New restaurant and Ashley our server was phenomenal and went the extra mile to make sure we had a great experience. Food was fantastic and had a delicious touch that’s not in your normal Mexican restaurant. Make no mistake this ain’t taco Tuesday place . For my alcoholic piers there’s a little bid of everything from your normal shelf brands, price it properly to some a little on the high end. My old fashion on the high end was super good so I have no complaints with price. So if you want to experience a different Mexican restaurant that overall leaves you with a smile then this is your place . I’m confident as times go by they will get even better and will definitely return Only advise I have to management if you have 10 items in your menu make sure you don’t run out of any of them . Arriva Arriva !!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing Lunch Experience at Jag Cantina! I had an absolutely amazing lunch at Jag Cantina in Orlando! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming. The food was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. A special shoutout to Whitney, my server, who was incredibly helpful, attentive, and professional. She made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. And kudos to Matt the bartender—his cocktails were exceptional! Each drink was expertly crafted and added the perfect touch to a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommend Jag Cantina for anyone looking for great food, great drinks, and top-notch service. I’ll definitely be back!
Thank you for making our lunch experience memorable! The staff and management during this Sunday shift made a great impression :) Kennedy and Jessy Looking forward to come back!
Weekend Brunch With the family. My son love he’s 3 leches French Toast. I had a Watermelon Mojito and Chilaquiles Verdes .
Had such a great experience here yesterday! The food was phenomenal — fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. But what really made the visit special was our server, Mikey. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and shared the backstories behind the dishes and the restaurant itself, which made everything feel that much more meaningful. His energy was infectious — friendly, fun, and genuinely passionate about the place. You can tell he really loves what he does, and it shows. Can’t wait to come back!

We visited tonight for the first time. We waited a little longer than 10 min for our server to come to our table, but then Justin came to take care of us and he was amazing, 5 stars to him. I had the chicken, the carrot purée that came with it was delicious, my bf had the steak burrito and the steak was cooked nicely as he ordered. Justin was very attentive and diligent. We will definitely go back.

This was our first time dining at Jag Cantina and we really had no idea what to expect. What we got was excellent service - our server, Chris, was very attentive and gave us excellent recommendations - and some really delicious food. The guacamole was incredible, as was the passion fruit tres leches cake. The quesobirria tacos were delicious, and the molcajete was a large enough portion for at least 2 people. We also got the Jag Cantina Street Corn, which was tasty, but the portion was gigantic and ultimately too much food for us before our entrees even came out. Not a bad problem to have if you are super hungry or with a large group, but for two people, it was too much. My husband also got a margarita with salt and he said it was very, very good. The restaurant itself is warm and inviting with some really beautiful greenery and decor in the bar area. I would definitely recommend this place - and get the guac!!
The Cantina is a great spot to go sit and have a drink, the building itself is a ton of fun and looks great inside. Ordered the White and Red Sangria, both great and also got the house Marg, it was a decent drink. For food ordered the Caso and Epinadas. The Caso was meh, but the Epinadas solid. Overall it's a good place, location is tough to get too and will probably end up being the nail in the coffin for it
Not sure if I would take kids again. I was definitely expecting the “classic” Mexican food like Agave Azul, but this one is very different. Nothing is basic, the flavors are very different. Empanada’s was my favorite plate.. Decoration is beautiful, service was great! Might go again to give the food another try..
