Tip: Enjoy the live singers that perform starting at 6 PM for a delightful dining experience.
After a day at the park we made an 8:30 p.m. reservation. We've always heard such wonderful things but to come at night was romantic and even magical. The ferry took us and they really do a great job making you feel like you've just stepped into Italy. When we got to the restaurant, every interaction was kind and intentional. We had the bread service, and then ordered calamari. It melted in our mouth. It was amazing. It was a very generous portion, way too much for two people. Our foods that come out a little quick. We had the carbonara chicken and the lasagna. He prepared to take food home. Another generous amount. We did mention to the waitress that the entrees came out way too quick. Giving us no time to recover. And although we said this joke in the, she did come at the end of the night with three mini cannolis as an apology for that. They had singers doing an excellent job. Singing Italian songs. Mama checked in on us frequently. The seating and ambiance was amazing. It really felt like a treat. Although we were dressed down, I could see us returning to celebrate something special.
This restaurant was phenomenal! The restaurant is sooooo beautiful and the service here is too tier! Everyone was so nice and very attentive! The food was soooooo good!!! OMG! We had two specials(Champagne, Chicken and mashed potatoes), 1 spaghetti and meatballs, 1 cheese ravioli, and 1 Chicken alfredo. Everyone's food was delicious!!! Good serving sizes too!! We also had the tiramisu for dessert! During our dinner we had a surprise to have live performance with a guitar player and two singers. They would go to each table and sing a song and it was soooo beautiful and amazing! Truly such an amazing night and I cannot wait to come back here! HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Love it. The restaurant’s vibe perfectly complements the hotel’s atmosphere. The bartender crafted an espresso martini with aged tequila that truly surprised me—in the best way. Between the food and the overall energy, the experience genuinely elevates the entire resort.
This has always been an amazing place. Great food, people, music, and atmosphere. We had a nice celebration and they helped make it even better. The chef came out and was amazing and funny. Thank you!
We celebrated my birthday here, and everything was wonderful. The food was delicious and very filling. The Caprese salad and calamari was especially fresh and flavorful. We chose from the fixed menu options, and everything was well-prepared and satisfying. I believe we’ll definitely come back again — I really enjoy authentic Italian flavors.
Mama Della's Ristorante at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel exceeded my expectations. The food was superb with a cozy atmosphere. The acoustic guitar player along with two amazing singers made us feel like we were literally having dinner in Italy.
Great experience. I would highly recommend it to someone looking for a nice dinner out. We ordered Caprese, Lamb chops and Veal Chop. Finished the meal with a Neapolitan dessert which was absolutely delicious.
We have been here twice and we really enjoy the food here. Homemade made from scratch pasta dishes in a warm atmosphere with great service. The gnocchi is incredible, clearly a scratch made dish made with great care. Singers came out at 6 and sang to the tables, which is a very nice touch. We’ll be back!
Lovely location overlooking the harbour with excellent service, good and tasty well prepared food and met expectations. So nice to just saunter over for dinner after a long day at USF and IOA.
Riquísimo y Excelente. Wonderful Italian restaurant in the Lowe Hotel. Love the Chicken Parmagiano.
Best Pasta I have ever eaten in the U.S.! The food was so incredibly fresh and very delicious! The entertainment is incredible and the waiters are very friendly. I highly recommend Mama Della's!

Dining at Mama Della’s is always a heartwarming experience. The food was delicious—classic Italian comfort with thoughtful touches in every bite. But what makes this place truly special is the atmosphere. It’s like stepping into someone’s home, and when you’re lucky enough to see Mama Della herself while she’s there, it adds that extra magic. Her warmth and presence make you feel like family. Great service, wonderful flavors, and a touch of love in everything—can’t wait to come back.
This is not just a place to get something to eat. It is an experience that isn’t always easy to find, so I suggest you take advantage if you have any interest in dining here. The bread service isn’t your everyday garlic rolls, but the whole presentation is incredible and it’s also still very tasty. Includes spreadable garlic and butter on the side. I was able to try the spaghetti and meatballs as well as the chicken fettuccine alfredo and they were both excellent. Good portions and tastes like quality ingredients. Desserts and drinks are great too. The entertainment is perfect for a dinner date or a family meal. I love this place. The people were really nice too. I would like to give a special thanks to Marline and Vianney for constantly keeping up with us. They didn’t miss a beat.
What an awesome experience at the portifino resort at universal. Felt like a date night in Italy. The food was delicious, prepared fresh, and the atmosphere was very nice. Had a few folks walking around playing music and singing. Too notch service and food that I would pay too dollar for and not much more expensive than everything else at universal. Definitely worth checking out where ever you are staying
We had a lovely dinner at Mama Della's at Loews Portofino Bay. After a long day at the parks, we were tucked away in a quiet corner and had a wonderful meal - we needed the carbs. Our server Junior was excellent! He was attentive, pleasant, friendly, and on top of everything! Kudos to him for being awesome at his job! The live music and singers were wonderful. We could not recommend this restaurant more. A-plus all around!
I have to say, Mama Della's absolutely delivered. Mama Della's EXCEEDED all possible expectations. I wish we would've went there twice and skipped eating at Bice the night before. Mama Della's plates were beautiful (I regret not getting a picture) absolutely delicious (That carbonara y'all) and the staff was accommodating, friendly, and welcoming. I ordered the Pollo alla Carbonara and it was rich, creamy, flavorful and absolutely delicious. My boyfriend ordered Mama's highly recommended Lasagna, and allowed me to taste it, I can see why. The flavors in there just burst in your mouth. We both enjoyed Papa's Blackberry Old-fashions and I do believe that has become my favorite. We were celebrating our anniversary and Mama's gave us Cannoli for with a little white chocolate "Happy Anniversary" sign on them. (which were also, naturally, delicious) Mama Della's felt welcoming and like home , but the food was absolutely amazing. Rich, vibrant, delicious, and just more then I could've hope for. The singers came by and serenaded us, our waiter was amazing and engaging and on point every step of the way. Given a choice, I'd give BiCE Orlando Italian Restaurant a hard pass, and just go to Mama Della's instead as many times as you can.
went to celebrate our 4 year anniversary and it was amazing to say the least! i wish i had gotten our severs name because he was amazing an very attentive. He helped us make our selections. The bruschetta was a MUST! The photo was no where near the amazing taste. The pasta was delicious as well. They have live music and the vibe in the restaurant is very relaxed. Absolutely loved Mama Dellas and would recommend to anyone!
This is a beautiful establishment with great ambiance, food and dessert! I was greeted by amazing hostesses and the service was so kind. I met Mama Della before leaving and she was so sweet and welcoming. Please come here for an unforgettable night.
Best experience I’ve ever had dining out. We went for Valentine’s Day and we got serenaded. We purchased the $80 per person valentines meal and it was absolutely so delicious I could not recommend it enough! Great staff, super friendly, and they give great suggestions on their wine selection. I truly cannot recommend this restaurant
Best chicken fettuccine alfredo I have ever had! Made from scratch pasta. Excellent service, authentic Italian experience in a cozy environment with a table serenade. Can’t wait to come back again.
Unreal. Forget the super fancy place (bice) if you are staying at portofino bay and go to Mama's. By far best meal at Universal so far. We went to Palm at hard rock yesterday and that was not even close to the level of service we recieved at Mama's. Not to mention the steak was actually better at Mama's. You even get your own Italian duo to come serenade you at your table. They gave us a free desert for our anniversary and made us really feel special. Our server Junior, was the best and really sent this meal over the top. I'd rate this 6 stars if I could!
Mohamed our waiter was fantastic! He explained every food item. The food was delicious. The singers came to our table and provided wonderful memories for our family. The Manager Gee stopped at our table several times to make sure the restaurant exceeded our expectations. Telling all my family and friend when they come to Universal Studios they must come here. So happy we did!
Wonderful evening... Fine dining at a high level, plus which obviously include great food an service, plus a bonus of a traveling menstrel that sings an song of your choosing, Amore was outstanding. Thank you to Mama (who also stopped at our table for a visit) , Mohamed and the team for a great evening of fun and fantastic fare. Highly recommend calamari, lamb and Salmon, gelato and sherbert were great light desserts.
Very romantic, great service and amazing food. My very favorite place to eat in Orlando. Lawrence was my server both times and provided a great experience. The Opera singers also add a great memory. Thank you Chef and staff for raising the bar for what I expect when I eat Italian cuisine.
Loved our perfect Valentine’s Day experience, from atmosphere, to service, and the amazing singers. The food was spectacular!
A rare 5-star review from me. I love eating here. I've only really had their pasta and every dish has been delicious and fresh. I've shared a bottle of wine among family and that service was professional and helpful. The staff are accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere is cozy yet still upscale like you're eating at your fancy Italian aunt's house. There's a fireplace in the main dining room (though I've never seen it lit) but no matter where you sit it's a nice experience. There's singers who go around and take requests so have some pocket money on hand. They are wonderful and have surprised us with songs they know. Cost is fair and as a New Yorker about what I expect. They honor reservation times and still found a way to seat us when my elderly parents had a hard time getting there on time. The only reason I don't go here every visit is I never want the magic of the place to dampen! 5/5 never change Mama Della's.
As a 200+ night very frequent business traveler, I eat out a lot. Mama Della's is Outstanding! Best I've had outside of Italy. (Chef is from outside of Naples, Italy...so he brings authentic expertise.) Started with the bread service. Both sour dough and the garlic infused french bread were great. The thin bread sticks were all gone in seconds. Next, the classico caprese. Fresh basil, with a very smooth mozzarella. Everyone enjoyed it. The fettuccine alfredo was surprisingly light, yet wonderfully flavorful. The spaghetti was very good, especially the marinara. The gnocchi was exceptional. As a "house speciality" as listed on the menu, it did not disappoint. Dessert must follow a meal this good. Tiramisu was perfect. Not too runny, not too dry, full of smooth flavor. The chocolate dipped cannoli was very good. Even the gelato was smooth and flavorful. (Strawberry and Dulce de Leche make a good combo after a hot Universal day.) Finally, the singer and guitarist added an appropriate touch of ambience and graced us with a by-request song that made the evening complete. Staff and service staff were very professional and polite. The chef made the rounds soliciting feedback, and was praised by every patron that we were near. What was a surprise was the overall reasonable bill. Just over $100 for 4 people (one plate split) with three entrees, appetizer, and three desserts. You need put Mama Della's at the top of your list when you visit Universal, or when you're just in the area. You will not be disappointed.
We just came home from the most wonderful experience this evening. I would give Mama Della's 10 stars if I could. Everything from the service, the food, and the serenading by the incredible performers was outstanding. Our meals were perfectly cooked and seasoned (if you're a seafood person you HAVE to get the seafood pasta!) and was extremely well timed. Meredith, our server, went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and well taken care of. We cannot wait to return to try more of Chef Leo's incredible creations. Whether you're on a UO vacation or a local, this is a must try. Thank you to everyone for a fantastic evening!
We had a large family celebration here. They accommodated us with ease. Food was fabulous. Service excellent. Restaurant is in Portofino Hotel. Reservations accepted.
This place has the most amazing food and is worth the price you pay. The filet was cooked perfectly; I mistakenly did not get a photo of the Chef’s Special which was a mushroom risotto with shrimp, but it was the BEST mushroom risotto I have ever had. The accordion player and opera singers came around and performed a song for almost every table that was there during the course of our meal, which was really fun to see (plus made the wait time go by quicker). I will 100% be back! Also, the parking fee might deter some people, but if you’re going for dinner, it is waived—you just have to get a ticket from your server.
Absolutely amazing. My wife and I have had some of our most memorable meals at Mama Della's. Mama herself is such a gracious and kind hostess. Everyone from the chef to managent to waitstaff are so pleasant. The mood and ambience are perfect for my family. The musicians that perform tableside are quite gifted, and love to entertain, it shows through each note, and also through their lighthearted and fun performances. The italian cuisine is an outstanding and faithful recreation of classic favorites. The chef's care and attention to detail is beyond compare. We have tried a new dish everytime, and everytime we leave amazed with beautiful artwork that we are able to explore with our tastebuds. If you are ever in the area, and looking for amazing food, and service, italian or not, treat yourself, it is worth every penny! Update: once again absolutely outstanding. The service and dinner was impeccable. Chef Leo is truly a master at his art. The staff as always was beyond reproach. They truly make for a memorable evening. Also, they spoil our kids! They have consistently went above and beyond each time. Another update. This is becoming an amazingly long review! I have rarely encountered the level of consistency that Mama Della's offers. We have visited more than 12 times at this point, and it has become a must visit every trip. The entire staff has continually went above and beyond and has made us feel so welcome and at home. Every single dish we have had is amazing. Every dish, it has never been "just good" they have always been amazing. The service is beyond compare. Your staff in the kitchen should make you proud for their attention to detail last weekend, Chef Leo. To Isabel and Lawrence thank you so much for looking after me this last weekend, and taking care of our family, we cannot wait to see you all again soon! I am adding a photo of the Baked Gnocchi, it was outstanding. Perfect pillows of goodness, a very nicely balanced red sauce, the Ricotta was perfectly rich, and who doesn't like bubbly baked Muzzi! Molto Bene! This may be a bit lengthy, but it is time for another update! It has been a few years of us travelling to our "home away from home." The last time we made it to Mama's, there was a new chef, as sadly, Chef Leo moved to another path in what I am sure will continue his amazing career! Isabel is doing the same, and I am sure that she will continue to be outstanding as always! While it is sad to see friends (that have become more like family) move on, We are still extremely happy for them and their futures! Mamas remains in good hands. Carl has taken the reigns as manager, and is doing a wonderful job ensuring quality and experience. Our last trip was tenured under a new chef, and the food was decent, but relatively uninspired and left us disappointed. However, this trip, Chef Al is now running the kitchen. The food was simply amazing, perfectly prepared, and the attention to detail was beyond reproach. I am so excited to see where Chef Al takes this menu, and continues to work some magic! As always our experience would not have been the same without Lawrence and Marlene attending to our every need. Mama welcomed us like family as always, and Nino is a truly gifted musician, and it is such a pleasure to here him play and sing. It is so good to be home!!! Thank You All for a spectacular evening! Latest Update... Chef Leo is back. So, I have reminisced about the food and really missed Chef Leo's artistry. After a while I started think maybe it was just nostalgia about how the food used to be..... So not the case.... Chef Leo can take the simplest of dishes and make them so amazingly. I cannot stress enough, get the special.... Whatever Chef Leo's special is... It will be fantastic!! Bon Appetit!!!!
Best experience I've ever had in a restaurant! The atmosphere is very relaxed and romantic. The singers that come by your table were truly amazing. The rendition of my favorite song had me almost in tears. The food was the best Italian food I've ever had. This restaurant is a must if you ever visit the area!
We came by for magical dining and were really impressed. The moment you walk in you smell all the delicious smells. We had Calvin as our waiter and he was great! Made sure to keep our food coming out at a consistent pace, all of it was delicious and plenty of delicious recommendations. We tried the pasta fagiole, bolognese and cannolis (not pictured because we jumped into them right away).
What a great place! The decor is so traditional and cosy, we loved it. Thank you Maria our waitress for the excellent suggestions and wine recommendations 🥰 We took risotto and lasagna (with extra parmesan on the side 😉💛) There is also a group of singers but like super talented with soprano voice, wow. Definitely recommend this place. Excellent cuisine
I avoid arriving at a restaurant at almost closing time because service might not be 100% and some items from the menu may not be available. This was not the case here at all. The food was excellent as well as the staff. We even got our own Soprano show table-side. They come to your table and ask if you want a specific song. I wasn't prepared for this so my request was probably the first Italian song that comes to most people's mind "Con te Partiró". The lady executed it perfectly 🥰. If you have a chance please visit this restaurant, we had and amazing experience. 👏 Everthing that we ordered was delicious, the Chicken Carbonara was my personal favorite.
We are staying at Universal Resorts for part of our honeymoon. Tonight we had an excellent experience at Mama Della’s. We made a reservation on Open Table and got seated right away. The food was good, the wine and drinks were good, they accommodated my dairy allergy, and we were even Serenaded by a trio of singers with a guitar. All around great experience for the resort stay. Lawrence was our server and he was excellent. Thank you!
Great Italian food at Universal! I've eaten here plenty of times and the food never disappoints. In my most recent visit, my party had the mussels and caprese for appetizers. I had the gnocchi w/ ricotta as a main entree. Mama Della nails Italian classics for sure. I also enjoy the desserts which include the tiramisu and chocolate torte. Service is amazing and friendly. A singer and musician rotate between tables to perform to you if you like that type of experience.
This was not only a delicious dinner, but an excellent experience as well. The romantic ambiance was set with dim lighting and a wonderful ensemble playing music and singing for guests around the restaurant. We were here celebrating our anniversary, and they gave us a complementary small dessert, and we enjoyed it while the ensemble played our wedding song live in front of us.
What a great experience! We came for a working dinner, but everything was fantastic. I didn't take pictures many pictures because the conversation was so good, but I did manage to get one of the dark chocolate flowerless pistachio torte. I will say, as someone who sang opera for 15 years... the singing inside the restaurant was too much. We had to stop our conversation multiple times until they finished. Lovely, but better for areas where the sound can travel out and away.
We visited Portofino Bay tonight and finally ate at MamaDella’s. You have to eat here! Oh my goodness, this is a wonderful meal bout also a great experience. The food was sooooo good. I had caprese & salmon and my wife had calamari and chicken fettuccini alfredo 10/10. Service was amazing. Mo and Mama both sat down and visited with us. Mo shared philosophy and Mama told us stories. This was so much more than just feeling welcome, They really made us feel like family. 10/10. The ambience was amazing. The decor is very nice, but comfortable. Not overdone. The music is nice, they even had fantastic Italian musicians at one point who did a song for each table including requests. 10/10. My wife and I agree this was our best date night meal ever. Thanks so much to Mo, Mama, and crew. We enjoyed every minute! Friends, you really have to try this place.
Mama Della's Ristorane has some of the best Italian food in all of Universal. Everything here is fresh and delicious. The service is top notch and the ambiance is very relaxing, plus it gives you an excuse to visit the beautiful Portofino Bay hotel. I highly recommend eating here.
Best spaghetti I've ever eaten in my life! Amazing service, wonderful atmosphere. Everything perfect! The only negative point: the calamari was too spicy for us. If it weren't for that, it would be perfect! I got a cannoli as a gift because it was my birthday. They were very affectionate! I love it.
Food: 5- I save this number for the cream of the crop. I do not normally get gnocchi because my best friend’s dad is from Italy and homemade is amazing. I tried theirs and it did not disappoint. My husband had the steak, another prime find. Our friend had the spaghetti and wanted a second serving. Service: 5- Upgraded from last visit! Very nice and “Mama Della” was a delight. All in all: 5- I never give a straight 5 rating but well earned! UPDATE: Went again and soooo amazing. We got the lamb and linguine. Don’t pass this place by!!!!
Best pasta I have ever had. Chicken carbonara. Clean, fresh, delicious and great serving. Mama Della is adorable and the singers are an experience in itself. We had calamari, chicken parmigiana, mussels, mixed seafood. All delicious. When it comes to service, Lance is an amazing server. His attentiveness and charm made our experience even more enjoyable. Compliments to the chefs and the service! We will be back very soon!!!
We came for a date night and from when we first sat down up until we left this was by far the BEST restaurant experience I’ve had EVER and I have worked in the food industry for years. I have been wanting to go here since I worked for Lowe’s back in 2015 at a sister property. I’m thankful that it didn’t happen until now so that I could truly enjoy everything like I did last night! I’ll be honest from the water lol to the food everything was on point. Server was GREAT he knew his food pairings with the wine and gave us really great recommendations while still being so attentive to us. The wine selection is impeccable from my experience we got a bottle and it went with everything we ate it’s a MUST try! Calamari was the best we had ever had and we eat a lot of calamari, it was so good they just melted in your mouth! They chose really great dishes to feature if you are doing Magical Dining. Food was nothing less than mouth watering. Hats off to the chef!!! The Gelato was like no other. To end the night we got a cappuccino and got to meet Mama Della herself, such a beautiful soul. We will be back sooner than expected after telling everyone about our amazing experience!
As someone who doesn’t take Italian food lightly, I walked in skeptical. I’ve spent years in Italy and my family are immigrants. This place completely surprised me. From the first bite, it felt like home. But what truly transported me were the live performances — the accordionist and vocalists moved through the room, taking requests and singing with such authenticity and heart that I found myself in tears. For a moment, I wasn’t in a restaurant — I was back in my grandparents’ home decades ago, surrounded by music, warmth, and love. I left feeling full in every sense of the word — in my stomach and in my spirit. A true hidden gem.
Absolutely loved the place! Took the water shuttle from City Walk and it was the best dining experience of our trip. From the friendly staff to the delicious food it was just a great time. Throw in some live music as they walked around singing to your table taking your requests to the good prices (especially for Universal Resort), you just can't have a better dining experience. The pasta tasted home made, bread tasted like it was right out of the oven, the sauce was more savory and not horribly sweet like most places, and the chicken was just a perfect balance of breading/cheese/sauce. I can't recommend the place enough. If/when we come back to the area we will go out of our way to make it back. Just felt like an old school family run restaurant focusing on good food and good times. Even sitting outside by the water waiting to go in made you perfectly fine with a little wait. you need to go, you wont regret it, especially if you are staying in/around universal. Everything just feels like a tourist trap money grab. This honestly felt so out of place in how authentic it felt.
This place is excellent. The atmosphere and service were both really good... now the important part... the food: The bread and garlic oil that gets delivered to the tables are fresh and tasty. The chicken parmesan was perfectly cooked and delicious. The pasta was al dente and the sauce was good. The spaghetti and meatballs use the same pasta and sauce mentioned above and the meatballs were perfect. Walking around the hotel after is a must because you'll be stuffed.
Went to Mama Delia's located in the Portofino Hotel during Magical Dining time. I had the calamari for the appetizer. Bad calamari can be chewy and rubbery but this was cooked and seasoned perfectly and was crispy and flavorful. I had the lasagna for the entree and every layer was perfect. My dessert was the chocolate dipped cannoli. One of the best cannolis I ever had was from the Cannolis King in little Italy in New York. This one was up there. The mascarpone and ricotta creaminess was rich and sweet and so good. Beside having very good food they had table side entertainment. A guitar player and accompanied by two singers singing Italian songs.
My absolute favorite Italian restaurant in all of Florida. What this is NOT is a cheesy wanna be Italian eatery in a theme park.. not at all! This is the real deal. Exceptionally GREAT FOOD at surprisingly reasonable prices. The wife and I look forward to eating here on every vacation, and will do that at least twice a trip. It is that good! The musicians and vocalists are outstanding. The food is world class. The atmosphere is perfect. You will love it. I highly recommend Mama's... and promise to you that the incredible Chef Leo and his team will make it a meal you will love. I'm going there again tonight... for maybe the 20th time.
We had such a beautiful dining experience tonight. The service was prompt and attentive. There were two gentlemen performing opera serenades while we ate. We requested Silent Night and, although the kind singer lamented he only knew one verse, it was probably one of the most touching renditions of the song I'd ever heard. His performance of Ave Maria was also incredibly lovely. Definitely would dine here again because the food was delicious on top of the live music.
We absolutely felt we had an authentic Italian experience. The restaurant is lovely and Mama Della greeted us and was so welcoming. The singers stopped by our table and serenaded us. The food was amazing! We started with a wonderful caprese salad to share. My husband had rack of lamb and I had the Branzino. So delicious! The lamb was perfectly cooked and the branzino on top of pasta with puttanesca sauce was the best I ever had! The highlight of the evening was our waiter Mohammed! He was so charming and personable. We really enjoyed the entire evening and will be back again on our next visit.
Surprisingly affordable for being a nice Italian restaurant near a theme park. The food exceeded my expectations as well. They have their own twists on classic dishes - resulting in an amazingly thin lasagna even though it's a tower of food. I had the Loup de Mar which was cooked excellently with a very complex flavor. They made healthy Italian taste amazing. The brushechetta is on some very fluffy bread - and the sauce is just amazing. Also always a perk when you get free dessert for celebrations. Wonderful service by our waiter, but the bus woman kept taking away our plates without asking. Italian singers in the restaurant are fun until it's not.
The culinary experience was exceptional; we thoroughly enjoyed every dish. Our group of five each ordered a different item, and we unanimously agreed that the food had a distinct homemade quality. While the singing can occasionally create a lively atmosphere, we found it to be a delightful aspect of our visit, particularly when the performers engaged directly with our table. Although the pricing is somewhat elevated, it is commensurate with the superior quality of the food, the outstanding service, and the unique entertainment provided at your table.
One of the best Italian restaurants I’ve tried since getting back from Italy! The show stopper was the veal chop seriously one of the best veals I’ve ever had in my life. My husband had the seafood pasta which was also amazing! Only sad thing is that you have to pay for bread but the food definitely makes up for it! I’ll be back next time I’m in Orlando!

Nice restaurant, fine ambiance, friendly service. However, during our dinner, we experienced a serious cold draft; check your seating
Mama Della’s is solid, and it exceeded our expectations. We loved the cozy and casual atmosphere. We ordered the calamari which was tasty and well seasoned, but the rings themselves were not crispy. The branzino with puttanesca sauce was fantastic - crispy skin, tender fish, flavorful rustic sauce with linguine. The chicken parm was solid - nothing stood out, but definitely good. We had to get dessert to go so we could get the kids to bed, and they gave us extra brownies and cookies. Service was great. This is a great option for Italian comfort food on the resort. We would definitely come back.
Well cooked dishes with reasonable pricing, the lamb rack can be less salty though. The restaurant owner is very kind.

Went here for our anniversary tonight. Our wait staff was on point and attentive. The food was great. The chef brings out the main course personally. So awesome. The singer and guitarist serenade you and can pretty much play and sing anything. His and Her voice were incredible . Dinner and a personal show. The only thing I'd change is the chairs. They have upholstered cushions that are short and not well padded. Definitely worth a trip back though.
Ambience: 8.46/10 (Very pleasant, inviting environment. Lighting was warm and area was spacious, and music was at a perfect volume. Could have used more to date and in sync color choices to enhance the cohesiveness. Yes, I know the theme would suggest otherwise, but the differing patterns threw off the overall aesthetic, place was a bit dusty). Presentation: 9.16/10 (Most foods were presented really nicely, especially the bruschetta. There could have been better aesthetically pleasing looks on the Lasagna, but otherwise it was nice) Food (The Bread w/ butter + olive oil gets a solid 8.97/10, it was soft and light. The butter was extremely hard to eat and unsalted. Olive oil was pretty standard, but the hot garlic in it really amplified it. Moving on, the Calamari was okay, maybe a 6.63/10, and that’s pretty generous. Didn’t have that beautiful crisp factor I was hoping for, also flavorless. The sauces were great. Next, the Bruschetta was AMAZING. Solid 9.31/10. Nice presentation, diverse flavors, great textures. I highly recommend; my only note is that I wish the bread had a bit more of a crisp to it. Lasagna, 6.48/10. Really hearty meal, nicely cooked pasta but not enough cheese and for an arrabatia sauce, it was bland and flat. The meat was nice but way overcooked. Gnocchi was pleasant. Firm which is a definite plus. Pesto sauce was creamy and not oily. Could have been more flavorful; I’d say a 7.92/10 is appropriate. Service gets a 9.73/10. The Chef gave us the food personally, waitress was kind, and the singing touch really amazing. We felt a bit rushed, hence the removal of some points. Yes I know that resteraunts can have good and bad days, but to me, this place gets a 8.3/10. Would definitely recommend
If it was based on service alone, I would give 5 stars bc our server Calvin is Michelin star quality. The food was okay. After a day in a water park, I will eat it. I ordered the fettuccini Alfredo, the sauce was a bit watery, the parmesan cheese was waxy. I considered the Carbonara, but thought it was odd that they put peas in there. Peas in carbonara is a red flag. That's like olives in Mexican food, that's how you know it's not right.
Giving 4 stars for ambience and service. Guitar players and singers come by your table. White tablecloth makes it fancy. Old Italian decor. Felt special. Food was not great. I can comment on the dishes: Carbonara: perfectly done pasta but super bitter. Taste threw me off big time. Was translucent and oily versus creamy and thick. Chicken parm: Best dish we ordered. Classic. Can feed 2. Rigatoni Bolognese: Plate was hot but pasta was soggy . It was more like a ground beef sauce with no tomatoes. Not a hint of red in the dish (see my photo). Big disappointment. Pros: there are $10 wines available Bread basket is dangerously good Ambience Price Cons: food was just ok
Overall: I wouldn’t go again. If you’re a foodie it’ll be disappointing. The Good: 1. Service is great (waiters & live music). 2. Ambience is a cute traditional feel. The Bad: 1. Food is okay. (We got veal chops, spaghetti and meat balls, tiramisu, pistachio cheesecake, and we purchased the bread service). The Ugly: 1. They charge for bread service. (It use to be free).
The people make this place, not the food. The experience is really good as the people are wonderful. A good wine list with some value items to find. The food is inconsistent... our calamari was chewy, the sauce was acidic for the chicken parm and lasagna which is a preference item more than anything, and the lasagna was fine (not bad not amazing) Some around us loved everything, we were a bit disappointed with the hype. Go and see for yourself as the experience is worth it to see if it is your kind of Italian.

Everything was too salty and the extra side of broccolini is tough, but the servers were very nice and the desserts (cannoli and tiramisu) were great.
The salmon was not my cup of tea. If you’re looking for a healthy option, it might be worth trying, but it’s not exactly a culinary delight. I wouldn’t recommend it again. Even the kids didn’t seem to enjoy their spaghetti and Mac and cheese On the bright side, the singing on the hand is incredible! They’re incredibly talented and put on an amazing show.
The atmosphere at the restaurant is excellent, with live music as a highlight. There was a gentleman playing the guitar, a tenor singing opera, and a woman also performing. They went from table to table, asking guests what songs they’d like to hear, which made the experience very pleasant and interactive. Our server, Youssef, was extremely friendly and attentive, adding a positive touch to the service. However, the food was disappointing. • My wife ordered pasta with meatballs, but the meatballs were not good, and the dish was served cold. • I had the chicken parmesan with pasta. The chicken was good, but nothing exceptional. • My son ordered the Alfredo pasta, which was decent but not remarkable. • My daughter ordered lasagna, which also fell short of expectations. When comparing, Brio, at the Mall at Millenia, offers far better food quality. Additionally, the reception staff were disappointing. We had a reservation for 7:45 PM, but due to a 7-minute delay caused by the boat, they asked us to reschedule for 9:15 PM. When we arrived at 9:15 PM, we still had to wait. The lack of flexibility and friendliness from the reception team was frustrating. In conclusion, the restaurant offers a charming atmosphere with live music and great table service, but the food quality and reception service were below expectations.
We came here for our honeymoon and now our 1 year anniversary. The quality of this restaurant has changed in a year. Their bread basket is always good. The bread is so soft and has cloves of garlic bake in it. They give you a bowl of oil, with cloves of garlic as well! This time we got the carbanara and the rigatoni. The carbanara was delightful and full of flavor. Not as creamy as i normally like it, but that's my preference. The rigatoni was bland and almost reminded me of hamburger helper. We mentioned twice (once at the front and once to our server) that it was our wedding anniversary, but nothing special was offered or done. (When we came for our wedding, they brought out dessert for us to share and it said "Congratulations" on the plate). They typically have a man with a guitar playing and singing and making his way around the different tables. We saw him when we came in, but he never came around to play for us. We were also seated next to a few rowdy crowds.
Great atmosphere and decent food. Calamari was fantastic! The carbonara tasted good but was too rich, with extremely bland chicken that tasted like it hadn’t been seasoned at all. It was in stark opposition to the pasta and made for a strange dish. Would not recommend getting a pasta with chicken because of that, but the other pasta dishes tasted more balanced.
Besides the great location and view, the restaurant was not up to par. We ordered calamari, carbonara, and lasagna. Calamari tasted like it just came out of the microwave and was not crispy at all. The main courses took an hour to come out (reservation at 8:30pm and our food came out 9:28pm). We were just waiting here sipping our water with the calamari and bread. Our waiter was super helpful and checking up on us. The waiter had to check on our food order to make sure it is not lost. The lasagna was a little bland and the carbonara was salty for our tastes. However, the waiter was accommodating and helped adjust the food.
"I recently visited a restaurant where the Chicken Alfredo was decent, but the Chicken Carbonara was surprisingly acidic. They definitely need to take some cues from other restaurants to improve their flavors."
Very nice staff, and also very attentive, however food was mediocre. Lasagna was said to be a "22-year-old recipe" by our waiter and he highly recommend. Sadly it was very salty and lacking. Chicken carbonara, the chicken was overcooked and dried out and the Carbonara sauce was also lacking resulting in the pasta being dry. The Caesar salad was tasty as was the pasta fageol. The portions are small and although I don't mind that the price should reflect it. It is a pricey restaurant avg $35 a dish) and if the quality was there I wouldn't mind as much. They also do NOT participate with the Univeral Orlando Annual Pass Holder discount while other restaurants at the Portofino Resort do, another disappointment. Sadly we will not return.
I gotta say, what a horrible experience we had here on my child's birthday. They forgot to seat us for 30+ minutes past our reservation, then it took forever for our waitress to come. Never gave us drink refills, and 2 hours for any food to arrive. The food was decent, but I would recommend everyone stay clear. We complained, but didnt seem to help, in fact it seemed like it got worse. I would definitely not eat here again, especially for the price.
Came here for New Year’s Eve with a large family reservation and was highly disappointed. We have been here before a few years past and was impressed which is why we chose to came back. However, this time it was much different. The spaghetti for the kids/ adults meal had a weird tang to eat, so much so the kids and some adults would not eat it. The bruschetta was literally one piece of burnt toast cut into triangles. And the carbonara has no sauce and was dry. For a $500 bill it was highly disappointing. It used to be an authentic feel and now it’s cheesy and gimmicky with the “upgrades” and a lady coming around to introduce herself as “mama”. I knew then it would be downhill!
The food & atmosphere were good. But our server and assistant server seemed to avoid our table. We sat at 8:15 PM and finally got our desserts to take back to the room at 10 PM. If you want a quick bite to eat this is NOT the place for you. The food was good, just nothing like my Italian Grandmother would make.

One of the worst experiences of our holiday! We waited over a hour for our mains and they arrived so late in the evening couldn’t eat it by then Also my main tasted like it had been left on a hot plate for sometime it was just a lump of congealed pasta and was revolting The at table singers was also not really what we needed after a busy day at the park but might just be a UK thing that we find this sort of thing a bit embarrassing as others seemed to enjoy it Overall very expensive for a disappointing meal
Had a reservation at 7:30 didn’t get seated until 8, didn’t get our food until 9:30. Receptionist had no clue what they were doing. Orders place after ours came out before our meal.
I have been coming here for some time with my friends and family. Celebrating Occasions and I truly enjoy the ambiance the food and the service accept today. I will still come back but I needed to share this experience as I sit in the restaurant with my family I was extremely disappointed. I walked in and I didn't feel the need to make a reservation as I already knew they would not be booked but Alicia the Hist stated that the earliest I could be seated is at 9pm as I arrived about 745pm. I spoke to my family and they said let’s get some cocktails at the bar across and wait for them to call on us. So I made the reservation for 9pm. Something told me to call restaurant and let them know if we could be seated earlier we would love to, again the restaurant had plenty of opened tables so I called and I got guest services. Wow, I didn’t get the name but she was amazing I explained to her the situation and she said don’t worry I can get you in immediately so she made an 8pm reservation. I walked back in to the restaurant and Alicia was present and I told her I was able to get an 8pm reservation and she found it and I asked her to cancel the 9pm reservation and all she cared about was finding out how this happened. I gave her the same information and she said. They should’ve never did that they are not allowed to do that we are overbooked and you will need to wait. All she cared about was how this happened and in the end this business is SERVICE what we do to make the experience happen and HOSPITALITY how we make our guests FEEL. I must say Alicia didn’t give me any service and forget about Hospitality I don’t believe she understands what we do. I believe and felt that she made me wait until 832pm to prove a point. I don’t want her to lose her job at the end of the day we are in the PEOPLE business and our Focus should be on exceeding the guest experience. Your guest services know what they are doing. The restaurant is great, the food is delicious, the ambiance is great, the live performance great. Alicia may know the functions of the job but I don’t believe she has the care for the people she is serving. It is 9pm now and my appetizer has arrived. Please steer away from Alicia and no matter what we believe make a reservation to avoid the wrath of Alicia
Overpriced, terrible service and food! I am surprised to see the over 4 🌟reviews, definitely if people think that’s good I feel bad for them. Never ever again and for that price definitely you can eat something really good in other place! 👎👎👎👎👎👎 The busgirl was lost and we could understand her language I believe was creole and the server never in our table, we had to ask for everything!!!
My family and I have been coming to universal for years and have stayed at Portifino Bay. We have walked into Mamma Della’s a few times and the service has always been poor so we never ate there. We decided to eat there tonight because everyone we asked said to go to Mamma Dellas and have the lasagna. We still had poor service tonight from the moment we walked in but decided to give it a try. The lasagna was not good and the sauce tasted like water, no Italian taste at all. Definitely do not recommend and we will not be going back anytime soon. Obviously others enjoy it but we did not, which is why they say to each their own.
I’ve been coming here for 20 years, and I’m extremely disappointed. My fiancé ordered a salad for $14 and it was the size of a side salad. It was tiny and underwhelming. Now they’re also charging $9 for bread. When I ordered a second round, I got charged again but without a refresh of olive oil, garlic, or butter. It’s ridiculous that they’ve raised menu prices by 50% while offering less. The atmosphere is nice, but it’s not on the level of places like Fleming’s or Ruth Chris, which provide complementary bread and salads. If they want to charge these high prices, they shouldn’t expect tips like they’re in Italy, especially with such a significant markup on menu items compared to inflation.
The appetizer was not as described. The antipasto consisted of large chunks of Parmesan cheese, six pieces of salami and prosciutto some olives and two mushrooms, the fig spread was very good.. The main course the rollatini did not come served with pasta so for almost $30. You get three rolled non-breaded burnt pieces of eggplant. also, there is no bread served with your meal unless you want to order it for an additional fee. Way overpriced for the quality and quantity of food.
It has been noted that this establishment, once frequented, has experienced a decline in its authenticity. The pricing seems quite steep, with bread costing $8 and a chicken Parmesan priced at $32, which many may find excessive. For those seeking a more reasonable dining option, Vivo Italian Kitchen at Universal CityWalk is highly recommended. They offer complimentary bread service and maintain competitive pricing. Additionally, Vivo is conveniently located at CityWalk, making it easily accessible while still providing a serene and romantic atmosphere.
