Always a good time and a safe space. There are 4 or 5 little bars, connected on the inside. Some indoors, some outdoor patios. Each has its own vibe. We watched and sang karaoke at one. Dance to the 80s in another and watched some sports on tvs in a 3rd. Always a good time. (and we're a mid 50s straight couple)

The culture just got a major improvement (in the way of the removal of a problem). The people are sweet now. They used to be much more harsh. That seems to have melted away for some reason. The bartenders subtly encourage reasonable drinking by actively offering water and giving away free popcorn. A lot of this was around before, but honestly, this place just feels better now.

to the nice man named Joseph he is a king sweetest man ever give him every raise and promotion he deserves it all. He kept my $700 camera safe and I appreciate him so much for that. He is the best employee ever I love southern nights.

Had an amazing time for my birthday. The line was super long, but it was smooth. Felt safe with security, especially Sebastian. The other security were awesome. Just didn’t get their names.

Its been a few years since Ive been here and I love the vibe being back. I can tell there have been some lovely changes. The attendance was a very balanced mix of LGBT generations and all in good spirit. Not like other gay clubs that tend to attract packs of bachelorette parties or groups of creepy predator types. I love that the security staff wear shirts labeled Safety with a shield. And the bartender serving me was real friend and recognized me amongst the crowd. All the music choices in the main room were on point and the DJ’s transitions were crisp. And of course its always a delight to see that Roxxxy is still hosting the nightly drag show. This really felt like a welcoming and positive place to come back to.

This is one of my favorite places to come when I’m in Orlando!! 1 suggestion- Tip Share on Thursdays because I tip BIG at the main bar and then I feel bad getting drinks from the other bars! Fix that 😅😅

I’m from out of town and found this place to be so much fun on a Friday night! It is a pretty big location with different rooms. There is different music playing in each room. The crowd was very mixed ages/races which made it even better! I think it’s the best gay club/bar in Orlando.

If you are looking for a LGBTQ+ club to have a lot of fun and drinks at a really low price! Southern nights it’s definitely a great place to do it! Drag shows, dancers, special nights and even all you can drink on special occasions!

I just wanna say that I had a really good time with the fellas and the ladies. It’s a really good place to go and just relax Monday. They have free HIV test testing in Popeyes chicken you have to check it out. It is the spot to be in Orlando on a Monday.

Always a great time. From Dive to Stiffys, and Southern; the music and drinks are top notch. Honorable mentions: Moses, Zee, Rob, Boom, Joel, Greg and Ramon. Thank you all.

They always ask for a tip for the drags at the entrance, though they haven't done any performances yet. Other than that, this is a hot spot for nightlife. All are welcomed here.

I’m 21 and I love exploring places and sharing my reviews, so of course I had to check out Southern Nights Orlando, one of the most popular gay clubs in the city. Honestly, my experience was super fun and memorable. The vibe here is amazing — full of energy, great music, and an atmosphere where you can really be yourself. I loved how inclusive the crowd was; everyone was just there to dance, have a good time, and enjoy the night. The drag shows were definitely a highlight for me. They bring so much talent, personality, and excitement to the stage. What I really liked is that the club has different areas — you can dance in one room, chill outside on the patio, or just grab a drink and socialize at the bar. It gives you options depending on your mood. I spent most of the time dancing, and it was packed, but in a way that added to the fun. Of course, when the place fills up, it gets pretty hot and crowded, especially near the stage. Also, the lines to get in can be long on the weekends, so my advice is to go a little earlier to avoid waiting too much. The bathrooms could be kept in better condition, but honestly that’s something I’ve seen happen in many busy clubs. Overall, I’d rate Southern Nights Orlando a solid 9/10. The atmosphere, the music, the shows, and the sense of community really make it worth it. If you’re visiting Orlando or even if you live here and want to enjoy a night out in the LGBTQ+ scene, I 100% recommend checking this place out. You’ll have fun, meet people, and create good memories.

I didn't eat at the venue but my friends and I had the most amazing time! There isn't anywhere like this in London, staff and crowd were friendly and Steven at the bar was welcoming and made us feel at home. I will definitely be coming back.

Had a great time, definitely get there early if you want to get parking (paid 15.00) arrived at 8:45 pm. **Bring cash**. Drinks are fairly priced. While inside.. it can get very crowded, as the night goes on. The AC (81 degrees) inside can't handle the number of people, so make sure you go get fresh air in the back terrace opening so you don't pass out. Left at 1 am due to overcrowding and unable to breathe in the main stage area. Need better ventilation and insulation. Fans can only do so much. Suggestion- Have the events play on the TV inside so others can watch while in other areas of the venue to avoid the over crowding in one place.

Truly a one of a kind club in Orlando Florida. It all happens here. Young, mid, even a sprinkle of older patrons can be found here. Drinks are amazing and truly show the mixology talent here. The drag shows are amazing bringing in beautiful Queens from all over Florida and even multiple states. They have the best showmanship of any show I’ve seen so far. If you are looking for a great time and amazing staff and nightlife, come out to Southern Nights!

Whomever the lone DJ was on Friday, February 13, 2026, needs to come back and runback exactly what he did! The dance floor never felt more electric than it did that night.

Fun and overall safe atmosphere. HOWEVER, be aware of what you're paying for! At the door, I paid $21.30 for cover as under 21 (half cash half card). The rest of my group, 3 others also under 21, paid using the same card and got charged for all 3 for $31.30. That means they paid about $10 each for entry, and I paid $20. I went back to the guy making the sales and respectfully asked why I was charged $20 and them $10 if we were all the same age. I don't think he understood what I was saying and said, "go try someone else." Is there a group discount I was unaware about? I didn't want to get back into it because it was only $10, but we were all in the same group, I just paid first. Anyways, remember it's always okay to ask about what you're being charged for, even if you get a rude response like I did.

There was a man that donned a leather dog mask and he walked around the club throughout the night with it on. Security made rounds but didn’t have him remove it. After the scandal with the owners having explicit entertainment of minors, I expected the security to be more proactive. I saw little change. I can only stay for a little bit because the music selections are inconsistent. In no specific order, the DJ plays a mix of rap, rnb, house, latin, or edm. It truly is frustrating when I’m having a blast for one song and then the next song is an entirely different genre. It’s time to change the DJ. The music is not curated — it’s shuffled. It’s marketed as ladies night. For me, once a safe haven for the girls, the girly pops, and anyone in the lgqbt+ community. At the time, I genuinely felt safe being in the establishment because there was like no other in Orlando. Gone is the unbothered girl who could twirl and twirl to the music all night without being preyed upon. Now, it’s a place that would spike up my cortisol…..so no longer my safe space. More and more hetereo men are infiltrating the space, standing on the outskirts — not dancing, just staring. I actually don’t feel safe and comfortable coming here. Why would a (straight) mannn be there? “Girls Party” was not built for them — and their presence feels intrusive, not inclusive. The space gets so packed. Maneuvering through the crowd, especially trying to get out of the dance floor or to reach the exits, was difficult. I felt the club was prioritizing maximum capacity over actual safety. The remaining original owner now promotes the club as “woman-owned,” like a shiny sticker slapped over deeper issues. But that label doesn’t carry weight when the work hasn’t been done to rebuild trust or restore what made this place feel safe in the first place. It feels performative — a branding choice, not a reflection of meaningful change.

White security guy hassled my friend because his wrist band was a bit crushed or as he called “tied together”. He got very upset and pulled my friend outside just for a bouncer to vet him. Ridiculously unnecessary. Find a better way to ID people, because a paying customer should NOT be kicked out. Thank you.

A member of our group got assaulted and hit in the face three times just for bumping into somebody while dancing. Our entire group ended up getting kicked out. Nobody in our group was looking for issues, nobody is looking for fights while we’re literally just trying to dance and have a good time. A grown man tried to pick a fight with a 20 year old girl who is barely 5ft tall just because they got bumped into while dancing. We tried to file a police report and they said they couldn’t do anything because we didn’t “record the incident”. Meanwhile there is camera footage and CCTV footage that they refused to give us. What is the purpose of police and security if not to protect patrons? This was all extremely disappointing and infuriating. I’ve been going to Southern for years and have never experienced anything like this. Security and police does absolutely nothing to protect visitors. Don’t think I will ever be coming back here. It is all on video, check the cameras. Who assaults somebody for bumping into them while dancing at a club? We explained all of this to security and to police and they did absolutely nothing. Meanwhile the assaulter stayed in the club. Completely messed up. This is supposed to be safe space. Shame on you Southern Nights. A grown man picking a fight with a tiny girl and yall did nothing about it, meanwhile nobody over here was being aggressive or trying to start any issues. Again, check the cameras. I’ll be sticking to OTR at The Ren. An actual safe space.

One of the bouncers scammed me out of my cash at the door because he thought I was bribing him. I was not, I thought he was taking the entry fee. He was being very confusing and pushy; and he mumbled when he spoke so I wasn’t able to hear what he was trying to do. He also denied it when I politely confronted him and just said “Go to the ATM if you need cash.” I didn’t even get in the bar. Never coming back to this place again

Visiting Orlando! Decided to go to this place after reading mixed reviews absolutely not the place to go to it smells really bad in there horrible customer service if you pay me I wouldn't go inside also serving alcohol to minors which I don't even know how this is allowed absolutely disgusting and I would make sure I would let everyone know. 👎👎👎👎👎👎

I strongly advise against visiting this establishment. I experienced sexual harassment by an employee, and after bringing it to the attention of management — including the owner — no meaningful action was taken. This complete lack of accountability reflects a disturbing disregard for customer safety and basic human decency. The venue itself is poorly maintained. The bathrooms are consistently dirty and unsanitary, and the bar area is equally unhygienic. The overall cleanliness of the establishment is far below acceptable standards. Security staff are untrained and unprofessional. Rather than focusing on patron safety, many of them engage in inappropriate behavior, including flirting with customers, which contributes to an uncomfortable and unsafe environment. This is not a place that prioritizes safety, respect, or professionalism. Until there are serious changes in management, training, and sanitation, I strongly recommend avoiding this establishment altogether. DO NOT GO HERE!

We come here almost weekly and just had an awful experience. Kaley refused my friend service for not saying “please or thank you.” Not only is this crazy, I clearly heard her say thank you. This is childish and even if someone didn’t say please or thank you, it’s inexcusable to be rude and talk to someone the way that she did. So disappointed in the service tonight and it makes us not want to come back and spend money with this business. All the other bartenders were great and the security is always awesome.

A
Alexandria M. Arlotta

I come here often and spend quite a bit of money here and have never had an issue until now. Kaley, the curly hair bartender that was outside on Thursday night was the rudest bartender I have ever met. Refusing service because someone “didn’t say please or thank you” is absolutely insane, considering i did say thank you. I tried to ask for a manager and waited 30 minutes before giving up and asking multiple different staff members. Everyone besides Kaley was great. We love Alex the security guard and quite literally all the other bartenders. Never have i had such bad service, and her drinks are terrible all the other times we’ve been there too. She should not be employed here because after asking around, it seems that the way I feel is pretty mutual to many other people, a telltale sign that someone is not deserving of their employment.

I honestly didn’t want to have to write this, but I feel like I need to say something. I went to Southern Nights for my birthday and while I was waiting with my friend, a woman walked past me and touched my chest without my consent. I froze. I didn’t know how to react in the moment, but when I tried to tell the security guard what happened, he looked at me with disgust and completely dismissed me. It was humiliating and honestly really upsetting. I didn’t feel safe, supported, or protected. This was supposed to be a fun night for me and instead I left feeling violated and ignored. I really hope this place takes things like this more seriously in the future. Everyone deserves to feel safe when they go out.

I am writing to formally report an extremely unprofessional and upsetting interaction I experienced at Southern Nights on Saturday night, 01/03. I am a regular and loyal patron of Southern Nights, which is why this incident stood out so strongly against my otherwise consistently positive experiences with your venue. While the majority of staff that evening were welcoming, professional, and fantastic, my interaction with the individual referenced below significantly detracted from the night. My group and I politely asked this individual for a photo, as we had observed her taking photos for other guests. Upon asking, she immediately responded “no” in a dismissive manner and gave a hostile, dirty look. I was intentional about asking respectfully and calmly, yet her response was unnecessarily rude and confrontational. The interaction felt targeted and, frankly, racially motivated in tone and demeanor. When I attempted to de-escalate the situation and asked her to calm down, she made it clear that she was aware of her behavior and did not care. The interaction came across as a misuse of authority and a personal power trip rather than professional conduct expected from someone representing your organization. Southern Nights has always been a space where I feel welcomed and safe, which is why this behavior was so disappointing. No guest should be made to feel disrespected, dismissed, or singled out, especially in a space meant to foster inclusivity and community. I hope this matter is taken seriously, as this individual’s behavior does not align with the values Southern Nights is known for. I appreciate your time and attention to this issue and trust it will be addressed appropriately.

This place is awful!! Me and my partner were in line for the bathrooms . This guy approached us and started to dance with me. He grabbed my hand and waved me to come with him. Silly me thought he was bringing me to a less crowded bathroom. He brought us outside . Grabbed our hands and ripped our wrist bands off . He then said”have a good night”. I was so confused . We were not drunk or anything. We were just standing in line to the bathroom. We sat there as we ordered a Uber. We watched him do it to MANY other people. We started talking to the people coming out . They said the same thing. They were in the line for the bathroom. He then takes pictures of the people leaving. When I walked up to get a picture of him. He posed , then went to tell the officer that we took a picture. We paid a total of $55 each. For what? There was a huge line at the door for people to get in. After reading some reviews I see that they do this that way they can have room for others to get in and collect more money. There needs to be something done about this.

There needs to be something done about this.

the bouncer on 2/14 didn’t let us back in and tried to make us pay again after we had already been in. We were saying bye to our friends while STILL INSIDE and the woman cashier singled us out and said we could not come back in. Love this place but hello ? We weren’t making a scene, we weren’t drunk or breaking rules. Make it make sense

Dear Management, I am writing to formally express my disappointment with the level of customer service I experienced at your nightclub. On my recent visit, I encountered behavior from your staff that was unprofessional and discourteous. Despite attempting to address the issue calmly at the time, my concerns were dismissed, and the situation was handled poorly. This significantly affected my experience and fell well below the standard I would expect from a venue of your reputation. I believe constructive feedback is important, and I hope this matter will be taken seriously. I would appreciate it if you could review this incident and take appropriate steps to ensure better customer service in the future. I look forward to your response and to seeing improvements that reflect a commitment to customer satisfaction.

I absolutely hate to write a negative review but I want it to be known that the cashier with long black hair absolutely had a disgusting attitude and is on a MAJOR power trip. I don’t know what possessed her to kick my friend and have him stand in line again just to pay AGAIN. Absolutely bizarre that the security staff were ALL on our side and ended up having to give up because “what she (cashier) says goes) I understand that it’s her job, but the lack of an explanation and absolute power trip of control was obscured. I have never experienced this type of negative dark energy in Southern Nights personally and am absolutely disgusted with her reaction and action of such UGLY behavior. Other than that, the music was great as per usual, the crowd was AWESOME and the drinks and bartenders were AMAZING as per usual. Absolutely NO complaints there!!!! I really like Southern Nights and hope that this was a ONE TIME instance and that the authority and power and TONE is reviewed of THAT particular cashier. ❤️

I’m a 44-year-old man who has been going to District Dive in Southern for years. Last night, it was extremely crowded, and while waiting in line, a couple of people in their early 20s tried to cut in front of everyone. I stood up for myself, but it turns out they knew the security guard — and somehow I was the one thrown out. They even called the cops on me. I’ve never been so shocked or disappointed. It’s heartbreaking, because I’ve always loved the bartenders there — they’re incredible people — but after this experience, I won’t be coming back.

If you didn't tell me this was a gay bar, I would have no idea. No style, no glam, and all grinding twerk and gangster rap like from an east Atlanta strip club. Probably spent all the money on your airport type security task force at the door. Been through less invasive of a search at the courthouse, to get into a dive bar in East Orlando 🙄 Been going here since it was revolutions in 08. Really gone downhill bad. They want $10 to park, $10 to get in, bartender couldn't really articulate any drink specials. Paid $5 for a single serve glass of canned pineapple juice from publix. Thanks buddy, 👌. Leaky roof, water all over the floor. Musty odor. Bathrooms that would make a truck stop spray some lysol. That wasnt a drag show, that was a sissy reacting another crappy rerrun of that show rupaul made. Bartenders might as well have just thrown a drink at me they were so unwelcoming, look like they go beat up a punching bag before they go to bed, hang in there honey. Busted chairs, what's left of them. RIP to gay Orlando nightlife. I feel bad for these 20 somethings that this is what they get for their night out. Do better. PERIOD 👎👎

The girl collecting the tickets was very rude to me and my friends. It's awful that they let such a rude person interact with the public. I always go out partying at other places and I've never been treated like this. They should be nice, and if they don't like their job, they should just quit and find another one. We are not to blame for their bad mood because of work.

Without a doubt, the WORST place I've ever visited. The lights stay on inside for 20 minutes. The line to get in is super long, the process is slow… I waited about 30 minutes, and when we finally got to the door to pay the entrance fee, the trans girl taking the money told us they don't accept Tap, only physical cards. We tried to talk to her, and she literally told us to "GET OUT." Luckily, the girl behind us was able to pay the entrance fee with her card, an action the trans girl questioned, saying, "You're going to pay them." Anyway, we got in after this unpleasant episode. They don't accept Tap at the BAR either. And the ATM they have is old. Since I didn't have my card, I couldn't even get a drink…

So I’m a regular there until allegedly I SA an employee that SA me. Nothing was done to the employee. Meanwhile this place let their security employees manhandle their customers. I’ve never felt so mis handled. I spend $$$ there all the time. I will take my business somewhere else. Go to Anthem downtown or Savoy better treatment.
