Tortas El Rey is a popular spot for authentic Mexican food, especially tacos. Customers rave about the flavor and price, but note it's a casual, outdoor-seating-only drive-thru. Expect a wait, but many say it's worth it.

We go here all the time. Have yet to go to a taqueria that does them better. Their tacos are always filled to the brim with meat, and always taste super fresh. My favorite is the Al Pastor tacos, but I also love the Carne Asada, and the Carne Asada torta. I could take a star away because they don’t seem to serve their tamarindo aqua fresca anymore for some reason but I won’t!
This is not your average tacos you’re use to eating from Taco Bell. If you’re looking for quality tacos 🌮 eat here. I ordered two carne asada (beef) tacos and two pollo (chicken) tacos. Had to wash those tacos down with a medium horchata(rice water, cinnamon some milk). All the ingredients were fresh. The tacos were hot and delicious. The horchata was perfect. Not to sweet. If you’re into spicy salsa it’s available upon request. Price: $2.45 per taco, $3.50 for a medium horchata. Total: $14.16 after taxes. The wait time depends. This is a local hot spot. I personally waited only 10 minutes after I ordered. But in the past I’ve waited 30 minutes when it’s really busy. Overall: would I order from Tortas El Rey again ?…Yes.
I love this place! The food was made to order and came out hot and was delicious! Definitely has that homemade taste. The sauces too! The person who took my order and the 2 people who helped me at the window were very nice. I received excellent customer service! My overall experience was awesome. I ordered a carnitas burrito and chicken huaraches…soooo good! The pictures don’t do it justice but the taste, price, and service definitely stood out and I will be returning.
I know they don’t need my reviews but oh my god this place is amazing. I was never a fan of Mexican food until my Bolivia friend introduced this place for me. How can their tortas be this perfect? Soft bread, juicy fillings with delicuois meat! And the agua fresca...I had hibiscus and tamarind, sweet and sour, so perfect. I am gonna try everything here.
Delicious! I had the carne asada burrito special and it was absolutely delicious! The burrito was very filling and I felt that the pricing was great! I cannot wait to come back and try their other menu items. They gave me a red salsa and green salsa on the side which were so sooo spicy and flavorful I loved both of them and finished them both!! Overall come to Tortas el Rey for delicious AUTHENTIC Mexican food!! 10/10 experience
Incredible food here and great price. Took a star for service and atmosphere because … well you don’t go there for that. The line can get really backed up if you’re going in with the Drive Thru but it’s WORTH IT (just make sure you bring a friend) also they updated their drive thru menu , check it out! A must visit! Not to mention they have dollar hardshell tacos with beans , lettuce and cheese. “Tortas” are sandwiches that are BOMB. The Flautas are also a favorite . Love Tortas el Rey!!!
These are the best Tacos in Orlando trust. Their meat is Full of Flavor and Spices, They're affordable, and they give you a good amount of meat. Go between 11am-2pm for their 4 Tacos and a med drink special for $11. I like to get 2x Chorizio Tacos & 2x Cabeza Tacos onions & cilantro. Add red sauce or green sauce ontop 🔥unbeatable.
Exactly the kind of taco I was looking for. Tortilla, diced onions, cilantro, protein and lime squeeze. Simple Mexican taco at its best! And hard shell taco for 95 cents? In 2024? Just ridiculously satisfying for its modest price and quality. I just had 4 different types of taco : carne asada, al pastor, chorizo and hard shell taco. Carne asada looked and tasted more like pan seared ground beef, but who cares if you are not even paying $3 for it? And the amount of meats (beef, pork and chorizo) were all in excessive quantity, so I ‘transferred’ some of these meats to the hard shell taco, voila I no have some meat tacos purchased at 95 cents! I am definitely coming back next to try something else. This taqueria is a jewel in the neighborhood.
Amazing place for authentic tacos! They are $2 each and worth it! I usually get about 4 and I feel pretty satisfied. They also have horchata which is delicious and some deserts. They have a drive through and about 6 tables outside for dining. Make sure you’re not driving too fast if you’re heading there because you can easily miss it. Other than that I highly recommended.
The service is pretty straight forward, on point and quick. The sitting area is outside the shop (no inside seating). The food is amazing. The tostada and the torta are very tasteful. For sure the Al Pastor from here is one of the best in the city What to order? Everything. My recommendation: - torta Carne Asada - tostada Al Pastor
Such good tacos! & at such an affordable price The only thing is I wish they would label the tacos because I can never tell which ones are which lol but they all sure do taste amazing
Fantastic food! Was our first stop after the airport based on recommendations and I'll be back again next time I'm in town. Definitely lived up to the hype!
Since I’ve moved to Florida it’s been hard finding good al pastor tacos, but this place makes me feel right at home. Best al pastor tacos I’ve had out here.
Authentic tacos, I think. My coworker, from Mexico, told me this place had the best tacos for the price in Orlando. He was not lying. Do yourself a favor and get over there. All the pork, carnitas and the other ones, are soo good and juicy. Don't be a gringo, get the corn shells.
The food is awesome! Service not impress. We didn't eat on the tables outside since was almost 11:00pm a d they were about to close and they turn off the lights where the chairs to eat are. But the tacos are to die for. I will order to-go. It's not a place to eat with the family.
Friendly and warm customer service. The tacos are delicious and they are very generous with the meat. Definitely recommend this place, will be back for sure.
I recently visited Tortas El Rey and ordered the chicken burrito with fries — hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The burrito was generously filled with tender, flavorful chicken, fresh ingredients, and perfectly balanced seasoning. Every bite had that homemade authenticity you only get from a kitchen that truly cares about its food. The fries were hot, crispy, and well-seasoned — a simple side done absolutely right. Service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere had that welcoming, neighborhood feel that makes you want to come back. If you’re looking for great food, fair prices, and consistent quality, Tortas El Rey is a must-visit. Highly recommended! 🌯🍟
Love the real authentic Mexican food sold here I mean everything is good the tostada the torta the burrito the tacos everything
Super duper cheap and delicious tacos! The al pastor taco is my favorite and was soooo good. The portions are very delicious and there is so much flavor in these tacos. Best tacos in the area!

Tortas El Rey is a new favorite. A wide variety of options to choose from, at affordable pricing. Everything is FRESH. The flavors are fantastic. They have options for the people who love or hate spicy foods. The taco salad is huge! Big enough for two people, but so good you'll want your own. The Carne Asada Burrito, Chicken Tamale, and Beef Taco were even better. If you try anything for the first time make sure to get it the way it comes, no substitutions or changes! You won't regret it. Everyone was incredibly sweet and the service was great. I highly recommend giving them a try if your in the area. There's just so much to choose from, I can't wait to go back and try more!

Best Authentic Mexican Food in Central Florida. Be prepared to wait but it's definitely worth it! I absolutely love this place!
The chicken is best in the tamales, which have the perfect amount heat and flavor. The beef taco is amazing, I had 3 and then 3 more. Finally, the price and location make it so convenient for local…

Tacos were good. Came from Dallas and was looking for authentic Mexican tacos. This were the best I found. Carna Asada were delicious. Tostadas…I really think they need to work on their salsa. Needs more flavor and to be more spicy. They are definitely not cheap on their meat. My advice, eat this tacos fresh hot. I recommend if you are looking real mexican tacos.
Outstanding food and as close to authentic as you can have in Orlando. We sampled almost everything from Tacos to Huaraches. All have been fantastic. The wait at times is long but worth every minute. Unfortunately, the Mexican food experience is not complete without a good salsa and the small portions they give seems odd. They barely fill 1/4 of the cup. Definitely a head scratcher and a waste of cups.
The chicken and steak taco were delicious and flavorful. The meat was well seasoned and the taco was packed with meat. The chicken quesadilla was cheesy and I wish it had more chicken but it was tasty. Loved the spicy salsa Verde. It was a great afternoon snack and I will return. Thank you for the delightful service.
Tried this spot for the first time and ordered 2 carne asada tacos at the drive thru. After 5 minutes, I got my food and parked nearby to try them. The 2 tacos came with small baggies of lime, as well as some sauces on the side. The flavor of the tacos were decent but I wish the meat wasn’t sliced so finely. They did have a solid amount of meat in the taco though. I’m sure I’ll be back but I’ll probably try another item that’s highly reviewed
We were so excited to try this place, but sadly were not as impressed as we thought we’d be. It is at an old checkers so same concept, walk up, order, sit down outside or take out only. The carne asada was almost shredded the meat was so finely chopped. The carnitas was absolutely the best, juicy, flavorful, wish I would’ve just gotten 2 of those honestly. The al pastor was so greasy, like to the point where we took one bite and couldn’t eat anymore. I got the tostada with carna asada, wish I would’ve gotten it with carnitas, the meat smelt a little off and didn’t taste the best so took one bite and skipped it. They do give you pickle veggies with every order, and as many as you want which is awesome, we got extra of the veggies, big plus for that. We ordered flan, they originally forgot the flan, I went up to ask for a refill, they informed me they don’t do refills, which is fine, but then I realized they forgot the flan they quickly gave it to us. The flan was amazing and I’m glad I realized they forgot it because it was one of the things I remember from here. Sadly we will probably not be back, as the food was just ok.
This is long and far the greatest , most authentic quick Mexican food in Central Florida. Best taco by far to anything outside of Cali and Texas. The prices reflect the authenticity to an extent. Been coming here for nearly 8 years and have yet to find anything in Florida to top them! Now you see a 4 star rating solely based on the location… they out grew this spot the day they opened. One way in , one way out… in the most literal sense possible, drive through ALWAYS to the street. They are quick but take it from a vet, order ahead online, park in a lot next door(doctors office in next plaza) and go to the walk up counter and pick it up. Don’t let the wait stop you from getting the best tacos around!

Great food. All very tasty. Extra charge for credit card....mildy annoying.

The food I can’t honestly give you an accurate description because everything was so spicy ,I wanted to step out of my normal shell and try something different so I ordered each taco for me and a friend , I’m thankful that I asked for everything on the side because my mouth was burning . I have a decent tolerance for spice but all of these were a tad bit overwhelming , you take a bite and it tastes like it will be regular then BOOM, the spice Gets you. I ordered off of Postmates and I was missing one chicken taco . That was honestly the only one that was not spicy ..and the tostada was amazing . I would eat that all day . Overall I probably wouldn’t go back .. I’ve tasted better. They also added an up charge of 1.60 because I asked for a side of Crema or sour cream .
Food is great, customer service is awful. Employer screamed at the top of her lungs so rude “hello!!!!!” So I left. The terrible customer service is insane and if it wasn’t I would go every day due to its right next to my job. Such a shame.
Wasn't all that we expected it to be. People hyped this place up way too much. Maybe they were an off day when we went. We had chorizo, chicken, al pastor, and carne asada tacos. The meat was missing flavor. We did appreciate the meat to tortilla ratio and the abundance of cilantro and onion on them. I would likely give them another try sometime but try something other than the tacos. I got the pineapple agua fresca And It was terrible. Tasted like watered down canned pineapple juice. This location literally looks like a revamped checkers which I'm assuming that's what the building used to be. Also, service was okay. It is not clear that you're supposed to order at the front window and pick up at the side one and the worker was a bit annoyed that we didn't know to order there. Overall, it was okay.
You guys are lucky I love Mexican food and there are very few ways to screw that up honestly! I like the location you've taken over and your company's redline design. I will be frequenting through here at some time this month, I'm not going to let you know when but when I do finally come here, I'm going to give you a chance to adjust this review accordingly. I need you guys to remain focused on your customers delivering smiles and producing good business on this strip. Thanks yours Truly Maximus B (⭐+💜)

It was our first time there. The line was long, which was fine. We were still one car away from the menu when an employee came outside to take orders. Since it was our first visit, we ordered 1-2 items assuming they had them. When a car pulled away, we politely asked to move up to the menu to look to order more items, and the employee rolled her eyes and was rude about it. She was rushing our order as well. Then our friend ordered and clearly said three times that she wanted the special (burrito + drink). The employee never asked what drink came with it, so we assumed it would be the same as the first two drinks. When we got to the window, the third drink was missing. We asked about it, and the employee rudely said we didn’t order the special even though she had repeated “the special” back to us at ordering???!!! We were polite the entire time, and it was disappointing, especially since we drove almost two hours to visit.

The steak tacos would be good if they changed the meat. The steak is like philly meat. Grew up in chicago where mexican food is great all over the city.
Lots of hype for just okay food. The torta was meh, was expecting so much more since it's the namesake. The tacos were nothing to write home about. The sope was also just okay. The best thing was the hot sauces. The staff doesn't come out to clean tables, and many patrons, unfortunately, don't clean up after themselves, so the tables stay dirty. Wouldn't come back or go out of the way to come here.

3 tacos and fries was $28.00. The food was basic at best. Don't waste your money there's much better places close by. Nothing like it used to be. Seriously disappointed. I won't go back. I suggest you don't either.

Ok. I don't usually make reviews but this one I wasn't bad enough that I have to say something. Food was lacking flavor tacos were over packed. I really don't know anything else cuz I had tacos but I didn't even finish the order that bad ..
One of the worst carne asada burritos I have ever had in my life. I rather eat Taco Bell. Save your money. These TikTok influencers lie through their teeth. I hope the money was worth. I just threw away half a burrito. Gross.
The food is as terrible as the customer service. They get angry if you ask for napkins. We were a group of four people, and they served the food one person at a time, so we couldn't eat together. This is a disaster. The food is nothing special, and although the cashier, who also didn't speak English, treated us well, we ordered our food without onions, and they still put onions in it. I won't be back!
⭐☆☆☆☆ Absolutely awful. As people who lived in a border town for nearly 15 years and truly know what authentic Mexican food tastes like, this was one of the most disgusting meals we've ever had. We were staying near Disney and made the mistake of driving 30 minutes to Tortas El Rey because of all the hype on social media. Big mistake. Let’s start with the so-called “famous” $1 ground beef tacos. What a joke. Each taco had about one cent's worth of mystery meat—if you can even call it that. The rest was a bland, mushy potato filler. They were gross, plain and simple. We each took one bite and tossed them. Next, we tried the carne asada tostada. Dry, bland, forgettable. Easily a 2/10, and that's being generous. The meat was chewy and poorly seasoned, with zero depth of flavor. Then came the worst part: the al pastor taco and tostada. What on earth was that? A greasy, slimy mess of meat-like mush that tasted absolutely nothing like al pastor. It was unidentifiable, unappetizing, and honestly, inedible. We couldn't even finish them. We were shocked this place has any following at all. If this is what social media is hyping up, people seriously need their taste buds checked. Tortas El Rey is all gimmick, no quality. If you’re looking for authentic, delicious Mexican food—this ain’t it. Hard pass.
Called for take out, so didn't check until we got home that half the orders were wrong. Asked for carne asada sopes and got carnitas instead. Asked for no jalapeños and no onions on a torta and it was full of them. Called to at least get a refund on those 2 items since the tacos were correct but they wanted me to bring the food back. I offered to send photos since it is not close to me but demanded I bring the food back. My daughter pregnant and already has a hard time eating with being nauseous. Tried to dig out all the jalapeños and onions but she couldn't even stomach the food. I understand restaurants needing proof that the order was incorrect but I tried to offer the photos but their policy to return the food when it's only going to get thrown out since I already took it just seemed over the top. I didn't want a refund on the whole order just what was wrong since again they are far from me.
I saw a review on tik tok so I came to check it out. I purchased tacos and nachos. The Nacho chips were super hard and we trashed them. ( I'd compare them to a overcooked Pita chip) The tacos had a weird onion, potato and meat mixture. Personally for me & hubby not pleasing. The employees were nice. Seating is outside in the heat. You can enjoy the exhaust from the drive through and people parking while you eat. Would I go back? No.
Garbage I got steak, ummmms this is not carne asada fail just eat here cheaper and authentic Taqueria Ameca (Jalisco)4400 S Orange Blossom Trl, Orlando, FL 32839

This place shouldn't have a drive-thru to be honest they are not ready or capable to be fast enough for the amount of cars they get and the time to get the food. I waited 1hr for my food that's like more than in a restaurant. What a waste of time and the food wasn't good. The tamales don't have flavor. After waiting for 1 hour and seeing how other cars behind ne got their food before me I asked for my money back and a they didn't want to. After 5 more minutes asking for my money they did a miracle and had my food ready. Awful NEVER AGAIN.
