Arrivato per caso con un amico, siamo accolti dalla grande cortesia della famiglia Caserto. Nonostante i pochi tavoli siano quasi tutti occupati, ci servono da bere subito senza farci attendere. Il menu promette bene quindi ordiniamo come antipasto una porzione di insaccato cotto e salame, e un piazzo di melanzane al forno. Entrambi ottimi. Da segnalare la bontà dei salumi, di loro produzione. Di primo riceviamo degli agnolotti burro e salvia e degli gnocchi al pesto. La leggerezza degli gnocchi fatti in casa è da applauso. Infine esageriamo e chiediamo una tartare e un ossobuco. Pura poesia. La qualità della carne è impressionante, ve la raccomando. La tartare è condita leggermente, e meglio cosi perchè se ne può apprezzare la grande qualità, la mancanza totale di grasso o nervetti, il gusto eccellente. Come spiega Corrado, si rifornisco a Ovada da un eccellente macellaio che tratta solo carni locali di qualità eccelsa. Non c'era più spazio per un dolce, mi dispiace. Ma raramente un posto senza alcuna pretesa mi lascia cosi felice e soddisfatto. Complimenti alla dedizione di questa famiglia che crea un luogo ospitale, famigliare, con un cibo semplice ma di estrema qualità. Bravi!
