We had breakfast on the patio. Everything was prepared perfectly. The rosemary potatoes were delicious. Good coffee in a carafe on the table. We will be back when we are in the area.

This atmosphere is amazing! The food was plenty and all had great flavors! Portions are shareable! Literally delicious food!

Choice between hash browns or country potatoes, go with the country potatoes, you won't be disappointed.

We are traveling, will definitely stop in again next time. Looking around as we walked in, all meals looked great. Best breakfast I've had in a while. Loved it

Service is excellent... extremely nice staff. Extremely clean. Variety is really good. My family loved it. They will definitely be go back. My parents said it's now their favorite place. Prices are extremely reasonable. Breakfast for 5 with coffee under $100. They've added new items to their menu. To many to mention. Owner is very very nice. He makes you feel like your a part of his family. Update as of April 2024. New staff working Isabelle and Alicia are very very attentive and polite. Service was slowly declining but these two waitresses reassured me of my high rating for this place. Will be coming back again soon.

We LOVE coming here for breakfast! The service is exceptional and food is terrific :) You will be greeted with smiles and seated quickly. I recommend the Chorizo and eggs. It can get a bit loud inside when its busy - so we sit on the patio on those days. The owner is usually onsite and will come by and ask if everything is okay.

Fantastic. I did my homework, and picked the right spot for my morning drive north. Really good coffee served hot but at the right temperature. Fabulous service where they take their time, listen and then make sure what you ordered was what’s delivered. The mini combo with perfectly cooked bacon, eggs with onions and pancakes with pumpkin spice (I added blueberries) were perfect with just the right amount of everything and oh, so tasty. If I’m in Oxnard again, I’d go back.

The Downtown Cafe was a great experience the server I had was excellent. The food came out hot and prepared to be eaten. Every table has all the condiments that you will need for your meal which I find very convenient. Only reason I gave the food 4 stars is simply because I wish restaurants would go away from these chicken tenders and actually give whole wings with the waffle. Completely different taste as well as texture would take that meal in a new direction.

I have had alot of eggs Benedict in my life. But this was probably the best I have ever had. And our server Andri was so nice.The price wasn't bad at all. Definitely 10/10 best brunch. ;)

My daughter was excited to visit this spot after a long day of shopping at the outlets. They have a nice little spot tucked right in downtown Oxnard. They have a great menu with a huge variety of different breakfast options, sandwiches, Mexican food entrees, all kinds of dishes. I wasn't really hungry (with that being said, don't judge the amount of food I got ) I ordered the birria de jugo and I'm so glad I did. Amazing! I loved everything about it! Slightly spicy broth with incredible flavor and big nice chunks of tender meat, so good I also ordered a short stack of the mazapan pancakes. Super good, cooked perfectly. Great service, excellent food. I'll definitely stop by next time I'm passing through, or even making a special trip to visit, this spot is definitely worth it! Remember to show up early as they close early.

For starters I ordered a Cafe de Olla and it was served with a small Pan Dulce. The Cafe was amazing. It delivered that true traditional Cafe de Olla flavor with spice and sweetness. For breakfast I ordered the Poblano Eggs Benedict. Right off the bat, the plate looked delicious. The explosion of flavor was out of this world. They were perfectly poached eggs, poblano, peppers, shredded beef, and topped with a delicious creamy and savory hollandaise sauce. The beef was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and very tender with bits of burnt ends. The poblano peppers were smoky and delivered a small hint of spice. I got them served with a side of house red potatoes that included roasted onions, and bell pepper. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They were the perfect combination for the eggs Benedict. Lastly, the service was great. The staff was very attentive and checked on me often.

I went with the Chile Verde Omelete on her recommendation and it was fantastic. My wife had the Veggie Omelet and then later asked for some Chile Verde sauce on the side as it was so tasty. The owner came out and greeted us and shared a bit about this being a family-owned restaurant. We will definitely be back.

It is off 5th in the theater area, so it can be a little busy, but it is a breakfast joint. So their hours are eary in the morning before the theater opens. SO enough of that, and let's start reviewing. SO I love food, as we all know. This place has something for you. I was able to get a traditional large American breakfast with a café de olla.. Wow, my food soul was instantly reaching for joyness. We also ordered pancakes very fluffy and melted in one's mouth. My family ordered eggs Benedict, and extra crispy chicken wings, delicious my friends. So this place has my vote. Go judge for yourself. Remember, make your food soul happy and God bless you all

We visited this new spot as "first timers" on a Sunday after church. The location is nestled in downtown Oxnard in the string of eateries near the Plaza movie theaterWe were so intrigued by the seasonal menu, that we didn't even open their regular menu! My boyfriend and I both ordered the Lobster Benedict that came with your choice of home-style potatoes or hashbrowns, 2 Benedicts with lobster chunks, spinach, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce over an English muffin. We asked for extra hollandaise. :) The food was delicious and arrived at our table fairly quickly. The eggs were poached on the harder side, so if you enjoy a really runny egg, asked for it to be poached soft. What stood out was the AMAZING attention and service! The owner, Mr. Lopez, was personally walking around checking on customers in a very engaging way. We ended the meal with an amazing cheese pastry with guava topping. This pastry is made in-house and was soft, with the perfect blend of creamy and sweet. If you can't fit one in, you'll definitely want to take one to go! Overall, it was a great dining experience. We'll definitely be back to check out their other breakfast offerings and maybe their dinner menu as well.

Can't wait to bring my family here so they can try the Poblano Eggs Benedict and the Machaca & Eggs! You know the cooks are top notch when you don't need to add salt & pepper to your food - they season it expertly! Great cup of coffee too! So glad we have this little gem in Oxnard! Had breakfast with our group cpl of times. My Vegetarian build your own Omelette was perfectly cooked and moist. They offer a huge menu. The store managers hosted a fundraiser for the A.I.M. Academy which was very successful. The crowd was note worthy Community leaders, teachers, students, and V.I.P. guests. Sundays are busy so arrive early.

I am the type of person who does not like to try new restaurants. I like to stick to what I know, but I am so happy that I decided to try this place. The service and staff was the best! mind you this was a Saturday afternoon and they were busy and I got my food very fast. My server Denisse was so sweet and kind! she was very attentive. I can’t wait to go back, Btw the iced coffee is so good and I love how there’s a whole Espresso bar too!

If you haven’t tried the red tamales at Downtown Cafe, you’re seriously missing out. They are new on their menu They are hands down the best I’ve had anywhere , super flavorful, with just the right amount of spice, and the meat inside is always tender and perfectly cooked. The masa is soft and not dry at all (which is hard to find!). The whole place has a chill, welcoming vibe, and the staff is nice, I’ve tried a few other things on the menu and they’ve all been great, but the red tamales will keep me coming back. Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area. Tamale heaven. 🙌🌶️

Always busy, but service is quick. Never had anything here that I didn't love. Parking is a challenge...be ready to walk off your meal.

My husband and I had the Eggs Benedict and Bloody Mary's. The Benedict was really good, the Hollandaise sauce was perfect and the rosemary potatoes were delicious. Unfortunately the Bloody Mary's were awful, honestly the worst I've ever tasted. Which is too bad because I would've liked to return but I've got to have a Bloody Mary with brunch.

Loved their food, not so much their service, too bad we moved tables from Alejandras side to Jasmines side. I asked for extra hominy on my pozole, didn't get it, Asked for flour tortillas, got corn, didn't get a spoon for my pozole had to use the small one from my coffee. They got me flour tortillas, about 20 minutes later after I complaint, by this time I was taking my last bite of food. However food was good!

Very very lovely place! Clean, attentive staff, friendly! My mother and I enjoyed our time there and would recommend this to anyone! The only complaint I had was the fruit I got, the strawberries tasted like perfume or soap. Very odd. Other than that everything tasted delicious 😋

Bacon and sausages were cold. It’s easy to heat them up I’m not sure what happened. My wife sent back her crepes. Not at all good. My over easy eggs were done perfectly though and the service was good.

Secondly their soda machine did not have enough carbonation and could coffee was cold too. Probably best to visit on a weekday when it’s not too busy? Service was great awesome waitstaff but yeah downside was definitely food temps and we never got offered any refills and once our food came out the waitstaff didn’t really check on us until it was time to get the bill.

I’m only giving it two stars dedicating one to the person who was trying to do something nice for me today considering it’s Mother’s Day . The idea of this place is adorable and so were the waiters they were nice . Maybe it’s because it busy but the quality of our food disappointed . The sampler apps came way after our food and They were cold accept for the chicken tenders the marinara sauce was cold and sour . And the mozzarella sticks were cold the onions rings were tasteless and filled with oil. My sandwich was soggy the fries were good . Probably the only 10 out 10 .

Was expecting more from this place Wide green chilaquiles salty Sons eggs felt like they where not fresh but from liquid carton ones I got red chilaquiles with ribeye 6.5/10 Empanada Argentina potato and beef was definitely frozen for a while cause that’s what it tasted like almost 🤮 after bite Won’t definitely not be coming back My experience

We had a party of 7, hostess said it would be a 20-30 min wait. We understood we had a large party. After over 30min we finally got a table. We sat down for over 5 min and none of the servers acknowledged us, or had to courtesy to tell us we will be with you in just a moment. Over 5 servers passed by and nothing. So we decided get up and leave us we never got any type of service. The waitress need to be trained better! We will never go back! Definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND! Don’t waste your time and money go somewhere else. They don’t even deserve a one star rating.
