I came here for a mini solo vacation to go to a NBA game. The hotel is right across from crypto arena! The hotel staff is super friendly & very helpful. There are lots of great restaurants within walking distance. Sure the traffic/sirens can be loud, but it doesn’t bother me. You’re literally DOWN TOWN, that’s what happens! 10/10 recommend this hotel
Their rooms are spacious for the price, and they have a good team overall, especially the staff and receptionists. However, the most polite and respectful employee I encountered was Tony. He truly stood out. Even as a team member of the hotel, he works incredibly hard and goes above and beyond. He even covered the bill for my laundry, helped fix the washing machine, bought the soap, and provided the quarters at no charge. Tony, kudos to you. With your work ethic and attitude, you’ll definitely have your own hotel someday. As for my overall stay, it was very good. :)
First I want to say Cesar the valet manager is amazing. He has great customer service skills and is a true asset to your hotel. The hotel view was amazing, the faucet in our room was very fragile (819), they don't have microwaves which is a huge inconvenience. I feel like I was scammed by bartender who did not offer the 20% off discount on our drinks because we were guest at the hotel. He did however charge a 20% gratuity and was tipped. So be careful. It was my first time in LA and sometimes when your excited about vacations people sometimes take advantage.
Best Boutique Option for the Crypto Arena / L.A. Live My first boutique hotel experience, and I was genuinely impressed. The location is unbeatable; the Crypto.com Arena, The Novo, and the Convention Center are all directly across the street. This makes it ideal for anyone—especially Canadians—coming in for the World Series or any major event. The hotel itself has a fun, retro rock-and-roll vibe. Rooms are spacious for two, the bathroom is spotless, and the water flow in the shower is excellent. The staff is truly amazing—check-in and out was super easy and friendly. The only drawback is the cost of food downstairs (four dollars for ramen, $11 muffins), which is very high, even for L.A. However, you are paying for the prime, quiet location right next to the action. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel for a convenient, stylish, and quiet stay in Downtown LA.
PROS: Great hotel next to the Crypto Arena for concerts! Was very affordable compared to other places, the room was clean and spacious, staff was friendly, great breakfast, nice hotel. Bryan was great over the phone and Gina in the front was extremely nice and helped us check in early. Kenny the bartender/server on the second floor was phenomenal and we loved that lounge area. If you fly to LAX, you can go to the pink shuttle spot and get picked up by the metro connecting shuttle bus, go on the K line towards the E line (expo/crenshaw), and take E Line towards Atlantic, and get off the Pico stop. the pico is a 7 minute walk to E-central hotel. cost less than $5 compared to a $50-70 uber!! CONS: our key cards would stop working and we would have to get them reset. loud music on i think the rooftop on Friday and i assume weekends. The bass was BOOMING until around 3am on our room on 8th fl. Would recommend white noise or headphones if you stay on weekends because this did not happen on Thursday night. Bigger shower head has weak pressure, but luckily the small detachable shower head has great pressure! EXPENSIVE items in the lobby shop so if you want water (we bought 2 smart waters and a coke drink for $28) i would suggest grabbing it from the gym on second floor or from the server during a meal even with these cons i give the place a 5 star because this did not change the fact that it was a great hotel to stay at!! Would stay again!
The location is ideal for access to L.A. Live, just an easy walk across the street. The room we had was spacious (for 2 adults and 1 child) and the staff were all friendly and professional. I would have preferred that we have the option to self-park for a lower fee, rather than being required to use valet parking ($60+/day, in and out privileges), which is why I give it 4 stars. But overall, it was comfortable and convenient.
I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at E - Central after looking at the rest of L.A. I didn’t know what to expect because you know how it is. The pics always look better than the actual place, but this place looked like the pics. It was a nice room. We prefer no carpet on the floor though. (I saw a suite while the cleaning crew was cleaning and it didn’t have carpet NICE The shower was a bit odd. It didn’t have a door and the shower head was detachable but the water pressure was fine and it stayed hot even through my long showers. The staff were extremely helpful and nice. THEY CLEANED DAILY. YAY! The valet crew was wonderful. They gave us plenty of water also from the front desk I enjoyed the fitness and yoga rooms. The channels turned quickly using the remote which was refreshing. Be prepared, however, to pay $60 every night for parking because there are no over night parking spots around. Also be prepared to pay an EXTRA $35 per night for fees. It was a rude awakening to find that out when we arrived because they do not specify any of that in their emails prior to coming.
Perfect location for catching the lakers game. Although the room was dusty and needed more than a basic clean. I will stay here again for the lakers game!
It’s 10:30am For Breakfast there is no water , I was instructed that I had to go 1 floor down to the lobby to get water myself after being charged to the room. It makes no sense. And BTW breakfast it’s till 11am and it’s closed
Nice hotel and very well located. Unfortunately, the valet parking service was terrible. The staff had a very rude and arrogant attitude, which was a shame because everything else about the hotel was good.
The hotel is in a prime downtown location and that’s the only reason i’d stay here. The rooms are standard, nothing special. Doesn’t offer any amenities (at least that’s what the receptionist said) other than a gym that’s a few blocks away and always packed because it’s public. The receptionist that checked us in said it was one price and turned out to be another? When I asked him about he it said “yea the deposit is obviously a separate charge” but when he charged me I was under the impression that the deposit was already included in the charge. Not necessarily a problem but I wish he would’ve just been transparent with everything first rather than have me come back down to ask. It’s a pretty mid to below-mid hotel. There is definitely better hotels to stay at with similar price points and more to offer.
Homeless, drug sales, dirty. They charge 60.00 plus tax to park your car. Our TV didn't work, didn't feel safe. We thought being downtown and next to Grammy Museum hotel would had been better. Cost was over 250.00 so not cheap either.
The room was clean and the staff was friendly. My only gripes are the food being very pricey and the added fees upon check out. I didn't agree with the incidentals charges even for no damages. Outrageous in my opinion.
I’ve stayed at E-Central twice now, the location is amazing but the music from the surrounding buildings as well as their own personal parties play until 1 and 2 AM! There is little to no soundproofing in the rooms already and the music outside is crystal clear until those early hours of the morning. Would not recommend because of solely this reason, even though everything else is great (location, rooms, etc) the loud club music was too obnoxious even extremely late at night.
Listen to the 1 star reviews complaining about noice. I am here on business. There is concert level drum and bass basically every night until 2am. I am on the 7th floor, you can here it in the hallway and it's way too loud in the rooms to ignore or deal with with sleep aids like earplugs, etc.
As many others have said, bar/nightclub next door blasts music with heavy bass until 2am. Impossible to sleep until they shut down. Earplugs, noise cancelling headphones, fan on, nothing will drown out that bass. Will never return to this location unless that bar/nightclub shuts down.
Service is awful, breakfast is horrible and the place is uncomfortable to sit. It’s way better to just go to the Starbucks around the corner. At night there’s a karaoke place going on until 2am.
Location was great! Stayed to go to a concert at Crypto. However they placed my daughter and I in a hotel room over a nightclub and failed to disclose this information. So we ended up listening to the thumping beats of the neighboring club until 4 AM when I asked to talk to the manager they gave me a card and then I emailed and nobody ever got back to me. I understand you can’t move a club but the very least you can do is notify the guests and let them know that that’s what they should expect.
Extremely Disappointing Experience – Unprofessional Staff, Billing Issues & Poor Maintenance: My stay at E-Central Downtown LA started off fine, but ended as one of the most frustrating hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The location is excellent and the staff initially seemed friendly, but everything deteriorated during checkout and afterward. 1. Incorrect valet charges & constantly changing explanations At checkout, I was told I would be charged valet parking for 3 nights, even though I used valet for only 2 nights. I told them I can show my Turo booking, which has the proof that the car was returned before 10 PM. She first claimed the car was there until 1 AM and I would be charged a full night. When I asked them to check cameras, the story changed - suddenly I would be charged half a day because “the car was there until 10 PM,” even though earlier they said charges are calculated per night. This inconsistency shows very poor training and accountability. 2. Bathroom shower handle unusable On top of all this, the shower handle in the bathroom was so tight that it felt like you needed a hammer just to rotate it or switch the water off. This is completely unacceptable 3. Front desk incompetence and dishonesty Once I reached home, I noticed an unexplained $500+ charge on my card for my stay. I called for an itemized bill, and this began an even worse experience. When I called, Connie at the front desk asked for my email, which I spelled out twice, slowly and clearly using phonetics. My email is only 6 letters long. She claimed she sent the invoice and said I would get it “any minute.” I asked her to stay on the line while I checked - she went silent and hung up. 4. I Called back and experienced more confusion from staff Brian answered the next call and repeated the same script: “She already sent it.” When I asked him to confirm which email they sent it to, he had no idea and had to ask Connie. Connie then tried to claim she “spoke to someone else,” but when pressed, she read out an email that was completely incorrect - something like “firstname lastname @gmail.com,” which is nothing like the email I provided. So clearly, the invoice was never sent and she simply didn’t care. Her final excuse was unbelievable: “It takes about 2 hours for the email to arrive.” In 2025, in the age of AI and instant communication, no hotel system takes 2 hours to send a simple invoice. Apart from Hotel being in downtown LA, I dont see any other positive to stay at this place especially after this experience.
So, I recently decided to treat myself to a night at this hotel in downtown Los Angeles next to the Crypto.com. I mean, who wouldn’t want a fantastic location at an affordable price? What I didn’t sign up for was my own personal rave, courtesy of the hotel’s neighbors. Picture this: it’s 11:00 PM, and I’m ready to embrace sweet dreams, only to be blasted by head-pounding dance music that could wake the dead. Honestly, I might as well have been in a DJ’s booth. My heavy-duty earplugs were useless against the assault on my eardrums and you could feel the vibrations through the bed. I felt like the designated driver friend at a party, trying to sleep on a couch with lumpy pillows in the middle of the dance floor while everyone else was jumping up and down on top of of me and they didn’t even have the decency to offer you any. I think this is the music they wake up prisoners of war and spies to get them to talk. If I knew anything I would have spilled it all. I’m no party pooper so I waited and called the front desk at the bewitching hour of 1:58 AM to express my concerns. “Oh, don’t worry!” they chirped. “The building next door has the authority to blast that music until 2 AM.” Authority? Sounds like a rave party is now a legitimate government function. They also mentioned they usually call the police—but, you know, maybe they just forgot this time? So we called back and they assured us that they called the police and “the police would handle it.” Here I am at 2:37AM still hearing the concerto of pounding music. By “handling it” is it possible they asked them to turn it up and add laser sounds and words? If you want a good hotel and a good nights sleep, I would skip this place. Or if you feel lucky, you could roll the dice…
We travel a lot and have stayed in downtown hotels in cities around the world. We saw some noise complaints in reviews and realize that is often the case in big cities. This is different. The business next door to the E-Central had the loudest music we’ve heard which lasted past 2AM. Avoid this hotel if you plan to sleep before then. In face, just avoid it all together. Solid zero stars.
Not wasting another dime here. Rude service at the front desk check in and check out. They advertise breakfast from 6am-12pm but when one shows up there’s no one there. They make you wait 10+minutes for coffee. They charge for literally everything, but have the audacity to treat customers like this.
When I booked I was supper excited to be staying across the street from where I had plans my Friday Night. I thought the best of this Hotel till the next morning I had to leave😮💨🤮🤢. My hubby and I woke up early to eat breakfast, and like always we leave our clothes we warned in ground && the clean in our luggage open in ground. As soon as we started to pick up before going to breakfast a HUGE cockroach The size of your whole hand was on top of my hubby pants his reaction was to throw pants n landed on top of our clean clothes in luggage🥴. I called front desk for them to come in and see what we just saw a lady comes in and grabs it like nothing and takes off with it in a bag alive. As we walked to checked out I explain to front desk what were they gonna do for the disgusting moment we went through in that room. She said she was gonna have her manager give me a call that same day at 1:00pm his name was Adrian Larson. I said ok that’s fine I’ll wait for his call, and that my payment was gonna stay pending till I spoke to him. So my problem here is that after waiting till 1:00pm I never received this call we drove home 3 hours and got home around 5pm and I had to be the one to call Adrian🙄. As soon as I get to speak to him he try’s to say it’s a water cockroach not a food one blah blah blah and I told him how was he gonna fix the situation since that was so unsanitary to be their for one night knowing I might had brought home that HUGE cockroach. I told him my clothes I took was new my luggage was new that now I was gonna have to throw away everything bcuz I was not gonna get invested with this GIANT cockroaches in my home. He made it seem like a whatever situation and all he offered to do was take the breakfast fee off our charge which the breakfast for 2 was free with us booking their!🥴 so I said no I needed a better offer. Adrian had promise to have his general manager call me Monday in AM to give me a better deal, I waited Monday all morning and at 3pm I stared to call him my self cuz these people from this hotel promised to call me both times and never did they call me.I had to be the one to reach out! Well no luck trying to reach the general Manager Richard and I had to leave couple voicemails, and never got a call back and what pisses me off is that the charge they said that they were not gonna charged was gonna be pending in my bank till we had this issue resolved and this morning it was charged in my bank! So do not stay here I repeat do not stay HERE’ really bad costumer service !!! And you will be seeing Giant cockroaches in your room if you stay in level 3 ROOM 303!
I fell for this scam unfortunately. While the location is awesome - They have a hidden charge for everything - Parking / Water / Breakfast ( They sell $20 vouchers for max $16 breakfast which they have for sale ) Won’t come back again. Stay away unless you are looking only for the location advantage
One of the least capable guest service teams I’ve experienced. And I don’t say that lightly. We got checked into a room our first night that had an air conditioning unit that sounded like it was about to become a fire hazard. The next morning after getting 2 hours of sleep, we politely requested a new room. The response included no empathy at all, but the response was “ugh, let me get back to you, we have a lot of early check in requests”. They move us to a different room - the shower handle spins around like a yo-yo, and the air conditioning unit has its own weird issues. Not to mention the key cards weren’t programmed correctly and we got locked out after a nice night out. Brought my concerns to the manager and he said “well all A/C units give off a sound, I’d have to come check it out to tell you if I think it’s off” and in regards to the key cards not working, he said “well that happens all the time.” For a prime location, the issues with the room and especially the service was very unfortunate. Choose a different option if you can.
