I brought my Fiancé to Feather and Flour looking for a decent meal that's local, and I was very impressed by the quality of the food and the service I received, our drinks were very tasty and paired very well with the food we got. The FOOD, Oh my goodness was it delicious. I have never had a burger that absolutely covered my tastebuds with a savory well seasoned but not overwhelming strong flavor. Ill definitely be back!!
Made it to one of their “Préfixe” menu tastings, and I couldn’t have been more relieved I didn’t lose them. I don’t care what their pivot, their new inspiration, or their new menu tasting becomes? It’s always delicious, with the kindest staff. D’you see that damn green bean from the salad? It’s literally straight from a cartoon, I swear to g… Like, where y’all eating green beans that look like they came out of a Veggie Tales episode, eh? The raspberry tart dessert was so good, I contemplated hiding my jar behind one of the knick-knack decorative shelves with the hopes of asking for my “first” one, ya? Luckily I was able to get a second.. 😌
THE BEST we’ve found since moving to AK a little over a year ago! So sad we just found this gem and recently head they are closing their doors 💔 We love everything from the amazing food, to the intimate dining experience, and the incredibly attentive & friendly staff❣️ We may have only found you this month but we’ve been patrons 4 times so far, and we’ll keep coming until the last plate is served ❤️❤️ I so wish I had found you sooner!
The chef is incredibly talented! We are mind-blown every time we eat here. We’ve enjoyed the freshness, local ingredients, and amazing flavors in every dish. Personally, I’m not a fan of halibut but decided to try the Fresh Halibut preparation offering in the April menu. Its was juicy, flavorful, and I’ve changed my mind about eating halibut. We love the beef tenderloin preparations we’ve had over the years. The latest scallop crudo and crostini (Halumi and Fig) is really good. We love the food here so much that we drive from South Anchorage just to try new dishes. I’m so sorry to hear that you are closing and sincerely hope we can enjoy your food in the future! The service is great too. 🙂
My wife and I had a date night last evening. We close your place not only out of convenience, but because your food has never disappointed. The quaint location is simplistic in nature with the right ambiance to make you feel welcomed. The staff & service were top-tier and they all embellished smiling faces while interacting with customers. Let’s get to the eats! For starters, the cocktail I chose was refreshing and now one of my new favorites. The food- where do I begin? Farm to table using local ingredients equals a flavorful combination that their chefs turn out with a great presentation. The deserts were artistically crafted well tempting you just want to dip in and give it a taste. Flavor abounded with every bite! Portion sizes were spot on and we left not only full and content, but VERY happy we chose your place to dine. Being locals, we like to support our community and Feather and Flour did not disappoint! We’ll be back again soon!
Was in Anchorage for the weekend visiting from Fairbanks. Heard about this place and decided to stop by! Little did we know we need a reservation ): Luke and Ky were amazing and worked with us!! The food was great, the people were sweet, and the service was amazing! Can’t wait to come back!
I heard about this cute little house restaurant from a co-worker and am so excited I booked a reservation for Bruch! From beginning to end everyone that works at Feather & Flour is very kind and welcoming. It’s apparent they enjoy their job and you can see it reflected on the guests who are enjoying the quaint atmosphere and amazing food. From our coffee, appetizer, main dish and dessert it was better than expected. If you want to sit down with friends, bruch with family or have a wonderful date with your spouse i highly recommend this location.
This place has exquisite dishes and stellar cocktails! I tried the minosa and the white sangria, and both were phenomenal and raised my standards for those drinks exponentially. The biscuits and gravy were savory and filling, and the breakfast sandwich was flavorful and flaky! Definitely worth every dollar - nothing in the valley compares to their breakfast cuisine.
Feather & Flour in Palmer, Alaska is truly redefining what it means to dine in the Last Frontier. Nestled in the stunning Mat-Su Valley, this restaurant brings the farm-to-table philosophy to life in a way that few places can. Every dish here feels like a tribute to Alaska’s rich, rugged landscape, from the fresh local ingredients to the carefully curated wine pairings. The meal started with roasted local carrots paired with house-made ricotta, honey, and kelp—a unique combination that set the bar high for the rest of the evening. The Caprese salad was bursting with flavor, featuring vibrant local tomatoes and a garden-fresh pesto. The highlight for me was the Kodiak Weathervane Scallops, served with a smooth potato purée and winter squash, paired perfectly with a dry Riesling. What really elevates Feather & Flour is the attention to detail. The service was impeccable, with the staff providing insight into the origin of the ingredients and thoughtful wine pairings. The setting—a cozy 1950s house—adds to the intimacy of the experience, making you feel like you're dining in the heart of Alaska, surrounded by towering mountains and glacial rivers. Whether you're a local or a visitor, Feather & Flour offers an unforgettable dining experience that celebrates the beauty of Alaska through its food. It’s no surprise that this restaurant has gained such a loyal following, and I wouldn’t be shocked if it eventually earns Michelin recognition. Be sure to make a reservation, as this place is in high demand.
My husband and I went for my birthday, and I've gotta say this was by far the best fancier dining experience I've had living in Alaska. We started with the focaccia, which was a very generous portion and VERY good. Our first courses were the shoyu salmon poke and the arancini; I don't eat fish and the poke was delicious, with a great texture, and the arancini was also really good. Our second courses we got the curry carrot potato soup and the fall harvest salad, which were both incredible. The third course we got the squash gnocci and the beef tenderloin. I was a little unimpressed with the gnocci, the gnocci was really large so I think the texture was amiss because of this. The beef, however, was great! For a drink, if you like a sweet cocktail, I cannot recommend the appletini enough! Service was absolutely wonderful and we were served quickly, food came out hot and everyone was very friendly! They do a birthday dessert if you celebrate with them, a simple yellow cake with chocolate icing and sprinkles, which was honestly a perfect ending to an overall great dinner!
Quaint little house turned into a restaurant that serves upscale food with locally sourced ingredients. They were able to get us in even though we did not have a reservation and showed up after there normal table seating times. I got their garden salad with blue cheese dressing - all ingredients were fresh crisp and tasted great. The micro greens and fresh flowers on the dishes were a nice touch. They used bread crumbs instead of croutons which complimented the delicate salad. Husband got the salmon chower which he said was really really good before he inhaled it. It smelled amazing but I did not try it myself. We ordered a bread starter which was a crispy foccacia bread served with herbed oil and vinegar. Honestly it was probably to much bread and we ate it all it.. practically stuffed ourselves. It was fluffy and soft while being crispy and flavorful. We both ordered the beef tenderloin which was served with mash potatoes broccolini and carrots. The potatoes were seasoned perfectly and topped with a brown gravy that was just the right consistency. Vegetables were not over or under cooked and again seasoned perfectly. The tenderloin it self was an excellent cut and was very tender but not mushy. It was also seasoned very well with what I am assuming was a peppercorn rub. The servers were working their buts off being prompt friendly and courteous. Kitchen staff was on it as well and dishes came out in quick order. Basically as we finished each dish the next wasn't far behind. Not pictured were two cocktails. Matanuska mist and wildflower margaritas. Both light and refreshing in their own way and honestly would have ordered more if we stayed longer. For being our first nice meal post partum I give it a 5/5 .
First time visit. Delicious food. Great location. I loved the intimate nature and vibe. It wasn't a busy and packed restaurant. I liked the prix fixe style. It's awesome that the meals change weekly and local ingredients are used. Highly recommend. Stumbled upon a blog post on Alaska Explored that brought me to this gem of a restaurant. Pricey but worth it for the quality and deliciousness. It was filling. Definitely get a dessert and adult beverage to top it off. 10/10 recommend.
Every bit of this experience was incredible! From easy reservation making with all details included. To the absolutely unique flavors, impeccable taste, filling portions, and inviting, relaxing ambiance of this space. We knew this place looked promising, but Feather & Flour exceeded our expectations immensely. Some of the best food I have had in all of Alaska, by far! I will for sure be recommending to others, and will be back myself…soon!
The best food, atmosphere and staff you can find in Alaska. The environment is extremely welcoming and the staff were very friendly. The food is made with so much love. Extreme care is taken when choosing ingredients and I love the options they have for unique dietary needs. Also the homemade coffee syrups are to die for!! I will never stop recommending this wonderful establishment to friends and family! A must visit when in the area!!
That place is a gem in the area with fancy food options and a great service. The three types of bread we had were delicious and did not had the typical sweet flavor, so thumbs up. The crew is attentive and has fun. Recommend to book your spot in advance as they have limited seating and it fills up quickly.
This was a WOW experience. We ordered the egg Benedict, Blueberry pancakes, and biscuits and gravy. Everything was delicious, fresh, hot and made from scratch. It felt like a homemade meal at my mom's. It is a smaller place so making reservations is probably the best. The staff was wonderful and even threw in a baked good at the end! Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a breakfast or brunch date!
Highly recommend. Everything about this experience was incredible. The service was above and beyond, the menu was full of depth, and the food 🤤🤤🤤 . We were told Everything besides the flour and half half is sourced within 2 miles of the restaurant. We got: Biscuits and gravy: beeautiful, fluffy biscuit and huge chunks of locally sourced pork Shrimp and Barley: perfectly cooked flavorful shrimp, the barley tasted almost like a risotto, and the sauce I still don't really have words for Bread and butter: the butter was exquisite and the foccaccia was chewy and soft Crabby Sangria: oh man, a mix of a sangria and apple cider. Perfect for the Sept menu Palmer, you have a tasty treat on your hands. We will be back
