We have come here for years. Great, large portions. Excellent eggplant, curries. Clean and simple atmosphere. Servers were very nice and food came quickly. Nice family place!
Have to rate this five-stars for the immense lunch-menu value ($10-$11) - who can find anything around Palo Alto for that price? And the food is consistently good and a generous portion. Recommended.
A great variety of dishes, all great. During this time of stress they have an excellent system for curbside pickup. You stay outside all the time. Just call and your order is ready in 15 minutes. Couldn't be better for a local source of takeout meals.
Quiet hidden gem for amazing Thai food. We got the spring rolls, pad Thai noodles, duck curry and walnut prawns. Nice portions and delicious dishes. Will be back soon!
My wife and I love this place! We’ve been coming here for the last several years every time we want take-out Thai food. We always order the same, Chef muddles (the best!!), pumpkin curry, and sweet and sour chicken! You won’t be disappointed! Jenny, the owner, is very friendly and always thank you for being there. They are just the best! Love this restaurant a lot!
Food was great and reasonably priced! The staff was kind, and the place was very clean.
One of the most fairly priced joints in the local area. Food was quick, and tasty. Honestly one of the best Mango chickens ive had from a Thai joint the mango sauce flavor was actually very on point and they actually give you decent sized slices of mango!
Came here for a birthday dinner and absolutely loved it! Lots of vegetarian-friendly foods (they were able to make all the meat curries with tofu/veggies instead) and I especially have to recommend the spicy veggie soup! Huge portions and excellent flavors all around and amazing mango coconut rice
I wish this place would get more business. The food is great! I've been here a few times and some favorites are the pork ribs, red curry, and tom kha gai. Everything we've ordered has been delicious!
Did a large take out order, all great and on time. Very generous portions, surprisingly so, and great tasty Thai curries. Definitely good, above what I'd expect for the price (it's a relatively inexpensive place, especially for Palo Alto).
This was the best Vietnamese/Thai food in the city! It was filling and made me feel good about myself after eating out. It was so yummy and the presentation was good too. The prices were also reasonable. The staff was also really nice. Highly recommended!!
Indochine has been a takeout staple for us over the last 6 years. Run by a lovely couple, we always enjoy supporting this small business. We recommend the pumpkin curry, sweet and sour chicken, and the Chef’s Noodles (pad see ew). Food is quick, fresh, and served in generous portions. Dine in or take out- you won’t regret it!
Excellent red curry with duck. Arrived as they were closing at 9pm and they let us order take out. Perfect blend of sweet (pineapple chunks and raisins) and spicy (curry plus jalapeños). Definitely worth a visit.
Amazing food and great service. We ordered chicken fried rice and some fish dish. Quantity was nice, one of the best Thai restaurants around.
This place is excellent! All food is made fresh so all customizations are possible. We are vegetarian and they were able to accommodate with no fish sauce in curries and pad Thai. I highly recommend the eggplant dish. Service was great, the waitress is kind and hasn't messed up an order a single time we have visited.
I found this little hidden restaurant that my daughter and I discovered. She wanted Thai, so here is where we landed. Oh my. The Chicken Drunken noodles were fabulous, and the Pad Thai was amazing. They put huge prawns and chicken in the dish. It was perfect. Excellent place to eat. Oh did I tell you? The spring rolls were soooo good and fresh!! 😋 😋 😋 I really recommend this place!
Ordered combo pad thai which was super tasty with a good mix of protein options and a heft portion of noodles to deliver outstanding value. Also ordered the green papaya salad which was quite tasty as well. I wish it was a bit spicier but loved the fish sauce complex flavor. Overall it was very light and refreshing with the mint leaves. Easy to pickup with a nice loading zone right in front.
Absolutely delicious and healthy food. I have been to so many Thai and Vietnamese places but I felt I have never eaten food this good. I ordered steamed tofu and Chinese broccoli with brown sauce and it was delicious, healthy and flavorful. Will surely visit again!!
We had lunch menus and I ordered grill pork with rice noodles. The meals are perfect although the staff served wrong meals for us ( I got chicken one) but the meals were good and fresh and the price is reasonable. I would recommend this restaurant for who loves Thai and Vietnam foods.
This place deserves more rating than 3.9. I'm Asian, the name is IndoChine so I thought it's Indonesian Chinese food. But the menu had Thai, Chinese, Malay fusioned food. The spicy food isn't really spicy for Asians (might be for white/light flavor food people or whoever can't handle spices) so I could see why someone could expect spicy but the food isn't. However for Palo Alto, the value and price and service, are all very reasonable and quality.i think it should be at least 4.3 stars. Hence giving it a 5 to average it up (:
Portion is really huge and food tastes great! Lady boss is really nice and polite too. Would definitely come back here:)
Wonton soup. Basil fried rice. Red beef curry. Chili prawns. Steam jasmine rice. Pad Thai rice noodle. 😊

Great prices, huge portion sizes, fast service. The crispy fried fish was surprisingly good!
Super Thai / Chinese blend of food; good quality; freshly cooked; nice ingredients and variety, especially in our vegetarian dishes. Calm and relaxed atmosphere of a family run place, served by owner herself ( Jenny), and not at all fast or felt rushed with service. Hot n sour vegetarian soup, kumpao tofu, Singapore noddle were very well made. Would love to try other vegetarian options next time - eggplant, Tom kha soup and spring rolls. Even the spicy sauce is nicely done a bit sour goes well with all dishes and even plain jasmine rice. Recommend for Palo Alto midtown folks to patronize this place. Open 7 days, hard working family run.
We are vegetarian, and we had such a great meal! They modified the yellow chicken curry with tofu, and they were nice enough to clarify with us that we didn't want fish sauce! It was really tasty. The flavors were there. Give this place a chance. It's often missed in PA, but we'll be coming back again for the awesome food!

I purchased Pad Seew with shrimp and it was heavy on the noodles and low on shrimp and veggies. It was good, but if I had known this in advance, I would have ordered it with extra veggies and extra protein. Make sure to reheat if you take out. The flavor came out after reheating.
Solidly good. Had dumplings, lemongrass chicken, a ride noodle chicken dish, and some kind of warm beef salad (my wife ordered). All of it was good, and about right for the price. We come here with some frequency, haven't been disappointed yet!
We're from outside the Bay Area, and we've been astounded by the prices--five to six dollars higher per dish. Indochine, however, has reasonable prices and very good food. They feature a wide range of Vietnamese and Thai dishes. Generally, the food is on the mild side, but you can ask for more kick.
This is a very nice place. However, I feel the food is more Chinese than Thai. The flavor is on the sweet and salty side but they don't over do it. The portion is good too. Price is just right in the area. It's a very good choice for lunch. (Has lunch special)
Wonderful broad menu of Thai and other Southeast Asian cuisines. Atmosphere pretty plebian but the food makes up for it.
This place is a nice casual restaurant that tends to get busy with the lunch crowd in the cozy middlefield downtown of Palo Alto. Accordingly the place is pretty quiet when we showed up for early dinner. A bit warm and dimply lit, the place doesn’t exactly scream welcoming. The hostess is very warm and friendly though. The food was adequately tasty, though the eggplant dish was a mushy. The Thai curry was on point and The fried rice was a bit on spicy side. All good though. Good for a quick bite, bit don’t expect a premium meal even if they ask for the premium price.
delectable chicken pad see ew and perfect for large groups!
We pop in here every month or so. Honey Walnut Prawns and Combo Fried Rice is my go to. Spicy Carmelized Fish is really delicious. Tons of noodles dishes. Check the Chefs Special Entrées. They are very good! Friendly service and plenty of seats.
Huge quantity just for to-go. One dish can feed a family (of three)! If you are looking to gorge on food, this is the place. The location is a bit non-frequented which made it tricky for previous restaurants to endure. After getting a manicure or haircut next door, be easy on yourself and take home a piping hot dish to help support this business. The mango rice dessert is a must try. Indoor seating was not available but hopefully they will and a little table or chair outside might be more inviting and noticing
Clean and neat place with great service. You get a lot for your money. I had the Pad Thai and felt it was just average. I feel it could have used more flavor. Next time - curry.
Yummy midtown location that’s usually not busy and quick for some tasty meals. The curries are yummy and the pad Thai is a classic.

We were a group of five for a Saturday luncheon excursion, and most of us had take- home boxes after enjoying large set plates, soup, rice, salad, and additional Thai teas. All delicious, and served quickly. A bit pricey for an informal lunch but not unusual around here given the quality. The place was quiet with only a few tables occupied. If you are not friendly with gluten, be careful when ordering - the fish fillets were coated in soft breading, although the sauces and seasoning were wonderful.

This place is fine - the food isn’t repulsive or anything like that. It’s just fine. The problem is: unless you go for the lunch special it really is not worth the price. If you’re paying north of 16-17 for food, just make the trek downtown. Even the lunch special at 13.03 isn’t very worth it.
Online menu prices are outdated. We used to love coming here but the big increase in prices of food here will make us have to find a new place. The price of a small bowl of rice is $3 each and a dinner for two now costs $50 without tip. Also they charge for using credit card. Food quality here is good, but not worth the price sadly.
Your average local broadly Asian restaurant. Pad see ew was too sweet, Masamun Beef curry (supposedly 1 pepper spiciness) was not spicy at all. Tables are barren of the spice trays that are usually at authentic thai restaurants. Food was okay but probably won’t return.
This is a small and cozy restaurant. The dishes for the most part are Thai and Vietnamese. My grilled pork with vermicelli was fine, but not the best or flavorful I've had. Even though it wasn't too crowded during lunch, the service is pretty slow due to the fact they're clearly understaffed. I even saw a party waiting to be greeted, only to walk out of the restaurant.
got the pineapple fried rice and it wasn’t very good- it had pineapple cashews and raisins but didn’t really taste at all how pineapple fried rice is supposed to taste. it was kinda bland and not necessarily bad but not that good either. portion sizes are large which i guess justifies the price but the food is kind of mid
We went to this restaurant for lunch yesterday and had a very unpleasant experience. As soon as we said we wanted to dine and order, the hostess/waitress immediately insisted "Cash only". Giving the benefit of the doubt, we agreed to pay cash, assuming the card service must not be working. But then we saw the other customers who arrived were provided with a proper tab and allowed to pay by credit card. For our tab we were not provided with an official tab. The hostess/waitress just told us the amount. We paid cash plus tip and initially she told us it wasn't enough. Then insisted we give her the exact amount she had stated for the food and then leave the tip. The whole experience was ruined by this discriminatory behavior. We wanted to confront her but didn't want to be unkind in front of other customers in the restaurant. The food was not very appealing either. The eggplant/tofu was lacking flavor and the soup had more broth and very little vegetables. It would be nice to get an explanation from the management for this strange request and behavior. I will not be recommending this place to any of my friends.
First of all, $18.50 for a pad Thai chicken ordered over the phone, picked up by self. That in itself is outrageous when I can get the same thing DoorDashed to me for about the same price. Last menu pic shows I think $11.99 for pad Thai. Second, that pad Thai was one of the worst pad Thais I’ve had and I’ve had this dish from at least 25 places. The audacity to sell a below mediocre dish for this price is just incredible. Go to any other Thai place.
Tried this restaurant this evening and it was terrible. The Pad Se Ew was disgusting. Barely any vegetables, over cooked noodles, and chicken tasted very old. Sour shrimp soup was basically hot water with oil, over-cooked shrimp, zero vegetables, and mushrooms. No flavor at all in this food. It was prepared in 5 minutes and tasted like it. These 2 dishes cost $27 - ridiculous. They want you to pay cash. Sketchy. I don’t think this is a Thai/Vietnamese restaurant, more hidden Chinese.
The spring rolls were disgusting. Tough. Just warmed up - bit fresh. The chicken wings needed to be crisped up as arrived gristly and flat. The “pad Thai” was inedible. Should be flat noodles not these. It was just congealed in a glutinous mess. Put together with no pride. Absolutely scandalous. Should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves… do not waste your money…

I ordered at 5 pm to have food delivered through their website. 7:30 nothing. Called them to return my money. The were not willing. I used to go there for thai food but will never order through their website again
