The food was delicious across the board! Every cocktail we ordered was top tier. You can tell so much care goes into both the presentation and the flavors. My favorite drink was the Mezcal campfire and the Picosita. My family loved the Oysters Aguachiles, the Calamari, Queso Fundido, the Tacos Ahogados (I could drink this broth alone!), the Arrachera, the Burritas, and the lamb shank. So so good. I hosted my Galentine's dinner at Maestro Pasadena and it was truly such a beautiful experience from start to finish. The team was incredibly accommodating and even allowed me to bring a few small table decorations to personalize the space, which meant so much to me. Our table was set at the front of the restaurant right by the window, and the aesthetic was absolutely perfect. The ambiance felt warm, stylish, and elevated while still being comfortable enough for us to relax and celebrate. What really made the night special was the hospitality. Our waiter was attentive without being intrusive, constantly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. The owners also stopped by, which made the experience feel even more personal and welcoming. If you are looking for a spot in Pasadena to host a birthday, girls night, or any special dinner, Maestro is such a great choice. We had the best time and I will absolutely be back.

Maestros restaurant delivered an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. We kicked off our meal with the hand-made guacamole served with crispy fried banana chips, a fun and flavorful twist on a classic appetizer. The queso fundido was rich and perfectly melted, paired beautifully with the soft, freshly made tortillas that added an authentic touch. For our main course, we enjoyed the arrachera, birria, and green chicken enchiladas — each dish bursting with flavor and clearly crafted with care. The arrachera was tender and smoky, while the birria had a deep, comforting richness. The enchiladas were bright and zesty, striking a great balance with the other plates. Every bite reflected quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation. To finish, we shared the Tres leches carrot cake, which was nothing short of spectacular — moist, spiced just right, and soaked perfectly in that signature creamy blend. The entertainment throughout the evening added a vibrant energy, and the staff was impressively attentive, making us feel truly welcomed. Maestros is a place where great food, service, and ambiance come together seamlessly.

Went for brunch and it was absolutely delicious. Service was great. Cocktails were perfect! I really enjoyed the French toast. The chilaquilas were just as good. I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the cocktail menu.

My family frequents this restaurant that serves elevated and modern Mexican fare. The food is always amazing and the service top notch. The cocktails are refreshing especially the Moracuya. They offer multiple appetizers. Though the grilled octopus and oysters are delicious, the calamari and queso fundido are our favorites. The sesame salad is light and shareable, the tacos ahogados and seared scallops are a must try. The birria plate and burritas are rich but not too spicy. The tres leches carrot cake and guava cheesecake are the best finish of our dinners here. If you happen to be in Pasadena, this is one of the 5 places I would recommend.

Great upscale Mexican restaurant with possibly one of the best scallops I had this year. It came with huitlacoche rice and mushroom that was perfectly seasoned and tasted well with the scallops. Ceviche is a large portion with very fresh ingredients and lots of liquid sauce(?) around it, which made it a great starter for big group. Arrachera was also memorable with perfectly marinated skirt steak and amazingly fresh side salad. They also offer great vegetarian options, such as Tetela and Tamal poblano, as well as amazing Cocktail options. The only down side is the indoor acoustics, it is quite loud with all the (excited) chats, perhaps outdoor will be better with Mariachi playing in the background. A must place to visit!

Absolutely lovely! My sons treated me to a beautiful Mexican Mother's Day celebration. Our beautiful server Natalia made the experience special. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The drinks were such a treat also. Must have the flight of tequilas. I enjoyed it. Please try the Tres Leche Carrot cake and the cheese cake. So special and so very delicious.

Just an excellent experience all around. The atmosphere was a tad loud but I’m really reaching to find a flaw. Food and service were both impeccable and cocktails were awesome too. Special shout out to best carrot cake ever.

Loved this place. Awesome food. We almost went through everything on the menu and we loved it all. Awesome drinks. The servers were very knowledgeable and also willing to suggest things and make changes outside of menu. Prepared drinks and food that didn't even exist on the menu. Adjustments for veggie food. Could be a little noisy but awesome for food with friends and family. Enough paid parkings nearby.

¡Feliz cumpleaños para mi! A wonderful dinner, kind staff, and easy parking. The cocktails are a revelation. The best meal I'm likely to ever partake of in an alley. This alley comes me love music and twinkly lights for ambiance.

Our server, Max was awesome! Answered all of our questions. Was patient and attentive. The beet salad was AMAZING 👏 Carne en sus jugos... AMAZING!! Birria-Delicious. All the tacos- Great! Calamari-Good stuff! The OCTOPUS!!AMAZING!!! Cooked perfectly, seasoned well, everything in the bowl complimented the octopus. Definitely give this place a try! Also, try the piñacolada. Scientifically prepared for our enjoyment! Soooo good!! The reason for the 4/5 stars, my plantain chips were burnt and the mole dish lacked the mole taste and any other taste; it was too spicy.

Dreamy! We had a large birthday group 8 I think and everything was amazing. They had comped a birthday champagne and a fun mocktail for those not drinking. I had spicy margaritas, the appetizers were all phenomenal and the short rib and the steak were standout dishes! We had dessert as well, I can’t remember what exactly but it was soooo good. We sat on the patio side and there was a mariachi band, the atmosphere made this such a memorable experience!

Had such an amazing dinner here with a group of friends. Started off with a round of cocktails. I had La Morita (If you love spice, this one’s for you). They have the best selection of tequila & mezcal along with their talented bartenders. Appetizers: the most delicious and refreshing aguachile oysters! We ended up ordering a second round. We also shared their exquisite bone marrow esquite. Such an elevated take on the street food. Loved it! Dinner: Arrachera. Ooh that chicharrón chimichurri was on another level. So good! Also tried my friend’s carne en su jugo. So flavorful and the meat was so tender. The atmosphere is so classy and love their soft mood lighting. Service: Our server Natalie was so attentive and made us feel so special! The owner Paul even came around to ask about our dinner and even gave us some tips on his favorite tequilas. He was so welcoming and knowledgeable. Definitely shines through in his restaurant’s details. Overall we had such an amazing night. Will be coming back soon for their mariachi night!

This restaurant is a true hidden gem. The ambiance is stunning...outdoor dining surrounded by warm lighting and a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. I usually visit on Thursdays when the mariachi band performs, and the live entertainment is top-notch, adding an authentic and joyful touch to the experience. You can see the pride of ownership in every detail, from the quality of the food and drinks to the service and entertainment. Everything feels genuine and thoughtfully done. For busy professionals, this place is a perfect reminder to slow down and enjoy life’s finer moments. It’s more than just a meal, it’s an experience worth making time for.

Great spot or go for an intimate or special meal. The drink selection is solid, though it is a mezcaleria, so it leans that way. I've not had a bad experience here in the 3 years I've been coming. Highly recommend!

Food: My wife and I came here through our Amex Resy credit promotion, and we tried a good spread of dishes: scallops, carne en su jugo, queso fundido, calamari, and fried quesadillas. The calamari and the queso fundido were easily the standouts of the night: flavorful, well-seasoned, and plated beautifully. The entrées, unfortunately, lacked depth. They needed more seasoning, especially salt, to bring the flavors forward. One of the fried quesadillas had no cheese inside, which might’ve melted out during frying but still felt like something was missing. The scallops were cooked well but needed more intensity overall. Service: Service was excellent. Our servers were attentive, quick to clear plates, and kept our water filled without needing to ask. Everyone was friendly, and the pacing of the meal was smooth. Ambiance: Warm, modern, and slightly upscale with dim lighting and comfortable seating. It’s a great setting for a date night or a relaxed dinner out.

Solid 3.5. Good service but not great. We tried DineLA menu for the first time. Food was interesting but lacking depth. Maybe I’m too used to street taco 🌮.. I think Mexican food tends to be saltier. Calamari was my favorite because I thought the sauce was a very Chinese chili 🌶️ sauce 😂

Came on a Friday night in a group of 4 and we were seated outdoor! We started with two appetizers and a few drinks, and I've gotta say, the appetizer portions were bigger than we thought. So we ended up only ordering two main courses and a dessert to share! What we ordered: 1. shrimp and octopus ceviche: refreshing but probably needed more acidity, it lacked flavor 2. Grilled octopus 3. Arracherra (medium rare): I enjoyed the plate. 4. Mole confit 5. Tres Leches carrot cake -So Bomb!!! The biggest complaint would be their online reservation system, make sure to ask for indoor seating when you do the reso (the new online system will automatically put the reservations to outdoor seating) And even though they had heaters on, it was still very cold! However, the service was on point. A big shout out to our female server, who was attentive and sweet. She knew that we were there for a bday celebration, so she included 4 complimentary glasses of champagne for the group to enjoy with the dessert Overall, we enjoyed our visit!

Dining at Maestros is a hit and miss. Before Covid, it was a much larger menu with more eclectic choices. Now the menu is much smaller, and obviously the prices have increased. The meals that my husband and I ate tonight were delicious. We indulged in the Carnitas and the special of the evening which was sea scallops. The only thing that went wrong with my meal was “woody” asparagus ends, but everything else about the meal was great. Our waiter was lovely, very helpful and conscientious. Then came the dessert. We were convinced that with our waiter’s enthusiastic suggestion of churros we had found the perfect ending to our meals. Sadly, we were mistaken. What showed up was a delicious looking dessert albeit very dark looking churros than what are used to. It made me a bit nervous to be handed a large steak knife for a dessert but you sprinkle cinnamon, and sugar on anything and I’ll try it. However, upon enthusiastically cutting into the churro I found it to be extremely gummy with uncooked batter in the center surrounded by some of the dough that was cooked. This obviously means that the oil was too hot and therefore, cooked the outside of the churro faster than the inside of the churro. My husband called the waiter over and I mentioned it. He said he’d be back. Instead, he sent the manager over who tried to convince me that that’s how the restaurant cooks churros, that most people don’t cook churros correctly and that’s how churros are supposed to be cooked: Crunchy on the outside with gummy (uncooked) batter on the inside. I mentioned that uncooked batter has raw egg in it and then she continued to tell me that she could guarantee me that there was no raw egg in the churros. They were perfectly safe. I don’t know about you, but I’m not eating anything that has egg in it that isn’t completely cooked. She told me that’s how the restaurant does it and that she would remove it from our bill if we didn’t want it re-cooked, which would make it much harder and dry inside. So we had it removed from our bill. Now I’m not stupid and I know that churros are not supposed to be uncooked on the inside at all so much so that I’ve contacted two pastry chef friends of mine after dinner to confirm whether churros were supposed to be gummy on the inside. They said both told me absolutely not. If there’s gummy, sticky dough on the inside of a churro, it means the oil was too hot, which is what I assumed. Churros should be light and fluffy on the inside and a bit chewy with a crunchy exterior. I’m just posting this review as a warning in case anybody decides to order churros at this restaurant. If you enjoy this type of dessert, it’s your tummy not mine that may suffer.

We really enjoyed the food here. The esquites were probably the best I've ever had, and the bone marrow is a fun touch. Drinks are creative and very good. The service was very friendly and attentive. The place is very cute, but the acoustics are just awful, and the noise level was deafening. It honestly made it difficult to converse and enjoy the meal. My wife ordered a diet coke, and requested a refill. We were charged $8 for a fountain diet coke ( 2x $4 ), which is ridiculous. Server never mentioned they charged for refills, but it's just tacky to charge so much. Ultimately, the food would get me to return, but take-out might be the way to go.

Great atmosphere and friendly waitresses.Mariachi night is a must. The food disappointed though. It lacked flavor. Presentation was nice but the green enchiladas needed more seasoning. Calamari was decent. The side of chicken and beans for my daughter's cheese quesadilla were flavorless; it lacked salt and flavor. The arranchera meat also asked flavor....it seems as though all items needed salt unfortunately. Definitely not worth the price. The Mariachi sings great though. I can see this place more as a hang out spot to drink and listen to Mariachi, NOT to dine in.
