La Vespa Vistamare

Nice location. We should have arrived a little early to see the sunset...open place. The food is outstanding, perfect cooking, delicate dressing. Service is attentive without being invasive. Fast, educate and focused. This restaurant could be located anywhere in the world and still would be praised. If one thing not as good can be said is that it is inside a hotel and access is a little long. Other than that, excellent.

We chose to have dinner here on the last day of our trip in Panama. And it was one of the best restaurants we've tried in Panama. The ambiance and view was great and the food was excellent. We ordered the Mixed Seafood Grill and the Fileto Al Gusto. The food portion was quite big and had a nice presentation. The only disappointment was the premium dessert listed on the menus were not available. We ended up ordering the Pannacotta and liked it.

Came in to Panama from the US to celebrate my friend's 30th birthday and I was able to book here effortlessly. I contacted the restaurant on WhatsApp a week before I arrived and they organzied a surprise birthday celebration for him - cake, card and flowers. They went above and beyond to ensure it was a great experience. The sea-side ambiance, the food and the service was world-class and so affordable. Special thanks to our awesome waiters Jesus and Angel who were super attentive and ensured we were without want!

I have had the pleasure to eat at many excellent restaurants all over the world in the last 20 years this Italian is one of my top 5 favorites anywhere. Amazing food, fantastic and attentive staff and one the best water level sea views in Panamá. My favorite time is at sunset. Highly recommend

Food, atmosphere and service is consistently excellent with English speaking servers. 28 Oct 2020: Visited again this evening, and hands down this is the best restaurant in Panama City. Everything was perfect.

Adding to my review below, I have to thank La Vespa for making my recent birthday extra special! When the singer called out my name to sing a special happy birthday to me I almost fell off my seat and then when the wait staff came out with tiramisu and a sparkler and sang to me again it just made my day and my night! I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant! La Vespa is my favorite restaurant in all of Panama City. The food is outstanding consistently, the ambiance with the open air feel and view out over the Pacific is unbeatable and the service is always top-notch, something that is not easy to find there. Nothing beats a ribeye gigante and a bottle of good red wine in a table next to the sea if you’re in the mood for romance! But you can’t go wrong whether it’s pasta, pizza, meat or seafood that suits your mood. This place has my absolute highest endorsement!

Has made a reservation here for my birthday and as soon as we checked in with the host they acknowledged my birthday which was a nice touch. We got to our table and it had a reserved sign on it which was a nice touch. We sat right on the end next to the water with great views. Service was ok. I got the lobster pasta and it had really great flavor. Very pricy but I thought the food and atmosphere were worth it.

This Italian restaurant is located in The Ocean Club mall and I highly recommend visiting if you are in Panama. The pulpo was fresh and prepared perfectly. One of my top pulpo restaurants. Drinks were nicely made. Try their sangria, one of the better sangrias I have had since I was in Spain.

Probably one of the best services and seafood in the World. The view is breathtaking, good selection of wines, and the overall experience is astonishing.

Food and view are nice, convenient if your staying that the trump/jw marriot but the prices are kinda high

Beautiful View Good Service Good Food

Highly recommended Italian food with an Ocean view. La Vespa is located at the rear of the Trump Tower Ocean Club by JW Marriott. Upon arriving for our reservation, we were ushered in to our table overlooking the city skyline and Pacific. The restaurant is primarily outdoors (covered), dimly lit, and very quiet. It was a very warming atmosphere. We had the honour to be served by Guido, from Venice. You can see his hospitality experience the moment he starts talking to you. Being fluent in multiple languages, it was pleasant to be able to converse in our mother tongue. His timing and attentiveness was prompt but not pushy. We tried the recommended mojito and azul margarita, which were followed by 2 or 3 more they were so good. Pricing is extremely decent for both drinks and entrees. They do also have an extensive wine menu. I went for the linguini con le vongole (clam linguini) and it was flawless. It had a delicate sauce, and hearty little clams. My husband had the mixed seafood spaghetti which had a great pop of red pepper spice. Thank you Guido for your great conversation and spot on recommendations. We will be back for certain. Cheers!

Had my birthday dinner here and it was amazing. The service in Panama always exceeds my expectations and this restaurant didn’t disappoint. Our server was very friendly and so accommodating. The view is so pretty and the restaurant is beautifully designed. I honestly can’t think of a reason to dislike anything about this restaurant. Panama is one of my favorite places to be.

This is a wonderful restaurant with highly attentive staff and an amazing coastal view of Panama City. If you are staying at the JW Marriott or nearby, I highly recommend!

Very delicious food and great service. Located one story up from the Pacific Ocean. The view is not that impressive, but the food is very delicious. You are surrounded by land by skyscrapers. Which are very impressive when they retract the roof. I would highly recommend this restaurant or the food.

Great food and portions are big. The views here are also amazing. The prices might seem a bit expensive but they already include the tax (itbms) in the prices so it's not that expensive. Highly recommended!

Wonderful sea views on the covered terrace. Food nothing special - wasn’t as good as we expected reading all the positive reviews. Also too pricey for the quality (see pizza prices from the photos…😱).

Vespa is located wonderfully on the waterfront, boasting amazing views of Costa del Este while you dine. My pistachio & pesto was overall pretty good, but I did expect a little more. (My bad, near the sea, should have got seafood). The shrimp was really tasty, and for an individual in my family who is quite picky, they thoroughly enjoyed the pizza. The cherry on top was the cream flan with Nutella, it was nice and rich with great hints of graham cracker and fruits. Pretty hard to beat the combination of amazing views, great service, and fresh food.

My family visited this restaurant for our final meal in Panama, and I’m happy to say the food did not disappoint. The dishes were all flavorful, fresh, and delicious, and the view was absolutely stunning. However, the service was the one area that fell short. We arrived around 1 p.m., when the restaurant was relatively empty, yet our waiter took longer than expected to bring us water after we requested more. Toward the end of our meal, we also felt that he could have checked in with us more frequently. We had to ask for the bill as he seemed to disappear for a while. Despite this, the food was fantastic. I highly recommend the bruschetta appetizer and the Mediterranean salad.

Wanted lobster Thermador but they had no lobster, so prawn Thermador it was!! It was delicious along with the roasted potatoes and fresh garden salad. Service was good but I think when you're dining solo, folks tend to forget to check on you, otherwise great rec from JW Marriott staff 👍🏾👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😋😋😋😋

We were cordially and warmly greeted. Our view was somewhat obstructed but the atmosphere and entertainment were lively. Our female server was not very attentive nor did she have a great fund of knowledge despite the confidence she attempted to portray. She disappeared for long periods of times and her male co-workers ended up being more attentive and helpful than she was. We were enthusiastic to have the lobster but they were out of lobster (this was at 7:30 pm on a Saturday-Sept 3-, mind you). Because of the lackluster service and the lack of seafood (lobster) at a seafood restaurant, I would rate this as 4 stars at the most.

Fantastic setting with views of the water and the Punta Pacific lights at night. Service was very attentive and food was good, but not great. Seafood was slightly overcooked and the ribeye didn't have much flavor. The Nutella foccacia was very disappointing but the bruschetta was good.

I ordered a dry martini with 3 olives. I honestly expected the olives to be of better quality coming from a place that promotes having fresh ingredients. I decided because of this to order a simple dish so i ordered the margherita pizza. I was not particularly impressed with the presentation or the taste. I do believe its possible i may have ordered the wrong dish and may return for the pasta but for what they charge for the meals i did not want to risk ordering an expensive dish that i did not like.

Average food, nothing really special. The location has a nice view of the city and overlooks the water.

Service is horrendous, incredibly rude and condescending to spanish speaking customers for no reason other than profiling. It’s quite sad that such a beautiful place is tainted by the unprofessional (DESUBICADOS) staff. The view is wonderful and the drinks are decent but there’s a very concerning attitude going on with the servers.

Really lovely view. But the food was really lacking. I had the risotto a la pescatore. The flavor was ok but the rice was too al dente. Had to switch with my companion who felt the salt was too much. My companion had the lasagne. The beef was tasteless, so much so that the cheese (which wasn't that great) overwhelmed it. Our waiter was patronizing: said that the al dente risotto was the Italian way, and that the finished plate of risotto was proof that it must have been great (it wasn't, we were just hungry). He did apologize at the end and try to make up for it with limoncello shots. We won't be back

Made reservations. Included the occasion and where I wanted to sit. Sorry, but unacceptable. Reservations were at 615, I got seated at 605. Great, they got my table perfect but after 10 mins of sitting, someone came and took my drink order. Waiting 35 mins and had to ask another person walking if my server was ever going to come to my table to take my order. He said yes he would be happy to. Alright. Order gets placed and then another waiter comes to take my dinner order. Ive been finished eating for 30 minutes and no one has checked on my table, refilled my water and it's 8pm. What a waste of my time and birthday. Should have walked out 30 mins after no one came back.

Visited twice and had issues both times with unmarked charges. First night was charged $8 for bread that wasn’t listed on the menu - no warning about the cost. Second night I politely asked if they could provide complimentary bread to make up for the previous charge. They brought different bread and charged $3.50 anyway without clarifying upfront. The bigger problem: their receipts are printed with such poor ink quality that the numbers are barely legible, making it nearly impossible to verify line items before paying. Between the surprise charges and unreadable bills, it feels like the place is designed to nickel-and-dime customers who don’t scrutinize every detail. There are too many good restaurants in Panama City to deal with this kind of treatment.

We read all the great reviews and visited to dine. However, the food was highly disappointing. We ordered the spaghetti with seafood and the fish fillet with vegetables and salad. Both the main dishes had a bland taste (no fresh tomatoes but plain paste) and were too salty. The salad though was fresh but lacked a balanced dressing. The view and atmosphere was pleasant but could not make up for the bad food... We also wanted to try the pizza but they told us it was not available...

A disappointment. We had such high hopes. The location is amazing but everything went wrong. From the prosecco rose, who arrived being white. From pasta carbonara who wasn' t on the menu. My pizza arrived, but not the plate of my wife. Then a beer arrived wich we didn't order. After 25 minutes the penne 'salmon' arrived of my wife. Sadly, the salmon did swim away, it surely wasn't on the plate. Service not to friendly. You pay afor the view, not for the food.
