Eight of us arrived and were immediately greeted with great warmth. We ate and drank very well: the dishes were prepared with the freshest, highest-quality ingredients, carefully presented, and impeccably flavorful. The waiter was extremely kind, professional, and attentive to our every need, making the experience even more enjoyable. I'd like to point out that I'm not writing this review because I was asked to, but simply because the quality of the service and hospitality deserves recognition. The only slight improvement is the reduced distance between tables, although that's entirely understandable given the restaurant's compact size. In any case, this detail didn't detract from the enjoyment of the evening. To top it all off, the (alleged) owner proved to be a truly friendly, affable, and very welcoming person, contributing to a pleasant, family-like atmosphere. Ultimately, this is a place we highly recommend to anyone looking for an evening of good food and a friendly atmosphere.

It was the first time my partner and I decided to visit Carrù. After seeing the adverts online about this town famous for its boiled meats, we decided to book a restaurant, and I particularly liked this one. It was very welcoming, the staff were kind and helpful, and the food was truly delicious. A tip: get the set menu, where the chef chooses what to bring to your table.

A menu focused on tradition that never disappoints; you'll want to try every dish. The boiled meat with sauces and sides is delicious, and the portions are just right for other dishes. Everything is truly excellently cooked and reminiscent of the flavors of yesteryear. Fair prices, a good wine list with local selections. The service is young, friendly, and attentive. Highly recommended.

I hadn't heard of this typical and renowned local restaurant. I felt right at home, longing for some excellent boiled meat. My wish was granted with flying colors. Highly professional and courteous service. Constant, discreet attention. My sincere compliments to the owner, who runs the kitchen, and to his daughter, who looks after the customers at the tables. The restaurant is traditional with a hint of modernity, like the dishes we tasted. From appetizer to dessert, it was a succession of delicious dishes. Definitely recommended and definitely worth returning for. Excellent value. I recommend booking.

My husband and I went for lunch yesterday. Very satisfied. A typical restaurant serving authentic Piedmontese cuisine, since 1950. It was a pleasant discovery, found by chance amidst much research on a Saturday afternoon, while I was looking for a place for Sunday lunch. The name intrigued me, I read the wonderful reviews, and it convinced me. I messaged on WhatsApp and received a prompt response. The dishes are extremely fresh and excellent, prepared to order. In fact, there's a minimal wait, giving you time between courses to catch your breath and chat calmly. The plating also deserves praise, both for the portions and the appearance; see photos. The menu is extensive and well-balanced, from appetizers to desserts. The Russian salad is exquisite, the veal with tuna sauce melted in your mouth, the agnolotti with roast beef sauce just like grandma's, and the rabbit bites with porcini mushrooms and summer truffles were sublime. Here's the real bonet. We regretted not drinking the wine because we had a long drive home, but the native grapes were definitely worth it. Excellent value. The owner is a true hostess; we enjoyed talking to her. The wait staff is extremely knowledgeable and courteous. The atmosphere is typical Piedmontese, revisited in a modern style. The atmosphere is relaxing. The walls are adorned with objects and newspaper articles dating back to times past, retracing the history and traditions of Carru'. Parking is easy to find nearby. We'll definitely be back, perhaps for the boiled meat. Highly recommended.

I've known and frequented this historic restaurant in Carrù for about 55 years. It's always been a top choice for its boiled meats and accompanying saline. In recent years, it has improved and expanded its wine list, in addition to classic Langhe dishes. Price for three courses is around €35-38 per person, excluding wine.

My wife (and our Yorkie) and I decided to head to Carrù for a plate of bollito misto (mixed boiled meats) and a stroll around the area, so I booked a table at Ristorante Moderno for the next day. We were warmly welcomed, and the staff provided excellent service. The restaurant is very elegant and intimate. Preferring to eat lightly to enjoy the bollito misto (mixed boiled meats), we ordered a mixed local antipasto, which was greatly appreciated. Then we moved on to the bollito (boiled meats) accompanied by tasty sauces; the portions were just right. Finally, dessert, a bunet (a kind of pastry) and a hazelnut cake with zabaglione, were equally appreciated. The bill was moderately high, but reasonable considering we also had an €18 bottle of wine.

The last time, to get the glass of wine I'd ordered 20 minutes earlier, I had to search for the waiter and remind him of the order. The risotto turned out to be too salty, but it wasn't added to the bill at checkout. I recommend everyone try this restaurant, which I consider one of the best I frequent, despite some lapses in service that, all things considered, barely impact the culinary experience. Specifically, the traditional Piedmontese dishes are enhanced by the excellent chef's never-out-of-place additions. Personally, I think it's the best restaurant in Carrù, where you can eat boiled meat and more. They're fair with their prices and portions. They've renovated the place, very beautiful and welcoming! Fantastic food as always! Very friendly waiters. I love the boiled meat here; they have a variety of sauces you won't find in other restaurants, trust me! Excellent wine! Traditional desserts.

Good morning, today I was at the Moderno with 5 friends (I had already been there both during the Fat Ox Fair and on other occasions and I had a good time). Unfortunately, I am forced to write a negative review (obviously personal). I went to eat the main course at Carru'... The Bollito!! I wasn't satisfied... some cuts were dry... but worse still, everything was lukewarm... The oxtail then... Almost inedible... Everything was not piping hot!! Sorry... I hope my review helps the staff... Anyway, best of luck to them.

We had lunch with a sampling of three appetizers, a boiled meat dish, and a trio of desserts. The three appetizers included a good battuta al taglio (chopped meat), the veal with tuna sauce was good, and a fondue flan was nothing special. The boiled meat was good, with mashed potatoes and carrots, and a variety of sauces to accompany it. The desserts consisted of a slice of hazelnut cake with zabaglione, which was good, a small slice of bunet (a good dessert), and a pear poached in wine. The pear was presented on the plate cut in half, but unfortunately, the worm inside mine was very visible. In fact, when the waitress came to collect the plates, I told her to tell the chef to check everything carefully.
