Lugar cercano a la 5ta (1 cuadra y media) comida italiana 🤌🏽 de gran sabor, tranquilo y bueno para ir en familia. DESTACADO que tiene opciones de pasta Sin gluten. Los platos de mariscos, pescado, pulpo muy buenos. Pizza bien, 1 esta ok para 2 personas o niños. Porciones muy buenas y traen verduras que complementan bien los platillos. Gran servicio, muy atentos en todo momento.

He ido varias veces con amigas, el servicio es muy bueno, no se demoran mucho y sale todos los platos a la vez, los plantos vienen llenos, son generosos en ese sentido,relación calidad precio genial, en frente tienen estacionamiento!

Trattoria Romeo es uno de los mejores restaurantes que hemos visitado en México. Su comida es TOP. Fresca, buena presentación, delicada de sabor, y aroma. Y ligera en digestión. La atención es excelente, rápida y única en su personal. Es la mejor opción que tienen al llegar a Playa del Carmen. No pueden irse sin visitarlos.

Romeo Trattoria es, sin exagerar, mi restaurante favorito para comer pizza en Playa del Carmen. Cada vez que quiero ir a la segura, vengo aquí. La pizza es delgada, recién salida del horno, bien hecha, con ingredientes de calidad y ese sabor que solo se logra cuando se hacen las cosas con cariño y constancia. Me encanta que siempre mantienen el mismo nivel: masa crujiente, cocción perfecta y porciones bien balanceadas. Es el tipo de lugar al que regresas una y otra vez porque sabes exactamente lo que vas a disfrutar. Pedimos una pizza mitad hawaiana y mitad pepperoni, ambas muy ricas. También probamos los ravioles rellenos de salmón y estuvieron deliciosos. El lugar es un poco pequeño (aunque son dos locales) y solo cuentan con un baño unisex, así que si hay mucha gente puede tocar esperar. Fuera de eso, todo estuvo muy bien y la comida vale totalmente la pena. Te recomiendo hacer reserva, más para la cena por qué luego están full.

The pizza was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked, flavorful, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. You can tell real care goes into every detail. We went there twice during our stay, and it was fabulous food and great service. We should have reserved earlier, but Marco is the young guy who speaks fluent English and seated us anyhow . We tried different pizza and pasta, and they are all excellent. Lobster taliloni , magharita pizza, Romeo pizza, pesto pasta etc . Volcano desert is our favorite desert. Also if you don’t drink alcohol, ask Marco for Italian soda , better than any american ones !

I visited this restaurant after seeing it on a Korean TV show - GBRB: KKPP. I wish I could've ordered an entrée, but I had already eaten so only ordered desserts - tiramisu and affogato. They were both presented beautifully; the tiramisu wasn't super sweet which I liked, and the affogato was amazing! 😊 the espresso, ice cream, and chocolate shavings worked so well together.

I was looking for a good pizza in Playa Del Carmen and I sure lucked out when I found this absolute gem of a authentic Italian pizzeria. I purchased a Hawaiian & a Mexicana for takeout and both pizzas tasted exactly as they did when I was in Rome Italy. The price was fair for the quality and the service was impeccable. So if you’re looking for a delicious pizza make sure to ask for Romeo’s outstanding and amazing host Gonzalo and he will ensure that you are well taken care of and that your taste buds are completely satisfied. One of the greats and long time restaurants in Playa. Food is made fresh and service is always excellent. One of my favorites of all time. I suggest getting reservations a day or so ahead of time because they have very limited seating and they're always packed with people.

Wow! This is hands down the best Italian restaurant in Playa del Carmen. As an Italian myself, I have to say—their pizza is exceptional. We ordered the rucola pizza and it was absolute perfection. The wood-burning oven is clearly top-notch, and the pizzaiolo knows exactly what they’re doing. The crust was perfectly thin yet sturdy enough to hold a slice without it drooping—just the way it should be. I also had the brodo soup, which was rich and comforting. You could tell the tortellini were homemade—so much care goes into their food. My guests ordered the mare e monte pasta, pasta arrabbiata, and truffle ravioli, and everyone was genuinely impressed with their dishes. The wine selection is great, too. I’d recommend the white from Puglia—it paired beautifully with the meal. To top it all off, the service was attentive and warm. We felt so welcome and well taken care of. Looking forward to returning again soon!

Looking for Italian food in Mexico might sound a little unusual, but honestly, it has been a pleasant surprise — and Romeo was no exception. I’ve tried a few Italian spots in the area, and I’ve consistently found that the oven-baked dishes are truly delicious. Romeo stood out not only for its food but also for the overall experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, friendly, and attentive. The staff made sure we felt welcome and were quick to take care of our orders. The food came out promptly, which was great considering how busy the place was. We ordered a few pizzas, and each one was excellent. The mushroom pizza had a perfect balance of flavors — earthy mushrooms, fresh ingredients, and a light yet flavorful sauce that didn’t overpower the toppings. The sausage with prosciutto pizza was equally impressive, with the sausage adding just the right amount of spice and richness. The crust on both was outstanding — crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and baked to perfection in their oven. One helpful tip: if you’re staying in the area, it’s best to walk over. Parking can be a bit of a challenge due to limited spaces nearby. Also, while they have outdoor seating, I recommend sitting inside where you can enjoy the air conditioning and a more comfortable, relaxed atmosphere — especially on hot days. Overall, Romeo offers a wonderful blend of great food, excellent service, and a cozy atmosphere. It’s a spot I’d definitely return to and recommend to anyone looking for quality Italian food while in Mexico.

I recently dined at Romeo Trattoria in Playa del Carmen and had the pleasure of trying their Romeo Salad and Chef Fish dinner, and I have to say, it was the best Italian meal I've had in the area! The Romeo Salad was fresh and vibrant, with a perfect balance of flavors. The crisp greens were complemented by a medley of perfectly roasted tomatoes, topped with permesan cheese and delicious olive oil vinaigrette that tied everything together beautifully. As for the Chef Fish dinner, it was absolutely outstanding. The white fish was perfectly cooked, flaky, and delicate, paired with lite serving of mussels that added a nice touch. The roasted potatoes were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned just right. It was an incredibly satisfying dish, and the combination of flavors made for an unforgettable meal. The entire experience at Romeo Trattoria was better than expected, with attentive service and an inviting atmosphere. We were lucky and were seated right away, but it was very busy so I think you need to make a reservation. Once you try the food, you'll understand why. My kids, who usually don't eat vongole, loved it. The pizza was also amazing. The staff were very friendly and it was a great experience. There's nothing negative about it! I'm so happy to be able to eat such delicious Italian food at this price.

One of my friends recently purchased a home in Playa del Carmen. After a lovely stay at Joia Paraíso, we extended our stay to hang with them at their condo & had dinner at Romeo. Romeo is a long-standing, family-owned eatery serving salads, pizzas & pastas in downtown Playa del Carmen. The eatery is on the south end of downtown Playa del Carmen on 4th St. between 10th & 15th Avenues. The restaurant with the palapa roof is a close walk to Quinta Avenida, a pedestrian-only street lined with restaurants, cafes, stores, a mall, boutique hotels, cultural experiences, & clubs. Patrons are encouraged to call ahead to make reservations, especially if you are ordering risotto for dinner, as the restaurant fills up for dinner (preparation is forty-five minutes). There is a surprisingly decent amount of seating, given the crowded street it is situated on. The eatery is warm & cozy, and there are indoor & covered seating options (note: the seating is real tight). The customer service is excellent, & the staff is conversant in English. We ordered: Tagliolini with Lobster Seafood Pasta Seafood Soup Contadina Salad Pepperoni Pizza We did not have a bad bite at Romeo’s. I wanted to bottle up the spicy & rosemary-infused olive oils that came with the bread service. The tasty Contadina Salad (pears, Brie cheese) was lightly dressed and well-balanced, with sweet, peppery, crunchy, & savory notes. I am normally not a huge fan of seafood soup, but the broth was delicious & well developed. Both pasta sauces were amazing, & I found myself going back and forth between my (red pasta sauce) & my friend’s (creamy white sauce). Romeo’s is also generous with the amount of creamy lobster that comes with the pasta. My friend’s grandson ate with us, & he said the food was better than McDonald’s, high praise for a six-year-old.

I will definitely recommend to make a reservation for the night just to make sure you get a table, specially over 4 persons.

Best find ever! One of the best restaurants ever! Who would expect some of the best Italian food in Mexico (and we’ve been to Italy)! We were searching online for a nearby restaurant and stumbled on Romeo. It’s down an unknown side street and looks like a local restaurant - there are 2 spaces crammed with tables. Make reservations (even the night before) otherwise, it is a very long wait hours. All the food is fresh – fresh bread, fresh homemade pasta… Probably our favorite dish is the clam souté – while listed under soups, this is a meal. The clams are outstanding and not sandy, the sauce is so good that you’ll all be fighting over the toasted bread to soak it up the sauce. Not one clam will be left. The caprese is a light fresh start – fresh mozzarella and basil paired with ripe tomatoes. We love the tagliolini scoglio and tagliatelle mushroom tris italian sausage and truffle – both are superb – cooked to perfection and in flavorful sauces. The salmon is lovely. Pizza is very good. Excellent wine. Service was impeccable. We knew we’d never find another restaurant as good so we reserved the next night. On our second night we made 2 big mistakes – over-ordering and not realizing that a lot of the other pastas are in very heavy (cream) sauces so we were totally unable to finish our food but we still enjoyed it immensely. We started with the caprese with burrata, clam souté and seafood soup. Clam souté was as great as the night before. The seafood soup is very good but the clam souté is better. The eggplant parmesan and lasagna are great but heavy dishes. The shrimp tagliatelle and strozzapreti chorizo are very good but in rich heavy cream sauces. The pulpo octopus a la plancha is outstanding. Save room for the chocolate volcano dessert. Our only compliant is the slightly overpriced water. After a full day of activities, we were particularly thirsty and ordered a lot of bottles because the biggest bottle they have Is 750ml. Six bottles at 105 pesos or $7 a bottle really adds up. In summary, make a reservation (can be done online), do not over-order as tempting as it, relax and enjoy the unbelievable food and friendly service. You won’t want to wait until your next visit.
