Lovely local eatery offering traditional Ukrainian food made of high quality ingredients. The outdoor seating is great and the whole vibe is community based. We enjoyed the dumplings and pancakes- as vegetarians the options are somewhat limited especially when we don't really eat eggs. The other aspect to note is that one orders at the counter and food is brought to you- the tip division is a bit high on the checkout since there is no real table service- of course one has the power to adjust the amount- that said the workers are very nice and the food is definitely on point.

This was my second time visiting Mom Please, and once again it was an amazing experience. The first time I came here, I couldn’t forget the taste of my favorite dishes — the food is so delicious that I knew I had to come back. On my return visit, I was welcomed by another waiter, Mikhail, who immediately made a great impression. Despite the fact that I was in a bad mood that morning, he spoke to me very politely and kindly. His attitude truly brightened my day, and I appreciated his professionalism and warmth. After ordering a cappuccino, I realized I wanted more coffee. Mikhail took the time to carefully help me choose a larger cup and decide which coffee would be best for me. His patience and genuine care made the experience feel very personal and thoughtful. I really love the approach this restaurant takes toward its guests — the service is attentive, the staff is kind, and the food is always outstanding. Everything I’ve tried so far has been flavorful, fresh, and authentically Ukrainian. I will definitely be coming back again. Mom, Please is not just about delicious cuisine, but also about creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for every guest.

Outdoor seating is very cute with nice seasonal decorations and even some toys for the kids to play with. Parking is available in the nearby apartment guest parking lot. Plan accordingly as food can take a bit since they always have lots of orders in the queue.

Pet owners also love the area for its dog parks and welcoming atmosphere. Nature lovers will appreciate the Ballona Wetlands and the nearby beach bike path that connects all the way to Santa Monica. This Ukrainian restaurant nestled beneath a residential complex has become a cherished spot for both locals and Ukrainian expatriates. Founded by a Ukrainian family who sought refuge in LA, the establishment serves as a culinary homage to their homeland . My most fave is the syrnyky—lightly sweetened cheese pancakes accompanied by fresh berries and honey—a must-try. The best pancake I’ve had—small, and not too sweet. Authentic, and very homey!

The best Ukrainian food I have had in a while. As someone who comes from a Ukrainian/Eastern European background, I must say that the syrniky was beautifully done. Tasty, airy, and delightful! Truly a gem.

This place has a true Ukrainian soul. It’s a nice place with quite tasty food. We were just passing through California and decided to stop for some Ukrainian cuisine. The cafe itself is small, but it’s compensated by a pleasant and cozy outdoor terrace. Overall, the food was good, but not at the highest level, so I would give it 4 stars for food. I also tagged this place on my page - @lera_america_ in Instagram so that more people could come and enjoy it. I would definitely come back again, especially for the sea buckthorn tea. Thank you❤️

Absolutely perfect experience!! Olena in the front is the best and very kind to help with explaining the dishes. It is all authentic Ukrainian food and дуже смачно! (Very delicious!) I drove an hour here and will be coming back to say hello and have more! I think I found my new favorite restaurant:))

First of all to those who complain about portion sizes. This how food should be eaten. Proper portion and not stuff yourself till you can't walk. With that being said prices are high, but lot of labor goes into making good food. I eat Ukrainian home made food often and this was first time here. Absolutely delicious. I had Pelmeni with chicken and Syrnyky with Berry sauce. Both were excellent, but the syrnyky specifically...Wow. thick, fluffy, not sweet and the berry sauce perfect. 👌🏼 I will definitely be going back and planning on trying something different each week. Looking forward to the poppy seed bun, because I love proper Eastern European poppy seed pastries. Great and quiet location as well. This is a must try if you like Eastern European food.

Absolutely loved Mom Please in Playa Vista! Such a cozy and welcoming spot with delicious homemade style food that truly brings comfort and nostalgia. The syrniki were heavenly ~soft, slightly sweet, and perfectly golden. The blini were delicate and authentic, just perfect. The Russian Honey cake/ Medovik is so amazing, love it! Everything tasted fresh and made with love. A perfect place to enjoy a relaxed breakfast or brunch ~we’ll definitely be coming back!

This is the most delicious Ukrainian food I’ve ever had in Los Angeles! I discovered this new place called Mom, Please near Marina del Rey, and it instantly felt like home. We stopped by for lunch and the food was amazing. The young woman running the register and serving was very friendly, though she was working the front entirely by herself with just one person in the kitchen. I highly recommend this place for the food experience—as a Ukrainian, I know what I am talking about! Just keep in mind that there might be a wait during busy hours. Overall, the food is so tasty and truly feels like home.

Without exaggeration — it’s the most delicious food I’ve tried and the best service I’ve experienced in the U.S. From the moment I walked in until the very last sip of tea, everything was perfect. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with thoughtful décor and comfortable table arrangements. The menu is impressive and diverse: vegetarians and meat lovers alike will find their favorites here — from dumplings (varenyky), borscht, and potato pancakes to cabbage rolls and more. Every dish is cooked with love and care. The staff are exceptionally attentive, kind, and genuinely welcoming. You feel like an honored guest, not just a customer. I enjoyed this place so much that I decided to celebrate my birthday here — and as a surprise, I was treated to a cheesecake that was perfectly balanced — not too sweet, not too bitter — simply delicious. Horrendous parking, but the outside had this cozy sunflower wall and the food was perfect! I've never had Ukrainian food before and didn't know what to expect, but everything was so delicious and savory that I went back inside to order dessert. The cheesecake was also one of the best I've had, it has little crust so it was light and moist!

Thursday, August 14, 8 PM. I was looking for a nice place to sit and have coffee. I had my dog with me, so it had to be a dog-friendly place. Unfortunately, I live in Santa Monica, and all of the coffee shops there close at 7:08 PM, so my final recommendation is this place, which closes at 9 PM. The girl at the register was adorable, and this is an authentic place. They have Russian/Ukrainian music and coffee, drinks, food, pizza, cheesecake, and sweets. I came back there today, Saturday, August 16, to have a little breakfast, and let me tell you, the coffee is on point. This is the exact coffee that I love with the right balance of caffeine and sweetness. I also had avocado toast with salmon and an egg on top, which was delicious. Regarding parking, there were also a few spots outside the café. One is for future tenants or the physical therapy, but I just parked there since it was the weekend. You can also find parking and get dressed in front of the café. There is a grassy area with benches and a water fountain. Great for pets and kids.

What an amazing hidden gem, a little restaurant/cafe, so cozy, beautiful chairs, in front of a little garden, Marina the server is absolutely lovely and also from Ukraine, they have delicious Ukrainian food, amazing desserts (including a waffle cone with dulce de leche). Special place in Playa!

We seated at the cozy outdoor. It was our first time trying Ukrainian cuisine, and we really love it. Sour cream is perfectly matched with the stuffing of beef pelmeni. Syrniki was a delight. Service was also great. Really enjoyed the experience here. Lastly, the waffle rolls. Love it!

Let me start by saying that I did really enjoy the food. It's just as pretty as the pictures and almost as good as it looks. The space was clean and well decorated. I really should give this place at least 4 stars but the prices, especially the food to dollar ratio, was just too high for such small plates. I'd want either the portions or the quality to go up just a bit and I'd happily give 4 or even 5 stars, but for now there's just too much competition in LA for overpriced fancy eatery.
