I had the best sandwich of my life here! I ordered the make your own sandwich with white bread, chicken cutlet, bacon, cheddar cheese, and lettuce with fries and a Diet Coke. Everything was so magical I closed my eyes and “mmm’ed” and “ahhed” to myself until I sadly realized I only had one bite left.

Always a good idea to go here, the food is good, and the service is fantastic - we have been coming here for dinner at least one day a week the wait staff knows us to the point of "what's to drink". Great job Lisa and your team

We go here annually to celebrate my triplet sisters birthday. One is deceased but we still go. They are always so kind and happy to see us. They have remodeled the Diner and it's very nice and the food is always great!!!!!!

According to my husband this was the "perfect dinner experience". I had the lasagna as well as some fries, cole slaw( tasted much better than I expected) and raspberry ice tea; they were all very yummy!

This is the first time I have been here and I was amazingly surprised. First off they have a huge selection in their menu from breakfast two sandwiches and wraps to dinners. They have Italian, Mexican, seafood, and even their children's menu has at least 10 different options. Their cup of soup is actually a bowl and it's like $2.50. Their servers are very friendly and they are very on point. I got the Buffalo wrap and it was really good a lot better than other places I have been too. Their coleslaw is really good and they make it themselves there. I was very happy with the food the service and everything their prices are fair and it's nice to be able to go eat lunch and the bill is less than $20.

I have frequented this diner a a handful of times over the years (I do not live very close but this is a nice 1/2 way meeting spot for familiy). The Port Ewen Diner is recently under new management - or at least that is what the sign said a short while ago - but the food has consistently been great. They have a decent list on their "specials" board and I have usually ordered from that list - I have never been disappointed. The staff is friendly and the diner seems to always be busy (the customers are very nice as well). The prices are reasonable.

This is not a typical diner whatsoever, why? Because they offer orgAnic ketchup on the tAbles! Corn syrup is loaded in the non organic so I was impressed. Their food is fresh and tasty. A family Place that really is homemade food they care about how they present their food. Soups are great Deserts are great The food that I have seen served us generally great and plentiful. Once in a while not up to snuff but just let them know and they take it back till it's the way you want it when you ordered. Waite stage is generally very pleasant Great atmosphere from gardens driving up to a clean friendly interior and rest rooms just watch out for the Hot water.

1st time visit here. Nice little local diner. We had a great dinner here. Starting with the soup which the bowls are larger than most places and Manhattan clam tasted very good. Strip steak was cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes were creamy and not lumpy or dry. Other dinner was meatloaf and it was flavorful and tasty.Even the cole slaw was good. Great service and very attentive. We will be back for sure.

It was my first time eating there. Immediate service when I entered the door. I ordered one of the specials. Half a chicken that comes with vegetables, soup, salad, and bread pudding. Not bad for the price. The taste was wonderful! The chicken was well seasoned. Just the right amount of vegetables and soup. I had enough for leftovers. I will be back!

Great place -- the atmosphere is quiet, even with a weekend brunch crowd. The food was great -- my daughter's pasta was exactly as she (weirdly) orders it, with no cheese, sauce on the side, etc. That they accommodate picky kids goes a long way with me, who would not, if I were the server! But our waitress was efficient, friendly, attentive, and we had a great lunch.

The resteraunt was fantastic! An oldschool diner feel with great atmosphere, polite and accomodating service, and, most important of all, AMAZING food! Me and my sister each ordered the Big Breakfast which tasted so delicious. Light and fluffy pancakes and waffles, hash browns seasoned just right, savory sausage links, eggs with the right amount of preperation (hers were over-easy, mine were basted), and possibly the BEST bacon I ever had. We will definately be coming back here again should the opportunity arise!

We were upstate and hungry. We stopped at Port Ewen Diner & had some lunch. We’re so glad we found this spot because the food was delicious. They had sweet potato fries which I loved so so much. First time here. Was pleasently surprised even though it a small place it is pleasant and the staff was friendly. I ordered lasagna and enjoyed every bite. I can also say it's mother approved. What a sweet hometown diner! This place, run by husband and wife, has a variety of homemade breakfast, lunch, and dinner choices, a terrific wait staff, and it is clean and friendly. Locals love it, and rightfully so. The desserts are varied. Children and up are always welcome. No alcohol served here. Enjoy!

This is a family restaurant. Each time I've gone in here with my family we've been treated with excellent the food is delicious. The women's restroom is always clean and well stocked. I look forward to many future visits with friends and family to the Port Ewen Diner

The food was good. It's not great, but good. Quick meal friendly staff. The place was clean. It was a little busy when we arrived (all you can eat pasta night), and we had 2 toddlers with our party of 5, so seating was a bit hectic but it all worked out and we were sat rather quickly. Would definitely be going back.

The place is alright. I've had few problems with it. Great place to get breakfast. It's kinda plain looking inside and out, but the food is good for the lost part, and the prices are fair. The staff is OK no problems there. The only problems are usually with the order being messed up or something being wrong with the family of. Like the time there was a spider in the beans....gross. other than that it's good. The food isn't great but it's good and at a low price. Mid grade diner in the area.

Good for what it is. A diner with decent food at decent prices. Dropped in with my little ones and their children's menu was varied enough for both of them to order something different. I ordered the Port Ewen burger and it was cooked well. There was nothing wrong with it, HOWEVER if you're reading this Port Ewen, consider adding either a Chipotle or a creamy sauce to enhance the flavor of the beef. It was a bit busy so I understood why my waiter was occupied but she was courteous and tended to us appropriately.

We've eaten here before. Clean, nicely decorated, good food, friendly staff. I ordered the gyro. It would have been better with lamb, or a lamb and beef mix instead of all beef. It was ok, but not the flavor I was used to getting, as it's something I order regularly elsewhere. Unfortunately, they didn't have lamb for the gyro or souvlaki.

It's a really nice diner. Low key, all the usual favorites with some twists. My spinach and feta omelet was a perfect diner example of this omelet. Good english muffin, good coleslaw. My husband's greek chicken wrap was also good. The fries were crispy and fresh tasting. We'll be back!

I stopped at the Port Ewen Diner during a weekday in July, 2023. I drove in the wrong way according to the signs. It seems like they have a one way in and one way out system. Well, I failed that when turning in quick coming from the north. Between the quick approach to an unfamiliar customer, crossing the lanes and on coming traffic, I failed. I had been to this diner many years ago, but this was like a new experience years later. The diner isn't very large. But it seems to have more tables than you might think from looking at the building. The building seems just right. It is laid out well. It did take quite a while to get service. But they were somewhat busy at the time. But when we ordered, the food came out fairly quickly. The food was decent and we enjoyed it. It was basically breakfast and it's hard to screw up breakfast. Yet you would be surprised how many places that I've been has done just that. This diner made me a decent breakfast. And the price was overly expensive. So I wouldn't say this wasn't the fastest meal ever. But everything was adequate and very acceptable. When I add up the positives, they far outweigh any minor flaws I might have seen. So I do recommend the Port Ewen diner. Besides, there are not a lot of good options close by. That makes them more enticing.

Clean and gets busy, but their portions used to be bigger. Went there for lunch and breakfast and thought both portions had gotten smaller. My husband ate lunch there and was hungry. The wrap was small and they were skimpy with the french fries. I had caesar salad , but got the large and it was a good portion. I think small would be too small. Soup cold.

Very disappointed the last time we went there, which was two days ago. We ordered home fries without onions and asked for them to be crispy. Not only did they serve them to us WITH onions but the home fries were burnt. We have been going there usually once a week, but it will be a long time, if ever again, that we go there.

Waitress let us sit there for 8 minutes before telling us that the grill is being repaired and they are not serving breakfast. We had to leave hungry and as we were leaving she gave us a inappropriate face. Also, she did tell other people within 30 seconds.

My 9 year old son ordered the kids chicken nuggets. He loves chicken nuggets, but didn't like theirs at all. My husband and I both tried them and didn't think they were very edible either. The outside of it was so hard, couldn't easily cut it with a knife. Once we finally cut it in half, the meat looked disgusting. I tried it and the breading was so hard, reminded me of a hard plastic, the inside was like chewing on rubber. Tasted nothing like a chicken nugget. There were 5 of us and we each had something different and none of us liked our meal. The shrimp had way too much lemon on it, felt like you were eating a lemon and not a shrimp. Will not be going back. This is the second time we have been there and disappointed both times. Will be going elsewhere where we know we like the food.

This used to be a great diner. After staying here for 6- 7 years me and my family have stopped. After randomly having endless issues when we order. We’ve had pork sausage given to us when we asked for turkey on numerous occasions, Clearly religion or allergies don’t matter. The last straw was hair in the cheese. It’s sad we’ve complained so many times we know Ruthie by face and voice. This diner was nice to go to as a Sunday tradition but after 5-6 issues when ordering take out, it’s just not worth it. TERRIBLE WAITRESS AND SERVICE: NEVER GOING BACK Update from 2 yrs ago: The food is still decent but the service is unbelievably HORRIBLE. This one waitress, in particular, is so daggon rude. My friend and I went for breakfast last month and this terrible waitress kept cutting me off while ordering, rolling her eyes and then went so far as to throw our cups and food when she brought them to the table. Moving forward from that I decided to order food and pick up. Just yesterday, 15th October 2021, I placed my order over the phone. I was admit about ordering angel hair pasta with Alfredo sauce. The girl on the phone, so happen to be that terrible waitress, took my order. After she gave options for protein, I declined the chicken and shrimp and requested salmon. Long issue short, I arrive to the restaurant. She tells me of my order I stated that I ordered the pasta Alfredo. This terrible waitress decides to argue me down stated that I cancelled the angel hair Alfredo to get the Salmon dinner INSTEAD. She then went on to say that she could add the pasta for $5 extra!! I then stated, forget it all. Service has gone to garbage here. And that waitress is just despicable. I wouldn't advise going to this restaurant at all.

I used to love this place. New owners are rude, food is not even close to the same quality, they let people bring in their dogs in and let them eat off tables and plates. So sad this was my go to place to eat and visit, not anymore.

It's a shame what this place has become. Years ago this used to be one of the best places in town to eat, now not so much. The last cheeseburger deluxe I got from there was absolute tasteless and the fries tasted like they sat in a freezer for 10 years.
