Great food. Typical hotdogs, hamburgers, etc, but has specialty items like Michigan hotdogs. Beer battered onion rings and sweet potato fries are out of this world. Reasonable prices! Currently, due to covid restrictions, masks required at counter, and no public restrooms.

Gene's has the best Michigan sauce I've tasted. The staff is friendly and efficient. There are numerous picnic tables for outside dining.

Exactly what we were looking for. Lunch any time if day. A wide variety of food. We shared the double lobster roll. Service was good. Lots of picnic tables, some in the shade.

I really like the grilled chicken wraps, you tell them what veggies you want and dressing. Shrimp basket is another fave. Fast and friendly service.

Seeking out a Michigan dog as I now reside in Missouri and was missing my days growing up here. Gene's nailed it. And then they served a ridiculous sized Ice cream. My kids now know and love Michigan's. There staff was efficient and polite most looked to be teens but they were professional. an excellent experience for a roadside stand. Thanks

Literally the best Michigan's I've ever had and the staff is very friendly. Prices are a bit high for some things but they have a pretty amazing menu ranging from mac bites to Michigan's to even certain seafood. 10/10 would reccomend

Last time here, we had three michigans; this time we had five, for the two of us. Enough said...get extra napkins and don't wear white shirts or blouses.

Apparently everywhere else I've lived has never heard of Michigans before, or has an otherworldly misconception of what they are. Nice to revisit the home land once in awhile and indulge in some of it's finer indigenous cuisine. This place has the classic setup with the windows and wait with the usual foods and soft serve ice cream. All fairly decent. Very fast too. Worth a stop if you're passing thru. I recommend getting it to go then travelling either two minutes to one of the beaches, the boat dock, or a few more minutes into crown point and sitting and eating by the bridge, for some pleasant eating views .

This has been a family traditional place the Michigan dogs are very good . It is a bit pricey but for a special treat well worth the trip.

Michigan Dog was pretty close to a Flint Coney Island, just a little too sweet but the soft serve was delightful.

Food was good , it was pretty busy when we went 7 o'clock ish service was fast .. didnt have ice cream but plan on going back for it..

My first Michigan Dog which was quite good. The sauce is a little sweeter than I thought it was going to be. Chicken Caesar salad had a LOT of croutons and came in a paperboard container (nice).

I remember this place when I used to come up here as a kid (34 years ago). Still great for Michigan's and Ice Cream. I still haven't found out why they call them "Michigan's" or why they boil the hotdog and dont have a grilled option. Either way, good stuff

Awesome ice cream sundaes and loved the Michigan's. The only suggeation would be to grill those dogs and not boil them. First time in 30 years that I had been back in town, didn't disappoint

Was excited to try this place, but felt let down. Michigan dogs were cold. I think if they were sufficiently warm they would have been amazing. Fries were very good. Mozz sticks and chicken tenders were meh, and clam rolls were outright bad. Soft serve ice cream was good, as was the orange milkshake, yum. Might try again to see if this was a fluke.

I like stopping at Gene's for one last cup of ice cream when leaving the Adirondacks region. Someday I'm going to have lunch there, but until then I'll just eat ice cream as soon as they open on Sundays.

Good service and reasonable wait. The hot dog bun is much bigger than it used to be and they seemed to be a little skimpy on the michigan sauce and onions. The fries and onion rings are way over priced too....

Soft Ice cream has no flavor, tastes like water. Not going again, not impressed at all.

Took 45 minutes to get food that was ordered after being told 20 minutes. Food was cold. Michigans not made the way ordered. Very disappointed in this visit.

We expected a longer wait, but when it was almost an hour and they wouldn't admit they lost our order, we won't be going back. The food was only average and portion was small.

Overpriced for 4 clam strips and overcooked under seasoned curly fries. Very long wait and not great service. Rather eat at the gas station up the road

Food was hit or miss. My Fish sandwich with curly fries was tasty and hot. My husband had Michigans that were luke warm. Prices were high for the quality.

Last Summer (2021) I went a few times. It was okay. I recently went a week ago (July 2022). I had the chicken tenders which were over cooked and dried out. They were not good at all.

Very long wait. Michigans are not good, they weren’t even warm, they were literally cold! the sauce is very sweet and the rolls were hard and dried out. Fried mushrooms were cold. Nothing was that good for the expensive price. Best part was the ice cream which was just your normal soft serve cone, just average.

The food is pricy and nothing special; service is very hit or miss. In a more densely populated area with more competition that wouldn't fly. But since they're in the middle of nowhere...

Just wondering how you can mess up a grilled cheese twice.. pay 5 dollars for two end pieces of bread and then tell them and get a new one and the cheese isn't even melted it's still whole.

Me and my family are ashamed to say we ate at this establishment. I was treated very rudely by the lady at the window. When I was trying to order my food I was completely ignored until I finally had to yell to get her attention. When I got my order it was completely wrong. Literally not one part of the order was right. Me and my family will never ever order at this terrible place again.

ate at the picnic tables. we were there last Sat (24th of sept) and were very disappointed..we usually come here at least 2 times a year as we live in the Syracuse area.we were brought up in this area while in school and have always loved this food..Sat. the hotdogs were just luke warm,sauce was not even that and fries and onion rings were greasy.Has management changed recently?..I have been working in the restaurant business for 45 years so I do know what i am talking about..just so disappointed

Very disapointed, I was so looking fwd to my annual nostalgic stop. To be let down with overcooked beer battered onion rings and the hot dog in the Michigan was nasty, at first I thought maybe overcooked,sat to long to is it a turkey dog to it being no good. The sauce was more acidit then it should be. When the next customer ordered Michigan's without the hot dog that should've gave me a hint. On a positive note the onions were diced peefectly. Disappointed is all I can say. Maybe it'll be better next year.
