Changing this review based on feedback from Hopper Haus. They're right - we missed a lot and the review was not fair. Will visit again next trip. Original review: I like the theme and the sign and the small star hopper out front, but was kind of disappointed that it seemed like just another bar. We didn't stay. The faucet handles in the bathroom are cool though.

What a great spot! We're staying at the Margaritaville Resort and wanted a beer and brat. Just a quick trip over the causeway. The food was great and the atmosphere was awesome! . The staff was very welcoming and on the ball the entire time, not a single complaint. We will definitely stop by the next time we are back in the Port Isabel area. Great job!!

Stopped in for a quick bite and a beer. My food was excellent and my beer was perfect! They have several dishes I would love to try, and I can't wait to have another ice-cold beer here! There are plenty of TVs and a very friendly atmosphere. Put this place on your to-do list and bring friends or make some.

Hopper Haus is a friendly spot to kick back with delicious food and drinks! The tacos were a standout, loaded with fresh avocado, crumbled cheese, and vibrant garnishes that packed a flavorful punch. Paired with crispy, thick-cut potato chips, tangy pickled onions, and a duo of dips (ketchup and a zesty green sauce), it was a satisfying meal. The refreshing beer tied it all together perfectly. The rustic wooden tables and casual vibe make this a great place for a laid-back hangout with friends.

🐺 Great Spot for a Bite and a Drink – Dog-Friendly Too! Stopped by Hopper Haus Bar & Grill for lunch with my dog and had a great experience. I sat on the front patio, which was perfect in terms of temperature and shade, though the back patio looked even better—just a little too sunny at the time. The traffic was a bit loud, but that’s to be expected on a busy Friday with tourists rolling into town. Service was excellent—fast, friendly, and attentive. I might have even spoken with the owner a few times as he checked in to make sure everything was good. I ordered the Lettuce Wrap Shrimp Tacos, which came in a crisp romaine leaf with shrimp, cabbage, cheese, and other fresh toppings. They were delicious and paired well with the crispy criss-cut waffle fries. The bar had a great selection of beers on tap, but I went with a cider, which was a nice, refreshing choice. From what I’ve heard, this place really comes alive at night, with trivia nights, live music, and even a chance to chat with SpaceX employees and locals. Definitely planning to come back and check it out in the evening. If you’re looking for good food, fast service, and a laid-back patio atmosphere (dog-friendly, too!), Hopper Haus is worth a visit. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Fantastic food, beer & service. Had the Texas Jaeger Schnitzel with German Potato Salad. I lived in Germany for 6 years. It's the best Schnitzel I've had in the Lone Star State! We'll be back. Thanks

My friend told me to go here during our stay to watch Starship Test Launch 3, and we loved everything! We had a beer flight, fried mushrooms, and tacos. The atmosphere was very laid back, and we met many friendly people here.

Food = alcohol... Craft beers were quite nice. Nice selection of Texas liquor along with a lot of the usual favorites. Great decor, great vibe, very nice staff. This is a locals spot for sure. We came in on Trivia night and stuck around for a round as it was fun to watch and laugh along. Prices are cheap. They got some local food favorites for sure. These "nachos" kept coming from the kitchen heaped high with meat and fixins. Wish I would have eaten there that night... This place seems like a great hang. We greatly enjoyed it.

Very cool, low key restaurant in port Isabel near the lighthouse. Food was good (and relatively healthy), drinks were good (a couple beers brewed onsite) and staff very friendly. We went for lunch along w locals. Plus can watch sports inside or outside. Probably much busier in the summer. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

This spot is awesome right before the island. The food was super fresh and the live music on the back patio added on to the atmosphere. I haven’t met a friendlier bar staff either! Only complaint is that they should add more fans outside to create a breeze and maybe spray for mosquitos or have big spray out cause those little citronella candles weren’t working and unfortunately made us depart sooner than we wanted. But will def be returning customers!

We really like Hopper Haus food and beer. However, there’s a lady, don’t know if she’s management or just a waitress but gives us a hard time. My husband and I went for a launch party. We were on the patio. They quit serving during the actual launch so this employee and others were leaving to get a better view. She looked over at us and said to get out of the parking lot, which is attached to the patio with our beer. Of course we understand it’s the law but she said nothing to a family beside us. So we go for the Super Bowl and I booed the Seahawks. She yelled at me from across the bar to our table and said we don’t do that here. My husband and I got up to leave and she followed us and yelled at us all the way to the parking lot and told us don’t come back. I said we won’t, no one comes here anyway. Maybe she only likes regulars or certain types of people, IDK but the owners need to know. Can’t wait for their response. Check out the response they give to other negative reviews. Very aggressive.

To the Management/Ownership: I am writing to formally address a significant failure in customer service I experienced at your establishment. Damn even Stevie Wonder could've seen me patiently waiting for any type of acknowledgement. I was given a menu, and sat for almost 40 minutes. (Mind you the place isn't even crowded) I'm not the type to walk on people's faces and make requests, I had the decency to let the place breathe and the people work as fast as they could. During this time, the bartender, whose role is customer service, made multiple trips near my table, including cleaning an adjacent one and interacting with another patron. This clearly demonstrated that my presence was noted but deliberately overlooked. There is a distinct difference between being busy with orders and a blatant disregard for a person waiting to be served. You know people ain't busy when they have the time to make conversation with one single person sitting at the bar, I've seen more flirting skills on Disney channel. If I'm wrong fyi I love people making conversation with the customers get that money! But in front of other people clearly waiting for someone to take their order, it's corny and unprofessional. Due to this experience, I will not only be taking my personal business elsewhere but will also be directing my friends to alternative establishments. It is a fundamental expectation of any service industry business that their staff possess basic engagement skills and common sense when dealing with customers. This incident reflects poorly on your business's values and operating standards. That's how crowded the place was btw:
