Made a great sub for my Granny's 90th! The bread was amazing! The staff were also very polite and helpful, they even carried the sub out to the car for me! Thank you guys!
Really good sandwiches. I had an authentic Italian. Good Boar's Head meat. Friendly serve. Came on a nice, fresh long roll.
This double meat double toppings Big Paulie changed the trajectory of my day. This is a masterpiece! This thick specimen of a sandwich is what it’s all about. This is the type of sandwich that keeps you coming back! Thank you guys for capping off my week with a workout (from walking home with this 6.5 pound bag) and a full belly. I will see you again soon!

i eat here all the time. Hess' is my emotional support subs
It's a great deli, managed very well, and always has been.
My group visited here after tubing down the river and this couldn’t have been a better place to stop at. The food is delicious and when you look around at the news clippings and other knick knacks, you get to see the history this place holds here. It was fun to look around and even better getting to enjoy these delicious sandwiches.
I've been living in another state for 12 yrs. Came back to PA and had to try a Hess' sub sandwich. Even though I was dismayed that there were a bunch of bad reviews, I still had to have an Italian sub, everything on it, plus extra meat. So I stopped in. Friendly staff, very clean premises, and good parking right outside. I also tried the macaroni salad, which was good. But, the highlight was a half pound of their seafood salad made with shrimp and surnami. It was THE best anywhere, ever! I will have that next time on a sandwich roll. The sub was simply delicious and as good as ever. If they had issues during covid, I can honestly say they corrected and are still the best sub around! Near to Rt 84, too, if you're traveling and get off at the first exit for Port Jervis. Use your GPS to go to Hess' Deli and pick up breakfast, lunch, or an early dinner about a mile into town. You'll be glad you did. This place is awesome and beats those national chains' hands down! I highly recommend it!!! You'll enjoy it as I always have. I'm sure you'll keep coming back!

Bread could have been a bit softer other then that great flavor of the sub had the "Big Pauly" next time I would sub out the provolone for their havarti jalapeno cheese should be a great try! Great sub did the works and no go on the coleslaw too oily 😄

Got a big Pauly and one of the weakest sandwiches. Just ham and salami with one thick slice of cheese. Quite disappointed
Great Sandwiches for the area. We ordered a 4 sandwiches over the weekend (2 hard rolls, 1 sub and 1 with white bread). $32.00 Not only was the cost a little steep for this store, the sandwiches were smaller than usual. They even used the end part of a bread loaf as one of the slices to the sandwich on the white bread. Nobody eats the end part EVER as part of a sandwich.

This is the saddest excuse for an Italian sub I've EVER seen. Ordered 1 sub and 2 hard roll sandwiches today and all of them hardly have any meat on them. Hess's used to be the best but this... this is pathetic.

These sandwiches barely have any meat on them you can't raise the price and your make these next to nothing kinda of sandwich. They need to do better these little meat sandwiches are sad. Everyone say it's the best that's impossible. I well return to my original sandwich shop because this is not it.
Worst decision by a sub place, decided to not only reduce the sub size but increase the cost...food still tastes great but changed to rip you off on the portion sizes and act as if this has been the same size they have always offered. Sad seeing a place I used to love going to act that way...I get increasing prices but giving less food on top of that is terrible. Just go back to full sized subs and charge accordingly at least people won't be feeling ripped off like they do now when they eat the whole sub and are still hungry.
I ordered two sandwiches today both on white bread and the bread was hard and most likely stale. This is the first time I've been there in a long time and won't be going back. I just hope the meat was fresh because I already have GI issues and don't need anymore problems.
Bought some Cheddar from them as I was eating it towards the last few slices, which would have been the first few slices they sliced had a little Green mold in the corners of the slices. They proceeded to tell me it was the black wax that rubbed off on it. Which it was not, cause the green was embedded in the cheese not just on top. There is a distinct difference between the color of Black wax and the color GREEN. it being green and in the cheese and not just on top was an obvious tell it was mold not the wax
I went in the store yesterday for a buttered hard roll with sliced american cheese, how much could this cost right? when i got there the kid must have been new because he said when i got there that he had to ask the manager how to ring my order up, no problem. I GOT CHARGE 16.50 for two. first of all how much is a muttered rill and how much does 3 slices of cheese cost? I’ll never go back 🤦🏻♀️😒😡. This is not the boys fault behind the counter that rang me up!
Ordered over phone asking how much The order was was given a price, was different when paying, ordered a turkey sub Swiss cheese no lettuce no tomato, order a turkey on a hard roll mayonnaise lettuce extra tomato. Now remember I ordered a turkey sub without lettuce or tomato. But ask for extra tomato on my hard rolling got charged for it. Not to mention the Swiss cheese that I asked for on my sub was paper thin I could read the newspaper through it and only have three slices. I knew the Hess family very well. I'm a senior citizen I don't eat out much because of the price of things. I thought I would treat myself. I was very disappointed. I had the exact change that they quoted me over the phone. But when it came to pay I had to use a card that I didn't want to use so now I'm short on money for the month. Like I said I'm a senior citizen counting my dimes.
Y'all making red velvet cookies and its all chocolate make them with out chocolate SMH
DO NOT TRUST THE FRESHNESS OF THE MEAT!!! Worst hero I ever had Roast beef was dry and some of it turning bad. The sub bread was good but meat thrown out. Wish I could attach a pic of the 2 different roast beefs on the sandwich. Half of it was grey the redish one I assume was fresher was still dry but at least did not have the sour turning taste the rest did.
I have never had the hardest bagel than today! I couldnt even bite into it! I guess they figure if they toast it people won’t know!!!! Welp when you can’t even bite into its so hard we can tell
