I came by while I was visiting Port Washington and I had the best experience! The food was fantastic and our server, Paige, was EVERYTHING. Loved her! She truly made our time there great.
I don’t usually leave reviews, but Alex deserves it. Normally at the Smithtown Dirty Taco, today he was in Port Washington and we lucked out. Super attentive, friendly, and actually knows the specials and menu. His recommendations were spot on. Great guy, great service.
Love how fresh the food is! The artwork is phenomenal! Mustafa (not sure how he spells his name sorry) was so helpful. Although he wasn’t our waiter, he made it his business to help the group the entire evening. Great service!
Paige is the best waitress I have ever had. So kind and always checking on our party. We came with a large group and she was super accommodating and friendly!!! LOVE HER!!!
Came with friends and family and had the best time. We were seated outside with an incredible view of the bay. The waitress gave the kids crayons and coloring paper. Service was excellent and food / drinks came quick even though they were very busy. The drinks were on point. The tacos were delicious and chicken dumplings were out of this world. Everything had explosive flavors. Highly recommended!
Lisa is awesome: thank you for taking such good care of us! Good food and chilled dog friendly outdoor restaurant ! Ceviche and curry mussels for the win !
Wish I took more pictures because its such great ambiance . If you want to feel like you are on vacation when you have not left the island I highly suggest a night at Dirty Taco in Port Washington. You’ll feel like you’re on a tropical resort. Went this afternoon and could tell this is definitely one of those places you want to go to on a Friday or Saturday night when the dj is playing. What an awesome spot. The best part is the prices are so fair and reasonable. We had the loveliest, nicest waitress named Carrie. She is the epitome of what customer seebice should be. I need to gather up a group of friends and head there on a weekend night. Food was delicious and the cocojito started my weekend off in a good way.
Such a cool atmosphere and the food was amazing! John the GM and Rachel were great and helpful!! Highly recommend.
Omg Tom and Kat rub a beautiful place ! Food service our waiter Stephano John the manager were over the score of 100. Could not ask for more ! Highly recommend! Steve G
Seriously good food and great service. The stir fry bowl was awesome. Also, you can get their cocktails without alcohol
Our waiter Johnny was outstanding The food was delicious and the view was amazing. Had to talk to Johnny and dirty taco. Keep up the good work.
First time ever eating at this establishment and honestly from start to finish everything was great, and our waiter John, did everything in his power to make me and my mother’s time there welcoming. Definitely a good vibe, food, and drinks… 10/10
Service was amazing. The female owner made sure we had a table with shade. Sunny hot day. The entire staff was great. Everything we ordered was delicious. Drinks were refreshing and hit the spot. The atmosphere was perfect. And the bill came in under than we expected. It's definitely a place we will return to. A MUST GO TO SPOT!!!!!!!!
I went to Dirty Taco & Tequila in Port Washington to hear a friend's band. Since there was an hour wait for a table the owner, Tom, offered to seat us at an outdoor counter-style section over the marina and we gladly accepted. The innovative cocktail menu had sweet for my friend and spicy for me...I went with the Spicy Ginger Craft Margarita and she got the Strawberry Kiwi Craft Margarita. The menu is vast, with spicy items clearly marked (but our waiter, Justin, still made sure to mention and ask if I was OK with spicy when I ordered), and with both the cash and credit card prices clearly marked for each item. We shared an order of Sweet Thai Chili chicken wings and the Dirty Nachos. I then ordered one Pork Carnitas Street Taco and one Mango Salmon Street Taco from the special menu; my friend got one Vietnamese Shrimp Street Taco and the Ceviche from the special menu. We loved that the tacos are ordered individually so that we could mix and match; the order of Ceviche was huge and she packed it to go (said her eyes were bigger than her stomach). Even though the place was extremely busy inside and out, the food and drinks came out quickly...and Tom (the owner) was checking to make sure the customers were happy (he came by more than once). Justin was a great waiter and was quick to bring out extra napkins, straws, utensils when we asked even though he was obviously extremely busy. It's not fine dining...but you don't go expecting it to be. After we ate, we walked over to the outdoor bar section where the band was playing and joined the other customers singing and dancing. It's a cool place with a fun vibe and something for everyone on the menu, reasonably priced (and no extra charge for the waterfront views or live music), with attentive service and an owner who is working hard to make everyone happy.
Love love Dirty Taco Port Wash!! Staff is exceptional!! Everyone is so happy, fun, will remember you and treat you like family. Food is creative, generous and delicious. Relatively inexpensive so value is amazing. Super fun atmosphere and views.
A beautiful place to sit and vibe, highly recommend sitting outside and feeling the breeze while Overlooking the marina! Our server was absolutely phenomenal and super super attentive, which made everything 10x better. If you’re looking for a place to eat and having a drink, eat some good food, this is the place for you!
Went for a ladies night and had a great time. The waiter Johnny provided amazing service. The food was great especially the wings Brussels sprouts and the tacos. Def coming back at noon for the view.
My wife and I went here for the first time on August 27. We brought our dog and sat outside. Everyone we encountered was nice, friendly and helpful. Our waitress was terrific, and the food was even better. We had five tacos between us plus the ceviche special. Highly recommend this place.
I went there with my wife to enjoy some music and drinks. The place was packed. They said the wait was 30 minutes, but they seated us in 20. Our waiter Johnny was excellent as was the manager Johnny A (I might have mixed up the names lol). I wanted to compliment their service, so I spoke with the owner Tom. Btw he was busy working the tables, but took time out to talk to me. Overall, it was a great experience with great food and drinks. We plan on going back very soon.
Incredible place to be on a Friday evening, the place is beautiful, the ambiance is incredible with live music, staff is really good and the food is exceptional. Very generous tacos for the price, I was impressed by the Ahi tuna taco and the calamari one. Work the waiting time, just go and enjoy drinks at the bar while you wait for a table
Absolutely enjoyed the experience at dirty taco today. The atmosphere was fantastic and our server definitely helped make our experience even better. He was very attentive and brought everything out on time the tacos were hot and fresh. 10/10 service experience with Mustafa he was on top of it the whole time. Would recommend!
By far one of my favorite waterfront restaurants on Long Island! Recently came in and just wanted to give a shoutout to my server Moustafa! All his recommendations were 10/10 and his attentiveness was so genuine. He kept the energy high and was hilarious with his banter. Would definitely recommend Dirty Taco any night he works.
Love this place! They only Dirty Tacos with a marina view!! Feels like your on vacation. We had dirty nachos and mussels in coconut curry. To die for!!!! They serve with love and abundance . Stefano and Zayden were warm friendly. A must try and experience the vibe.
Celebrated my friends 15 birthday! Our server was Patrick and he was super kind and gave us all amazing Shirley temples! John also came in to sing happy birthday with everyone and brought the taco hat 😂
Food was great, vibes were awesome! Our server Frankie was so nice and funny! John was also hilarious, will def be coming back!
Definitely come here early on a nice day either for lunch or dinner. Get filled up very quickly! They told us how they had 2500 guests and stayed open past closing time on a nice Saturday night when their average number of guest would be 1500 for dinner.
Went for some lunch and a few drinks with a couple of buddies. Was seated relatively fast and had excellent service. Our server Mous made sure we weren’t waiting on our drinks for to long and the food was amazing.
Great food and great service. John, the GM, greets everyone with a smile and handshake! I’m impressed! Margaritas or the best I have had in years, and I’ve “tasted” a “few”. Keep up the great work! Thanks John and Demi, our server!
Not just a classic taco joint, with a great atmosphere. The ingredient concoctions on the menu just work and bring flavors from all over into taco form we all love. All 3 tacos I got were fantastic and wings were crispy (with sauce on side). Corn side dish could use a bit more cheese/seasoning and quesadilla was not exciting after eating the tasty tacos. Bring a light sweater and leave in your car as the outdoor seating is next to the water and can get pretty chilly, especially in the evening.
We decided to try this out for a birthday dinner. When we arrived, there was a 30-45 minute wait for our party of 5. We didn’t get a call that our table (which was only Available inside) was ready till over an hour later. However, by that time, we decided to sit at the high top tables near the tiki bar, and we received service from the bar tender (Jamie). Jamie was bombarded with customers but she served everyone in a timely manner while maintaining quality and consistency across the board!! She made great recommendations on the food menu, and she was so personable! Her margs were also phenomenal! I would go back just to sit at the tiki bar with Jamie’s service!
We are huge Dirty Taco fans, and this is hands down my new favorite location. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted with a warm approach that makes you feel great ( host Stephaine ). The gorgeous, unique location makes you feel like you're on a quick vacation. There is a large parking lot! Food and drinks are consistent at each location. Great drinks and food come out hot and fresh. If you go, I hope you have Server Anna. She is truly the best! Overall, I highly recommend this location! It's worth the trip.
What a sweet spot to be by the water and enjoy fresh seafood and tacos. The outdoor seating is perfect her son worshipers and they have plenty of shade as well. The service was very impressive. They The food came out very quickly. Fresh ansn delicious ingredients
The service was wonderful! Our server Cristy was friendly, prompt, and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. She made great suggestions from apps to specials and to the drinks. We had tarter to nachos and the wings for apps. Then went for the lobster taco and mussels from the special which we will definitely be back for . And of course the drinks she suggested were top notch !!’ We definitely will be back!! If you do go ask to sit with Cristy !!!
First time coming on a Saturday night with my coworkers after work and we had the best time. The food and ambiance was to die for. We had an amazing server named Cristy who made great recommendations and the service from her was out standing. She had such a friendly and bubbly personality, my friends and I had the best time. Will definitely come back!
Dirty Taco is always a great time, but having moose as our server made the experience even better! The vibe of the restaurant is fun, lively, and full of energy. Super friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down. The tacos and drinks were insanely good. If you’re looking for great food, good music, and awesome service, definitely ask for Moose. We’ll be back soon!
If I said that the best part of the restaurant was overlooking the bay, that would be true. Also true: the food was wonderful, service excellent and the entire experience a pleasure. We went with a friend who " doesn't like tacos", yet she found something on the menu which will cause her to return. Prices are reasonable. I highly recommend.
If happiness had a happy hour, it would be at this place. The food? Delicious. The drinks? Dangerous in the best way. But the real star of the show was Johnny “Dirty Taco”—the man, the myth, the legend of servers. He didn’t just bring us tacos, he brought us joy. He made ordering margaritas feel like a life decision, and honestly, I’d trust him with my taxes at this point. If you go, ask for Johnny. If Johnny isn’t there, turn around and come back another day. That’s how good he is.
We had Paige as our server, AKA Miley Cyrus who was the best vibe!! She was amazing!!!! The food & drinks were absolutely delicious!! We had a table of 8, & everything was super smooth. The prices & the menu are pretty reasonable, & the food is consistently good. We celebrated a birthday so Paige made sure to celebrate the birthday girl. 🥰🥰🥰 We will definitely be back! Thank you Paige for holding it down!!!
Just had a wonderful lunch at Dirty Taco. Our server Jonny was delightfully helpful and attentive. The special lobster taco was one of the best lobster items I’ve ever eaten in my life and well worth the MP (you only live once, am I right?). The Vietnamese taco and the Cuban taco were also delicious but the lobster taco was just tops.
Food, service, and atmosphere are great. Drinks are made wonderfully, I normally get the Asian pear, and tacos always taste great. Rotated around the menu and haven’t found one I’ve disliked. I do think their lobster taco special is too expensive for the size of it. Love ending the night with the churros or tres leches.
I had the best time celebrating my birthday with my friends tonight at Dirty Taco + Tequila in Port Washington. The ambiance was so welcoming and the art work was incredible! I loved being right on the water. Our waitress Stephanie was so attentive, warm, and professional. Her positive attitude and care truly made my night extra special. The food was fresh, full of flavor, and I loved the unique variety of appetizers and tacos on their menu. Thank you Stephanie!
One of the best restaurants I’ve been to. I can’t say enough about how delicious the food was, but the waitstaff was even better. Our server Rachel was kind and came by often to see if we needed anything. And the general manager John made sure to see my sister’s birthday dinner was perfect. 10/10 would recommend to anyone and will definitely be back! -The Professor
Long Islanders ! I can’t say enough good things about this place! From the moment I walked in, the vibe was warm and inviting, with the delicious aroma of freshly grilled meats, fish, poultry and spices in the air. The staff was super friendly and helpful, especially the waitress Emily who made great recommendations for first-time visitors. I tried the steak and fish tacos, and every single one was packed with flavor and incredibly fresh ingredients. The flour tortillas tasted homemade, and the toppings were thoughtfully balanced—not too much, not too little. Don’t skip on the watermelon basil margaritas either; they add the perfect kick to any occasion. The food came out super fast, everything was hot and beautifully presented, and the prices were more than reasonable for the quality. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch or sitting down for a casual dinner with friends, this spot is a must-try. Also, Big shout out to Ann Marie and Tom C, who made this experience unforgettable. I’ll definitely be back for another round of dirty tacos and tequila!!
I love all the Dirty Taco & Tequila locations but this is one just adds another level to their already perfect reputation in my book. Our waiter Frankie was top-notch. Have had the pleasure of sitting at his table at other locations as well. The Asian Nachos are my favorite and I don't want to share them!
🌟 Michelin-Star Experience on the Water — Dirty Taco + Tequila, Port Washington 🌟 Stepping into Dirty Taco + Tequila felt like stumbling upon a hidden culinary gem carved into the dockside soul of Port Washington. It’s rare to find a spot that marries street-style authenticity with coastal elegance, but this place nails it — and then some. We arrived just before sunset, and the energy was already electric. Boats were docked right beside the restaurant, the air smelled of lime, spice, and sea breeze, and we took our seats with a perfect waterfront view. But it wasn’t the scenery that stole the show — it was the food. I ordered the steak burrito, and to call it “good” would be a disservice. This was a burrito crafted with intention — a warm, toasted tortilla cocooned around perfectly seared steak, molten queso, fresh pico de gallo, creamy guac, and a flavor profile that could rival fine dining establishments. Each bite was rich, balanced, and deeply satisfying. The texture? Dreamy. The flavor? Magical. Like biting into something your future self would travel back in time just to experience again. My girlfriend ordered the Dirty Tacos, and if you’re into handheld heaven, these are a must. Crunchy, cheesy, tender, and stacked with flavor — all built on a bed of crisp lettuce that made every bite sing with contrast. The tacos had a boldness that didn’t overwhelm — instead, it danced. Service was friendly and genuine, the vibe effortlessly cool, and the presentation? Spot-on. There’s something beautifully indulgent about sitting on the edge of a dock, boats bobbing nearby, while eating food that feels like it belongs on a tasting menu. Whether you’re pulling up by boat or strolling in from town, Dirty Taco + Tequila isn’t just a meal — it’s an experience. One I’d come back for in a heartbeat. 5 stars. 2 forks up. Would trade my left shoe to eat that burrito again.
We love tacos and try them wherever we travel. We visited Dirty Taco for the first time and came back the very next day. They are simply some of the best tacos we've ever eaten. A truly large selection, with something for everyone. We each ordered three tacos, although two would have been enough. Nevertheless, we shared dessert both days – which Johnny, our friendly server, recommended. Very cheerful staff. Thank you.
The food was excellent!! I recommend the buffalo wings and the chips with guacamole! The churros were delicious as well. We tried the calamari taco and the shrimp taco, which was great, but we were already too full from the apps to enjoy it fully! There will be a wait; we visited on a Tuesday night and had to wait an hour, so I can only imagine what the wait would be on a warm Saturday night. They do not take reservations, which is a bummer. We sat outside and had a nice view! I'm not sure how the inside looks, but there is plenty of seating outside, and I would recommend waiting to eat outside.
Perfect for a date or a dinner with family or friends. The view outdoors by the water was beautiful but the indoor seating area was very nice too. Food is great as always. The host and waitress both recommended the sushi burrito which was on their summer menu, and it was a bit messy but very delicious. Leave some room for dessert...the tres leches is AMAZING. We'll definitely be back!
Visited this location for Taco 🌮 Tuesday and I just have to say , it was an amazing experience from start to finish. We ALL Walked in and the restaurant and it is gorgeous such a beautiful establishment, we sat down in the inside area which had a beautiful view. Jeff was the server and he made the experience amazing and guided us through the menu, He recommended The Birria and it was soo good The food lived up to our expectations!! So we had to get dessert . we left there excited for next Taco Tuesday!!! Can’t wait!
Fun friendly place with tasty food. I enjoyed the namesake dirty taco as well as one of the summer specials, the Mojito Salmon. Hubby enjoyed his Southern Fried Chicken Taco although he would have liked a little more chicken. We split the Dirty Fries. Overall, we definitely enjoyed and will be back.
Emma was super nice. We usually go to the location in wantagh and it was our first time here. Right by the water. Wish the weather was nicer so we could have sat outside. Overall service was amazing. Food was amazing as usual and they were super nice to my fur child as well. Thank You Emma for having patience with all my allergies.
I love Dirty Taco and have been to many of their locations. The owners and staff are all amazing and so is the food. My husband and I were excited to check out their newest location in Port Washington, especially since it’s on the water. It exceeded our expectations. We arrived just after sunset so the pics are a little dark. When we arrived we were greeted by AnnMarie, one of the owners who recognized us and made us feel so welcome. There was a 30 minute wait so we got a drink at the outside bar. The bar area was an open space with plenty of room to move around. There were also a few high top tables in the bar area which was a great spot to have a drink and wait for a table. We got the Midnight Blue which was fruity and sweet, just as I like it. The bartender was friendly and attentive. AnnMarie was so sweet and got us a seat outside as close to the water as possible. Franko, our server was prompt, personable, and efficient. I ordered the Kung Pow Chicken tacos, which are my favorite!!! The crispy wontons and crumbled peanuts give it a little crunch while the sauce is sweet and spicy. My husband ordered the Chimichurri, Southern Fried Chicken, and the Birria all of which he devoured. We ordered the Sweet Plantains (with a side of sugar to dip). Lastly, we had the Churros with whip cream and a drizzle of caramel. They were so delicious!!! They were lightly crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside with a sprinkle of sugar. Everything was absolutely amazing: the food, ambiance, view, staff and service. We can’t say enough wonderful things about this establishment. We highly recommend Dirty Taco.
Only losing a star because one bartender in the outside bar seemed like he hated his job and the fact that he had to serve drinks. The food is great the rest of the staff was lovely but this guy was either having an off day or needs to rethink his career/ job.
The hostess at the front was very rude.. the person in my party who made the reservation said people cancelled on the way we were there and the hostess said well that’s suppose to be a $25 cancellation fee & no one told us then especially when we said we wanted to sit outside she said it’s only for reservation & it was my mother’s birthday but thankfully we did end up getting outside even though she really seemed like she didn’t want to seat us out there and people that walked in & I heard had no reservation where still outside. The drinks were also VERYYY watered down 😔On the other hand the only reason I gave this 4 stars is because Anna saved my experience. She was truly a gem! The sweetest, most thoughtful server we have had, she made our time there amazing !!! If you come here make sure to ask for Anna as your server she was the best absolutely loved her & her vibe ◡̈
Enjoyed a lunch date on a Wednesday. The lunch rush was busy but we were attended to well. The Korean BBQ wings were delicious and the watermelon basil margarita was refreshing. Lots of space outside and inside. Very clean, decent shade with the umbrellas. I loved that there were families with kids. I'd bring my kids next time. Parking was easy.
I recently had a delightful visit to Dirty Taco+Tequila on a sunny day. The atmosphere was perfect with clear blue skies and a captivating view of the marina and yachts. The pleasant background music added to the ambiance. We began our meal with the Kung Pao Dumplings, which were a fantastic starter. For our main course, we tried the Korean short rib taco and Vietnamese shrimp taco, both of which were delicious. We also shared a bowl of rice and beans, which complemented the tacos well. We also indulged in churros for dessert, and I must say they were fantastic. Their crispy yet soft texture and the delightful sweetness made them a perfect ending to our meal at Dirty Taco and Tequila. However, the Mexi cannoli dessert, essentially chips with cream, seemed a bit overpriced to me. In terms of drinks, my friend enjoyed a classic margarita, while I opted for an apple martini with less tequila. Although the drinks were excellent, I was surprised that they were served in plastic cups, and the price for half a martini in a plastic cup seemed a bit steep at $14.50. One point of disappointment was the timing of the happy hour deal. We only learned about the half-price drinks offer at the end of our dinner, and it was only available if you sat at the bar. Overall, I had a good time at Dirty Taco+Tequila. The food was tasty, the view was lovely, and the music set the mood. However, the minor inconveniences and pricing concerns led me to give it a score of 4 out of 5.
Came here for our anniversary, the food and view were great! even though we sat in the inside, we had unobstructed view of the marina and the weather couldn’t be better. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The only negative would be the price. $7 for one taco is a bit steep. Two adults and two kids still ended up costing over $100 for a taco place.
Well it was the 1st time, nice place and view . Not a fan of alacart items. It could become expensive with your family. Tacos were small for the money. Most other sit down taco places give you chips and salsa for free, thy don't. Drinks were a fair price. And staff were very friendly and took time to explain the food choices.
Amazing date night spot! The tacos were fresh and delicious, margaritas were great, and the marina sunset views made it feel like we were on vacation. The wait can be a bit long and avoid the table by the drain, but overall the food, atmosphere, and live music made it well worth it, we’ll definitely be back!
We arrived at 5:30 pm on a Friday and the parking lot was almost 90% full. An outdoor table was an hour wait. We chose indoor seating and was immediately seated. The foods were great. Appetizers (Asian nachos and Thai chili wings) came promptly. But the waiter hurried away before we could ask for plates and forks. We flagged him down a minute later. Drinks came another 3 minutes later. When we were almost done with the apps, the waiter came back to take our dinner order. We chose 2 tacos for each of us since we were half way full. We didn't have any desserts because we were really full. When we left at 6:30, there was a really long line of people waiting.
Ann the manager called my 89 year old aunt a liar. Ann was very unprofessional and rude. All because of a $6:00 taco which my aunt found to be very spicy. At the time waiter suggested another taco, but it was also spicy. My aunt said she would take it home for her nephew to eat because he likes spicy. When bill arrived both were charged. This is absolutely ridiculous and not common practice in the restaurant industry. Never again a neighbor
Ordered through Uber eats and gave special instructions to have queso on the side. This was apparently not conveyed but this is the slop I got. Everything soggy and the manager blamed the delivery driver. Uber eats played the game of not accepting the photo. But considering the entire order we placed, a customer service savvy manager could have offered something. But not even an apology or genuine effort. Instead of recognizing my frustration with both businesses, this restaurant spent more time responding to my review here than even offering a nominal bag of tortilla chips to help me enjoy the meal. A simple gesture that could have helped restore my view of the restaurant separate from Uber eats. I won’t patronize either in the future and that’s fine because clearly neither are concerned.
First time at this location. I attempted to make a reservation for my friends birthday in August for the 3rd Saturday in September and was told that reservations are only made for groups of 8+ and a credit card is required to hold the reservation otherwise it is first come, first serve. We arrived around 7 and were put on a waiting list. We ended up walking to the outdoor bar on the right side of the restaurant and getting drinks while we waited for our table. It was semi-busy. Some tables were empty. The bar was pretty packed. We ordered tequilas and chilled for a bit. The sun was setting so the atmosphere was beautiful and it was a lovely day out. It took about an hour to get called for our table and they told us seating was only available inside or we would have to wait longer despite there being empty tables outside. We accepted the table inside on the left side of the property. Our waitress, Lisa, was annoyingly pushy. She rushed our orders, informing us that she wasn’t feeling great and wanted to go to urgent care when she got off her shift. They should’ve replaced her instead of her asking us continually to close our tab. We were a group of 6 that would have enjoyed our meal while ordering more as we went along but instead felt like we were being pushed out. All in all, the food was fine. It was fresh. The birria tacos were a bit too salty. My friend didn’t finish them. Oh and the churros tasted like pure oil. Do yourself a favor and skip them. The drinks were much better! Go for the ambiance in good weather and the drinks, of course but eat sparingly!
I went to this location for the first time while I visited friends and while I’ve been to other locations this location has been the worst- me and my friend waited at least 20 min by the hostess stand being ignored by her while she was chatting with other people and laughing after standing there like idiots we had asked one of the waitresses who we should speak about getting a table she just pointed to the hostess and walked away eventually we were sat and our server Steph was a joy if it weren’t for him me and my friends would have just walked out
We’re regulars and love the Taco Tuesday deal—the food is consistently good, and it keeps us coming back. Unfortunately, during our most recent visit, my daughter and I were seated but completely overlooked by our server. Several tables sat after us had their orders taken, while we continued to wait without being acknowledged. Eventually, we decided to leave and go elsewhere for our father-daughter outing. We could have stayed, eaten, and left a poor tip—but knowing friends in the service industry, that didn’t feel right. Disappointed this time, but we hope it was just an off night
Left our number on the waitlist, was told 45 minute wait. Dude wrote down my name and number correctly yet, we never received a call. To be fair, they were swamped on mothers day so I get it. But, we were there with the baby so we couldnt wait around for 45 minutes to begin with. Theyre better off just turning folks away instead of pretending that they will follow up with them for a table… Edit: changing my review to 1 star after seeing the restaurants reply. I never received a phone call from them regarding our reservation. And his reply is frankly unprofessional.
Honestly, this was hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. While waiting for our entrées, my friends and I let our waitress know we were stepping down to the dock for just a minute. After finishing our meal, we got up to use the restroom. To our shock, the owner, Tom, was waiting for us when we returned and immediately began yelling at us in front of the entire restaurant. He aggressively told us we needed to leave because he had another reservation coming in—despite the fact that nearby tables had been seated far longer and weren’t being rushed out. At that point, we had only been there for about 45 minutes and had consistently been ordering both drinks and food. Our waitress, Rachel, was incredibly kind and understanding, as was the general manager, John, who both handled the situation with far more professionalism than the owner himself. Despite that, Tom returned to our table again to continue arguing with us in a completely inappropriate and hostile manner. His tone was demeaning and unprovoked, and the situation was so uncomfortable that other guests around us actually apologized for how we were being treated. It felt blatantly obvious that he was speaking to us this way because we’re young women—assuming we’d be easy targets to belittle. I truly hope this establishment reflects on how its leadership treats customers, particularly women. The behavior we experienced was not only unprofessional, but downright sexist and unacceptable.
Honestly, if I could give zero stars for service and atmosphere, I would with the exception of the stunning views from the marina. We did not have the best time on taco Tuesday. I definitely understand that it’s the middle of summer and taco Tuesday, however our waiter gustafa was not attentive to us at all. He hardly checked on us. He would look at our table, and go past our table to help two others sitting around us. The one time he did ask if we needed something, he walked off while we were speaking to him, simply because we were not ordering additional shots. On several instances he did not check our table when walking past, but we would hear him talking to tables next to us. And seeing them leave before we did. Definitely leaving us to feel mistreated due to being minorities in a predominantly majority setting. Orders came to our table incorrect several times. We spent a total of 35 minutes waiting for the bill. Overall it was not pleasant. I give grace for it being busy, but communicate with your tables equally. We felt brushed off for food that wasn’t even that good. Out of the three tacos i had I liked only one— the chimmichurri. Strawberry kiwi margarita was yummy and the view were nice. Also expect to wait on Tuesdays, not just for the table but for everything.
As someone who has frequented this place over the last two years I have to say our group experience today was incredibly disappointing. We came on taco Tuesday and were excited to take advantage of the taco Tuesday margarita deal, the moment we mentioned we were international the bartender decided to charge us full price. When we mentioned the discrepancy our server blamed us for not explicitly mentioning that it was Tuesday, to clarify we have been to this establishment multiple times and have never encountered this issue. The refund despite protest was taken off the entire table instead of being issued to the person who was overcharged who ordered at the bar separately this seemed to cause much confusion. Additionally on a separate occasion we ordered drinks at the bar where midway through the order the bartender wanders off without explanation without finishing the order. Shoutout to the bartender with Irish roots who saved our experience. It’s safe to say we won’t be coming back.
Hands down the worst service I’ve ever experienced. Our waiter Gustafa acted like doing his job was a personal inconvenience. No effort — just pure attitude when we expressed we couldn’t wait for our food to go/checks any longer. Took forever to take our order, and when we expressed our dislike for the wait and service for just our 3 for $10 tacos he said “it’s taco Tuesday baby” in a extremely misogynistic way. Drinks took ages, food came out wrong, and he vanished for most of the meal like a magician with zero talent. No check-in, no refills, nothing. Honestly felt like we were being punished just for showing up. If this is the standard of service here, it’s a complete joke. Do yourself a favor and eat literally anywhere else.
Please do not come here if you Are looking to wait 2+ hours to just get your food and bill. Just save yourself the time and go to any other dirty taco location. This was by far the worst experience I’ve had and I’ve been to the one in Rockville center, which I would highly recommend . Our waiter Mustafa was very inconsistent and not reliable. He out of the two hours that we were there only came to the table 5 times most of the time it was a quick hurry up check in and would run off and the one time when we did get his attention since we weren’t ordering shots he completely walked off in the middle of us talking to him and told us “ why did we call him over than if we’re not ordering shots” when we were simply speaking to him trying to order food items. When we express our concerns towards the end Mustafa took no accountability no empathy about his horrible customer service and proceeded to just brush us off and explain how it’s a “taco Tuesday baby” which is highly inappropriate and it’s “the week before summer ends” mind you we have many weeks before summer end. there’s no excuse for people who sat after us that were leaving and getting their bill while we are waiting so long to just get simple items. most of our food came back incorrectly so he wasn’t even paying attention when coming to our those few times. I will give grace to the bus boys and a blonde waitress who helped us to get his attention Since every time we will call him, he will make eye contact look away and go a different direction . I would really recommend do not come sit here to be mistreated, I will just say go to any other dirty taco location the food will get there just as fast And you won’t experience this. Worst customer service and don’t waste your time nor waste your money. Do better Port Washington
Food was great! Self service at bar was good! Atmosphere was great until manager asked band to leave because of speaker glitch. The band and singer were amazing! The place cleared out in 5 mins once band stopped playing. Bad call on management! We were having a great time but once band starting packing up, the place was dead. Manager was obnoxious yelling that the speaker glitch was embarrassing….. we were sitting next to bar and it was really uncomfortable to hear her yelling at her to staff to tell the band to leave. Unfortunately, our night was cut short, we will not be returning.
