Great place for casual meals with family. Big menu, pretty much something for all but the pickiest eaters. Food is good, service is friendly.

This is our go to place with and without kids. Everyone is always attentive and the food is amazing!! Been coming here for 10+ years. Best pizza around no argument!!!!!

When it comes down to it, I could really eat pizza every day, but recently I’ve broadened my horizons, so now I order it as an appetizer before my chicken parm, Extra Crispy is the way to order it. The food Jerry serves up is superb day in, day out. It can get extremely crowded at times, but always worth the wait.

Pizzeria Bacio is located near Vassar College (Raymond Avenue) in the city of Poughkeepsie, NY. The menu consists of much more than pizza although I have to say the pizza is so delicious that it's hard for me to order anything else. They specialize in both American and Italian cuisine. Everything is delectable and scrumptious. The best experience is eating outdoors under the tables with umbrellas. It gives you a feeling of outdoor cafe style eating along the stretch of sidewalk stores and other eateries. The only negative is finding a nearby parking space as this eatery doesn't have its own parking lot for customers. Street parking is the only option. Be careful to park in a legal parking spot. Read all signs to avoid getting a ticket.

I have been ordering from Bacio since I moved to Poughkeepsie a few months ago and i've never had a bad experience! I usually order to go, but today my family came into the restaurant with no call ahead and got seated within 5 minutes. There were 17 of us. The drinks came quickly, the pizza is amazing, the service is quick and the servers are always well mannered and easy to communicate with. I also ordered their penne pasta to be delivered to my house once and it came in a reusable plastic bowl with a lid that I now use all the time for my leftovers! I love when businesses skip using styrofoam or other products that just end up in landfills. Love this place!

Bacio's is the best!! The vegan pizza options are fantastic and unlike any other pizzeria options around. The broccoli rabe is also wonderful. They cook it perfectly and use just the right amount of garlic for a taste sensation that's unlike the next guy. I've had both dine in and dine out and it didn't matter, it was wonderful pizza.

They have the best gnocchi bolognese that I have ever had. The large you can easily split with 2 people and still have leftovers. Service is always quick and the staff is friendly.

Outdoor dining area is pleasant. Staff is very nice. Food was delicious! The "small" entree is big and will provide at least another meal's worth of leftovers.

Pizzeria Bacio is one of the best pizzerias in the Hudson Valley. The food is delicious and they have a great gluten free menu as well. Staff are always courteous and friendly. I highly recommend!

I'm very picky with my pizza, so I looked for a long time to find a place I loved and this is it! Their pizza is great and the sauce is to die for. I can just eat it straight! I've never had anything bad from them.

Place is great. Never had a bad meal here. So many choices. Staff is nice. It's gets busy. Parking is on street. I always endurance finding a spot so give it a second. There scarpariello is outstanding and so are all there soups.

The specialty items at Pizzeria Bacio are in its name, 'pizza.' The pizza is where we have experienced consistent quality for the past twelve years. The "Verdura" (fresh mushrooms, peppers, onions, spinach, broccoli, mozzarella and mild sauce) is the pizza of choice. Although the menu price has regularly increased over the years, the quality of ingredients and portion size has remained consistent—the increased menu price reflects the increased cost of ingredients. Since we live within walking distance, it's an easy pick-up, but be prepared for the stair climb up to the restaurant.

I am a celiac, and since I've found this out, I've had to rework my diet to be completely gluten free. Most restaurants now have gluten free pizza. I have tried it at many places. It's usually okay, but it's not like eating regular pizza crust. This place makes their own homemade gluten free crust...and it is out of this world, DELICIOUS!!! It's the best gluten free crust I've ever had and the closest thing to regular pizza crust you'll find anywhere. I cannot recommend this place enough. They have regular pizza crust for your gluten eating family and friends :-) My family loves this place too. Thank you Pizzeria Bacio for making me really enjoy eating pizza again.

Thank goodness for Pizzeria Bacio! We've been in Poughkeepsie for 6+ weeks and I've lost track of how many times we've ordered from them and dined in with them. Every meal has been excellent and I'm especially fond of the Chicken Francese, which can be ordered with rice and spinach and is just delicious. Consistently good meals and fair prices = a great combination!

Lovely little place with delicious pizza and entrees and staff are soo sweet and attentive! Went for my mom’s birthday and it was such a wonderful experience. My only gripe is that it can get a bit crowded seated indoors but that’s not something they can control and only attests to how good the food is! Will definitely be back.

The pizza is phenomenal and has a great crust. While all I ate was the pizza, judging by what those around me were eating, I'd say all of the food here is of high quality and value. The staff is upbeat, friendly and attentive. Next time, I will definitely save room for dessert.

The personal pizza with spinach mozzarella and olive oil is the best thing in the whole world. Entrees and the great service is great I love going there. You want to go? Go!

The food is excellent.....been there twice and had the veal picata which is so delicious......the portions are more than enough....ordered the small and brought some home.....and the cost is very reasonable!! Also, the staff are friendly and very accommodating. It is called a pizzeria, which is confusing, as their menu includes many Italian dishes and not just pizza, which I have heard is also excellent!! I will definitely continue to dine there and will eventually have their pizza, but must try many of their entrees first!!

Great food, friendly atmosphere. The authentic tomato sauce makes the pizza the best around. Calamari is tender, not rubbery rings like most places. Pasta dishes are delish --bring your appetite bc even the "small" portion is a generous size. Our go to for pizza & Italian food.

Excellent slice. The cost was what you'd expect. Very clean restaurant. I'm considering going here for dinner. The atmosphere was great, I'm sure they have a lot more to offer than walk-in slice of pizza.

The baked ziti and shrimp alarm is always excellent. They have high end restaurant quality food at pizzeria prices. They are always busy and I’ve never heard anyone say that they didn’t live the food there. The only negative is that parking can be a little tricky in that area.

So, I gave this place another chance because we originally had a bad visit. My children begged to go. I have to say, they were fast, attentive and delicious. I guess this is lesson learned, one bad visit doesn't mean that a place isn't good. Everyone deserves a second chance and Bascio, I am happy to have eaten there. Delicious. Best Italian food I have had in a long time, mouth watering.

The food here is always great! I have ordered from here for my family and also to cater events for a number of years. Jerry is very easy to deal with, his food is consistently superb, and his staff is always so nice! I cannot say enough good things about Bacios!

Today was our first time dining in here. Two thumbs up and 5 stars!!! Service and food were excellent. We told the guy who seated us that we are "first timers"! He gave us a huge smile and welcomed us with excitement. Thanks for everything and you made a wonderful first impression!!!!! See you all again soon!!!!

Had the vegan pizza with artichoke hearts, sundried tomatoes, red pepper, mushrooms. It was perfect. Perfectly seasoned, crispy (not soggy as a lot of places seem to make veggie pizzas)... I love Daiya cheese and any complaints about it are strange... if you are having vegan cheese you know the limitations of non-dairy cheese, don't expect it to be the same. Service was great, friendly and fast, although granted we were there off-hours. Atmosphere is nice, tables overlook the street, bright artwork and everything seems squeaky clean. Will definitely come again next time we are in town!

Hands down, the best BBQ chicken pizza I’ve ever had. My whole family loves it. It’s our favorite pizza spot because of it. Only downside is the parking and the staircase when you first walk in(because you can’t push the stroller up it lol) . Only poor experience I had here is , I placed an order, and paid over the phone and asked if they wouldn’t mind bringing it out to the door so I could pull up and not have to take my kids out of the car (with the baby in the car seat lugging that thing down the street & then back with a pizza box in your hands as well as your sons hand - it’s a lot- especially if you don’t get a close parking spot, it’s a busy street) but they said they no longer do curb side pick up… Not the end of the world just annoying. But as far as the BBQ chicken pizza goes - flawless.

What a great meal we had! They make the best eggplant parmigiana and the Ravioli Vincenzo was to die for!! We will definitely be back!

Wow totally amazed. Might be better than MYC pizzeria!! We came down to this town after visiting Art Omi (an hour away), and stayed a night at a hotel nearby before heading back home. We researched and found many other pizza places in the town, and there are too many that looks good that it's hard to decide. So we asked the front desk lady at the hotel and she recommended is this spot.. so we tried! I'm so glad we went with her recommendation, Pizzeria Bacio is SO good! It's the classic NYC pizza but with labor and love that you can taste. The soup already blew me away - all vegs are hand cut to cubes, the soup is not having too much flavors that's odd, but a cooked well yet not over cooked vegs and pasta soup. The margarita pizza is so well balanced. The dough is light, airy but bottom crust is crisp, the sauce is very neutral yet works well with the cheese being thinly cut, and the basil is spread evenly you can taste it every bite! We also got the lasagna and it's also not heavy at all! Real mozzarella cheese, perfectly al dente pasta, and the meat sauce is not heavy yet saucy. Cannoli is not hard shell (like the fake, pre baked ones) and the filling is not cream but an actual cannoli filling!! Maybe I'm too dramatic for having real Italian and NY pizza...but sometimes even in the state of NY you don't get this quality! You can tell they made everything in house without cutting corner! We did take out but the server at front was nice, and we can tell it would be nice to dine in. It was somewhat busy on a Friday night. Overall highly recommend this place! We are planning to come back just for this pizzeria in the future!

Perfect pizza spot for college students! Their pizzas, penne alla vodka, spaghetti Nonna, chicken parmigiana, and sandwiches are all fantastic. The service is always friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy and clean. Highly recommend! I recently ordered the tiramisu and it was absolutely delicious! It was made with ladyfinger cookies, which are rare to find and made it taste extra authentic and flavorful. I ordered the Margherita Pizza and it was amazing!

Very happy with our 1st experience at Bacio’s this evening. The garlic knots were fresh and hot right from the oven with just the right amount of seasoning. And the Margherita Pizza was tasty with the perfect texture crust. But the whole experience was so good because our waitress Nicole was attentive and genuinely friendly!We will be returning to try some homemade soup and pasta dishes!

Everything was good. Food was what we expected and the staff was all smiles and knowledgeable. Friendly neighborhood place. We were from out of town and first time here. Would definitely go back.

I get pizza at Bacio at least twice a week, and have a sit down dinner at least once every two weeks. The pizza uses high quality ingredients, but I find it always needs a touch of garlic or something else to be perfect. Their non-pizza meals are incredible. I have never had coconut shrimp taste this good. It isn't soggy with grease, and the coconut taste is actually there. I know many fine dining spots that could learn from these guys. Desserts are also very good. I recommend the coconut ice that comes in half a coconut shell.

Nice causal place. Food is plentiful and tasty. I ordered the small portion and that was more than enough. Staff is very nice and attentive. Their penne alla vodka sauce is one of the best I've ever had.

Food is usually top botch. Pizza was served badly burnt. When brought to the waitresse's attention she coped an attitude and never even apologized. I give it 4 stars for this is not the norm but the help really needs to be taught on good customer service.

Been way too long since I was here last! Always reliable pizza, but I especially liked this combo of Sicilian plus grandma, because I'd never ordered these slices from Bacio before.

I ordered the tiramisu and the mozzarella stick. The food was good and the delivery service was “fast” I suppose. The receptionist was alright. She told me the delivery would have taken an hour even though I lived a mile away. Luckily it came way sooner than an hour. The utensils also came with the order so that was a plus.

Ate outside (neat, tidy, clean) nice menu items to choose from. All the salads looked good. We ordered a nice and crispy pizza, a fresh salad and a hamburger for the kid also a raw bar app.. All super good. Would go there again.

Pizza is very good. One pizza had meatballs and the other had mushrooms and artichoke hearts. Very good. One of the menu specials today was a stuffed artichoke at $14.75. Pricey for an artichoke. I tried it. Was a little over cooked and dried out on top. Would I order again, probably not at that price. Been her a few times with friends. Will definitely return.

The place was nice and I had The Pasta nano or something like that.It tasted kind of bland even though it had a lot of sauce. It was still good but had like no flavor. The meatballs were amazing though. Though it is a pizzeria.

Always good food but I have to do pick. I've tried delivery and it's a ridiculous amount of time everytime!! This time I've been waiting an hour and 45 minutes and still not here!! I only live 10 minutes away...so Why? Why is it always so long for delivery. Hire more delivery drivers geez...

We’ve been eating at Bacchio’s for years. Inside, usually outside, occasionally take out. It’s all been good, sometimes just okay, sometimes better. But today all the five stars aligned and the pizza gods smiled. Our Verdura pizza, with proper golden crust and perfectly proportioned veggies, moist but not wet or drippy, with enough cheese to participate but not take over, with a sauce to integrate and not drown, and with that universally recognized pizza aroma that suggests you floor it to get home quickly. Oh and what a prize! If the cook who prepared this masterpiece has a PhD in pizza (Pizza heavenly Deliciohso) s/he might consider teaching post docs in Rome. We can’t stop ooohing and ahhhing. And yes, we all consider ourselves pizza mavens and your taste may diverge from mine. But do yourself a solid. Place the order, already. UPDATE: What a difference a month makes. We ordered another Verdura pizza tonight. Our order was based on our previous outstanding experience. Oiy vay! This time, instead of red pepper it had green peppers (yuck. Too strong a taste) And instead of olives it had broccoli (not my favorite on pizza). So I called up. Twice. I was told that menus change and that the ingredients were from a menu of six months prior. They were from Google, says the manager. Except they were from the restaurant’s own web site. Just the thought of a green pepper and broccoli pizza gives me agita. Is our world so twisted that you can’t even believe posted ingredients from barely a month earlier? Conclusion: The stars really don’t align that frequently and our historic pie was sadly an aberration. Of course, I should have asked to open the box before naively racing home, but is that what we do? Tonight’s pizza was not horrible. It was not delicious either. Nor was the shock of seemingly substituted ingredients and the manager’s response to my complaint satisfying. “Please listen to all the options as our menu has been changed…”

The food, I had the meat calzone, was very good. We also had pizza that was good, thin crust and tasty pepperoni. I would rate this higher, and possibly will after another visit, but our server was slow and confused, hopefully she was new and will get better

Bacio’s was one of my most favorite places to have not only pizza but a fine selection of great Italian food. Though recently they have changed their menu, not adding anything but taking away things. They took away my favorite dish Chicken Bacio. I was devastated and no longer feel the same way about this place.

I can't speak for the rest of the food because from day one, I have ordered the Chicken Scarpariello and absolutely love it. This is what i order every single time. They prepare it just the way I love and remembered it. The serving size is very generous. The other food looks amazing however it's Chicken Scarpariello. It's not on there regular menu so you need to ask for it. The service is always good. **updated review**unfortunately, I am changing my 5 star to a 3 star. I have to update my review on the Chicken Scarpariello. I'm not sure if the cooks have changed the past year however The dish is just not the same. I have ordered at least 8 times hoping that it would be better however not so. The serving is much smaller, you no longer get a salad with the meal and more importantly the flavors are just not there anymore. I ask for extra hot cherry peppers and I get sweet. FRUSTRATING!! The only thing consistent lately is that I no longer love the Chicken Scarpariello from Bacio which is frustrating bc theirs was the best around hands down. Back to making it at home.

Traditional dishes are well prepared & priced right. The pizzas fall short as they are too well done & tough. Recent visit improved; however, the entrees were brought to the table minutes after the appetizers were served. Result: too much food, with no reasonable time between the courses, & a very crowded table

Just called to ask if they were still delivering and before she could answer she was grunting with disapproval. when she informed me they were still delivering i had stated that i would call back in one minute as soon as i'm sure what they would like to order. she immediately hangs up on me. I don't get upset easily, but this kind of disrespect , especially from the person representing your business is un-called for. I work in the hospitality industry in the local area and i will not be sending guest or refereeing this restaurant. The only reason i am giving a 2 is because its unfair to the other employees to suffer because of one person.

Food is good, but my workplace orders consistently, and the food takes over an hour and a half to arrive. It arrives much later than they say it will too often.

I’ve been coming here since I was 11 years old and now im 20. I never had a bad experience than tonight. I ordered pasta and they usually make it a certain way and since im a picker eater once I taste something different or tastes disgusting I don’t want it anymore. I told the girl in the front it tastes disgusting and she should even try it herself. The tomato sauce was very sour and the pasta was uncooked. I was very disappointed and requested a refund or a different order. The female in the front gave me a hard time so I threw the order away at bacio. I will not be ordering from there again thank you

Our family of six ordered a vegan cheese pizza, a vegan spinach calzone, two dairy slices, garlic knots and fries. The vegan cheese is Daiya so it's not great and didn't melt inside the calzone. The marinara was very tasty but the calzone itself was bland. The dairy slices were just okay, not great. The toppings were just tossed on top, not melted into the pizza at all. Having the pizza sitting on the table was inconvenient, as the table was crowded and made eating difficult. Service was just okay as well, as our waitress seemed preoccupied and inconvenienced, despite us being her only table. A second waitress had to step in to help us finish up. Ultimately, it filled our bellies but isn't worth returning. Our lunch cost just over $50.

Girls up front can't take a simple order when I went in to confront the issue the girls were laughing along with the owner!!! I Do not recommend this place very rude and iv been coming here for years ill never go back the way I was treated!!!

I ate lunch here numerous times over a 2 year period, getting food to go and also eating in, several times bringing other people with me also. After being there so many times one would think the owner might greet you, say hello, etc. But, he never did. Due to his bad attitude neither me nor any of the friends I brought here will eat here again.

My friend and I sat at a table waiting for over an hour for our pasta when they said it would take 20-25mins. They left it on a shelf and didn’t bother to tell us or perhaps forgot to tell us. Either way when I finally asked them after 90mins they simply grabbed the food and handed it to us as if nothing was wrong. I just walked out without a word because I was so flabbergasted, hungry, and irate. Both of our pastas was cold and solidified as was the bread. Truly disappointed.

The Google menu doesn't represent the actual menu pricing, when I advised, the nice waitress said that the owners are aware that they are being misrepresented online, but don't care enough to do anything to change it. Too bad, food is good otherwise, just fix your Google account. Google is very responsive to business owners as far as I've found. Thank you.

over an hour wait for pizza! seriously. The Waitress said that the only GF options they have are pizza, but there is no guarantee on cross-contamination, and they have absolutely no salads to offer that are gluten free. So we ordered their only GF option... which after over an hour never came. Two other tables, came, ate full meals and left, while we waited.

I used to love their gluten free pizza then they changed the recipe for their dough and I got violently ill not once but twice. Not sure what they did to the flour they used but for someone GF for 15 years it had a very bad effect on me. Be careful if GF.

TRASH MANAGEMENT!! How poorly can this place be run?!??? They wouldn’t let a girl with SEVERE food allergies bring in her food ,THAT SHE COOKS HER SELF, and let her sit while her friends while they ordered and ate! The manager would not listen and not only lost the business of these young girls but hopefully many more. If you can’t SEE that the food was not from another take out restaurant, then why are you running this place? Ownership needs to take a look at their staff and make corrections!!

We ordered dinner on Saturday night. They said at least 30 minutes for pick up. Went to pick up 40 minutes later and still had to wait another 20 minutes. We live 5 minutes away the food and when we got home the food was cold and one order was wrong. . I messaged them because I didn’t want to give them a bad review but never got an answer so I am posting this. We Don’t order out very often and we were very disappointed.

The manager of this restaurant kicked my niece out today for trying to bring her own meal of safe food into the restaurant. She has severe food allergies and literally can not have anything on the menu! She went in with her 4 friends who were all paying customers and just wanted to enjoy a nice meal with them. The manager came over, would not listen to her try to explain her side at all, just kept saying the policy this, and the policy that. This manager made her feel inferior to everyone else because she could not order something on the menu, she left in tears because she was so embarrassed. All 4 of her friends left as well and were extremely appalled by the experience. Where is the human decency….. what is this world coming to. This restaurant and manager disgust me. How could you make someone feel bad about something they can not control you should all be ashamed of yourselves. It may be time to update the old policy, if it even does exist, if no outside food if it involves the safety of someone there. If she had been able to enjoy something off the menu she would have but unfortunately she cannot and should not be made to feel bad about that.

They used to have the best gluten-free pizza I've tasted. However, they've changed the crust and the sauce doesn't taste the same either. It was equivalent to eating a piece of cardboard w/sauce and cheese on. Honestly the worst pizza I've had in a very long time. I've decided to make gluten free pizza at home for now on.

Today (4/6) I was able to speak with the owner of this restaurant. Yesterday I stopped in to speak with him regarding the incident that took place on 3/31 with my daughter not being allowed to bring in her own food. He was not available so I left my number. When he called me today he was very kind and apologetic. He explained that this has never happened before. I found out that there is not a written policy stating that outside food can’t be brought in. My hope is that the female manager, who was so incredibly rude, has learned a lesson on how to treat other people, especially those with a disability. Sometimes it is necessary to make changes. Everyone is different, and there are many people with dietary restrictions. The owner did give me a gift card so that my daughter can go back with her friends, AND she can stay there and eat her safe meal with them. I’m thankful that he was understanding and willing to speak with me.

So sad 😢. This has been one of my family's favorite restaurants to come to for The last 5 years. We always sat out on the patio with our dog, and had many nice meals. When we showed up this afternoon, we were informed by the waitress that dogs were no longer welcome on the patio, even though there was literally no one else there. My niece and 4 friends tried to eat at this restaurant on 3/31/23. My niece has severe food allergies and brought her allergy safe meal to the restaurant. She was looking for a night out with her friends when the manager told her she is not allowed to eat her allergy safe meal in the restaurant. My niece explained her situation, how she cannot eat the food the restaurant serves, and that her 4 friends would be ordering off the menu. The manager refused to bend on the “policy” and did not allow her to eat her allergy safe meal. Her and her group of friends left the restaurant. My niece left the restaurant very upset and feeling less than. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area, especially if you a food allergy.

I have always enjoyed Bacio's in restaurant meals and their pizzas. That's why I ordered a half tray of chicken parm from them for a family get together. The chicken was very over cooked and luke warm. I threw the leftovers in the garbage and my family did not enjoy the chicken. I am sorry I ordered from their catering menu.😞

However, the last time I tried to order I was told by the blonde lady server/hostess, very rudely, that I had to leave because I had my service animal with me. My dog is trained to assist me so I can’t go anywhere without my service dog. I understand many restaurants do not allow seating with animals, however I was just trying to place my order and be on my way. I was rudely unwelcome. I tried to explain my situation to the hostess, but her tone and dismissal of me rubbed me the wrong way. She immediately continued to help other customers while I was trying to explain my situation . Wont be back.

Terrible. No flavor under cooked pile of slop. Pie didn’t fit in the box so the folded the pie. Wouldn’t even call it pizza

Came in an hour before closing and the staff were extremely hostile and passive as if we were a burden for wanting to pick up a couple slices. The tone and subtle attitude was very unpleasant, I would honestly just recommend for the staff to close early if they are going to behave in this manner.

Someone in our party got Chicken Parmigiana and Spaghetti. Gave them Acid Reflux and an upset stomach all night! That brings it down to almost zero as far as finding any decent pizzerias with decent food around Pok, NY!

I don’t understand why you tell people an hour for delivery and it’s here in 20 minutes. Now it has to sit until my family gets home. Be truthful. Never again.

It was our first time here today. Probably the worst restaurant experience we have had in a decade. Walked in to 3 employees standing around. No one greeted us, we seated ourselves. The female server who served us was terrible. I had to ask for a menu. Never came back to take the order for my salad. We could not wait to get out of there. Pizza was very average, many better places to go to in the region. I am not sure if our experience with the service, particularly from our server had anything to do with the color of our skin. Hard to believe that if everyone was treated this way, they would have such great reviews or returning customers. Hope the management/ owners care enough to take notice of this review and act upon it

My pizza had a crisp crust, cooked toppings, and a layer of uncooked raw dough in the middle. I pointed this out to one of the servers, who told me that is normal, and it's supposed to be like that! Also, NONE of the staff was wearing a mask, though there is a big outbreak of covid in the immediate area.

More like GARBacio. I had to wait over an hour on multiple occasions with ZERO check ups by the staff to see how we were doing. We later found out the food was ready to go but the employee (that should change) did not BOTHER to tell us. Owner might wanna make some changes to their staff list, otherwise their continued FAILURE to provide basic service will start to hurt the business. What a shame too cause the food is pretty good. Would’ve given 4 stars if employee actually cared about their job.
