1st time at this restaurant. Love the location and the atmosphere/decor of the restaurant. We were seated quickly. The restaurant was semi full, but lacked servers and one was being trained. We received our drinks quickly, but ordering took a while, which was OK and understandable due to staffing. The waitresses were nice and friendly. The problem came when receiving our food. All of the three orders of easy over eggs were cold, no warmth to them at all. Country potatoes were dry and onions/bell peppers were burnt/black. We had to ask for our toast and waited for a few minutes. When it arrived one slice severely burnt and the other was barely. Bacon and sausage were good. The one item that was on par were the pancakes. They were hot and delicious. We are not ones to complain, but mentioned the disappointment to our waitress. You could see that she was upset, not at us, but the kitchen. She said its good that we said something so the kitchen would be aware. Its apparent the kitchen need to be on the same page with getting the food out together. Maybe use warmed plates. We will try this place again. It's definitely worth trying. Hopefully they can get their staffing issues fixed.

Food was mediocre. Service was outstanding! Cute little restaurant that was clean and tidy. The prices were....California prices, not terrible. I won't return, though, because the burger just wasn't very good. They have a nice bar, too.

The food and atmosphere are great. Super family feel but with a bar as well. This is probably my forth or fith time eating here & I always leave feeling satisfied. The only reason for the 4 stars vs five are the prices are a bit high. The staff are awesome friendly and cheerful and the food was excellent. I went with a friend and had a burger(January Burger of the month), tator tots, yum and a special of the day shake, yum yum. Well... after I had a beer 🍺 😅. Anyhow, was an overall good experience that I highly recommend. Plenty of parking nearby but not right out in front if you may have a handicap. There will be some short walking distance involved from the parking area.

Nice hole in the wall place central to Poway. Good variety of food. Portions for price is only reason for the 4 stars. Other than that, great people, awesome atmosphere, good selection, and cleanliness is great.

Great Family place! Not a very big restaurant but they do have a room for celebrations or meetings. Great food but a wild variety at all. The service is really great and everyone was friendly. A little pricey but generous portions and large drinks! Definitely recommend!

Someone told me about this place so I had to check it out. There were only 2 waitresses so I waited for my table for awhile. But they were quick to take my order. The decor is really cute and inviting. The place was packed! Even though they have other stuff, I had to try their burgers! I got the one with avocado and bacon.. it was messy but delicious! One of the best burgers I've ever had, fr! Downside, the fries weren't ready yet. I was almost done with the burger by the time they came out and they came over done. Not a fan of the fries. But overall, it was a nice restaurant!

My husband and I had some errands to run in Poway, so we decided to try this restaurant. We loved the western town ambiance, and they had a lot of parking, too. We were greeted by the lovely hostess Tori, she sat us at and gave us our menus. We loved the table she sat us at because we could watch the padres game on their tv. The server Miguel came by our table and asked what we would like to drink and if we wanted an appetizer. I got a rootbeer, and my husband got a strawberry lemonade. We took a few minutes extra to look at the menu since it was our first time there. I ordered the Forestiere Burger with a side of potato salad. My husband ordered The Beast Burger with a side of French fries. Our food came out quickly, which was great. My potato salad was delicious, and my burger was pretty decent but lacking seasoning on the patty. My husband loved his French fries and said the burger was okay but not as flavorful as he thought it would be. We both felt it was pretty good food overall, and we'd definitely come back again. Maybe next time we will try brunch there. If I had one complaint, it would be that the server took a little longer than we'd like to notice that we wanted a to go box and our check. We flagged him down for the to go box, but he didn't bring the check. A woman walking around, I could assume was the manager, and she asked if we needed anything, and I told her we were waiting for the check. She brought it over right away, and we paid online.

I would say that it was nice to see the servers working as a team and helping each other. The food was better than average but the fish and chips dish was over breaded for my taste. Jalapeno ranch dressing was delicious and worth going back for in and of itself!

Drove inland to check the food out. On weekends we normally try to venture out to try new restaurants. Gorgeous old town vibe at this location. The place wasn’t completely full but it was a Sunday morning so it was hustling with breakfast seekers. We checked in, was told about 10min wait. We got seated about that time and a gentlemen took our order. Here is where things got weird… We received our drinks quickly but waited for our simple breakfast. My friend got the egg, hash browns and sausage and I got eggs, chicken fried steak (ordered home style potatoes) but rcv’d hashbrowns and just ate those as you’ll understand why. We waited, and waited and waited. People around us were eating and leaving but no food for us. I noticed our waiter walking around but never approached us again after bringing our drinks. I felt like he was avoiding eye contact with me. I flagged the manager down who was walking around after about 30minutes. He apologized and gave us an update on our meals. He also gave us a gift card. I appreciated that gesture. Service recovery is huge. He is why I gave this place 4 stars. The food was good, breakfast is breakfast. Prices were average. I paid $42 with tip. 2 meals one coffee. The coffee cake that came with the meals was tasty. We will come back to try the burgers. My only wish is that the waiter would have come back to our table during our long wait to update us. I have worked as a GM in a few restaurants in the past so that would have been sufficient for me as communication is key.

We came here for dinner last night. My girl ordered the burger with fried avocado, my daughter had the grilled cheese (not pictured) and I had the salmon without the cream sauce. We ordered Cajun shrimp as an appetizer. Now when I did so I expected the shrimp to have some sort of spice to it. They were just regular fried shrimp, not to take anything away because they were delicious and large but I don't see at all where the Cajun came into play? I had a bite of my girls burger and it was very tasty. I however need to watch my diet a little so I ordered the Salmon. I ordered it without the sauce to help with the calorie count and grilled veggies. I'm sorry but again the name is confusing me. These tasted like regular steamed veggies, didn't at all look like they hit a grill. My biggest problem was the salmon. It had to be the driest piece of fish I've ever tasted. I was hitting it with my fork and that fork was just bouncing off the fish. Not sure if it's normal and the sauce hides the over cooking but yeah just really tough to eat. The service was great, the ladies up front were very nice and Fermin our server also was super nice and helpful.

Very disappointed in this place. High reviews but I am not sure what for. Service was great, the restaurant was fine/normal. My complaint is with the food. My order came out wrong and missing items when asked about it the kitchen said they were all out of the missing/wrong items... That would have been nice to know ahead of time. No offer for compensation or replacement. Very upsetting meal for $60 (two entrees, one side, one drink). Will never be going back here.

I'm 83 years old. My husband 86. No senior discount because I didn't request it before ordering. Lettuce instead of fries? $2. Fruit instead of fries? $2.50...no warning, it just appears on the bill. We have been coming here since 1975! Won't bother to go back. Feeling disrespected. Also, the special "spicy Grinch" wasn't spicy at all.

We came here earlier this year and had a great experience, so we decided to return. Unfortunately, this visit was very different. When we walked in, no one greeted or acknowledged us. We waited several minutes to be seated, even though only about five tables were occupied. Once seated, our server didn’t greet us, introduce himself, or offer drinks. We had to initiate everything ourselves, from ordering beverages to placing our food order. His overall demeanor felt rushed and uncomfortable. He did check in once to ask if we needed anything else, but the interaction still felt indirect and unwelcoming. The most surprising moment was when he came over with the card machine while we were still eating. I was mid-bite when he asked if we were paying with a card. We hadn’t asked for the check, and it caught us completely off guard. In most restaurants, the server simply sets the check down and says, “No rush.” The way this was done felt abrupt and made us feel like we were being rushed out of the restaurant. When we left, no one said goodbye or thank you, we were the ones saying it as we walked out. I don’t usually write negative reviews, especially because our first visit was great, but the contrast this time was disappointing. I hope this was just an off day, because we had enjoyed this place before.

Horrible service! Asked server Kevin to watch food while using restroom. He promised it would not be touched, but when returned it was gone. Kevin apologized and did not seem to offer any discount to bill, just an apology. We had about 50% of our food and drink ( 2 people) removed from the table and he could not compensate us in anyway. Seems like if he wanted us to return he could have offered something? For this reason I cannot recommend and will not be returning. It was our second time there and both times food is only average. Not great at all and paired with horrible service. No reason for us to return. Much better places right on same street. Will will be at those places instead.
