I love this place. I've been coming here since 2013. I always get great service and always get a hello from the owner every time she sees my buddy and I. Food is excellent as well. You have to try the Amazing Melt
Phenomenal brisket! Solid smoke ring, thickly sliced and shreds like butter. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The no sauce brisket option was diabetic friendly for me and would highly recommend!!
Very good bbq. Enjoyed the brisket sandwich. Update from original post. Took your advice on the brisket melt and it was very delicious. The only thing that it needed for me was just a little bit more brisket and it would of been out of the park. Still a very enjoyable melt.
Always great food and atmosphere! I like the bbq. This time i tried their Amazing Melt sandwich - basically a grilled cheese sandwich with bbq brisket and Mac n cheese on it. Super rich, I could eat only half (along with a nice side salad). The kids always like this place.
Staff was very fast that night and helpful, only issue was trying to flag someone down for our check since they were busy on the inside and we were positioned outside for our large group. Food was great, the drinks didn't feel like we paid good money for only a splash of alcohol, and we definitely have planned to make another get together there again soon.
Stopped in to visit an old friend…we were treated like family by the owners! It was clean and inviting and the food was on point and delicious! Would highly recommend you don’t miss out if ever you have the chance to eat at Kaminski’s!
If you are in Poway, Kaminski's is a must. A locally owned business making fantastic barbecue with fresh ingredients is something that can't be missed! All the staff at Kaminski's are wonderful, and the owners are some of the nicest people around. This restaurant gives back to the community and supports the local high schools.
Staff is super friendly, they are extremely attentive and made me feel welcomed. The food is fresh and delicious. The variety of sports on TVs really allows you to catch you games. I am already making plans to visit on Friday, which I believe is Kareoke.
Its a great place to take family. Every server I've had experience with are friendly with a very pleasent attitude. They are checking on customers throughout meal. During Covid they were following all guidelines and cleaning. Was the only place I felt comfortable to go inside when open during pandemic. Last but not least the food is awesome and there is plenty to eat. Will recommend this to everyone. They are great with kids as well. Love this place.
Service was great! We arrived shortly before a pay per view event we weren't a part of, but were treated with great great respect and never rushed. The Bourbon Salmon was amazing and even the skins of the Baked Potato was seasoned to perfection.
Good beer choices and the beef brisket sandwich was pretty good. Food came really quick although the crowd was light (thanks COVID-19). Moderately pricey. (1) Sandwich, side of rings and a 16oz beer was $25 +tip.
What a lovely surprise. We had a huge group coming from a hockey tournament and Kaminskis was so accommodating. We had adults and kids and they were helpful, organized and everyone got what they needed quickly and efficiently. On top of the great service, the food was awesome and the beer selection perfect. We were seated outside on the patio, equipped with TVs, cornhole and other fun activities! Thank you staff!
Ordered take out yesterday: BBQ beef ribs were fall of the bone delicious, wings were spicy and flavorful, fish and chips were plentiful and crispy and onion rings were of massive portion. We all enjoyed the entrees and sides. Will definitely reorder.
Great place to enjoy every sport you can think of! I love it because we play cribbage here every Tuesday and of course they hang a HUGE GB Packer sign. Cant beat that class act and the food is always delcious.
Held our annual office Christmas party there last night. Great food and great environment. First time I have been there. It was recommended by others in our group that have been there before. I can see why they suggested it. The menu had a wide selection, which really helps when you are bringing a large group. Everyone found something they liked. My only complaint was that I ate too much!
Wow was I surprised. When I saw the name BBQ & Sports Lounge, I assumed that the barbecue would be second-rate but this was some of the best barbecue that I have ever had. The Carolina pulled pork had a nice vinegar taste. The brisket was moist and juicy. The chicken was also surprisingly moist. I have had a lot of barbecue chicken that came out to dry but this was just right. They also had a nice beer selection.
Ok…. 6 months to a year ago… I would have given this place 1 star… but, been in twice and there are new staff…. Especially bar staff… Came in and was welcomed warmly and genuinely! Any staff that saw me asked me if I needed anything. They were fun and there was no negative attitudes or environments unlike before. Definitely will be back now, and look forward to seeing this positive environment continue!
Love this place! Always great service and the food is pretty tasty. This definitely feels like a family owned restaurant - the staff is super friendly toward both humans and doggos! One of my favorite places to go for Sunday brunch during football season - tvs and games everywhere - even on the patio! Love you Kaminski’s and I’m gonna miss you the most when we move north 😘
We were at the restaurant on 01/14, a large group of 24. The other dining room was full and it appeared the waitress, Sharon was ghe only waitress as she was running btwn both rooms. Sharon handle this with effortless efficiency and always with a smile. Excellent waitress!
Family owned (they were there eating) which I prefer over "cookie cutter" businesses. Good food. Lots of BBQ choices and beers. Good prices. And, TV's everywhere. Including a collection in the bar area which allows you to follow all the games! Good for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Our family really likes this place. The BBQ ribs and chicken are great. The cole slaw is outstanding. The French fries are really good. The onion rings are my favorite. The service staff is always friendly.
My family and I have been going to Kaminski’s for years and routinely have them cater off-site events for us as well as host dine-in private parties. We love all the food and the fun atmosphere. You will not find better pulled pork, brisket, or mac and cheese anywhere! Oh, and did I mention breakfast?! There is no better place to watch Sunday football and have a delicious breakfast for the entire family. The staff is wonderful and it’s a lot of fun with everyone wearing their favorite jerseys on game days! If you are looking for a delicious meal, morning, noon, or night, dine-in or carry-out/catering, I highly recommend Kaminski’s!
If you love BBQ, you will love this place!!! Family owned since, well, since before most of you were even thought of. Food has delicious recipes, some are even from inside the family, and are totally awesome. Brisket, Pulled Pork, Chicken, and you have to try the RIBS, unbelievably superb!!! Platters, Burgers, Numerous Side Options, Salads, Deserts AND Sandwiches: A MUST, ya gotta try the “Beef & Chedder” which you can sub the chedder for pepper jack, yummy -also- the “Amazing Melts” …I heard a story that this beauty was originated by one of the cooks, while on the SuperQ food truck, an old wives tale, it could be, or not… A MOST EXCELLENT CHOICE… remember to add the jalapeños!!! Heck, they even have a good selection of vegetarian items... if you can believe one would go to a BBQ joint... I don't understand that choice at all, although I have had a "beyond burger" with cheese and bacon added, quite tasty I must say! Great beer options for those who enjoy that, above and beyond selection of your favorite liquors. Not the cheapest restaurant, because you are getting top quality meats and food, believe me. Personally, I am not a big karakoe fan, mostly due to the lack of quality at most events, but it is a hoot. Staff is super friendly and attentive to your dining, drinking and even your sports needs... yes, there are over 20 TV's and most everything you could ask for is available, just ask. Sports, from NFL Sunday, Monday and Thursday nights, to baseball, to Hockey, NASCAR, UFC, basketball, to Olympics (even Curling), to Soccer, you name it, they will do their best to find it. Exemplary… and remember this tid-bit: If you leave hungry, well, that’s your own fault!!!
This place is phenomenal! Food was outstanding and the owner Marsha was the sweetest. We are from out of town and they didn’t have basketball game we wanted. She called direct-tv and added the package on the spot. World class service.
I've been a regular here ever since I found out about this place in early 2020. Place is large and clean, with a decent amount of parking. Food here is absolutely fantastic. Service is good, staff is polite and helpful, and pickup is always right on time. Haven't had the pleasure of dining in but definitely will once things open up. I definitely recommend the amazing melt sandwiches, the hotlink sausages, beef brisket, onion rings, garlic fries, fried pickles, kaminskis pulled pork, and fish tacos. Definitely one of the best BBQ joints around town.
Melissa in the bar area is really nice and knowledgeable about the menu. The made to order Chicken salad salad is a great call, especially if you want to go carb free. Do it w out the bun. Melissa recommended the cookie dessert to me, which was out of this world
Literally the best service. Out server was fast, kind and on top of it. I regret not getting his name. We were a party of 10. Just finished a funeral and he was so great to all of us. The food was good and the bartenders were on point and fast! Thank you
This place was a great find. Very spacious and relaxed. Great view of the TVs to watch games. The food was fitting of the place, delicious. I had the garlic edamame and the brisket sandwich with fries. The brisket was nice and tender. I had the wings in bbq sauce and they were meaty with a nice crispy outside. The beer was very cold and they have a nice selection available. Angela was the bartender and she was amazing, seems they were short-handed but she kept up and had a great personality through it all. I will definitely watch some future games here and enjoy the atmosphere they create.
Staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. We had our puppies so they accommodated us on the patio. They found a heat lamp that worked and brought a TV out so we could watch the Thursday night game. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was great as always!
Terrific staff, family friendly, comfortable atmosphere, amaxing smoked ribs, chicken, and rotisserie chicken & more.
We got together here on a Sunday to meet some friends for brunch. I was instantly happy realizing that I had worn an all black outfit because apparently this is a Pittsburgh Steelers viewing party hangout place on Sunday. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs and it was out of this world. All the food looked great and I will definitely be coming back!
I came here for dinner after a long day and it was exactly what I needed. The soup of the day — a creamy tomato basil — was rich and comforting, and the grilled cheese sandwich that came with it was buttery and crisp. Simple food done really well. Service was kind and the vibe was chill.
Came to San Diego from ATL to visit family and they brought us here for both breakfast and dinner. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The service is amazing, even though they were busy the waiter still gave amazing service. The food was phenomenal and the portions were great for the price. Breakfast was amazing, with a variety of great choices from pancakes to breakfast steak. Highly recommend!
Great BBQ and sports bar. Lots of space. Great service. Quiet the night I was there but Trivia was going on. Cool place, but drink was higher than I thought should be???
Great experience and food! Would recommend to anyone. Definitely got the best service at the bar. Bartender is top notch.
It started with the phone call to the restaurant. The woman was kind and friendly. She told me everything that I needed to know without rushing me off the phone. We got there and let me tell you! The drinks were aaahhmazing! The food was simply outstanding! Falling off the bone good! I mean excellent all the way around! The Christmas decorations were perfect! I 🙌🏾 have nothing but great things to say about Kaminski's Friday night karaoke 🎤 YES my favorite! Too bad I'm going to the movies! I will be back!😋
Beautifully decorated for Christmas, top notch service at this family run bbq palace. I loved the food, cooked to perfection. My bbq chicken was moist throughout, with a perfect smoked flavor and the house pulled pork was outstanding!!! I know more than a little about bbq food and have been all over the country and frankly I never expected to enjoy this level of quality in Poway, CA right in the middle of San Diego county. Well done! That’s all I can say, and I’m grateful for the service and obvious care and attention to the details!
Great atmosphere with an array of large screens. The BEST New York Steak ever. Thick, Juicy and tender. The onion rings and coleslaw are also a favorite.
Came here with baseball team after a game and they did a great job accommodating all the families. We called ahead, and they had a room ready for us and had a great process in place for handling everything.
I used to go to Kaminski’s all the time but haven’t been in a while until today. Every time I’ve gone it’s been amazing!! I went tonight with my family and it was so great! I wish I would’ve gotten our servers name but he was amazing! He was super attentive, consistently checking on us making sure we were good and had everything we needed and super friendly! You can tell all the staff really enjoys being there and making sure their customers have a good experience! Our food was absolutely amazing!! We got the BBQ sampler platter and it was to die for!! All the meat was amazing especially the ribs!!! They fell right of the bone!! You truly get what you pay for! This place is amazing and I highly recommend it!!
Great wings, brisket. Large portions, we took home half. Friendly bartender took our order. We sat in a booth. The brisket sandwich was $20 and then the side was a bit extra if you wanted onion rings, sweet potato fries, and $9. for a loaded baked potato. That's the only thing I'd change to more options for sides. There was free parking, limited shade. The bathroom was clean and had a place to hang a purse.
Probably the best restaurant in Poway, and the best BBQ for miles. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was very welcoming and casual! Looking forward to trying out the whole menu. I had the Kaminski’s Pulled Pork platter with coleslaw, Mac and cheese, and Texas toast; every bite was delicious.
GREAT FOOD.... BUT so disappointed in the BBQ sauces on the table....BORING. They have a great dry rub on their wings that they need to make into a BBQ sauce and add some flavor and spice to their very bland current options. Meat phenomenal but I tend to take it home to eat it with great sauces that compliment the meat better.
I was visiting from out of town and really wanted some BBQ/Sports Bar food. They delivered. The ribs should be illegal. They cascaded off the bone and were so tender and flavorful, literally melted in the mouth. Their brisket was also really tasty. Great place and great food
Decent place to hang out. Good food and service. Many amenities, kareoki, trivia, host many sports event. I am not a big BBQ fan but I was told BBQ is pretty good. I tried burgers and fish items. They were good and decent portions. BBQ was bit pricy for my statndand. I have seen the portion for BBQ orders, for the price it is not large enough for me. I am sure that can fixed possibly bring more customers.
You'll never look at store bought bbq sauce the same ever again after eating here. This was hands down the best bbq sauce I've ever had in my short life. I'll change my rating to 5 stars when they start selling their bbq sauce by the bottle. Overall the food was delicious. Portions were smaller than expected for the price but very filling. We ordered wings, beef ribs, salmon Cesar salad , chocolate chip cookie with ice-cream, mashed potatoes and corn. The ribs turned into the following day's lunch. Unfortunately I'll be moving soon and won't be able to enjoy the food here anymore.
Excellent atmosphere and friendly attractive staff. Food options are geart. However the nachos I can not recommend. The burger and fries were delicious.
The BBQ burger is so tasty! One of my favorites! Service at the bar has been atrocious my last two visits. The bartender was more interested in personal conversations and her cellphone than bar patrons. Both times this was discussed amongst the 6 or so customers at the bar.
Ordered a platter, rotisserie chicken, brisket, and ribs. All the meats were delicious and cooked to perfection, falling off the bone, and large portions, however, the sides were seriously lacking in size. The platter was supposed to feed 4, yet each side was portioned for 1 individual. Good testing quality sides, but they definitely need to consider giving lager portions.
We've been multiple times. Large menu. No complaints with the bbq or service. I didn't care for the potato salad, bland like it was missing something. But the coleslaw is decent. This is a fairly loud place and sometimes the bar staff is even louder. Check their calendar of events before you go as they have karaoke, game night and live music sometimes which makes it impossible to have conversations with your table.
I love the vibe of Kaminski’s with the helpful staff, good beer selection, and lots of televisions for different sports events at one time. To me, the food is just okay. I’ve gone three times on very different occasions and each time the food was just okay. The taco trio and spiced wings apps weren’t terrible, but I wouldn’t get them again. The Aztec margarita tasted as if it was missing tequila. I will, however, return sometime for a few beers and a game.
Full disclosure: I wasn't planning on having lunch at Kaminski's. Yelp suggested the Super Q food truck, any it wasn't until we spotted it behind Kaminski's that I realized the truck is owned by Kaminski's. Interesting that the truck has better reviews than the brick and mortar location. Seeing the truck was closed and not feeling like trekking across town for something else, we walked inside. And waited. Several employees were sweeping the floors and wiping tables nearby, but no one acknowledged us for a bit. Once we were seated, service was much better. We both got water and menus, and we decided on pulled pork sandwiches. I selected the Carolina version, and my guy chose the sweeter Kaminski's version. His was pretty basic, the usual pork with sweet sauce; mine was bland. There was no flavor of vinegar, no spice. I added sauce from the table's condiment tray and a bit of the coleslaw, and it was much better. The garlic fries (a dollar upcharge) were on point. If you don't much care for garlic, you won't enjoy them. But if you're a fan...dive in! Taste and texture were perfect. All in all, for $30, I expected more flavor and probably more food. I get that BBQ takes time. Take that time, and make it something amazing.
Normally its a good place to eat some of the best barbeque anywhere. But last night it was a ufc night and as expected it was busy. Well me and my family waited in the line to be seated for about 30 minutes. Once we got to the waiter she told us it would be 45 dollars to watch the fight but we were not there for that. Come to find out that they were completely booked and didn't tell anyone or have a sign letting people know. The supervisor was completely rude and not respectful at all. Not sure if im coming back anytime soon.
It was okay. 3-Star Worthy. We got the home run, which was more like a stand up triple. Everything was good, not great. So they do apps pretty well. Got the BBQ combo with Brisket and Hot Sausage. Sausage was really good, enjoyed that. Brisket was really really dry, even with the sauce. We debated even bringing the leftovers home. Steamed veggies were completely flavorless. Potato salad wasn't bad, but not good either. Parmesan bread was basically bread with parmesan on it that they tossed in the broiler for a minute. Nice and crunchy, but not that much flavor. Would come back for a game and just get appetizers, but not coming back for a full meal.
The food was good, prices are okay. Just the services with a smile o friendliness it was not there. The place was half empty and there were many servers but still they all had a serious face. And when we ask for some things like water or drinks they took a while to come by. Maybe is the work place environment or something is off. So i think i will enjoy going somewhere else with less tension😋
Pretty decent barbecue but nothing I would say is outstanding. The brisket had a good flavor but wasn't really tender, more of a overcooked/tough. Overall not bad though, prices were high for the quality provided.
Friday evening of a bunch of ladies meeting for drinks and snacks. The host was borderline rude, the waiter was not attentive at all, leaving us for long periods of time without checking in. One person requested items for snacks (condiments), he eventually brought one of the 3 requested items. They were not too busy, so the lack of attention was surprising.. The parking was really bad, which was odd based on the lack of people inside.
Table service-5; Bar service-2; Venue- 4; Food-3. My husband and I went to Kaminski's for happy hour on a Friday. Because happy hour is from 3:30 - 5:30, I thought our drinks would be quick to the table; however, there was only one bartender, and we barely got drinks prior to our food. I ordered the three rib appetizer, which came with coleslaw and beans. The ribs were okay; the coleslaw was cabbage, mayo & sugar--not my favorite; the beans were an amazing surprise of tomato tang. This is a great venue for watching sports--plenty of screens. I ordered Sundevil Sangria, which did not pair well with BBQ. Stick with beer. Table service was excellent, and I appreciate the the hand washing station in the middle of the restaurant.
Interesting place with a lot of Poway history. Food was OK not great not very much barbecue sauce at all had to ask for some because sandwich was so dry. Service was mediocre acted like during us a favor for everything.
I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, kaminski style, for lunch. The sandwich had very little pulled pork, surprisingly little. The bun was good. It came with a small handful of fries. For almost $20 for the sandwich I wasn’t impressed. I also had a Diet Coke (maybe Pepsi). I’ve wasn’t ever offered a refill. My sister had a steak salad. The salad had no more than 5 pieces of wilted lettuce, a single cherry tomato sliced in half. The team was very well done, not cooked well, just over cooked.
The food was great! Excellent ribs and the brisket was on point too! We had a great time until the bartender started cussing right behind us. We had our 9 year old with us. His friends at the bar told him to watch his mouth but he continued with the cuss words. Very unprofessional since it is a family establishment. Will tell my friends not to bring their children there!
Your average BBQ joint. I had the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, it was more like a Carne asada sandwich. The meat was chopped, and very little to be honest..very underwhelming. Also had the wings and fries pickles. Fried.pickles are a must, if you're into them. Very tasty and generous portions
brisket was flavorful, tasty fork tender with a good bite, decent marble sauce was a light pour, tomato based sauce a little sweet, smokey and spice classic sides were refreshing slaw was crisp and seasoned with pepper country potato salad was al dente & extra creamy overall plate 3.7 🔥🔥🔥 follow for more national brisket plate reviews 🤠
The service was great and the atmosphere was fun. Lots of big screen TVs. The bbq was a little dry and the sides were lacking seasoning. Maybe we went on an off day, because the reviews from friends say the food is pretty good. Free parking. Indoor and outdoor seating. Outside there are lawn games. And inside there are some arcade games.
the service is great. Everyone there is very friendly , and the atmosphere is nice if you're up for some drinks and have a great time. this restaurant has a nice outdoor sitting area where kids can play and pets are allowed. The down part for me was the food , we ordered baby back ribs and brisket, mash potatoes, cold slaw, and bake beens. The ribs were dry and tested like ham with BBQ sauce. The brisket was very dry as well. It tested like can food. the sides were ok, but it is something i wouldn't order again. We else have some parmesan fries. These were delicious. so i don't know about the rest of the menu. if i ever go again, I'll totally update my review on that.
Very average bbq, kind of dry... And it was not cheap, either. The place was busy for Thursday night football so maybe we were there too late, but for $150, I expect better. Service was good, Cole slaw was very good. But the brisket and the ribs and the sampler were just not that good. Wish I could say better because I liked the feel of the place and the staff were great. Oh well.
07-Sep-2019. I was there for UFC 242. They had it in the back which suited me fine. Pros: The atmosphere is great. The servers were attentive and courteous. Cons: I waited roughly an hour for my food. I figured it's lunch Time and I ordered brisket so maybe it stalled. I ordered the BBQ combo. Brisket and Kaminski's pulled pork. Both were way to salty for me and did something wickedly evil to my stomach. I literally threw up right after I got home. I had only eaten that food today so I know it wasn't anything else. Maybe they should drop the BBQ and focus on burgers. Not sure I haven't had the burgers. I might go back and try those because again, the atmosphere and servers were great for the fight.
Went to watch UFC fight and have dinner. Food is mediocre and overpriced. Let’s not forget the UFC charge of $15/pp. I will be going elsewhere to watch UFC fights from now on.
On Wednesday nights they have trivia. This is great if you want to go play trivia with music so loud you cannot talk to your dinner partner and a crowd so loud you'd think you were at a sporting event. The quiet side of the restaurant was blocked off unfortunately. We were hungry and looking for a meal, but not at the expense of a headache. We couldn't stay. The server was kind enough not to charge me for my just delivered tea. I offered to pay. Could not have made it through the whole meal. Ill try again but not on a Wednesday.
My partner and I were looking for places to eat in Poway and we were craving barbecue ribs and we found this place on Google, we arrive at 8:30 p.m. half an hour before they close so we knew that we needed to order right away the server was really nice and suggested the sampler plate for two people. We thought the food was a little bit cold and that the pulled pork was a little stale. We left the place and my stomach started feeling a little funky when I got home I had nausea and felt like vomiting. There was definitely something off about the food. I don't usually write reviews and specially not bad reviews unless I had food poisoning and I just really want them to be careful with their food and holding temperature because foodborne illness is real. Also prices are super high.
$18 for 8 wings is crazy to me. The food is okay, not good enough to recommend to others. We ordered the mud pie for dessert, and it was frozen solid. We decided to take it to go, and it was still frozen solid when we got home(an hour drive). The only thing that was good about our experience was that the service was good.
me and my friends with the combo a barbecue chicken and brisket I ordered chips and french fries as the sides but only the chips came with the dish I had to ask again for the french fries the night we went there was a high school reunions so it was very loud like so loud you couldn't hear yourself think. The second dish was potato skins with both sauces a ranch in a spicy sauce with a side of beef brisket
TAKE OUT SERVICE AND TEXAS TOAST Ordered take out service for the Country sized beef rib dinner which was supposed to come with two sides and a "Texas" toast. This was my third time eating at this place but first time ordering take out. Everything was packed and ready to go by the time I arrived. We were so excited to eat because on the way home the food so good! But sadly, by the time we got home and opened up our containers, my second side was nowhere to be found. And when we unwrapped the "Texas" toast from the foil, I was expecting a Texas toast, not a "Rhode Island" toast. Aren’t Texas toast supposed to be Texas sized? The size of the toast was not proportioned to the meat at all. But what was more upsetting is not having the second side. To put it into context, I live 15 minutes away from this place. And when I called to inform the establishment that My side had not been included, they asked if I would come back. With gas prices these days and time to go back-and-forth for a side just didn’t seem right. It wasn’t until I kept silent on the line, the customer service rep said he would inform the management. Management came back and said, "we could give you another side the next time you come in or maybe an extra side… Does anyone else find this answer acceptable? This happened to me one other time at another BBQ establishment ironically also on the Fourth of July. What they did, was provide me a partial refund over the phone because they knew it would be a burden for me to drive back to their establishment to settle this mistake. What Kaminski‘s failed to do was try to resolve this issue right away to get things right with the customer. It is an absolute disappointment and waste of time when anyone orders takeout at a reputable establishment only to find out their order wasn’t 100% complete by the time you get home. Then what’s even more sad is when the best answer they could give is to just come in next time and will give you an extra side. Makes me wonder if they really care (or not) that I would ever come back. The point of this review is for Kaminski’s to verify the order next time, and should probably provide a real Texas size toast, or just name it something else where the customer won’t expect a huge Piece of toast. And lastly, a little bit more attention to what the customer is saying and do what needs to be done to make the customer happy if you expect any return customers. The food is good, but there’s a lot of other places where the food is also good so the defining factor of anyone deciding where to eat would naturally come to the customer Service piece.
This place used to be quite enjoyable, but has gone downhill over the past couple years. Service is hit & miss at best. Some of the workers are great, but some of the family staff that tend bar/serve are absolutely horrible, arrogant, loud/obnoxious, and don't value the customers unless they know you or you're a regular/bar-fly. The quality of the food is decent, but the portion size has shrunk while the prices have skyrocketed... yes inflation is hitting everyone, but the increase in prices here are far beyond other similar establishments. For example, $47 (before gratuity) for 1 order of chicken nachos (w/ guac), 1 beer, 1 soda. That's insane. I can get the same offering at a couple different sports bars just down the road for about 1/2 that price and it comes with a significantly larger portion of nachos and a wider selection of beers. Atmosphere is good for the sports bar, but I gave low points for not being valued and ignored by service staff. I don't need to pay to have this kind of experience. Kaminski's has seen their last dollar from me.
I keep wanting to like this place but am constantly disappointed. Yesterday service was incredibly slow. We waited 15 minutes for a drink, when there were exactly 6 other people in the place, and bartender just chatting with a couple servers. A staple of BBQ is usually baby back ribs - theirs are inedibly dry, even if you drown them in sauce. I've found this with their brisket also. Potato skins are good. Hot links are good, but $15 for one? Yikes
So over priced for what you get. Service is so slow for a bbq joint. I want to like this place more but can't. Waited over an hour for our food.
Pretty disappointed. Food was very expensive, which is to be expected for BBQ, but I also expect that the prices are paying for quality and quantity. Unfortunately, Kaminskis has neither. The brisket is not the way BBQ brisket should taste, it should be very tender, but it was quite tough. The beef ribs were decent, but very expensive and our server misled us about the price. They gave a price for a full rack of ribs (I think $37), but we ended up paying more than that (over $40) and it was a half rack instead of full with two sides instead (which is not what we wanted initially). We got an appetizer (fried pickles), which were just decent, and they were also $19 for not that many pickles. That's criminal, there's no way it should be that price, and if it is that price, it should be A LOT of pickles.
I've never been so embarrassed. I ordered for myself and a date . I ordered bbq chicken and pork special. With Texas toast on the side . The meal is supposed to be bbq chicken and pork, fries, and apple cobbler, with toast on the side. Well I was able to feed my date at least. My order I received was one dried out breast&wing, 3 pork ribs (mostly bone) one measly piece of cobbler. The Texas toast was nothing more than a slices of a French roll with butter toasted on one side (very tough to chew). I know that because that's all I ate, telling my date that I didn't feel well all of a sudden. I would Never recommend this place to anyone unless you want to pay $40.+for something like this. A Real Disappointment 😞
Terrible experience. Sat at bar then told the UFC fight in 1 1/2 hours. We had to be gone or we would be charged 15 per person Service slow and horrible. Server never asked if we needed anything - food took forever! Portions very small for price and profess to have Texas toast and beans - neither true! The brisket was dry and the beef ribs were very fatty! Very disappointed! Will not be back!
My experience with the staff was they were very high in attitude and very low in customer service skills. No smile , no greeting, very Snappy and rude. Acted as if somebody forced them to get out of bed and go to work at this horrible Place .wow would never eat there how can you even eat in peace around people like this.
I grew up going to Kaminski’s for sports parties & family dinners. The food used to be SO good. We hadn’t eaten here in maybe 5+ years and the food quality has drastically changed. There was no sauce/seasoning on my sisters pulled pork and our fries were extremely oily. Plus, the cost for dinner for 3 was $100+ for below average food. It’s unfortunate a family owned business that’s been around as long as I can remember has devolved like this but can raise the prices for their obviously frozen to table food.
Went to lunch on 8/14 /24 Mediocre food at best, pulled pork BBQ was bland. Waiter pre occupied with his friends, showing pics on his phone. I ordered some Nacho chips, Queso and salsa, to start with. Served nacho cheese sauce from a can, warmed in the microwave in a 4oz plastic cup, questioned this to our waiter, that's not queso, no real answer given. The soda co2 was about out / flat. We heard the cook ring the bell twice that our order was up waiter never picked it up. Cook brought our orders out, I commented yea we heard the bell ringing, and here you are serving us, he commented yep, here I am. Anyways, guessing that there was only seven guest Inside during lunch, should have been a slight hint. Prices really high for the amount of food served and service given. 6 oz of pulled pork, baked beans and mashed potatoes $23 bucks. Total order $70 for two. I will say the place seems to be a great venue to watch sports. Customer Service is key, at any level.
Got a rack of baby backs at Kaminski's today. Tight, overcooked, dry, with little or no smoke. Oven baked? and drowned in sweety sauce. It took a chef knife to separate them and the bones lifted right off the meat, dry as.. well.. a bone. $36 boondoggle
We went as a group to eat and play trivia on Wednesday June 5th. First to arrive was our friends and there was a total of 7. When my husband and got there we waited about 15 minutes before we got service and when my husband ordered and I wasn't ready at the time and had to wait another 15 minutes before I asked to order. I noticed that our waitress was busy behind the bar stocking cups and attending to everyone at the bar then coming to check on her tables. On top of that because our table was 6 or more they charged us 20% gratuity, so I think our waitress didn't care because she was getting paid but her service was the worst I have ever had at a restaurant. We will never be going back and we love trivia so we are going to Oggi's instead.
I’ll start with the server I had to flag and ask twice if I can sit down and eat the woman that helped seemed less then thrilled and then the brisket I got was so dry it would hardly go down my throat and then it took another 20-30 minutes to get the check. The only good thing about this place was the tv and all the games they played .
Terrible service, someone at the bar was extremely rude to us. We came here after dinner for the UFC fight so were not hungry. I got an alcoholic drink and my friend asked for a soda as he doesn't drink. The person at the bar showed attitude and poor manners demanding we order more coz a soft drink is not enough money spent, smh. That was after paying $15 for a cover just to walk in. We ordered some overpriced food item that we didn't even eat so she could get her money and leave us alone. Her attitude was so audible and disrespectful that even people next to us were shocked and left prematurely. Definitely won't be back.
The sports bar atmosphere is great, nice place. But the BBQ is really dry, tender and smoky but very dry which was a total turn-off. I don’t mind the $42 for the Brisket and Ribs 1/2 Combo and Pepsi but sadly I can’t recommend it and won’t be coming back.
Pricy BBQ Restaurant that charges for BBQ sauce. Not for extra sauce by the way, THEY CHARGE FOR THE SAUCE that SHOULD COME WITH $50 BBQ Combo PLATTER. $50 BBQ that doesn't come with BBQ sauce. I've had BBQ in over 13 states all across America in 23 towns and cities, I've never came across BBQ place that doesn't give BBQ sauce without charging. I 've been a server for years and try to give a benefit of the doubt.
This will sound funny because yes- I am complaining however, I promise I really don't ask for much. As someone who worked for years in the hospitality/ food service industry, I genuinely try to give grace all the time. But, the quality of the "BBQ" (if you could call it that) was poor, low quality, low effort. The menu boasts of meats slow cooked for 13hrs or so (don't recall the exacts) but my thing is... yall cooked that meat low and slow for HOURS, and didn't think to add an ounce of seasoning? Not even salt. The pulled pork was flavorless, the brisket was bland and extremely chewy. My coworkers have a bar so low, it must be in hell for the fact that some of them did enjoy the meat. Fish tacos were okay, for the price? (skip it). The safest thing I had was chicken tenders because I mean they were clearly frozen before hand. The prices for the quality of food were outrageous. The drinks were also sub par. Like my coworker sent her drink back and another wanted to as well but didn't because we didn't want to be more difficult. And the only reason anything was difficult is because we didn't enjoy the food. The wedges were delicious but again (frozen before hand) it's hard to mess up frozen then fried foods so that was the only plus. When I complained about my order, (I got the loaded fries or something like that and swapped to wedges then added pulled pork.) I was able to swap to the chicken tenders and Mac n cheese instead. (Mid) If you are used to food that has no true flavor or is very very VERY bland and overcooked at times... look no further than Kaminskis Poway. And be prepared to pay more than the food is worth for sure. Our waitress was nice, she wasn't a problem at all. But for a larger party we did quite a bit of waiting. We got there and sat for so long before drinks arrive and before our order was even taken. Food wasn't so far behind at least (and I would hope not just based on the quality.) All in all, I would never recommend this place to anyone whatsoever based on the food quality. In fact, I'd warn people to stay away unless bland Tasteless BBQ is what they're craving. 😂 I was genuinely flabbergasted by my meal. I have no problem paying good money for food, I love food, but that was absolutely not it and I'm sorry for my taste buds and to my wallet because I wasted money on that dang food. Left the place with fried frozen tenders and Mac n cheese that's not even on par with a Mac n cheese as "basic" as chic- fil- a. I'm still shocked by this experience. *warning, food in photo will appear to look tastier than it is.* At least it made for a good photo op. And I'm still writing bc I'm genuinely so upset by this place I can't believe my coworkers suggested it. Absolutely wild. My martini was good though. Not $14 good but I'm sure it's similarly priced anywhere.
