This place was the first Afghan restaurant I ever dined in and the food was legendary! Lamb shank all the way!
One of the best afghan restaurants. The mix grill and lamb shank is so good. The salad is the best salad you'll have in any restaurant. Dont forget to get qabuli on the rice.
One of the oldest Afghani restaurant, serving over thirty years “ old is gold” my go to place when I crave for Afghani food . Nice authentic food with vegetarian options - Great Atmosphere - Nice Afghani music in the background . You will Love it.
I have never had Afghan food and a friend of mine took me here to have my first experience. I am absolutely amazed at how delicious it was. Everything was made fresh, didn’t take too long to get to us and the restaurant was quiet and inviting. I highly recommend it!
I went this evening at my old neighborhood in Floral Park Queens NY to take part at Real Estate Investors Club Meeting. After the meeting I was so hungry I needed some authentic food Indian food that I like so much. Indeed I bump infront this restaurant, so I took my chance with them.. Indeed I find one the best Afghan combo fish dish I ever eat in New York.. The place is nice clean and cozy.. The staff is amazingly polite and serve me delightfully. I am very pleased to choose this restaurant. I will definitely comeback to experience more Afghan recipes.. I highly recommend this place...to everyone.. Who is looking for a great Restaurant...
The best white sauce in town!!!! We always get the salmon kebab platter. Comes with rice and a salad. GET THE CARROT AND RASIN ADD-ON, it’s shredded carrot and sweet raisins served on top of the rice or on side with any dish. It’s soooo delicious. This spot does a lot of take out orders but best bet it’s to take a little break and eat it there. The food does take some time to be prepared because everything is always made fresh to order but the cute “mellow yellow” ambiance, clean dining room and tv will keep you company. If you love chicken and rice platters but want more QUALITY. This could be the place for you. Their chicken kebab platter is a little more expensive ( and I don’t think they serve pita but their bread is soooo good). This is a great switch in a healthy and fresh direction, not to mention WAY MORE CLEAN THAN THOSE CARTS. Plus their salad is ALWAYS fresh. We order sambosas to start as an appetizer which are a bit greasy but still good. In the pic I posted you see we got roasted eggplant as a side dish and it was so good. Flavor and texture were ON POINT. WE LOVE YOU AFGAN KEBAB HOUSE.
The food was amazing! I took the chicken and fish combo and my friend took the chef combo. I loved the lamb chops and fish. The chicken was too chewy so didn't like it and the lamb Kebab wasn't tasty either. The Spanish cook and the Afgan owners were very kind and quick! My fav was the Hummus with pita and the salad they served. Will def go back and have the fish platter. Was totally worth it.
Where's the meat? Felt like eating a mixed grill , out of all the places around , I decided to give this place a try. It was rated 3.6 on Google, but had 4 stars on Uber eats. Went to pickup food , it was not ready. Good sign- food fresh? Got my order and it felt light, the bag was blowing in the wind. I had to double check my order to make sure it was not incorrect. To my surprise, it was not. There was a bite of Salmon, 3 bites of chicken, overcooked kebab, and a piece of lamb chop. There was nothing outstanding or spectacular about the taste. It was okay. Would I order again, probably not. There many restaurants in the area.
I have had dinner here few times. Very good food and reasonable prices. The service is slow and parking is little tough in the area otherwise I would have given 5 stars. For those going for the first time, I would suggest to try the Chef's grilled combo meal! (Fish, lamb, chicken with rice, salad & bread) One negative: Clothes(jacket) smell like food after leaving the restaurant. The dining area needs better ventilation to prevent this.
Their food has gotten so little and stingy with the prices raised. The combos pack rice served is so little and the meat is all reduced did not expect this low of food in a package for $20 minimum per package for order of 5 packs of different combo.
The owner and Mexican working here got the nastiest attitude. Give small portions for a hefty price.
Don’t eat here not only did he up the prices and lowered the portions but the food I got from them made my stomach sick. I hope god gets this greedy owner
I had a very disappointing experience here. I did not receive the food I ordered, and what was given was of noticeably lower quality compared to other restaurants. The staff were extremely rude when I raised the issue and refused both a refund and a replacement. I would not recommend this place at all. PLEASE STAY OUT OF THIS PLACE AT ANY COST!! Food quality also not good and i wish I could put zero star if there was an option!!
So disappointed with the service. I placed an order for chicken tandoori x 3 and got something else completely, when i called to enquire about the order, their response was it was out of stock, and whatever they replaced cost more than what we ordered, such nasty attitude. They did not mentioned a word when i went to pick up the order. Horrible service and Worst experience ever. This is exactly why the restaurant has negative reviews. Will never shop here again!!!!
Horribly small portions for the price, any other Afghan restaurant gives great portions that don’t leave you feeling hungry after eating the meal. The lamb was so chewy that cutting it with a knife felt like a workout. The salad looked dirty, almost as if they recycled it from past customers. The cutlery (knife and fork) also seemed dirty and old, so they must purchase new ones. The floor looked dirty, and the seating was so small that a table for 4 people looked big enough for only 2. The atmosphere inside is dark. Please save yourself the trip and go to an Afghan restaurant in Fresh Meadows, Astoria, or Long Island City. I feel horrible that I have come here.
My family got food poisoning after dining here. Thanks a lot. Reported to 311. And they didn't give or offer water for customers dining in lol
Total $3 meat in one dish. $15.00 profit. These people think people are stupid. Horrible just horrible. White sause is mayonnaise and dill. Just mixed in. Service is horrible. If you have money to waste and get garbage quality food then order here. The lamb was fried to a crisp like a rock. What a great combo meal. 🤢 disgusting. Will NEVER order here again!
I don’t understand how this restaurant is still open. There is no tissue in the bathroom. Dryer is broken and the way it’s hanging it’s very dangerous. Lastly I ordered salmon fish and beef steak but I got lamb chop instead beef steak. I told the manager I don’t eat lamb he replied that’s not his concern. He didn’t apologise once or says sorry.
