We went on a Wednesday evening for drinks/dinner and had a great time. We had Mussels and Fries (fries were soggy) Our server was Billy and he was super polite and took care of all our needs and was very courteous. Definitely recommend the place if you are in the Palos Verdes area.
We had a wonderful experience this last weekend. We had a celebration is life for a dear family member, and the service and care was impeccable. We had forgotten our gift in the car at the valet, Brooklyne at the host station was so kind and sent a shuttle to the valet to collect it. I didn’t have to miss any time with my family. Further, our server Martin was phenomenal. He was knowledgeable in the cuisine and made our selections effortless so we could enjoy the time together. Javier is an exceptional manager, ensuring that his team was celebrated as well. Thank you for an amazing experience.
Perfect spot for a casual, yet refined lunch on the water. Amazing view and the food was outstanding. Mahi Mahi sandwich was my fav but the lobster roll ( in everyone’s pictures) was great too. Mahi taco appetizers are huge - enough for a meal. Mushroom fries were a stand out dish that I’ve never seen anywhere else. I typically hate key lime pie but this was delicious. The perfect balance of lime taste in, what seemed like a great tasting cheesecake base. So good.
Outstanding views! The good and entertainment was wonderful. You won’t mind the 1-hour wait time when you have these views & entertainment. If you’re staying at the resort you can make reservations, but if your not you can’t make reservations. Amazing & the kids did s’mores for desert. Thank you Nelsons for a great experience.
Great atmosphere! The patio is lovely overlooking the coast. They had a delicious burger, but the steak sandwich was the best dish at the table! Cocktails had a hefty mark-up, but they tasted ok. The server was kind and attentive, but the hostess was having a spat with a guest upon our arrival. She was kind to us but didn't take the other guest's feedback well. Overall, I'd recommend the atmosphere, food, and wait staff's service👌
My husband and I came to Terranea for his birthday and we stopped by Nelson’s for lunch and a quick cocktail at sunset. We were lucky enough to have Noe as our server both times. He had a great personality, made amazing suggestions, and just added to our already perfect day. We’ll most definitely return on a Sunday per his recommendation.
OMG I am in love with this place, I ordered the tenderloin tips with parmesan fries and it was the best thing I ever put in my mouth. We had such a good time hanging out there on the terrace and playing with the dogs, that when I left there I immediately started to plan the next time I would be able to return. Great food, great service, great view AND and all-round enjoyable dining experience.
The food at Nelson’s was so good and the views are incredible. Also the waitress Amanda was such a sweet lady! She made our experience that much more wonderful! I will be back and hopefully have her as a waitress again! Also Adrian made my friend a drink that she put together and my friend absolutely loved it! Thanks Amanda thanks Adrian you guys are the best!
Wide choice on the menu. Excellent taste. And a breathtaking view when walking from the free parking lot along the ocean towards the restaurant. We will be back !
I can't wait to visit when we open back up! The views here are absolutely priceless. They offer to-go food and cocktails you can have on one of the tables overlooking the pacific ocean. We saw whales, dolphins, and pelicans flying by while enjoying a blond ale. The best part is the staff was so genuine, pleasant, and helpful.
Nelson’s is a restaurant with one of the best ocean views in Rancho Palos Verdes. It has a relaxed, coastal atmosphere that works well for both casual lunches and sunset dinners. The menu features American style dishes with a focus on seafood, and while the prices are on the higher side, the portions and presentation usually match the setting. Service is generally attentive, and the outdoor seating area is a highlight if the weather is nice. Overall, it’s a solid choice if you’re looking for a meal with a view in the area.
Okay first time we had been to Terranea Resort area and first-time to Nelson's! :-) as we were walking by on our hike I noticed that one gentleman was having what looks like a great hamburger! So as we continue our hike along the trail and we were coming back we decided to stop here and eat! :-) I had the hamburger and it was simply outstanding! :-) we will definitely be back again
Very nice place. Nice location, great food (had a poke salad) and friendly staff. Nothing to complain really - just not that much variety in the menu. I overheard it was due to covid - and used to be much more. I can’t really remember if they even played music- which is a good sign - tells me it could not have been that annoying or I’d have remembered. :)
Nelson's is a great spot to have dinner and take in the sunset. The food is good, but the real draw is the view. Make a reservation ahead of time and you won't have to wait for a table. We parked on the street and walked in to Terranea. We got there early to walk the grounds, and it was a lovely way to spend the evening.
Top Los Angeles location, without a doubt. Great food, amazing location, luxurious staff, and the ocean was close and beautiful. Food and wine timing was all messed up but the rest was so good we just went with it. I will be back table 91 and 92 allow you to watch seals in the kelp. Good times
This restaurant has one of the best views in the world (in my humble opinion). You can view the most gorgeous sunsets as you eat a scrumptious salad with salmon (my choice) or another great entree or appetizer. Bring your warm jacket - it could be a bit chilly during the winter months. But no worries- there are ample heaters and lovely fire pits.
It was my first visit to Nelson's as I have been to Terranea on many occasions. The food here is a bit on the pricey side, but you have the great views and the food is excellent. I had the sliders which were excellent and the ahi poke over rice were just delicious. Overall, a pleasant dining experience with some amazing views. Highly recommend!
Beautiful scenery, great atmosphere, great service, great food. From the hostess who asked repeatedly if there was anything we need, heaters, blankets, or anything else to make our evening more enjoyable and was very welcoming, to our waiter who was very gracious, extremely personable, genuinely nice and created a top notch experience the entire time. We celebrated our 5yr anniversary, followed by me proposing to my now fiance, and it was amazing, and played out fast better than my expectations. Everything was fantastic!
The atmosphere was absolutely fantastic! The view was breathtaking 🌊... How often can you have lunch and watch the whales 🐳 and the dolphins 🐬 swim by? I ordered fish and chips 🐟🍟 and my son ordered a hamburger 🍔. Both were fresh and satisfactory... Nothing extraordinary but definitely very good. Honestly, putting it all together with the view... I would give this a must try! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Amazing view at one of the most beautiful beaches in California. A hidden gem of you know how to get here. Definitely recommend a beach walk down the trail that’s close by after you enjoyed a fine meal. One of our favorite places to stop and relax when visiting Rancho Pales Verdes, California.
Great place to visit. Hidden restaurant with an amazing view. Ordered the lobster roll, spicy chicken sandwich and Nelson's burger. Food is on the expensive side but it was great! You can only make reservation if you stay at the hotel. Otherwise, it's first come, first serve. They have tables outside if you want to order to go. The hotel has a small parking lot that is free if you just want beach access or if you are coming to the restaurant.
Let's talk about those swordfish tacos, folks. They're like a flavor explosion in your mouth—grilled swordfish, fresh toppings, and a zesty sauce that'll blow your taste buds away. Pair 'em with their lip-smacking margaritas, and you're in foodie heaven. And don't even get me started on the nachos. Loaded with all the good stuff, they're a cheesy delight. But the real showstopper? The sunset view. Picture this: sipping a margarita, munching on tacos and nachos, and witnessing a jaw-dropping sunset over the ocean. It's pure magic, my friends.
I appreciated my meal by the fireplace. Service was excellent! Food was fantastic! One must be careful (drive slow) on the route to get to the restaurant but once you're in the ambiance is on point! I enjoyed the foliage and architecture, romance, good wine.
Nelson’s was very enjoyable after a short walk from the resort over to the restaurant. Truly a hidden gem where you can see the cliffs surrounding the ocean and have an outstanding view for not an insane amount of money. Tons of cute dogs walking around and massive cactus to see. I’d come back any day. This place would be super romantic at night and we all loved the food. This is a great find
5 stars for the food, the view, and especially the management! The scenery here is unmatched, and the coastal cuisine was fresh and flavorful. Our server Nayelli recommended that we order the Ceviche, lobster roll, BBQ Brisket Sandwich and key lime pie everything was 10/10 thank you Girl!! Javier the manager is a true professional, very attentive to detail and made our meal feel special. It's the perfect spot for a relaxed but high-quality dining experience. Will definitely be back!!!
We had a very long wait, not to be seated but for the server took forever and I got the impression that he was a new hire. He was extremely nice though so it was totally ok. We will definitely go back next time we visit Terranea
We at the Nelson’s burger it was amazing. Didn’t taste like it was frozen actually a decent burger not the atmosphere and vibe was just on point. If you get a chance get a room here it’s something that you should definitely experience and the dining event alone wasn’t enough to really capture the whole essence of what this place is which used to be marine land
Nelson's is a cozy, casual spot known for its comforting American classics and friendly atmosphere. It’s a great place for hearty meals like burgers, sandwiches, and comfort food favorites. The service is warm and welcoming, making it feel like a neighborhood hangout. Prices are reasonable, and portions are generous. Perfect for a laid-back meal with friends or family. Not overly fancy, but reliable and satisfying.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Nelson’s at Terranea Resort Nelson’s is truly one of the most beautiful coastal spots in Southern California ~the views alone are worth the trip! Perched above the ocean cliffs, it offers a breathtaking panoramic view, especially during sunset. Watching the sun dip into the Pacific while sitting by the outdoor fire pits feels absolutely magical. The atmosphere is casual yet refined ~relaxed coastal vibes with that special Terranea touch. We tried the Smoked BBQ Sandwich with Caesar salad and the Nelson Burger with sweet potato fries, and both were absolutely delicious. Clam chowder was ok. The BBQ sandwich was tender and flavorful with just the right amount of smoky sweetness, while the burger was perfectly juicy and cooked to perfection. The sweet potato fries were crisp and addictive ~ easily some of the best we’ve had! Whether you’re stopping by for lunch with a view, a sunset dinner, or just drinks by the fire, Nelson’s is the kind of place you’ll want to linger and take it all in. The staff were friendly and attentive, and everything came out fresh and beautifully presented. Special thanks to our server Pierce We’ll definitely be coming back ~ next time, we’ll plan to arrive a little early just to enjoy every moment of that spectacular sunset. 🌅
Exceeded my expectations! Went for a casual Monday afternoon walk and spontaneously ended up at Nelson’s—wow. My husband and I shared the Shrimp and Lobster Cobb and it was amazing. There was a generous about of lobster and shrimp. We also had the poke bowl. Everything was so fresh. The view and vibe were perfect for a nice lunch.
I went to Nelson's for a late lunch on Saturday, and there was a long line even after 3 pm. I ordered Nelson's burger with Caesar salad, and it was perfect. With a cool breeze from the sea, the tables were well covered by umbrellas, and we were all super comfortable. Looks like there was a staff shortage, which may be why the restaurant uses only part of the tables. The service is attentive and top-notch. Would come back again if I have a chance to visit the area.
While spending a few days in and around LA, I stumbled upon Nelson’s at Terranea Resort, a place that turns out to be well-known and genuinely loved - not just by resort guests, but by locals too. I kept hearing people speak fondly of events and live concerts held in and around it, and now I get why. Nelson’s has that sweet blend of indoor, outdoor, and semi-covered seating, all set in an unpaved, shore-side setting, where the sound of the waves becomes part of the atmosphere. Whether you’re tucked inside or lounging outside, the vibe is relaxed and effortless. The service is warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful, the kind you notice for the right reasons. The kitchen offers a solid lineup of familiar, comfort-driven menu items, with generous portions and no unnecessary complications - think elevated classics done right. What really sets Nelson’s apart, though, is the environment. There's a cool, coastal-meets-Mexican-siesta kind of energy, with open fireplaces, soft lighting, and laid-back cocktail chairs scattered about like an invitation to chill. It feels less like a restaurant and more like a casual oceanfront hangout that just happens to have great food and even better views. A perfect spot for an easy meal, a drink at sunset, or a low-key evening by the fire. Definitely one to return to.
Venturing through Terranea Resort for a hike and ran into Nelson's. What a great spot for a beverage while enjoying a spectacular view and seating overlooking the ocean. The thoughtful menu looks prepared with fresh ingredients sourced locally. We stopped in to enjoy a drink, appetizers and burgers. Ceviche is so fresh and flavorful and pairs well with their meaty chicken wings. Local beers on tap by Three Weavers and Beachwood brewing were ice cold and flavorful with just the right amount of hops. Service was superb, we couldn't stop raving about the staff. We'll return to Nelson's as the place to view a sunset, enjoy good vibes with great weather in rancho Palos Verdes.
I’ve been here twice on my trips to LA and both times have been great. Easy to book and great views across the sea! Super friendly staff who never rush or bother you but always there when you need anything. I had the lobster roll the first trip and this time the blackened salmon salad, both were lovely. My colleague had the swordfish tacos and enjoyed them and my husband had the burger and said it was really tasty. It’s a great location to come as you can then wander around the hotel grounds and trails & maybe see dolphins!
Starting with the view, this is a great location, open to the public not just guests. Jen was our server, she was amazing, my Poke bowl was amazing, I think one of the best Poke I had 🏆. My wife got the fish and chips, got to taste the fish, it was good, finished with dessert lemon pie which I enjoyed until the very end. Will definitely recommend, little pricey but it's expected here in California.

Loved the location - it was very beautiful and on a Saturday we were able to get a walk-in table outside. I understand they were a bit busy, and the servers were really nice but after taking our initial order no one checked in on us for a long time until I finally had to ask what the status of our burger was. I really liked that they had vegan cheese on the vegan burger, few places do! The burger was ok, not too flavorful but the fries were great.
A great place to have a date or bring your out of town guests here. It has a gorgeous ocean view. Sipping a drink while enjoying the sun and ocean is the best way to enjoy life. After a hike along the Terranea hiking trail, we stopped by Nelson's to get a drink and some snacks. Since we had seen a lot of posting of the giant pretzel on Yelp, we ordered one to go with our drinks. It was the best pretzel I have ever had. It was soft and tasty. Besides pretzel, I heard that the hamburger is excellent, and fish and chip is also amazing. we shall return soon to try out their food on the menu. Our server provided outstanding service to us. Hats off to her. We really enjoyed our time here. I heard that the restaurant also offer live music at night.
This is a great restaurant with fantastic views of the Pacific Ocean and Santa Catalina Island. I came here on a Saturday for lunch and the wait time was about 45 minutes for a party of 3. Little did I know, they accept reservations now! No more waiting in line but be aware that resort guests have first priority if the restaurant is busy. While you wait, might as well enjoy the views and take plenty of pictures of the resort and/or the nature around it. Food: My parents enjoy the lobster rolls here so all 3 of us ordered exactly that. They give a generous amount of meat and they don't overpower it with the mayo. The bun is nicely toasted and it's not too soft when you bite it. As mentioned earlier, we also ordered clam chowder and it didn't look like chowder at all. When we tasted it, it looked more like overdone oatmeal. They didn't add enough water to their "new batch" but since we were at the end of our meal, we didn't want to complain.
You cannot get a view this amazing in many places. First time at Nelson’s and I had a great experience. The server was really friendly and the place was great. Big patio sunny/shady (umbrellas) and big indoor space as well. I went with some coworkers for lunch and had a couple of drinks first while we watched some dolphins swim by. We then ordered some appetizers and lunch. The food was good (nothing mind blowing) but it was really expensive. You definitely pay for the view you get. I will be coming back with my wife for a date night someday - seems like the perfect spot for that setting.
Great food. Service was a bit slow, but they were very busy. Chilly with the breeze off the ocean. Would not have gotten a table without a reservation. Some loud kids with lame parents soured our dinner. Expensive place. Parking was not easy and ended up doing the valet. First time there and getting to the restaurant through the resort was not easy... prepare yourself for a long hilly walk with steps.
Met for brunch at Nelson's with some friends and enjoyed a great Pumpkin French Toast with some great gourmet Jasmine tea. My husband ordered some tasty, cheesy Habanero Chilaques with black beans topped with over easy customized eggs. The view on the patio was sublime with the sun shining on the cresting waves. We were close enough to see whales but alas, none appeared when we were dining. Still, a great day with friends.
This is a favorite restaurant around here and we were able to get a reservation for four at lunch. The parking is valet or remote with a shuttle down to Nelsons. The attendant at the gate can help you. When we arrived we were seated quickly and the service was good. We had beer and wine and it was cold and tasty. They also have a full bar. We ordered our lunch and people began filling in around us. We sat chatted and enjoyed our drinks in the sun and noticed groups arrived after us were being served. So we were hmmm? The waiter told us the kitchen had gotten behind and we were up next. Our lunch came out shortly afterwards and was delicious. UrbanCowgill April 2023
If you’re looking for a casual brunch with ocean views or are staying at Terranea, then Nelson’s is an easy choice. My family and I had a reservation here for 11:30am on a Saturday and got seated immediately. Both indoor and covered outdoor seating is available but I’d recommend sitting outside to enjoy the ocean views. I ordered the green veggie curry (this is a vegetarian option although you can add chicken) and I really liked the coconut curry sauce. The pulled pork sandwich my dad had was a bit dry and the fries were overly salted, but overall it was still a decent meal. The clam chowder was creamy and quite filling despite the small serving size. Service was slow but as long as you’re not in rush, it’s all good. To see a reel of this spot, check on @dinewithshanelle on IG!
I would say the food is a 3.5, service is pretty good, and you're really paying for the ocean view (in a nice resort). We got 3 apps for food, 2 drinks each and the bill came out to be about $160 with tip. I'd say if you're looking for something convenient (if you're hiking in the area) or want to spend a few hours on the resort, this is a good place... but I wouldn't say it's anything really great. Just a good place for nice view. Maybe get a drink or something small, and get good food elsewhere! I still rated it 4 stars given the vibe. Dog friendly. The mussels were the best over the ahi tuna salad and least favorite was ceviche!
This place has a spectacular view, highly recommend making a reservation. We were seated on high table ocean view outdoors. The lobster roll and shrimp tacos were good. The calamari appetizer was ok. Our waiter was having an off day because we waited forever for our food and everything came together appetizers and meal. He didn’t seem too interested in serving us. The experience, food quality and price doesn’t match the high end resort. There’s so many restaurants with ocean views down the coast we will definitely not be returning.
This is a beautiful restaurant located over a cliff overlooking the sea. The views are incredible. The service and the food was mediocre just to get into the resort and go to the restaurant. There’s a $10 parking fee and it’s a valet. The grounds were beautiful, but the way to the restroom can be very long. We waited over an hour to get seated, but we made the best of it by walking around and enjoying the grounds and the views of the ocean. There was some miscommunication about the seating. The bench seats closest to the water our self service you can get a drink at the bar and see yourself in that area. However there’s a plexiglass that separates the open area from the area that you actually get waiter to serve you.
Breathtaking Views and Delicious Coastal Fare at Nelson’s Nelson’s is a must-visit spot in Palos Verdes—offering unbeatable ocean views and a relaxed, coastal atmosphere. Perched on the cliffs at Terranea, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a laid-back meal while watching the sunset over the Pacific. The menu is fresh and flavorful, with standout seafood dishes, great burgers, and crisp local brews. The fish tacos and calamari are especially good. The service is friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the vibe is casual yet polished. Whether you’re visiting for lunch, happy hour, or a sunset dinner, Nelson’s delivers an unforgettable experience with views that truly steal the show. Highly recommend!
Last week we celebrated my birthday there. Food was okay. I like well cooked fish but choice was seared. It was eatable. Since they were really busy service was okay.My wife and her parents often go there for dinner. That was my first time. Near the resort has a public parking and valet parking as well. From the resort to the restaurant you can Walk with a beautiful view and wild rabbits 🐇 for 6 minutes, they will give you the instructions or they provide the shuttle service as well by luxury car. Outdoor sitting in very cold since it is near the ocean but they have the heater.Over all was great experience.
Getting to the restaurant is a bit unclear from the parking lot and a lengthy walk. We had a reservation to sit outside and were seated quickly but there was no shade and it wasn’t offered. The service felt rushed but they were able to move us to a shaded picnic table. The food selection felt small, but the salad was delicious. The views are everything. The fire pit being on felt a lil bit excessive given the current weather condition. There were kids close to the fire pit and there was no barrier.

I really liked this restaurant however our experience was so disappointing. We were seated and shortly afterwards, a group of families with about ten young children were seated next to us. The parents let their children run and scream without ANY concern for the other people who were there. At one point, one child was pouring Tabasco sauce on the ground until I had to ask her to stop. This is the parents fault for not watching their children but I also felt the restaurant’s staff should have said something to this group of clueless parents,
3 stars because today was just not the day to have dinner. There were like 3 different events happening there. We were told 2 1/2 hours to be seated. We decided to stay because I felt we would not wait that long. I believe we probably waited 1 1/2 hours and that was because I kept checking to see if we could be seated sooner. Some people were told a 3-hour wait. Anyhow, the live band and a wedding brought a large crowd out. Finally, once we were inside and ordered our food, I was pleasantly surprised. The food was fresh, and the French fries were hot. I will give this place another try. Simple, because I live in the neighborhood.
Phenomenal location. Excellent service. We were there in between meal times to refer. The food was OK. I feel like you're paying for the location and the great service. But the best food will be found elsewhere on the property. The free parking lot is also a bit of a hike from the restaurant. A very nice man driving a golf cart offered to give us a lift which we accepted. He said we could give him a call to get back to our car, but we chose to walk along the bluff which was beautiful. The service on this property is fantastic.

Très bon café si yummy it’s like it has almond milk and it has vanilla syrup which I don’t find everywhere so I was so happy.
Very disappointed. After a long flight I was looking forward to get some food at Nelson’s and it took forever. I get it that the place is busy, but hour and a half for a burger….this is ridiculous. If you under staff on the kitchen, don’t sit people. First I’ve waited 20 minutes for a table when it was tables available and then this long wait for a BURGER. While we waited place completely emptied out. The scent of burger was on my hands for 5 hours, I washed my hands 10 times with a lot of soap and scent was still super strong. I wouldn’t recommend this place. $22 for a burger that takes forever…no thank you. It is convenient that it’s on the resort location, but if you really looking for a pleasant experience, better Uber somewhere else.
POOR SERVICE FROM MANAGER- I really hate writing any type of negative review, as I like to use my platform to support local business. I was at the restaurant today with my team for a day of hiking and a working lunch. Our waitress was GREAT- until towards the end of the day. Apparently they needed to set up the outdoor area for a wine tasting. The manager sent the poor girl over to basically give us a time we had to be kicked out by. Was very off putting and it disrupted our conversation multiple times. The right thing to do would have been for the manager to come over himself and explain the situation and offer a solution of alternative seating, instead of having our check basically dropped in front of us and were told we have to pay now and get up. Such a bummer. The food was delicious (as always).
Made a reservation a month prior to sit outside by the ocean and they were not able to accommodate for Easter. I'll be there. The manager was accommodating.
Service was horrible we waited over an hour for the food . Alondra completely forgot that we were there. Until I stand up and ask because people that got there 20 minutes after us got their food.\n…
GM Zach Blackmore was not willing to honor our reservation or willing to work with my father on his wedding night, waited over an hour just to receive notice that we couldn't get a table.
Food was burnt, cold and tasted bitter. Nelson ate it. I couldn't. We went at 8am. I was finally served with something edible at 12.30. Unacceptable. And tge server was very moody. Will not eat aga…
So excited to celebrate my 60th with my family at this lovely, coastal restaurant. Had a reservation for 6 for lunch. Arrived 15 minutes early and parked in the self-parking area (not valet). …
Really bad service! The server demonstrated unprofessional and discriminatory behavior. My unfinished food was cleared away without my consent, and my reasonable requests were ignored. They didn’t even give us water…
Awful customer service. We ended up leaving before even sitting down to eat because Chris, who I believe to be the manager treated us with condescending hostility when we asked to join the wait list. Told us we could not after giving a few excuses. Confused about not being able to wait for a table, we then watched 2 other party’s get seated. When I tried to speak to the hostess privately he came over and spoke loudly over me interrupting me multiple times. I immediately walked away because he obviously did not want our service for whatever reason.
Came here with my family for birthday celebrations. The waitress was not the best. When we gave her our cakes she was confused on what to do with them. She also didn’t tell us the tip was included so on top of the 18% she got another 20% for not telling us. She barely checked in, our waters were empty, she just looked confused the entire time. And we still tipped her. But the extra 38% tip is insane. They haven’t called us back either to give us our refund.
This place has unfortunately really declined in quality. We both got immediately sick from the tuna poke bowl. They also served me coffee with curdled milk. The whole experience was disgusting, minus the views. Come here for drinks (no coffee). Definitely avoid the food. Was still recovering the next day. The manager apologized but I'd be too scared of their food safety issues to eat here again.
I don’t understand how a luxury resort can be keeping this restaurant the way it does. The menu is pretty much basic bar food (without the low prices), the uniforms they give the servers are awful, the title of the menu item I had is “Kale and Quinoa Salad” but there were like 10 grains of quinoa. The other menu items were also scant. It’s basically just a big plate of Kale for 22 dollars. But even if you forget all that…then there was a hair in it. I have been here before and been disappointed but you always think about how the view is nice and maybe the food will improve. Nope. Just disappointing in every way. HOW is this at a place like Terranea???
Be careful with your bill — they will overcharge you for items you never ordered. Always ask for an itemized bill and double-check before you pay. The female server with glasses, working in the outdoor area, named “Kaiser,” messed up our bill four times and never apologized. We ordered four different courses, but they charged us for two of each while only serving us one of each. On top of that, they added an extra course that we never ordered. This was clearly intentional, not a mistake. The management is terrible as well. We also ordered two different tacos but were only served one. When we questioned it, the server insisted we had already eaten both — unbelievable! To make matters worse, the server twice brought us food meant for the next table, and we had to point out it wasn’t ours. This is not just a mistake — it feels like fraud. Keep a close eye on your order and your bill One thing positive, the view is good! And food was good too
We were very disappointed with our experience at Nelson's. To start, be prepared for mandatory valet parking, which costs $15. We would also strongly advise making a reservation, as we were quoted a 45-minute wait for a table without one. The location and the ocean view are truly the only highlights, but even that is not guaranteed depending on your table. Unfortunately, the rest of our experience did not live up to the setting. The menu was surprisingly limited and more akin to a casual beach shack or a diner, which felt completely out of place with the resort's otherwise upscale ambiance. The quality of the food was a significant letdown. It was so poor that we didn't even want to finish our meals. Considering the high prices, the value for money is simply not there. We left feeling that we paid a premium for a nice view, but received a very subpar dining experience. We cannot recommend this restaurant.
