O this was a great spot to grab lunch at food was fantastic the truffle fries are a must try service was fantastic I asked for a item that was a season menu item and they had no issuse making it definitely worth trying this place the prime rib sandwiches are fantastic looking forward to trying out some of the bar drinks on the next visit

A quiet place to eat lunch, and we really enjoyed our experience. The salmon BLT and bison burger medium cooked was amazing. The hotel has an indoor waterfall, which I forgot about until we entered. Everyone was very friendly from the very first step inside. We will definitely be back, thank you.

Very quiet and warm atmosphere. Romantic type. We ordered a bison steak and bison rib with salads. Lovely bartender as she made us an customised drink

The Gold Bison Grill delivered an outstanding dining experience! I tried the bison short ribs, and they were absolutely delicious—tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The roasted Brussels sprouts were equally amazing, with just the right amount of seasoning and a delightful crunch. The service was impeccable, with a friendly and attentive staff who made sure everything was perfect. The warm and inviting atmosphere added to the overall enjoyment of the meal. If you’re looking for unique and flavorful dishes, the Gold Bison Grill is a must-visit. I can’t wait to come back and try more from their menu!

Really great place to try some local food in South Dakota. The chislic is one of the best appetizers I’ve ever had and the buffalo short rib was also good. Fast and friendly service, our waitress Vanessa was awesome! The hotel the restaurant is in is nice and has a relaxing waterfall near the restaurant. We liked the place so much we went twice during our trip!

To be honest, after the reviews, I was hesitant in going to this restaurant. We were on vacation at the end of Mayer and had a long day of travel, so it was super easy to just dine in here since this was our hotel. I was so glad we decided to eat here. Dennis was the night manager and was absolutely the best!!! He gave us his advice on an alternate route for our next day travels so that we could have a more scenic drive. The food was amazing!! In fact it was so good that we ate dinner at this restaurant for the next three nights. Highly recommend!!!

We ate here last night, during the WWE show. My toddler son made a big mess and our server was so patient and kind to him. She helped us clean up and even had time to dance a little and exchange a few sweet moments with him. Her attitude has humbled me as a fellow industry worker, she was amazing and I’ll remember her kindness when dealing with my tiniest guests. I don’t know her name but she’s very beautiful, has long light colored hair and tattoos. The food and drinks were good as well! Thank you so much for a good experience.

We ate here on a whim before heading to a hockey game and it is now a huperfoxation of mine and those we were with. I had the grilled chicken on croissant with sweet potato puffs, 2 others had the prime rib melt. One had parm aioli fries, the other had Cajun. The fourth had the Philly with prime rib and park fries. All of us were very happy with our meals. I tried the prime rib melt and it was amazing! Our server was such a sweet gal too!

Bison burgers grilled to perfection. Delicious local beers and a flight of mimosas that was outstanding. Most of all, Jen our waitress was awesome. She was helpful, friendly, polite, and checked on us often. Most of all she went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful dining experience.

$26 for the delicious brunch buffet. Prime rib and pork belly were cooked well. Enjoyed several other dishes. All the people working today were kind and made sure we were taken care of. Will be back!

Breakfast was great, but it was the service that was outstanding! My server, Jahr, was easily the best I’ve had in so long! He was so happy and fast. Poured my coffee multiple times, and even asked if he could fill my big water cup with ice water since I came after working out. Thank you so much! Rave review!

Too cold to walk outside, but the Gold Bison Grill is a great place to eat at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and the menu has plenty to choose from. My meal was basic, I had a bison burger which was excellent. Service was quick, friendly and a solid meal. I would eat here again without thinking twice.

Wow the Rapid City Restaurant week menu is fire. I don’t know what was better the steak I had or my wife’s pork chop. Seriously the last time I had a pork chop this good it cost more than my whole meal at the Golden Bison Grill. Kilgor is cooking up some great things we will be back!

Enjoyed Sunday Brunch today with family. Every offering (and there were many) was scrumptious, especially the melt-in-your-mouth Prime Rib. Our server was attentive, noticing and anticipating what we needed without our having to ask. Desserts were as artistic as they were delicious. I will come for lunch this week. A minor note: Don't expect the pizza to be artisanal. If it's real pizza you want, go to the east coast mecca: Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana in New Haven Ct.

Despite being a group of nine, our waiter was on point! Excellent food! Particularly like their Chislic, Steak tips and in my opinion- they have the best fries in town!

Outstanding event for us. Booked the Sunday brunch for our anniversary. Thanks to Cindy Summer and the cooks on the brunch line. We have dined here numerous times, never bad food or service. Thanks to all for all you did and do!

It’s inside the Holiday Inn! Good pizza. Bacon wrapped shrimp was plump and delicious. Couple of NA beer options. Pleasant environment and friendly service

The bison burger was great, the service was great excellent and both my kids ate free 👍👍. There isn’t much not to like about the place. The restaurant is located in the central lobby of the Holiday Inn so you have the open air feel but at the same time it is climate controlled

We love the Gold Bison Grill and have been many times and have always been pleased! Steve, Heidi, Heather and Taryn go above and beyond in every way, anticipating our needs. The atmosphere on the bar side is our favorite and the food is always delicious. Recommend the Burger, Pesto Flatbread, Truffle Fries, Spinach Strawberry Salad. You won't be disappointed!

The burgers are top notch and the Cajun fries, well, let's just say you'll want to order more than you recieve! They are that good!! If your in Rapid stop by and get some grub.

I don’t usually leave reviews but the place, the food and the service are too good not to give the credit deserved. Food is awesome! 10 out of 10. Me and my family genuinely loved the food. Mind that there were 11 of us and each one of us loved loved the food. Service is top notch 10 out of ten. Place is beautiful 10 out of 10. We will be back here the next time we’re here.

Couldnt find the ice machine on the 1st floor to fill a small cooler, asked one of the restaurant employees if he knew where it was, and he offered to take the cooler and fill it. As he was doing that, another employee asked if we needed bags of ice to go. After hitting the road and opening the cooler later, we saw he left us two cans of soda. 10/10 service, morning of 8/15/25

Doubletree's Gold Bison Grill is featuring a limited time menu. I so enjoyed the Salmon with rice. Looking forward to trying another dish before it's gone. Thank you for the safe place out of the rain. Lovely people and a huge inviting lobby and dining area.

This place has great customer service from just getting a spot to sit. Then the servers do a great job at making the atmosphere great. I recommend the prime rib, and build your own burger with the Parmesan fries with the recommended dip. The chefs do an awesome job at pretty much everything on the menu. You can’t go wrong with the dessert if you’re not to full. This is a secret sweet spot. Sunday brunch is the best if you can make it. The waffles are a must. I never had a bad experience any time I go to the bison grill.

My sister and I went this morning for Sunday brunch, OMG 😱 So good! I’m so full still. Great service, thanks Crystal! Took extra care of us in the lounge. I was so pleased by how fresh and homemade everything was! From the fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and rich hollandaise sauce to the fresh fruit, creamy mashed potatoes and unbelievably tender prime rib… They take pride in their craft and it shows. Our first brunch experience with out of town family...it was wonderful. Everything spotless clean, the food was delicious and wonderful selection......the service was great, the hostess, omelet maker, our server Diane, they were all so professional and very helpful and kind....will definitely be back!!

Jar is the gold standard of service! My husband and I recently stayed at the DoubleTree in Rapid City and had the pleasure of dining at the Gold Bison Grill. Jar is, without a doubt, the best server we have ever had. We ate breakfast there every morning, and even on the day he wasn’t our primary server, he went out of his way to greet us, ask about our trip, and keep our drinks filled. He remembered our exact orders every day and was incredibly thoughtful he even preemptively brought me a large to-go box, syrup, and a Diet Coke because he remembered I couldn't finish my meal the day before! He also filled our personal water bottles with ice since the hotel doesn't have a guest filling station. Jar is a rare find who genuinely cares about his guests. He deserves a raise and so much recognition!

Server Vanessa great service very polite and caring. Food was great served as ordered. I would say eat here awesome atmosphere.

The server was excellent, she was friendly and attentive. She got my drink quickly and answered all my questions. If the salmon had been served on a bed of rice the meal would have been perfect. The salmon was prepared very well and the vegetables were very good. I will eat here again

Came in around 4:30pm. Had a Caesar salad and the Chislic. Both great. Service was a little slow, but good overall.

Very good food, lounge is nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall a good experience, we will not hesitate to stop again on another trip thru Rapid city!

Me and my family ate dinner there. Staff was super nice. Food was ok. We ordered a steak which was 48 I think and it was all fat. Really disappointed.

This is the second time I’ve order a simple Grilled Chicken Caesar salad. The first time no dressing. This time no grilled chicken and my husband and I even went in and sat in the bar area and had drinks and I order my salad to go. The bartender Heather was too busy trying to get my husbands life story to get my grilled chicken. Always check your food if you get to go because I can’t even get my simple grilled chicken Caesar salad correct from them.

Horrible food and service. $50 bucks for a steak that isn’t edible and very poor service

I never leave a bad review, but the food was expensive and extremely poor quality. We ordered ribs that were unseasoned and mushy, a steak wrap that was painfully salty (and lacking steak), and a cheesecake with no toppings, even though they were specified in the instructions. Would not recommend.

Horrible breakfast. I ordered the eggs Benedict and had it delivered to my home through Doordash and what I received could only be called eggs Benedict (or food for that matter) if you squinted at it from a great distance. The "hollandaise", if you want to call it that, was closer to being a salty oily paste than any sauce I've ever had. The poached eggs were cooked hard as if they had just been hard boiled eggs, the ham was tough and overly greasy and salty. The only edible thing I received was the unseasoned breakfast potatoes. I will not be eating here ever again and would highly recommend to anyone considering this "restaurant" to avoid it at all costs.

Not accommodating. People with food allergies have to make sacrifices every day. But imagine taking away a child’s opportunity to eat with her teammates in a private room. The staff turned our daughter away. Because of her allergies we prepare special food for her. We asked for nothing. Not a plate. Not a beverage. Just a seat with her friends. Their policies made her leave. Do not recommend at all. They lack empathy and common sense.

Usually enjoy our food and service is generally good here. Not last night!! Alex is A TERRIBLE waiter. After 30 minutes of watching him intentionally ignore our table we walked out. It was very obvious he was ignoring us, especially when he stopped at the table right next to ours and kept his back turned to us. Go, but if they say Alex is your waiter, ask to be seated in a different section!!!
