They used to have great food, not anymore. Food. 1 Star Service 1 Star Update: I messaged several times on Facebook but never received reply. I ordered a meat burrito at your Cypress store. You recently started adding rice as a filler. I returned and asked again for a meat burrito, no rice and the second one also had rice. Not sure why staff was not listening to orders. I tried again at your store in Shasta Lake. We ordered food and a bear burrito was missing. It was drive thru only. I walked up to the window and employee told me he had to see what was missing. I asked how can you see an item thst does not exist? He started yelling at me. Obviously he is unstable and needs therapy. You do not treat customers like this. The owner, manager and employees are all responsible for how operations run. We never returned. Sad because we have patronized and enjoyed your food for many years but not anymore.

We go here all the time when we are in Redding good food we go in for the giant enchilada. It is filling and less than what we spend at taco bell. Fresh food and if you ask they do give a senior discount. Less than 20 bucks.

My husband & I went here for the first time a couple days ago. We wanted to try it from all the positive feedback we got from friends and family. The staff is friendly. Cute little shop. We ordered the super burrito beef. & 2 chicken quesadillas. Burrito wasn't that bad. It was a bit on the cold side. But tasty. The quesadillas were pretty good. If you're looking for authentic mexican this isn't the place. But it's definitely a good American/Mexi. Besides the cold burrito, we want to go back one more time & try their carne asada! UPDATE: The street tacos and the chicken tacos are the bomb!!! The street tacos definitely taste like the real deal. Their jalapeno hot sauce is sooo good! If you like a good kick to your meal!

Been around forever, and for good reason. Good food, always fresh, and the price is right. I almost exclusively get Super Nachos or the Taco Salad, but everything on the menu is delicious. Don't sleep on the milkshakes!

Food was very good! Service was absolutely phenomenal. The manager was very nice and accommodating. Everyone in there was smiling and having a good time at their jobs. This is how places should be ran and operated. The prices were more than worth it for the level of delicious my nachos and burrito were. Well done guys! Will be my go-to lunch stop from now on.

Always take a break and stop by the Taco Shop on our trips north to Shasta and beyond. Got the 6 pack tacos and got a free fountain drink w/our order. Tacos have generous portion of meat with salad and lots of cheese. Perfect and hits the spot. We love it.

Went there for the first time with my family and I really liked their street tacos. It came with green salsa and we tried their jalapeño sauce and rocket sauce and they were really good and spicy. Plus everybody there was nice and friendly to us. I wouldn't mind coming back and trying more food from their menu. 😋😋🌮🌮

I visit Redding, Ca once a year & Taco Shop is always my first stop as I get into town. Still the same great food I grew up on after all these years, even the same Taco sauce. Great staff and awesome owners. They do all their own prep on the food so you don't get pre-shreaded cheese, pre cooked taco shells or greasy fake meat like Taco Bell.

We love Taco shop being vegan. we can customize our burritos and they add avocado at no charge when they take out the dairy. This is so "right" and generous and we will keep coming back.

This is not your traditional Mexican food made by people who came from Mexico. It's Mexican food like my mom makes it whose family came from Minnesota. I've been going here since high school and sometimes it's exactly what I'm in the mood for. It's a little shop that makes it look like fast food, and yes you can order through the drive-thru, but it's a step above fast food. My favorites are the enchilada plate and the super nachos. :)

Del Taco by this Taco Shop wouldn't give me sauce with my order. I'd order 10 items and they'd give me 6 sauce packets. I'd ask for more and they'd refuse. Plus they shrunk all their sizes while charging more. Decided to go to Taco Shop. Love the quality of the food and they give me sauce for all of it. Hope Del Taco goes out of business soon...they earned it...and Taco Shop earned my repeat business.

The first time was amazing. Second time.. not so much.

They are always very friendly in there. Last time I was there I ordered a chicken burrito bowl. The guy making it forgot to put the chicken in it. We let them know and he personally came out and apologized for his mistake offering to remake me a new one. I just asked for a side of chicken to put on the one I already had and he gave me extra chicken for it. It more than made up for the mistake. As I said always very friendly and more that helpful. It is really a great place to go, with good food.

I was in an RV and, of course, only the drive through was opened. The employees were nice enough to take my order and bring my meal to the front door. The street tacos were authentic and delicious! The crunchy tacos are bomb. Super crisp, great flavor, simple and perfect. The sauces are also very good. I am trying to eat more healthy so my girlfriend and I split the 4 tacos and it’s enough. Not over stuffed but for us, good enough. Although a 3rd each always sounds like a good idea lol

I instantly knew it was the real deal: yellow plastic menu, cracked door glass, and open late. The holy trinity of authenticity. I ordered a Carne Asada Supreme Burrito and a large Horchata. No legendary chip bar, but they made up for it with a side of chips and some of the best Erto’s salsa I’ve ever had which was fresh, flavorful. It reminded me of Chevy’s salsa. The horchata was sweet enough to make my pancreas nervous but delicious nonetheless. The burrito was excellent very fresh, loaded, and not as greasy as most Erto's I've visited. Staff were super friendly and even brought my food to the table instead of yelling my number like it was lost bingo ball. Raliberto’s just claimed the top spot in my Erto’s Rankings. Thank you Raliberto's!!!

Very friendly staff and quick service. My only complaint is that the burrito I ordered cost almost $8.00 and was the size of a kids burrito, still tasted good though. I'll try the tacos next time.

Really good tasting food, portions are great, would give 5 stars if the drive thru service wasquicker. Every single time i visit, it is an unacceptable wait time, almost like the DMV of fast food places in Redding, CA.

Just stopped here while on the road. Wanted something other than just basic so-so fast food. I got the asada tacos and added cheese and sour cream! They were pretty tasty and I enjoyed the sauce on them. My only complaint would be the smell of the place; it had a hint of pee smell. Glad I got my food to go!

I would normally give both locations 5 stars, but...it is one of only a couple of counties in California that still allow the use of Styrofoam! Totally irresponsible for the environment! Love the food, and most of the employees are great! It couldn't possibly cost enough more to use recycled paper containers that are pretty much standards for the rest of California, and ,should be for the world!

I nearly always get the same thing...two street tacos for $5! Very tasty, and, you can't beat that price! My only gripe is the fact that they still use Styrofoam containers and I consider that a crime against the entire planet! Two locations, but the owner is from the Midwest somewhere and obviously doesn't have a clue about the alternatives to Styrofoam could mean!

This place has really good food and it's inexpensive. The funny thing is that if you are familiar with taco tree in Auburn this place is practically identical. I mean same food and even the same hot sauce. So if you like taco tree you will like this place.

The food here is always great and fresh. Smaller business with friendly staff, taco sauce is pretty good too. The shop hours are a bit odd though. They close at 8:30 on the weekends, which leaves you with a poor alternative for tacos.....

There are two taco shops one in Shasta Lake city that has been there decades upon decades with great food and good service it's where the locals go. And don't forget about the Redding location as well next to McDonald's. You get good portions for the money instead of going to Taco Bell do yourself a favor and go here. You'll get a much better meal and you'll be better satisfied with the portions.

It's all about the tacos, and the made in house sauce "not-so-rocket" hot sauce. Since they haven't named version 2, and if you ask for Rocket everyone feels obligated to explain. Things change and a primary ingredient is not available, so there is a reasonable substitute, so ask for it for these excellent tacos.

Got a Taco Lite as usual, shell wasnt as crispy as in the past, maybe was too late in the day to be fresh. Otherwise was a quick visit, very friendly drive thru girl!

Service was fast and friendly. The Super burrito I tried was fresh and big. It was filled with unseasoned beef and bland beans. It certainly filled me up and was a fair value for the price but was lacking authentic Mexican flavor.

Normally this place is awesome. This last time not so much. The enchilada was yucky. The bean burrito what kind of small this time with hardly any cheese or sauce. Maybe it was just a one time deal. I won't stop coming here. This place is normally fantastic.

Still a good milkshake but otherwise overpriced. Solo dinner one item plus milkshake $21.50. They just cutt hours back to close at 8pm now. Giving out free drink with $10 or more order but I had to ask for it. A Redding icon, I hope they make it with the higher prices but everybody is raising prices now!

quality of their food has really deteriorated :( i am so sad, we loved this little shop. Adding this edit in response to the shop owners query. We have had two issues:. 1). The last few times we have been there everyone had agreed that the beans are often inedible, tasting old, very thick, like paste. Second, the size of products have become quite inconsistent, at times, reasonable like always before and at other times, relatively tiny and not at all what we have come to expect. I hope you can look into these, we have always loved your food.

First, the food is delicious! At lease the one downtown that I have been to. The issue for me is that I looked at the drive through board. Big specials menu on the right side , 5 crunchy tacos for 9.99. Awesome. Girl asks what I want and I say the 5 crunchy tacos. She askes what meat? On the specials menu is shows the choices. I choose 3 chicken and 2 beef. Drive forward and she says $22. I said for the 5 crunchy tacos that the menu board says $9.99. She says you got 2 different kinds of meat. I said you asked me what kind of meat. She said well you didn't say you wanted the special. I asked if these are the same tacos as the special other than 2 different meats? Yes they are. So because I didn't use the word special and you didn't ask me if I wanted the special which is the same thing and you asked me what kind of meat not knowing from the board that there is only 1 kind of meat allowed for the special I am charged double. Her answer, yes. NO THANKS. I miss Taco Shop

Ordered a soft taco/hard taco box to go with sour cream added. I would rather spend money at Del Taco, at least than I know my food is actually fresh. Nothing like lettuce that got too hot to ruin a hard taco.

Something has changed at the Taco Shop. Their tacos used to be the best in town; not anymore. The other day I ordered 2 tacos w/no lettuce because they only have iceberg which has more toxins than nutrients. There was about 1 tablespoon of meat in each taco and the shells were stale. I've given up asking for fresh salsa because they now charge $1.00 for less than a tablespoon of it. Besides it's just canned tomatoes and pepperocinis, no fresb cilantro or garlic/onion. Sure as heck isn't worth paying $1.00 for. I like a deal, but if it doesn't taste good what's the sense in eating it? Time to figure out where the Taco trucks are parking.

The workers played the whole time instead of giving us our food. We were in line for like 20 minutes. They were cussing and making loud noises the whole time and talking over our food.

Street tacos ( carne asada) were made with what I thought was hamburger, but it was steak, and had little flavor. I use to get the enchilada, this time the ground meat in the enchilada had big chunks in it. It use to be fine ground and use to taste a lot better.

Bland as hell. Definitely an american taco shop. Response to the owner: you are extra salty about people criticizeing your shop. Sure its an american taco shop but i expected to bite into cheese that had flavor. Or meat that didnt taste like i was eating straight taco seasoning. They have online ordering but need to update their site. We tried twice to order online but was told it was unable to complete the order and try again. Also that they were very busy. I decided to just drive there instead. They weren't at all busy so definitely need to work on their site. Also as far as I'm concerned their food is no better than taco bell but they charge more. They do have enchiladas and street tacos which taco bell doesn't offer. In fact I prefer taco bell if I had to choose between the two. Sorry but to me they just aren't that good

This place is absolutely disgusting! I went there with a friend and our children. We decided to save money and buy many tacos. Horrible idea. The second taco I bit into had the end of a body piercing in it. I was relieved that I got it instead of my children, but it was still disgusting. Then when I called to complain, the manager refused to offer me my money back and told me that no on in this place had any body piercings. She was completely rude and of absolutely no help. I asked for the number for someone who would be of more assistance and she refused. It amazes me that she is suggesting that I would lie about this. Needless to say I will never go there again and I will make sure to inform the public about this as much as possible. I hope this place closes before a child bites into a contamination and is hurt.

I have lived in Redding for 20 years and had never had their food. I ordered a chicken taco, which my husband loved. And 1/2 order Nachos. The nachos had cold shredded beef. The meat had quite a few large pieces of fat and gristle. The chips were stale. The food had no flavor. Not even any salt. The young woman at the drive thru was friendly and the order took a little bit. But not long enough for food to grow cold. Disappointed.

Ate there yesterday January 2, 2025 at about 2:30 pm . First time I have tried the food here . Never again . The beans were all dried up and the rice was served in lumps . I purchased the grande taco plate and the tacos were nothing to get excited about either . So disappointed. I don’t know how someone could sent that plate out the drive through .

We go to taco shop a lot for lunch. They are always friendly, good and quick service. 4.3.25 - I'm changing my review. They re-did the taco shop. It's way more expensive now. We walked in, saw the new prices, and walked out to go next door to MickeyD. We won't be back to taco shop. It's just lunch. I'm not paying $3.99 for a taco when a few months ago it was a 6-pack tacos for $12.99. C-ya.

My sister suggested this place to me, we ordered through door dash I believe. She noted a dairy allergy, and to not put cheese or sour cream, ect. The one bite I took tasted great, but I'm already regretting it. The burrito that was marked no sour cream, is full of cheese. I would have loved to give a better review than this, but sadly, I feel very sick. Ordered at around 8:02pm, Monday, 6-20-2022

Got a bean and steak burrito. First the tortilla waa not cooked but was warmed. Beans are disgusting tasted like can beans. Rice was hard and old. Barely any meat. Im not from Redding! But im not sure how this place is still open serving food like that. Gross

Grabbed 2 tacos because I was dumb . What was I thinking eating tacos with 🌮 shells. My stomach was tortured for eating this. Did not look clean - Next time, I will just skip Redding all together With the food and tweakers outside Redding gets a 👎👎👎👎👎

My wife, me and my daughter looked at each other after we took a bite of our feet and cheese burrito, and we knew that something was wrong with it. It tasted like something died, maybe it was mold maybe a rat fell in there maybe there were maggots nobody knows but I would be very careful. I'm never eating there again because that was awful and the worst taste experience of my life. You couldn't see it or smell it but it was there when you took the bite and thank goodness we didn't swallow it because we would have been very sick tonight. Are they turning over there beans everyday? I don't know.

Ordered the #1 Super Enchilada Combo w/chicken and no rice extra beans. Everything was made right but my whole meal was barely even warm. I would say it was lukewarm. I don't live far at all from taco shop so there should be absolutely no reason why my food is as cold as it is. Not a very happy customer at all.

They forgot half my order. I went home and called about 10 times with no answer. Finally left a message and got a call back, he said he couldn't refund me I would need to call back the next day when manager was there. I called back the next day and the guy who answered the phone immediately lied and said he put that order together earlier and it was all there before I could mention it happened the day before. Once again I was told to call back for a manager because they couldn't refund me. I would advise anyone who will listen to never go here. The food is mediocre at best and the staff is quick to lie and not help fix any issues. It was only a few dollars but still this is terrible practice. I still want my money back

Worst Mexican food I have ever had. The food was either dry or way too oily and the salsa looked like dirty water. The soda was watered down and the service was really slow. My 3 year old daughter wouldn't even eat the rice and beans. Taco bell rice has more flavor. I would've rather spent my $30 at McDonald's or burger king.

Have had 2 very bad experiences here in the past 2 weeks, both orders with over 10 crispy tacos and they had bearly any meat on them. Not to mention the wrapper had a lot of other ingredients sticking to it I never ordered. They then didn’t include any taco sauce with my order the second time and said they ran out which should be stated before I told them I wanted that when ordering. I ended up throwing away all of the food. The manager really needs to be held accountable for the people that are being hired because they can’t seem to get the simplest things right.

My friends and I came to taco shop on cypress like we do almost every week, we love the establishment, the food, however tonight we did not appreciate the service. The cashier said they had closed 20 minutes prior to the listed closing time. Open signs still on. Not to say we won’t be back but it’s definitely put a sour taste on our tongue.

I had the double meat super burrito with chicken. I've had better Mexican food at taco bell for real. The chicken was barely warm and unseasoned. Every ingredient in it tasted like taco night at a white family's house. They put black olives in a burrito why ? Would not recommend.

Garbage food. Garbage ingredients. Slow service, but extremely friendly staff. Check your order before you leave the drive thru. Two out of three times they got my order wrong. I won't be back again. In December of 2023 for example, I ordered two chicken tacos and ended up getting two ground beef tacos but had already driven to another part of town to eat.

Ordered a bean burrito and a super burrito but basically got a super bean burrito just horrible with about 90% bean

Never had taco shop but this one time I did try it, there was hardly any meat in the burrito i had and was discusting. Beans were super dry along with the rice and won't be coming back.

I went with my friends during a road trip and I will say the atmosphere was nice to talk and hang out in and the employees were pretty nice it seemed. Over all the food wasn't great but it was an okay place to be in if you don't mind it.

I got the birria taco plate the tacos are OK... the meat is in huge chunks kind of gross. Plssss lay off the salt on the rice and beans omg!! I literally could not even finish it 🤢 just tons and tons of salt

We through the drive-through last weekend at 2:30 in the morning and they were still open, which was nice. Ordered our food and got home and the tacos were absolutely disgusting, because they were filled with gristle. Like at the last minute, they chopped up some nasty Carne Asada, and threw it in the tacos. We ordered ground beef tacos. And spent.over $50 on this order for four of us and couldn’t eat half of it. Now tonight a weekend later went back there to talk to The same crew and was told By the little girl at the window that, “you should've came back with the order that night”,. I live 8 miles away, So when I explained To her this information she repeated the same thing. I said that I wasn’t gonna drive back at 2:30 in the morning and then I asked her for a phone number, and she Told me, “ You can Google it”. I said I didn’t want to Google it. I needed the phone number. If you could please write it down on a piece of receipt paper and she once again said “you can Google it”. I just told my wife to drive away. And I would deal with this in the morning. The girl behind the window would not give me her name nor phone number to call. Was a complete smartazz. I hope whoever actually owns this business Sees this review.I Iusually never complain, but considering we spent this amount of money and go there just about every weekend evening I will wash my hands of this little restaurant and chalk it up to learning the hard way. It’s unfortunate that businesses have to have young people that have such attitudes, that don’t want to work. She was Hispanic, about 18 years old, maybe 20 at the most, and had an attitude . I will never darken the door of this restaurant ever again. January 31, 2026 10:30 PM. I really hope the owner takes care of this problem because this girl should not be working anywhere in customer service before she grows up. Sorry Roberto‘s taco shop, but this little girl cost you a good customer. Never again And to be fair, most of the time the service is fantastic, but this little girl needs to be put in check.
