Great food, excellent service. Went to try it out yesterday. There was all you could eat schnitzel and spaetzle. Tried several different types of schnitzel, and all of it was amazing. The owner Tim served us. You can tell he puts his heart into this business. Everything was delicious, and Tim treated us like a friend as he served us some amazing food. Great experience overall. Unbelievable food and friendly, personable service. You can tell everything is made with love and thoughtfully crafted. Rogies and Brats/ Brats and Spatz were the most delicious, homey thing I’ve ever eaten. The Korean Fried Schnitzle was complex and had such a depth of flavour. The chocolate cake is rich, delicate and not too sweet all at the same time. These folks know what they’re doing.

Came to eat with my son and dad, and we had a lovely time. The owner is super friendly and answered lots of our questions about the dishes. It was very approachable - chose the place so my farmer father would find something to enjoy, and he did. We all loved the food and would definitely come back!

Tried Dads Diner for the first time today and it was excellent. A huge array of home made Schnitzels, chili, tacos and cinnamon buns. Every now and again they have an All You Can Eat event and today it was all you can eat Schnitzel, perogies and spaetzle for $35. Definitely got our fill and each plate was so good! Took some home made cinnamon buns home to eat later.

Came in today because I saw all you could eat tacos, they looked awesome. I had ordered some haggis and needed to pick it up. My husband got the tacos, they were great, I ordered the Hunter Schnitzel...epic! My son got the combo burger with fries, epic! My son's girlfriend ordered the My kasespaetzle and it is was amazing too! Check them out!

Really delicious (we ordered schnitzel), generous portions, attentive service, and both the cinnamon bun and chocolate cake were tasty too (we split one of each). Clean and bright space, with an easy going and homey atmosphere. Plenty of street parking. Will return again!

We got a burger, fries and cinnamon buns for takeout today. Everything was flavourful, fresh tasting (even with doing takeout) and the price was reasonable for what we received. We really enjoyed the food and will definitely order from here again!

My wife mentioned this place a few days ago and we decided to go for lunch. I had the tacos, soup of the day and salad. Tacos were so good I needed to order 2 more. The ginger carrot soup was perfect and not overly gingery or carroty. The vinaigrette on the salad was good as well.

It was like having a homemade meal! It was delicious and unbelievable price! Strongly recommend.

This is the definition of a hidden gem. An incredibly authentic schnitzel Haus in the middle of a very challenged part of Regina. No liquor license, very plain but clean space. This is the landing spot of a popular food truck and the expression of German comfort food is spot on. The spatzle, brat and blu kraut is delicious, but it is the schnitzel, golden, and perfectly crisp that is the reason to go. I had just plain Weiner schnitzel, with lots of lemon, and I think I had the best of it. But there's also a variety of sauces you can have, including cheese and mustard, mushroom, and Korean kimchi. I have been told the burgers are also very delicious. Very affordable and popular. Make a reservation on the weekend especially.

Best cinnamon buns I’ve ever had, they even beat Carlyle bakery by a mile. I called about an hour before closing, and the owner (I believe) had the 3 cinnamon buns he had left, ready and packaged for when I arrived!! Great service and great food I’ll be coming back to try the food menu!

HUGE RAVE!!!! Dad's Diner on 11th Ave, can’t say enough great things about the food and the owner. My daughter and myself usually work til 8 pm on Thursday, we snuck out a little early to try this gem of a place, based solely on reviews. Not only were we warmly welcomed (it was nearly their close time as well) but the owner made our burgers perfectly and engaged in a great conversation. If I could, I’d rate Dad’s a 10 out of 5. I’m eagerly waiting to try the schnitzels 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Small "mom and pop" feel to the place, but very clean and well kept. Waitress was awesome and the food was incredible. Huge portions for a reasonable price and tasted authentic. Family was asking halfway through if we could come back again. I was already thinking about what I would try next. Everything about the experience felt "wholesome" to me and would recommend it to anyone.

The chilli was ethereal…..meaty, lots of vegetables and with a tasty broth. It is rare. The cooking is on par with Tommy’s speak eatery. This is high praise. I reminds me of grandma’s food. It is an early stage business long on talent and short on decor …. I love the talent and could care less about the rough edges. I will be back.

Coming from restaurant backgrounds my partner and I just want good food, without pretention, that taste great, in a relaxed space. We finally made it down to Dad's Diner and was worth the wait. Service was great, food was delicious, and we spent less than we almost ever do by the time we left. Adding it to our short list of Go To places. I had schnitzel with this tasty cheese sauce, braised red cabbage, and spaetlze that was super tasty. Cara had perogies and sausage and Felix wasnt that hungry so they just had fries. All of it was tasty, we packed up leftovers and got dessert to go.

I ordered the Hunter schnitzel (with mushroom sauce) and a piece of chocolate cake via Uber Eats tonight. It arrived quickly, and I was impressed that the schnitzel was crispy owing to the fact that they packaged the sauce in a separate container! The food was delicious and I can’t wait to check out the restaurant in person.

This tiny little gem in Regina is great! Friendly staff and authentic delicious food. I will definitely visit here again next time I am in Regina. Apparently the cinnamon rolls are phenomenal....and they sell out fast...hopefully can snag one next time.

Nashville schnitzel sandwich and spaetzle were delicious and very filing. And some of the best homemade fries I've ever had. Very reasonable prices and friendly service.

Without a word of a lie, the best burger i have ever had. The bacon mayonnaise sauce is rich without being heavy and the mix of pork and beef patties adds a welcomed depth of flavour. The restaurant is small and quaint and the service is next level. You can tell the food is made with love and care. I highly recommend

I had read some reviews about the diner, so was pleased to finally have a chance to go. The restaurant is small and not fancy, but it was clean, and Tim (owner) is very personable and welcoming. Everything on the menu looked delicious, and Tim was very helpful with questions I had. He questioned my likes/dislikes, then suggested I try the Nashville Hot Schnitzel. I decided to have the Cream of Mushroom soup as my side, instead of fries. That soup was one of the best I have ever had - it was homemade, not from a can, and was the perfect size for a side dish. The schnitzel was cooked to perfection, and was huge. The flavours were wonderful, and the spiciness was not hot, just tasty. My friend tried the Bacon Cheeseburger with fries, and we split the two dishes so we could try both. The cheeseburger was excellent, and the fries were definitely not pre-frozen, but fresh (I didn’t try any but my friend said they were wonderful). Of course, Tim walked by with a plate of freshly made cinnamon buns, so we had to finish our meal with that. Smart move, Tim! The price is reasonable, the service and food is excellent. I can’t wait to go back and try more from the menu (although I definitely want either of those two dishes again!).

My mouth was watering seeing all the food coming out of the kitchen! I had a schnitzel and my daughter had the Bratwurst!!! Not a morsel of food left behind! It was an incredible meal! Honestly reminded me of my visit to Germany. Perfectly done large schnitzel, juicy and nice crunch on the outside. Unlimited coffee was perfect. Server was super chill. I’m not from Regina but the area is a lil sketchy but hey you’re getting food, not sleeping over!

The Nashville Schnitzel was incredibly tasty. Not too hot. The waiter and staff were attentive and friendly. May not be the best neighbourhood but had no trouble. Have to pay for parking on the street during the week.

What a wonderful local treasure this place is! My wife and I just went here for our first time and stumbled into an all you can eat extravaganza of schnitzel, spaetzle and perogies. Dad himself served and explained all of his creations to us. Everything was so delicious and the service was excellent! We haven't had our cinnamon buns yet, but they also look super good. I highly recommend this restaurant. These are the types of places that we need to support so that our city has unique and amazing food options. We will be back!!

Great burgers, soups, fries, cinnamon buns, tried it all. lol. Been there a couple of times now and food quality was consistent which is a great sign for a small business like this. I was impressed with the homemade chorizo patty in my burger, muy bueno amigo!

We Googled food near us and Dad's Diner showed up, so we tried it out. We were not disappointed. The food was amazing and the service was great. The hunter schnitzel is something to go back for!! Definitely will go back. Also you have to try the cinnamon buns!

First time in Dad's dinner and I gotta say it's wonderful. We both ordered the Prime rib pretzel dip and the flavor was fantastic. I got the fries for my side and they made a delightful snack. The Carrot, root vegetable and ginger soup was ginger forward which in my experience can be hard to achieve and well blended. All of it was filling very good quality. The owner was in as well and he was very friendly and welcoming. Dad's Diner also works with as many local suppliers as they can, which is always a very pleasant thing to see with restaurants.

The spätzle were soft, creamy and tasty! We tried the one with mushroom gravy and the one with tomato sauce. The other one was with beets. It also tasted great. We also tried the soup called Bosche, the beets were crunchy and not shredded. I liked it.

Was full anyways, but somehow found room for the cinnamon buns and were so glad we did. It is a diner, so don’t expect a high class restaurant. Would definitely go back on our next visit to Regina.

I ordered the Cheeseburger with Soup as the side instead of french fries. The patty was seared perfectly with just the right amount of char around the edges to make it crispy. Toasted bun with fresh tomato and lettuce. Sauce wasn't too heavy but brought great flavour. The soup was a rich cream of mushroom soup that had fresh herbs and hearty mushrooms. The burger was excellent, but the soup was my favourite part to my own surprise since I typically am not a cream-based soup guy (but it won me over)! Looking forward to returning to try their schnitzel, chili, and desserts. Great value and quality overall. Staff was lovely too.

The food was delicious with huge pieces of schnitzel. I had the Hot Honey BBQ Schnitzel with mushroom soup and my girlfriend had the Vienna Schnitzel and spaetzle with a side order of brat. Definitely will come again with the great quality of food and the friendly and fast service.

We walked in and were greeted almost instantly. Great food, service, and a quiet place to come have a friendly meal among friends. Didn't know what to expect, but had heard such great reviews about the food and service. It is a bright and cozy place. We had a bacon cheeseburger, Korean fried schnitzel sandwich, hunter schnitzel and schnitzel with mustard sauce. Was tempted at the looks of the cinnamon bun and chocolate cake but really didn't have room for it after our meals. All were very tasty and my husband says he would try a different schnitzel for sure as the mustard sauce was good but not as good as others that he has had. Lots of pickups and deliveries were being done during our meals.

Great food! Good prices. Owner was friendly, provided prompt and excellent service. We were in Regina from out of town and searched reviews for best home cut fries. Dad's Diner had excellent reviews so we gave it a shot. Google maps had us going around in circles (it didn't have to be that complicated, it was fairly easy once we just looked for the street and number) but we found it. It's a bit of a sketchy area, but we know hole in the wall restaurants often have the best food, so we gave it a go, trusting the reviews. And we were not disappointed. Excellent poutine, and the burger was delicious (lots of toppings (bacon/cheese) and lots of garlic, which we love!). Only disappointment was that we didn't save room for dessert, the cinnamon buns looked delish! We will definitely be back when we are in Regina again!

I had been hearing nothing but raving reviews about this place, but my experience felt underwhelming. It was a Saturday evening, and the restaurant was full (good sign). This isn’t a big place inside, 7 or 8 tables or so. Our waitress was the slowest moving person I’ve ever seen. Absolutely no urgency to serve people whatsoever 😂. We waited a while for our drinks to be refilled. In a small place like this I feel like more attention to your tables would have been a given. After waiting a while our food was served, we had to wait for cutlery which was frustrating, but not the end of the world I guess. Food was lukewarm and not hot enough, but things had taken so long that I just wanted to eat and get out. Meals were decent, but nothing spectacular. The cinnamon bun was the best out of everything, but I expected it to be warm. It was served cold on a warm plate. My friend ordered the Bacon Mushroom Swiss burger, and came with a whopping 2 sliced mushrooms. Really?! It’s a mushroom burger!! I’m not sure if this is a one off and I really wanted to share the same experience others had, but service was slow and food was just okay. I probably won’t think of this place next time I’m hungry, I see lots of room for improvement.

I ate there today and had the Jaegherschnitzel and kaisespaetzle. The schnitzel was thin, dry and tough. The mushroom gravy did not taste of mushrooms at all but tasted like grainey mustard. My favourite, that I was so looking forward to was the kaisespaetzle which I've had many times both in Canada and in Germany. It was not edible and if I didn't know what I ordered (at a steep premium) I would not have known what it was. Could not taste cheese and it was covered in a foul tasting grease and spices that had no business being there. I could ignore the unappealing decor if the food had of been delicious but mine went uneaten. First and last time at Dad's Diner

We are rating Dads for it's appearance when arriving at the Diner ! The condition of the outside is disgusting & the people hanging around the entrance is something to be concerned about ! We sat outside with our doors locked watching & were not able to enter their Diner for fear of what could happen to us ? This may be over reacting but We have never seen such a terrible LOOKING restaurant upon entering their establishment & we have been all over Canada & the US & this Diner is by far the worst we have ever seen ! We so wanted to have a meal there as all we have ever heard is how great a place it is to eat at & yes their service inside has a great ranting so this revive may not be far ! Like I have stated we have been to many a restaurants & have always entered so we feel in our defence we can say this is far to us ? I do not understand why they stay in this location & why the City allows the area to get in such a disgusting appearance ? We may try once more or go after the City of REGINA to do something about what we saw & show some concern about its Citizens welfare & take some pride in our City ! Well that is to bad that you as a owner has not noticed the garbage in the lane next to the diner that is full of garbage & the clothes on the side walk next to the restaurant & yes we returned around 7:30 & the people had left & none were around at that time ! Sorry you think that you do not have a problem with your surroundings so I now I see why it is the shape it's in ! Thanks for responding & I apologizes if I have offended you ! My bad I was sure that you also would like it cleaned up but I see not !

After hearing great things about Dad's, we had a very disheartening lunch today. It's sad because I really hope for the success of local eateries. The schnitzel looked overdone when it arrived. It was thin, yet hard to cut, and when eaten had the texture of shoe leather. The spatzel was bland and flavourless. We could only manage a few bites. Thankfully the waitress didnt charge us for the meals.
